Hello
It seems that your drive is defective and must be replaced. If he doesn t open more you can nothing do I think.
But you can open the drive if you go into the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, you should contact the service provider authorized in your country. They can replace the drive of your. If it of under warranty, the repair should be free for you.
Good luck! :)

Satellite A200 - DVD player does not open
Hello
I had no computer laptop withmy problems so far and my DVD/CD does not open. I'm not savvy in same computer so bear with me! There is no lights there at the moment and when I turn on the laptop it does not sound like he used to. I looked on other forums and tried things like access to the Device Manager, but it says that it is on it - any other suggestions would be welcome.
Oh, and I get no error message and in Device Manager its says that "the device works correctly.
See you soon
Hello
You can try to open the CD/DVD drive using something small and thin. Near the eject button, you should find a small hole.
You have to slide - in the little thing and should manually open the CD/DVD drive. Then try to insert a CD or DVD disc and close the CD/DVD drive.
Check if the drive can read data from the disc.I would recommend also check if the CD/DVD drive would eject the disc by pressing eject button check different opportunities.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then restart the laptop

Satellite A660 - DVD player does not recognize some DVD
I have a new Satellite A660-17th with a drive HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N, running under Windows 7 64-bit.
The reader will read most DVDs. Commercial DVD (region 2) are very good. However, there are problems with the DVD recorded with DVD recorders. Recordings of DVD + R using a Philips machine work very well. DVD + R and DVD - R using a Sony HDX 1095 of RDR machine do not work.
I hope that the disc is ok and that this problem can be solved by changing some settings or other?
Any ideas?Hey,.
If commercial DVDs are working properly, it s final related to your own created DVD recorder of DVD.
It s knows not to adjust something on the DVD player without region codeIn my opinion, you should test different brands of DVD to check which is compatible with all devices.
My favorite is Verbatim DVD - R TDK also makes good discsCheck this box!

Satellite A50: DVD player does not read DVD only CD
On my Satellite A50 DVD drive can only read CDs now but not DVD. So I'm not able to use the recovery disc.
My BIOS is up to date, I think.Hello
Well, what can I say? For me, this looks like a disk failure.
Maybe the lens can not calibrate properly and that's why the drive is able to read the CD.
I don't think that the replacement of disc will help you :( -

Satellite P25-S520 - DVD player does not work properly
Difficulty of DVD player or buy the external drive
My DVD player does not work properly, in fact it can never work properly. Recently, I tried to back up my PC on a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize that the DVD was present. Then I tried to write a text file on a DVD and was a failure. DVD + R and DVD-R media were found to be (Maxwell 16 X).
I could have probably lived with this however, I received a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my laptop nearby and it was recognized.
An attempt to update the driver has also fails.
I was able to copy a CD of music last night so that at least works properly.
Does anyone know how can I fix? The important part is to be able to load my new program.
Research on some forums I found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive can't be fixed, I'm not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?
Thanks for any help,

PIONEER DVD - RW DVR-K12D
Driver provider: Microsoft
Driver date: 01/07/2001
Driver version: 5.1.2535.0
Digital signer: Microsoft Windows PublisherAny external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.
However, you won't be able to boot from CD (run recovery for example) If you are using an external drive.
So, your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and request a quote.

Satellite A100-447 - DVD player does not read some discs
Hello
I have a 4 month old Satellite 100-447 (PSAAN), came preloaded with Vista Home Premium and a carpet * CD/DVD super-multi UJ-850 s player.
The DVD player does not work properly. It will recognize a few blank, but never DVD-R DVD and won't recognise any DVD at all serious. He is very good with CD and DVD movie discs. It's just recordable DVD where there is a problem.
Also when you try to write to a DVD, when he chooses to recognize a TI-error in half way through.
What can I do?
Thanks for your help.
AdamHello
You can do the follwowing:
Go to this website http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp,
Download the latest update of the firmware for this drive, install it, and then try again.
Sometimes, the manufacturer must update their readers for the newer recordable media and so I think that it is possible that your drive is simply not up to date.

On Qosmio G20 DVD player does not work
On my laptop dvd player does not work perfectly.
I can watch DVDs and CDs, but I can't burn CDs or DVDs at all. This laptop is a former view model and think that when I bought the store I bought it since deleted most of the information
Help, please
Thank you
Hello
There are two possible reasons why you are not able to copy anything to the CD or DVD.
First, it may be possible that the drives used are not entirely compatible.
In such cases, it s always advisable to test different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.Secondly, the issue could be related to a defective laser lens; in many cases, this can happen because of a physical constraint. If the laser lens can not calibrate in a good position, then the player will not be able to handle the inserted discs.
This could be the worst case, because this issue is not repairable. Just a STRANGE replacement could help. -
My HP pavilion 14-n014nr dvd player does not work. Tried a driver fix earlier and it still does not. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. The sooner, the better.
This is the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 if it matters.
Hello
In this case, runs through the procedure in respect of the resolution subtopic - method 3: manually difficulty corrupt registry entries on the link below to remove upper and lower filters and see if that fixes the problem.

All the other standard size DVD, CD works good about it. Its complex and as well as irritating.
Any suggestions?
Why his messedup?Seems that the lens cannot read this miniDVD s. Maybe cannot calibrate the lens of the drive and the miniDVD is so illegible.
Try the sascha. Maybe you are a lucky man, and it works.
If this is not the case, try to remove the drive physically from the laptop. Restart the laptop without the drive. The BIOS and Windows shouldn't t recognizes the drive.
Then stops again, put the drive in the notebook and the startup of the device.
The laptop should recognize the drive and must indicate the firmware again.I don't know if this will help but it s attemptable m

My DVD player does not open when I click on the button
Hello
I hope someone can help me.
My DVD player does not open when I click on the button.I tried clicking on eject on the DVD drive icon in my computer and it comes up with an error message.
I think I deleted the cookies the other day. Who would have something to do with the problem?Any help would be greatly appreciated that I really don't want to send my phone to a technician.
Hello
Try to manually open the CD/DVD drive.
Near the eject button, you will find a small hole. You can use a small object like staple and could push gently into this hole.
Usually, this should help to open the drive manually.
