one of my clients sent me to fix a toshiba Satellite Pro L300...

  • Satellite Pro L300 will not start - cannot get into the BIOS

    Dear,

I got a satellite Pro L300, width a HARD drive partitioned, with Win XP installed C and D with Windows 7 installed, the problem is the following:

Days when I turned on my laptop, the OS splash screen appears, stop boot on Toshiba logo process.
In addition, I can't enter the BIOS with the F2 key or the Boot Manager by using the F12 key.

    Help, please.

    > stop boot on Toshiba logo process
This means that the laptop can not pass the POST (power on self test) properly and it would mean that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.

Remove one of the modules RAM (check both) and try to turn on using a single module of RAM.
It is possible that one of the RAM modules is defective

It would also be possible that the motherboard is malfunctioning, as you can see, it is hard to say what role could be wrong, but what looks like a serious hardware failure

  • Satellite L500-1ZP - key to enter the BIOS version 2.10 and the upgrade of RAM

    Hello

    I have two questions:

    1. I recently updated my bios version of laptops to 2.10 and replaced the hard drive with an SSD.
However, it seems that I can't enter the BIOS more.

I tried several buttons, but it just won't let me get bios of the laptop more.
Which button to use to access the BIOS?

    2. I want to upgrade the standard amount of memory from 4 GB to 8 GB.
Are there recommended RAM sets should I use because of compatibility issues?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind regards.

To access the BIOS press F2 at the beginning of the order started immediately after you have switched on the device, press F2 (press several times on the line)

    > 2. I want to upgrade the standard amount of memory from 4 GB to 8 GB.

Toshiba Satellite L500-1ZP laptop takes the type of RAM SODIMM SDRAM PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 MHz 204pin. I would recommend the manufacturer Kingston modules.

  • Satellite M40X-112: WLAN not working not

    Hello

I got a M40X-112 and had some problems recently with my wifi connection. The router works (tested with other customers) and the regular LAN on laptop computer makes it work. But 2 weeks ago I wanted to access the internet and it stoped working.

I just tried to reinstall my OS but nothing has changed. Always the connection works occasionally for 2 seconds max.

    What could be the problem?

    Hello

First check in the area to network adapters Device Manager if the wireless network card is correctly recognized
If not, download the latest Wlan driver and install it...

Then check all of the WLan settings on your laptop.
I recommend checking the encryption and the validity of the key.

Try disabling encryption on the router and try to connect to the WLan without security settings.
If everything works, you can set the rear security settings.

  • Equium M40X does not work properly after upgrading the BIOS

OK, well... I'm not a computer scientist, but I have a bit of trouble on my hands and I don't know where to go for the right help, so I came here.

Today I started my lappy to confront an illuminous Green Office... not all it is green just of great spots here and there. Happened to me before, but it disappears after about 15 minutes, but today his guarded it usually hours and is still as he.

I looked everywhere on the net for a possible fix but nothing helped, even though I've heard somewhere that an update of the BIOS might do the trick, so natually, I did... I came here and searched for my Equium M40X, found, downloaded and installed the latest version...

but now I have a screen with a resolution of half of what it should be, it went from 1200 x 800 or something like that... to 1024 x 786 and I always get the green screen problem... the program toshiba provided for the update of the BIOS does a backup file (BIOS. (BAK)...

I can't restore the old BIOS would set the screen resolution, but I'm just helpless as to how I go about it. I find the file, but I have no way to open/run it

I've had this laptop for about 2 years now, I know probably just getting old and a bit tempermental, but if theres no way you people out there can help, I would much apreciate it :)

    Thanks a bunch - Ash

    Hello

I Don t think the biosupdate is the reason for the reduced screen. It does not sound like a software thing, but rather a hardware malfunction.

Is your normal screen during startup? If so, I'd say just remove your existing display drivers and install the new. But if it s like you described then it must be a hardware problem and the machine should be checked by a technician or at least a service partner.

Would be better if your bring your machine to an ASP for a checkup of material.
If you need assistance to find the ASP closest, try this link (the ASP index):

  • M100 satellite disk restore will not work, keeps on rebooting the laptop

    Hello

I have a M100 I need to restore to out of box state. XP is running too slow and after getting some internet pop ups of facebook, the laptop is having issues.

Now, I tried to run the program of restoration of the drive and it happens with ramdisk boot, then the f6 press to install an aditional drivers, then wait.
The mouse cursor appears on the screen and it can be moved around, then the laptop restarts just.

I tried this several times and with main power and with and without the battery while on the grid.

I suspected it was a problem of hard disk or a boot sector virus, which prevents the program of restoration of the race. However, I tried a new hard drive and it still does the same thing.
I changed the RAM and still does not. About a year or two ago I had to restore the laptop as the HARD drive died and I replaced it with another hard drive on a different Toshiba laptop and it worked fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need this laptop for school

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but one thing in this story is strange. Why load additional driver?

If you want to have out of the box to install OS, you must use the Toshiba CD/DVD facilities sent. Using this disk, you do not need to load anything, just start the recovery procedure, let it run and when you're done just restart your laptop. That all s that you do.

So, if you have this original Toshiba drive please do as follow:
Start your laptop and press F12 repeatedly
When the boot menu appears recovery disc into the optical disc drive
In the list, choose the CD/DVD device and press ENTER
Follow the menu on the screen

The product key on my Satellite Pro P300 does not work.
I entered the key from the sticker on the back of the computer. What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

    Why use this product key?

Firstly the Toshiba recovery image is already enabled and you don t need this key more activations.

Second, it's an OEM key and it will not work with other versions of Vista!

  • Satellite L300-215 - Webcam not working not

The webcam on my Satellite L300-215 did not work because I downloaded the new software of Toshiba months ago.
The Chicony webcam is not yet recognized, and it will not install the Toshiba software.

Two hours with Toshiba technical staff, including their having access remote to my computer, does not solve the problem.
It seems that this is a very common problem and I tried some of the suggestions on the assignments, but without result.

Anyone out there have the answer?

I have two laptops Toshiba, Satellite P200D and Satellite A300, both with webcam and everything works fine. I agree therefore with statement on the very common problem.
Webcam works well if your laptop is preinstalled with recovery image Toshiba (factory settings)?

  • Satellite L500 - keyboard does not work

    Hello

I have Vista L500 with a dead keyboard. This machine has not been abandoned or anything it is spilled on it. I plugged USB keyboard external that works. The laptop keyboard does not work. I flashed the BIOS, update drivers, held shift for 10 sec (read on another forum), reset computer, check the updates of Windows Vista and ran 3 checks of Virus.
Everything is perfect, just no keyboard?

What should I check? What is a motherboard problem?

    Thanks for any help :)

    Hello

Can enter you the BIOS (F2 key) with internal keyboard?
If it isn't the internal keyboard seems to be defective and must be replaced

I don t think you can do more. I mean you've tried everything what is possible and if an external keyboard works the installation of the OS should be ok.

The keyboard can be ordered and replaced from an authorized service provider. Do you know how to contact the guys?
