Satellite A215 screen is black

Hello

can someone help me please.
I just got a Satellite A215 for a little over a month now, and I'm having a few problems. It happened twice where as my laptop just in case would be out just empty.

It would be on the internet, and all of a sudden the screen is black. What can be the problem with this?

My friend told me it may be overheating.
This is usually normal? Me and my friend are not computer experts, so can someone please help me?

Also, I see there are a lot of windows vista and toshiba programs installed with this laptop.
Can you get it someone please let me know what programs are completely unnecessary. I really want to clean this laptop so he can be executed at the best performance. I use this laptop for school and for DJing (serato scratch live).
So can someone please help me?

Thank you.

  • Satellite A200 screen remains black when you try to start

    Hi all

My Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop computer no longer works, then everything started when I was playing a game, all of a sudden the screen turned blue with a tiny text written on it. I had to hold the power button for a few seconds to close, because nothing not happening on the computer. Then, I pressed the power button to open it. Everything was fine, until the Welcome screen. In this part, he wrote 'Welcome' but Vista left loading circle of it was not turning.

After a few seconds, I decided to shut down the computer once again, so I hold the power button for the computer firm. Here's the problem: I tried to re-open it, but the screen remained black. Nothing was happening. The power light is blue, but not all computer activity. So I left it like that a few minutes then it closed and tried again, but it's the same thing. I tried to take it apart and noticed the card two memory was not entirely in its niche. I fixed it, but it does not solve the problem.

I also tried to plug another screen on it, but this one was also black. So I handed the screen on his computer and tried to boot my laptop and it worked. He was the starter, but the first problem came, the Welcome screen was frooze it. So yes I close it up and then it's the same thing, the screen remained black.

I don't think the problem is the screen, because as I said some time it goes to the Welcome screen. Also, I hear no welcome sound when the screen remains black as if the computer would simply not starts. And as I said earlier, I see no activity of the computer on the little light in front of the computer. And to the left of it, I see clearly that the computer is ON, because the power light is blue.

That is my problem, the next time that the computer is able to start I'll try to boot mode SAFE, but until then, I don't know what to do. Please, help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    MrRoy

    EDIT:
After the computer is turned off for about 30 minutes, I started and booted in safe mode. At this stage, I have locked my computer with the close button instead on the power button. Then I opened my computer and he started and the problem was solved. Now my laptop is open and working.

So, if this happens to you:
    1. turn off your computer.
    2. wait about 30 minutes.
    3. start in safe mode
    4. close using istead of now off button power button closure.

    It should work.

Finally, it does not work. I don't know why, but my computer did start after 30 minutes, but now it no longer works. Only, it will not start as I said later, with a black screen.

The computer worked for about half an hour. I mean, I managed to start but after running a program, it just froze and I had to hold the power button to restart. I made about 3 or 4 times, and then he was simply the black screen again. I think the problem is my processor, maybe that it is damaged or something, would it possible?

Because I see that the processor does not work when I try start it.

So let's say that this is the case, would it be the symptoms of my computer?
And if it's the processor, the only way to resolve this is to send it to a repairman or something, because I don't feel like it, I'd rather do it myself.

But now, my computer is simply not starting, as I said in my previous post.

    Thanks in advance,
    MrRoy

  • Re: Satellite L850 - screen went black

Suddenly I've woke up today and turned my laptop Toshiba Satellite L850 on discovery of the screen is black, worked fine last night.
The laptop is immaculate and never moved, haven t set new updated BIOS or anything irregular, tried to remove the battery and press and hold power for 30 sec and without success.

Interestingly, I connected a HDMI cable from my laptop to an external monitor, and also just a black screen.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

If I understand you right laptop starts normally with the HARD disk activity but rest black screen all the time. Is this correct? You hear the sounds of windows when the operating system is loaded?

Strange thing is that there is nothing on the external screen too. What you did is right but I have fear, you need professional help with this Mr. warranty is still valid?

  • Satellite A210 - screen goes black without any reason!

I got my satellite A210-171 for a few years and a few months ago, everything was OK.
But our when I'm working or watching a web my screen goes black and nothing seems to work?
The only way around this is to turn off the power switch on the laptop then restart it again.

I then get a message saying roughly...
Computer has not closed properly OR sound closed to protect all data, then a countdown begins to re open!

It may be OK for a few hours or maybe a day there is no limit of time on it!
If anyone can help I would be very grateful, but please don't use of computer jargon that I don't understand

    Hello

It is really hard to tell what is causing this problem. It could be a hardware malfunction or a software problem.
But as Auma says you should test the RAM with Memtest86. It's really very easy to use and can detect modules memory defective RAM check it!

Another question is have you installed a different display driver or updated? I ask this question because the display drivers they are not causing Toshiba sometimes of questions.
In any case, I would recommend updated display driver and check the site Web of Toshiba for a update.

And before moving on to an authorized service provider reinstall you Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc. So you will get back factory settings and with these settings, your laptop should work fine.

    Good bye

  • After the waiting on my Satellite A200 screen is black

I would like to ask for help.

