Satellite A500/042 - Vista restarts in a loop

Bought new computer was installing Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

Installed the system, then it was the system configuration, them he just started to reboot loop.
I tried the F8 key, but it gives administrator and user.

Administrator is not valid, the user is also invalid.
It seems that it has not defined the last part correctly.

Can someone then suggest what to do before I sound Toshiba.
No CD to use as system on the HARD drive.

Thanks in advance.
Ed

Hi mate

You didn t get the recovery disc because the recovery in place on the HARD disk image.
You could restore the system using the disk HARD recovery option.
To do this, you must press F8, then must choose to fix my computer.
Then you should be abele to choose the Toshiba Recovery option.
Please chose this... It will start the recovery

Once the recovery is complete, create the recovery DVD using the tool preinstalled called creative recovery disk Toshiba!

  • Satellite A500-17 X restarts all by playing games

    Hi all
I've had my toshiba satellite a500-17 x for about two years, I bought to play Starcraft and world of warcraft. Since I got it I had a problem with it. While playing games it would suddenly reboot the laptop. I contacted customer support and has it been reduced to see if they can find out what was wrong with her. They said that it was fine and it must be the games software that was causing the problem. (I don't think that this is the problem because I reinstalled all the software and the problem persisted)

I felt they were trying to bluff me with this answer. They did not have an inspection into debt to try to resolve the problem or I thought that the model itself was wrong.

In any case, I wanted to say that the laptop can sometimes play fine for hours, but other days it will crash repeatedly.

I just want to point something; my graphics driver is updated. My vents are quite clear. The temperature is stable. I put the maximum power management. I play with a battery and the laptop is plugged. This happened also to a cold start.

During the restart I don't give me any warning. The laptop turns just stop (no beeps, no blue screen) and restarts.

I've never posted here before, and I would really appreciate your help.

I know that this has been a problem in the past with this model that I searched the forums for solutions, but I can't find one.

If you know a solution, I would be very grateful.
    Thank you

    Hello

I fear that you will not be able to find a quick fix here Mr. all that you have done is just and you use your laptop on the right way.
Have you noticed this problem while using laptop for daily activities or that comes into play only? Is original recovery image Toshiba preinstalled on your laptop or use clean install of the OS?
    >... I just want to point something; my graphics driver is up to date
What it means? Using the Toshiba download page display driver or you have installed the driver on the graphics card manufacturer page?

  • Satellite A500-17 x restart automatically if I play Warhammer

    Hello
I just bought a Satellite A500-17 x a few days ago. There is a very big prblem with laptop is.

When I play the game Warhammer Online, the laptop will automatically resart every time. Little time is 10 minutes, sometimes is 20minuts. First time I thought is a
problem of temperature but the laptop isn't too hot anyway. I have try to disable the restart to see there is no information, unluckly the laoptop always restart automatically when I play the game.

Can help me Fig that out?

    Hello

This only happens if you play Warhammer Online or in other games too? Have you noticed this problem only on Windows?

At the moment it is not easy to say why this happens, but you need to update the display driver. Check the Toshiba site for an update:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

It is important that you use a display of a 3rd party site driver because only Toshiba drivers have overheating protection.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what operating system you are running. Is it preinstalled OS from Toshiba or another?

  • Satellite A500 - 1C0 - auto restart when reading or watching television

    Hello.

I have a big problem with Satellite A500 - 1C0. When I play the game, after 10-20 minutes of play come automatic restart. I can fix this?
Or when I look at the pit TV Tuner Express Card (it's sometimes so hot) but I can't watch TV with auto restart after 10-15 minutes...

Please help me with this problem...

    Hello

Looks like your laptop is overheating ;)

You must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. Blow air gently and shortly into the holes of the case.
It of necessary to clean the cooling system from time to time. I do it every 3 months.

By the way: what display driver you are using? If you use a Toshiba not display driver remove and install the latest version of the Toshiba page.

  • Satellite A500-19W - suddenly restarts during games

    Hello guys,.

I recently got a new Satellite A500-19W, but just playing games, it restarts all of a sudden.
No idea what could be causing this and how to solve it.

    Thank you

    Hi Malek_1,

This happened to me also on Satellite A300. The reason is because my laptop was overheating and so I decided to clean using compressed air stream. It's pretty easy because that's why it s not necessary to disassemble the laptop and it blows the dust from the cooling fans.
    Check this box!

In addition, in Windows power management, you can choose between different methods of cooling. I use the maximum performance mode.

  • Satellite A500 - 17 X restarts while gaming

    I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite A500 - 17 X to pc world.
I also bought a 500 GB external drive (works with power!) & installed a few games on the outside [modern grid & ware2].
I turn on the pc (with no battrey inside, only through his power) & started playing the grid, after awhile rebooted pc a black screen appeared (I could choose to run in safe mode, normal etc...). I also tried modern warfare 2 & the same thing happened.

Would it be a fault of my external HARD drive or my laptop? or maybe due to the fact that I played a powerful game with just the power supply?

    Thanks :)

    Hi mate

I doubt that this happens because the battery was not inserted.
You have connected the right USB external HARD drive?
The transfer of data from the USB ports is not designed to transmit data of large game.
I think it might be a question you need to install the games on the HARD internal disk and it should test again.

Graphics card driver should also be updated.

