Satellite A300 - CEC_MAIN. EXE error at startup

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 network and when I run Windows Vista and the error message is displayed. This error is cec_main.exe.

I have remove the camera assistant software and restart the computer, restart when Windows the message not to apears. I have install the camera assistant software, and this error again.

Does anyone have the solution?

Hello

The CEC_MAIN. EXE application belongs to the software of the camera, and if you have already tried to reinstall, you should check your firewall and security software.
I think that your security software is blocking this application in order to check this!

If it doesn't work remove the software and reboot the laptop. Use CCleaner to clean the system and reboot once again. After that, install the latest software for the Toshiba page.

    Hello

The CEC_MAIN.exe belongs to the webcam software as you already said then you should try to reinstall.

I put t know why this is happening, but why you n t try to reinstall? You can download on the European driver of Toshiba download page.

  • How to reinstall on Satellite A215 cec_main.exe?

I use a Toshiba Satellite A215-4708, with Vista Home Premium.
When I restart my laptop, I get the error telling me to reinstall cec_main.exe. I already know that it is related to my webcam. I have run full antivirus scans and found nothing. I deleted the drivers for the webcam using the recovery disk that came with my laptop and reinstalled them. During the reinstallment I get the error again. Once I have uninstall the driver for the webcam I do not receive the error when you restart.

I went online and search for solutions, and I tried everything I could find including the verification of my McAfee security software to trust point I've seen on other security software. I even used the Toshiba websites for webcam Installer and get the same results.

Is it really possible to reinstall the cec_main.exe?
    What are my options?

As far as I know using the recovery disk you may not remove or reinstall single drivers, tools, or utilities, but install the operating system and have once again the factory settings.
It will be interesting to know what you did exactly.

By the way: where you bought this A215-4708? I thought that this is an American model, but I can't find it on the Toshiba U.S. support page.

looking for postponed for your help...

    Thank you...

I have very good experiences with Satellite A300 and Win7 installation. No problem at all.
I can see on the download page of Toshiba that your model of laptop is fully supported for Win7 and everything you need to do is install all the stuff of Toshiba in order of good facilities.

    My order of facilities is:
    -Win7 Home Premium (new installation)
    -chipset driver
    -Storage Manager
    -display driver
    -driver sound
    -modem driver
    -utility supervisor
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    Hardware - toshiba
    Control - HDMI
    -WLAN driver

Everything works well but lacks some drivers

    Added Vista tips:
Toshiba - help - working properly
    -Card reader - installed correctly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
    Driver - Synaptics

I don't really know what you're doing wrong. Maybe some background process block put into regular service.
I recommend to try again and make easy step by step following my list and let me know what stage you will be faced with the issue described.

  • Satellite L10 - Hotkey.exe error after booting Windows 2000

I've installed Windows 2000 on my Satellite L10 rather
XP. After installing the utility Hotkey-I get an Error Message at every boot:

Hotkey.exe - Entry Point not found
The procedure entry point WTSUnRegisterSessionNotification could not be loaded into the WTSAPI32.dll dynamic link library.

Same error Message When you try to manually start the Hotkey.exe.

How can I solve this problem? The system works, but the
    Keys not.
Thank you in advance for help!

P.S.: As I read on the web, this error has nothing to do with the missing operating system XP - maybe the HotKey software does not work with Windows 2000. Where can I get a Hotkey software work for Windows 2000 for Satellite L10?
I try to find it on the download from Toshiba site, but there is that some drivers for the L10 on Toshiba.com and the European server are only readers for XP :(

    Hi turmeric

All the drivers, tools, and utilities are designed separately for each operating system. This means that you can not use tools designed for Windows XP Home edition with other operating system. You don't find utilities and tools because your device is not supported for the Windows 2000 operating system.
    I'm sorry.

Firstly all what laptop, you have exactly and what OS you are using?

I already read about it here in the forum and, normally, this error message appears if a security program (e.g. Firewall) blocks this program and you will have to unlock this file in the firewall. When searching the forum I founded it and maybe it s useful to you:

  • Satellite A300 PSAGCA - 02Y010 - error: driver Webcam open failed

    Problem:
Receive error whenever I try to use the camera for Toshiba support software: Webcam driver open failed. Restart the computer or the camera. Webcam does not work in Skype. It seems that it is a very common problem with the A300s series, but there is no clear solution there.

    Material
    Series: A300
    Model: PSAGCA-02Y010

    Software
Operating system: Windows 7 64 bit
Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba: 1.7.175.0123

    Details
I recently did a clean install of Windows 7, Windows Vista update. I've never used the web cam on Windows Vista, so I can't testify as to whether or not the web camera is workin properly. However, when I tried to use it with Skype, it did not work. I reinstalled the driver that I backed up before I installed the new operating system, but it did not work. The web cam does not appear at all in Device Manager - even when the value for show hidden devices. Trying new material added through the control panel fails to detect the webcam at all. I rebooted after each installation/repair of the driver.

    Measures taken

    Reinstalled drivers saved
I used the third-party software (Double Driver) to back up and reinstall the drivers for the webcam after I installed Windows 7. Double Driver claimed there was no device to install the driver. Manually, I copied the files in the folder using the camera and replaced existing ones. The files I copied were:
    casflr.cat
    oem34.inf
    Restore.ini
    UVCFTR_S.SYS

Pilots relocated from site Web from Toshiba
Vast Goolging turned only recommendations to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. I was unable to find the drivers for windows 7 64 bit, but I tried for my laptop model for Windows Vista 64 - bit - no luck. I tried to install software camera for Toshiba support, as far as I know, including the driver - it gives me the error described above.

I also tried to find a universal Windows 7 driver for the webcam - I was unable to find one.

Check the registry value is Correct
I tried also checked the registry value to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/ControlSet001/Enum/USB/SN001/ClassUID corresponds to the value in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\64bit\casflr.inf as and C:\Program Files (x 86) \Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\32bit\casflr.inf recommended by some article is recommended.

Please, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I've exhausted all the options I can think.

    Probable solution:
I met a thread post who suggested a loose wire was responsible and that the camera could work when the cover is almost closed. I tried this and the camera suddenly appeared in the Device Manager. However, I still can't make it work with Camera Assistant Software or Skype.

Does this mean that webcam does not appear in Device Manager if the cover is open right?
In this case, it seems that there is no link between the webcam and the motherboard.
As far as I know as the internal cam is connected to the controller card USB mother s and possibly there is a bad connection.

Possible solution: I think that the technician needs to disassemble the laptop to check the connection :(

I have actully solved my problem. What I had to do was reboot the machine and after Vista installation was done I did the installation of battery first Manager and just downloaded from the section the T61 drivers (without using the update system) then once the battery Manager installation manual was full (it was then works well) I ran the system update to install the rest of the drivers and utilities Lenovo. If apperentally battery meter do not be installed via updater. My sugestion would be so to reload the machine once more and battery Manager install before running system update this is what worked for me.
