Satellite A30 - Sound went a few weeks ago

Hello

A friend of the family has a Satellite A30-141 Tosh. Its top went a few weeks ago.

I checked the volume of material, the volume of software, stripped and put up-to-date audio drivers settings, then re-installed the chipset drivers and BIOS.

When you start Windows lappy sound shows two options (apparently did not do this before hand, it began it shortly before his death) start.
One for Windows Professional, one for Microsoft Windows.

So I think there may be a problem with it Windows Installer or it is hardware related.
My next step would be to back up its data and do a fresh install.

What are his chances of getting a new disc of recovery after four years (I don't think that it has already registered the lappy)?
I have not tried a restore point, now that I think of it, that's pretty silly to me :(

I saw in another thread that these laptops do not like XP SP3.
Could that be the cause of the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

The chances of getting the original recovery media for this oldie aren t so good, but for the installation of Windows XP Home edition, you can use Microsoft Original installations CD. I agree with you that the new installation of Windows XP Edition family can offer answers. To do this. Install Windows XP Home clean and please without SP3.

All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com for assistance
ARCHIVES of course. ;)

Please install this in order facilities described in the instructions of facilities document (also listed with all the drivers).

Good luck!