I have problem when I close the lid of my Satellite A200 1 - HV (PSAECE). Computer is going to hold and after I opened the hood, laptop seems to work but display is always black. Only way to make it useful is once again turn the unit off (by the power button) and turn it on.

Sometimes, the same problem occurs when the computer starts. After loading Windows (XP) the screen goes black and I can't do anything. Sometimes at startup of Windows but the resolution is 640 x 480 and color depth is 16 or even 4 bits!

I don't know if it's a hardware or driver problem. My graphics card is a GeForce GO 7300. I tried to find one driver other than that on the official website of Toshiba but I can't. This problem is quite annoying. Sometimes I have to try 3 or 4 times until my departure from the computer correctly.

All attempts to help will be really appreciated.

    Hello

Have you updated the BIOS to the version of Windows XP Home edition (5.20)?

I found a few with similar threads describing the same question. It seems that Windows XP Home edition does not work perfect on laptops designed Vista. Now I'm really curious about it. I install WXP SP2 on my Satellite A200-1CR and test it with Eve profiles different power.

  • Satellite L850 - screen is black

    Model: Satellite L850 - 1UX
    Part number: PSKG8E - 08100KCE

    Hi all

I have the above model. It happened to me the screen became black suddenly, but there is always something 'in the back. I can see the back of the screen (that is, the office or the initial password screen) but totally black, unless I look at it from an angle or with a lighter.

    This problem happened to me 4 or 5 times in the past<2 years="" and="" i="" am="" somewhat="" desperate="" because="" i="" cannot="" find="" any="" solution.="" the="" first="" time="" i="" took="" it="" to="" the="" service="" repair="" they="" told="" me="" that="" there="" was="" something="" with="" the="" automatic="" upgrades="" from="" the="" computer="" and="" i="" needed="" to="" cancel="" that="">

But the prpoblem persists, I tried to connect it to an external display, and it still works.

I don't know what to do to solve this time. Any advice?

    Concerning

.... I tried to connect it to an external display, and it always works.

If the external monitor works properly, the GPU as well as the graphics card drivers should be OK and I think that the problem must be related to a display board malfunctioning internal.

In case the pilots or GPU would make some problems, the external monitor wouldn't work too.

  • Re: Satellite L350 - screen goes black when I try to play

I have a laptop Toshiba L350 Sat. Its currently running on Windows Vista. Caused by a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows. The laptop is now free from virus.

My problem is that when I try to play some games that I have the screen goes black and I have to do a forced restart using the power button. There are no other noise running in the background, and Ctrl alt del does not work either.

Is or has anyone else suffered from this problem and if so how they remedy? I'll try to re-installthe drivers when I get home this morning, but I can't think of anything that could be the cause of the problem...

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello

Which disc you used to reinstall Windows?

Normally, if you use the all Toshiba Recovery disk should work fine after that. These parameters are pre-tested by Toshiba.

In addition, you can try to clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust of fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

I have a Toshiba Satellite l - 300 equipped Vista, whose screen has disappeared almost completely black.
I can still see what is happening on the screen if I concentrate hard. really, it's like the light from the screen has declined by 2%.
I can still use it but only I have a cable plugged-> tv, computer use the TV as an external monitor.
    Which works very well.
So, any ideas what it could be?

    * I went to the display settings and I pressed the button with the largest light bulb :)

    Hello

I think that the FL inverter is faulty.
The FL inverter controls the backlight of the display and this tiny part is hidden behind the s display frame (near the keyboard).

So I guess this part needs to be replaced
Recommended to contact a technician to fix this problem.

    Hello

I'm not the most computer savy person, but I know that when I open the lid on my laptop, the screen is supposed to come. Sometimes the screen remains white, but I may here make the sign in his and if I plug it into the TV via the HDMI port it shows the screen works fine.

That doing so is close, open and close the top several times and hope it works again. This can happen even if it is open and working and I restart the computer.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

It would be very interesting to know which laptop Satellite M you exactly. Maybe you can add this information. ;)

In addition you have connected any external devices waiting monitor via HDMI?
If you have the SD card inserted, remove it.

  • Satellite L35D screen goes black periodically

I looked through the various discussions forum on the screens black but can't seem to find one like mine.

When its not an overheating and cutting (another problem since!) It works for the most part fine, but lately the screen empties suddenly without reason.

I have to force a shutdown.
Sometimes if I restart, the screen turns on but sometimes it won't.
I tried to plug it into a separate monitor and it works but I still have to keep forcing a stoppage which may not be good in the long term.

Once she wouldn't come at all and I did a restore of the disc but I don't want to keep this and all reloading.
The laptop was disappointing because I bought it and it was not cheap, so maybe time to replace it with a Toshiba model No.

All advice appreciated before it is abandoned.
Doesn't seem to be a problem of physical screen.
It runs on Windows 7 Edition home premium (as new)

    Thank you

I found a thread in which you posted a few years ago here in the forum:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49957

It seems that this issue could be still related to problems you had in the past.

As mentioned in the first thread, you have to update the BIOS to the latest state.
But if BIOS update day and installation of the new system (+ updating the graphics card driver) would not be useful, portable computer problems could be linked to a malfunction of the equipment.
