  My Toshiba laptop Satellite A30-871 began to discharge the battery while the power is connected (the LED shows that AC is connected but laptop consumes the battery power instead of loading battery and the use of current alternative). When the laptop achieved 0% battery turns off. Remove the power plug and reconnect do not resolve the problem, while the computer is turned on, only computer shutdown will begin the battery takes over. Which means that I can use portable so that battery retains some powers.   To be honest, I often work with connected AC/DC adapter, but I never removed my battery. Sometimes I decide to work in another room and then I just unplug the AC adapter and that s all the! :)

  We live a 20-second delay when you try to connect through Windows Explorer for some of the XP (SP3 and all updates if it excludes http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899409) PCs on our network.  For example, if I type \\10.10.10.7 in the address bar, it takes 20 seconds for the action to appear.  If I type \\10.10.10.7\Scans (a share on this PC), it goes through instantly.  I checked our Active Directory Windows Server 2003 DNS and forward and reverse zones look good.  I looked at the IP as the PC receive (10.10.10.n, 10.10.11.n, and 10.10.12.n) Windows DHCP server, and there is no correlation.  I tried to use different and checked the share and NTFS permissions user accounts, but this does not seem to matter.  I tried ipconfig, ping, tracert, arp, pathping, netsh diag gui and it all passes.  We have some PC located in work that work and other groups that do not work.  We have some PC related to our field that work and some that don't work.  We have some PC which sometimes gives behind us and sometimes we do not delay, we are certain that we always give delayed, and we never give us the delay.  We are in a high school environment, and the delay is causing many problems.  So if you have ideas on how to isolate the problem that could be appreciated.

  My laptop has stopped to connect to my home wireless network, a week ago.

  When trying to connect it says 'unable to connect to the network', or connects for a few seconds change a limited State, then falls down. (no assigned IP address) When we look at the WiFi adapter network adapters screen turns off during the disconnection then re-active.

  I tried to connect to the other connections wifi with the same result.

  Like you had the same problem using the external USB WiFi dongle, I don t think that this WiFi problem is related to internal Wlan card.
  I guess that the question could be related to the combination of WiFi card and router Wlan.

  I recommend you to reset the settings of the router.
  Reconfigure the router and don t of first set encryption. It's just for testing purposes. It would be interesting to know if it would be possible to connect to the open Wlan.

  The next step: disable the TCP/IPv6 protocol in the network settings to use only the old TCP/IPv4 protocol and wireless.

  Next step: update the ip address by using the command: + ipconfig / renew.
  (in search, type CMD to start the console and here you can use this command)

  Next step: disable the firewall and check the settings possible antivirus. Some antivirus software may affect the connectivity.