  • Satellite A500-17 x restarts

I recently received my A500-17 x back from repair, and now whenever I play a game, about 10 to 20 minutes in (sometimes as little as 5 seconds, however.) will restart the laptop. No error/blue screen. It happened only once before the repair as far as I can remember, and I thought nothing of it; assuming it had overheated. Now, reboot to happen sometimes within 5 seconds to run a game, is certainly not an overheating problem, as in many cases, the problem occurs within minutes of the start, the laptop is cold to the touch. There were several discussions on this forum who have addressed this problem, it is not just me live this. Other threads suggest unplugging the AC adapter. and although this does not work, it is almost ideal for playing games without the laptop on the current soon tracks down the stack, and as such, it is not really a "fix." After the upgrade to internet explorer for IE9, I find now that I have to turn off hardware acceleration in the browser as leaving also causes the seemingly random reboots. I also found that finally the DWM would cause this problem too, although it seems to be much less common - requiring several hours of use.

    Other discussions for reference:
    [t 59014]
    [t 49339]
    [t 58989]

Someone pointed out that in view of the motherboard replaced solved the problem for him. If so, a reference number for this particular motherboard would be greatly appreciated, as would any information reguarding a real "fix" for this issue. If you too are experiancing this issue; Thanks for posting to tell you the problem as it would be interesting to see how many owners A500 facing this problem.

    Hey Buddy,

I think you can compare t your problem / laptop with other A500 son because you wrote that this problem appeared after repair and before that everything was ok.

If you haven't changed anything about the software and the installation I would be contacted again authorized service provider or have you already done this? It would be interesting to know what guys say this behavior, but I think they will offer you controlled the laptop again and solve this problem.

Then get in touch with the local ASP and explain your situation and guys will help you you get rid of this :)

  • Satellite A500 - crashes and restarts when I play games

    Help, please

For these last months, I had a problem with my laptop crashing and restarting in 10-20 minutes from a game.

Please help, give me ideas or tell me how to find out what the problem is, I have read a few other discussions to talk about questions of heat but no real answer on how to solve the problem.

    Help, please
    Thank you
    D

    Hi Dale.Johnston,

Overheating would be a typical pattern of this behavior. I mean, that's if the laptop has a higher internal temperature and it will immediately fit to protect the equipment. Then it the normal behavior of s from overheating.

Overheating may have different reasons. In most cases it's dust that blocks the fan. This would mean that you have to clean the cooling system of your laptop using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans.

Generally, it should help. If this isn't the case, I would check the display driver. What display driver and operating system you are using?
If you install the display driver Toshiba not they can also cause overheating if it recommendable s using Toshiba pretested drivers only. ;)

  • Problem with Windows7 upgrade - Satellite A500

I bought a portable Satellite A500 with Vista 32 bit Home Premium.
It came with an upgrade to Windows 7, which I completed the process of installation/uninstallation of upgrade Vista Home Premium 32 bit for Windows 7 32 bit on the Toshiba site, before the beginning of the DVD of windows 7 installation process.

After restarting my computer in step 6, I have a message "new hardware found - base system device" I tried to search c: and I tried the Windows 7 DVD for the specific file searching and can't locate it.

The installation/uninstallation deleted the drivers to connect to the internet.

Can't seem to start installing Windows 7 from the DVD.

    Help, please.

    Hello

    Windows 7 ask the driver!
It s not installed on the C or the DVD of Win 7.

I assume that you have improved the Vista to Win 7 and installed not cleaning.
I recommend a clean installation, because Windows 7 would reinstall and will not use the applications that were pre-installed on Vista.
In many cases these apps are not entirely compatible with Win 7.

After the clean install of Windows 7, you could install Windows 7 drivers you will find on the pages of Toshiba.

But Win 7 drivers are not published on Toshiba page European right now
If you could use a Toshiba page us to get drivers or should check the European page later

  • Satellite A500 - 19(d) - blue screens and restarts suddenly

I am the most unfortunate customer or this model again? No one has problems with the A500 - 19(d)?
I bought, five days ago a new. First start: blue screen. Second: blue screen. Third: F8 safe mode → → can through the entire current configuration.
Then start: party started. A few times the blue pro displays time and restarts. Tempro have 2 messages based: BIOS and WLAN driver update. Update BIOS message: your BIOS is newer or the same thing. Updated WLAN: no driver for my Realtek RTL819 * 1 * SE for Win7.

Two days in vain have off turned parts and drivers downloaded. Third day: I have restored the laptop in its original original (thanks to the recovery of hard disk based) configuration and wanted to put back to give. But a small miracle happens (it's Christmas... or?)  :-)): no more blue screens. OK... just to start, it starts two or three times until OK and then just two or three times suddenly restarts a day. Yet once the drivers downloaded in vain. No change. Someone has an idea? It must be something wrong with the drivers in safe mode, that's OK. Again, there should be a driver it is loaded at startup (blue screen of the first and the second). I really like this laptop but have bought for work not for pleasure and, in this way, its quite risky, so I have to change them.

Stand by. Maybe I've misunderstood something and have to ask you once again: have you noticed this BSOD problem with State factory and without additional software installation?

Last month I had friends Satellite A500 for the test and I did not notice this kind of problems with original Vista and also clean install of Win7.
If you really think that it can be risky for you I recommend you exchange it again.
