Hello

> ive tried 4 different vista disks that work fine on other computers, as I have tried

It looks like something wrong with the hard drive. I recommend you format the hard disk with programs like Partition magic, Disk Manager Arcoins. You should make a disk bootable cd and boot from it to format the hard drive before installing Vista. Furthermore, you have formatted partition during the installation of Vita? There is an option to format the partition selected during the installation of windows. You see, I met some users who tried to install windows without formatting the selected partition.

    Hello

What you can try is to install Vista using disk HARD recovery option.
How it works, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

If it works all the data saved on the C partition will be deleted but the data saved on the D partition will always be there.

    Hello

Sat A300 and other new models of laptops are equipped with HARD drive recovery option. This HARD drive recovery should allow you to recover the laptop without the use of all disks.
In order to start the procedure for HARD drive recovery, you need to press F8. Then choose the first option called fix my computer. Then new window pops up and there you have to choose Toshiba HDD recovery. All that s.

But if this procedure don't work (no matter why) then you will need to use the Toshiba recovery disc. If you n t create a floppy disk for recovery of a hand and the laptop will not start, then you will have to buy a drive for recovery of this page:

  • Vista will not load?

Vista will not load on my laptop I want to put Windows 7 on it just nee do the upgrade or I have to do the full install?

Install Windows 7 to try to resolve a problem of Vista is never a good idea. You must fix the problem Vista and then upgrade; or download a full version of Windows 7 and install it.  Try to upgrade a non-working Vista system will likely cause bad results.

    Hello everyone.

Today I turned on my laptop A300 and does not load the operating system. In other words, Toshiba logo appears, the message "Press F2 to enter SETUP", but not in continuity with the boot. Yesterday it worked and did not update the BIOS or something else.

Someone has an idea? I deleted a both SDRAM and vice versa, to check that the problem wasn't RAM, but no. There is no beep. LED touch 'NumLock' and other, power on and off when I have impulses, so the keyboard responding but by pressing F2 or F12 does nothing.

Thank you very much for your help.

Start your laptop with F8 and test if you can start the operating system in safe mode.

  • Satellite L300 laptop will not load Windows

    I have a model of Satellite L300 number PSLB0A - 00L 022 running windows Vista.

The problem is that it does not load Windows. It starts ok and I can access the boot manager and the Setup utility and that's it. It stops just loading.
After studying the problem, I ran a car aptitude test and the result was the error code 0 x 70. After looking at the code I m under the impression that I need to erase the disc. I have no problem with that.

My question is - if I run the windows Recovery Wizard will be it solve my problem? I will have to re install vista at all? All advice is appreciated!

Hello Jane and welcome in the Toshiba forum

After reading your ad, I must say that the best solution and easier for you is to reinstall the operating system via original Toshiba recovery DVD. This DVD contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools. After recovery image installation you will get state out-of-box and clean the preinstalled operating system.

Yes, this should solve your problem. Please note: when you do it all saved data will be deleted.

You have some important data saved on your laptop?
Do not use this disc reinstall Vista and everything should be ok again.

    Hello Wayne

In front of me, I have Satellite P500 and I use it almost 10 months now without a single update. What I'm updating are important updates from Microsoft. More than that and so far I didn't notice a single hardware or software problem.
After reading your ad m a little confused.

As far as I know Toshiba doesn't offer any DVD for that laptop, not any kind of pilot DVD so please be so kind and tell me which DVD driver is and who has created and offered this DVD.

Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  • Vista will not load and continually reboots, recovery disk does not start.

I have a Dell with vista on it. Recently, it has automatically installed an update and now it does not load Windows at all. It goes to the screen where I have the opportunity to "start in safe mode" "safe mode with command promt", "last known good configuration" etc. and none of these work options (all start loading them upwards and then the computer restarts just itself).

I tried to put in the cd of installation for vista, but it won't start. I changed the options in the BIOS so that it starts from the CD first, but then it just goes to another blue screen that says: there was some sort of system faliure, and the only option is to restart the computer.

I also tried to connect an external dvd player to see if he was not playing the disc because of a defect in material, but the same thing happens.

I also tried out the RAM and it put it back again (a single website suggested I try this).

Nothing seems to work! And now, I am out of options and have no idea what to try next - help!

    http://support.Dell.com/

If it does not start where install Recovery DVD from Dell, you will need to contact Dell at the above address.
As you say, you have changed the boot on the appropriate drive order and still nothing

It would seem that you have a deeper problem that just a straight reinstall the problem.

  • Satellite A300 PSAG8E does not load

I have a Toshiba Satalite A300 PSAG8E, which does not load.
I was given a few days ago by a person stating that he is not working or light - vague details.

At the reception that he turned on, asked to start windows normally or not, then started absolutely perfect, it powered by the charger, no problem.

I let him on during some time different tasks.
I came to him a few days later to find that he had himself set to off.

I enabled again, how he asked to start windows normally or not. I started normally, and it came on the property.
Since then I could not to power it on the sector.

    Why not load it now?

    Hi mate

    > Since I could not to power it on the sector.
    > Why didn't he care now?

I m a bit but confused. What's wrong now? You are not able to feed the device or battery is not charging?

If you are not able to turn on the unit, then you should try this:
-Disconnect the battery and AC adapter
    -wait a while (2-3 hours)
-connect the two parties to laptop and check again

If your battery does not load:
Try to update the BIOS and set its default value
If that does not help, then the battery should be checked
If the new battery does not solve the problem, then the motherboard must be checked and replaced if necessary.

  • Satellite Pro U500 will not load

    Hi all

I have a little used old U500 of 2 years, and I am puzzled.

A few weeks ago I noticed my light on and it would not charge battery charge.
I didn't watch the charger light on the transformer - which was lit, so ended up paying £20 for a battery note that it would not yet of course load wasn't a bad battery.

On the plug-in transformer/charger light showed green so I guess then it must be a faulty Jack inside my machine because there was able to get out the transformer plug / the green light is on.

Today I disassembled the machine and I have replaced the plug connector on the motherboard - no problem, it starts and it is not yet taken on a charge. I have spent £30 on this piece of cr@p so far, should I now buy a new cable from charger etc?

I have a faulty plug/transformer - despite the green light showing that is powered or is there anything else I can try?

The charge or power on my laptop light is lighting up.

    Help, please!

    see you soon
    Craig

    Hello

I would be really surprised if someone here would be able to tell what's wrong with the laptop, I doubt that this is possible without test equipment and execution of some hardware diagnostic tests.

    > Have I not a defective/transformer Plug - despite the green light showing that is powered or is there anything else I can try?

I don t think that the power adapter is faulty. As I understand you, the laptop features and you can use it plugged in. This means the AC adapter to power the laptop and this means that the adapter is ok.
In General, you should be able to use the laptop, even if the battery is removed. So in my opinion, it seems like that the question must be related to electronic on motherboard problems because the new battery does not solve this problem of load

By the way: it's your BIOS up-to-date? Would be interesting to check this
