  Since I had my A50 from 2 1/2 years I had intermittent problems with this DVD player. It has finally packed in and I need to replace the drive, so I can use the product recovery CD

  I tried to find my computer's master/slave settings while I'm able to find a correct drive to replace it with.

  Anyone know what the parameters are, or what kind of car I could use to replace it with

  I have a Satellite A50 who I am rebuilding. I insert the recovery disk came with the laptop. I get a window with the message
  "This recovery and Applications CD is not configured to work with this machine (laptop). This CD is for: Satellite A50. Please use the good recovery and Applications CD".

  I'm looking at this message. I look at my laptop with Satellite A50 wrote about it. And I don't know what to do next. Can anyone help?

  The problem is that Toshiba provides official information on compatible HARD disk HARD disk sizes.
  But I've studied a bit in the internet and the following four sizes of hard drives must be supported:
  20 GB; 30 GB; 40 and possibly the 60 GB.

  Update CPU's official unsupported. This means that no one can say what will run the latest processors or not. Maybe you need also a new cooling fan, who knows?

  The laptop already came with the 100 GB (5400 RPM) SATA HDD.
  The higher speed (7200 RPM) HARD drive shouldn't have a bad influence on the compatibility of the HARD disk!

  But I don t think that greater speed of HARD drive will increase the performance of the laptop immensely. Of course, it s best to use a 7200 RPM HARD drive as a 5400 RPM HARD drive, but the difference is not really noticeable.

  However, the compatible hard drives can also be purchased from the ASP in your country.

  You can upgrade the processor, but I think that it is not worth.
  A new s processor cost a lot of money and you won't get much more performance and the new processor is not compatible with your motherboard or BIOS.
  The GPU is not extensible because it s soldered onto the motherboard.

  I'm trying to do a clean install on my laptop, but the recovery disk is not working.
  The files transferred to the laptop, but once done, I get an error message that says: "the system is not fully installed. Please run Setup again."

  In my opinion, this would help to pinpoint the problem
  The error message can be linked to different issues; I mean the HARD drive or a single partition problem could also be possible.

  Try to format the drive HARD whole again. Delete all partitions from the HARD drive and check if you can proceed with the installation.

  But if you will not be able to install the OS by using the recovery disk and other disks then a question must relate to a part of the material. (possibly HDD)
