Satellite A660 - no audio output after you connect it to external speakers

HI everyone, this is my first post and to vary, I have a problem.

I have a Satellite A660 11 M and when I connect to a 2.1 system audio external on 3'5 mm jack plug I hear the sound of the harman/kardon speakers, but not the 2.1 System.
I have an Asus eeepc and works very well. Cable flawless work, is something in the configuration.

I update the realtek and nvidia drivers and still out of work. Always when I connect the cable, realtek config screen appears and select line, but in works of asus eeepc and the computer toshiba laptop not.

Concerning

Try to check the settings in Realtek HD audio Manager. You can find it in the control panel.
Open it and right on the top of the Hill you will see the folder small yellow symbol.
Click on it and select the option enable auto popup dialogue...

After doing this connect external speakers and do not forget the good feature is defined.

On the same principle, it works with a headset and it works fine on my Satellite A660. When I connect headset I hear his helmet only. With other words, sound signal goes to external display only.

By the way: I use the original Toshiba recovery image with the factory settings and there is no problem.

  • No sound after you connect the headphones.

I have a pavilion dv6 laptop.  I have a headset that I want to use for the games, but I can't hear sound through them.  When I do my helmet of communication to the default device it doesn't let me.

    Hello Jack,.

I certainly understand the inconvenience that you cross.

It is possible that this problem would have occurred due to some incorrect settings or because of an incompatible or corrupted audio drivers.

Important: Make sure that your headphones are not connected to the line (headphone) jack of your sound card or computer (unless you want to be listening with headphones rather than speakers). When you connect in the headphones, most computers automatically cut the sound to the speakers. Ensure that the headset is completely and firmly inserted into the correct socket. Plug in the headphones and see if the same appears in Device Manager.

In order to understand the issue more clearly, I would ask that kindly provide me with the following information.

    1. Have you tried plugging in external speakers or any other helmet and checked if you are able to hear the audio?
    2. You are able to get the sound on your laptop's built-in speakers?

If you are not able to hear the audio on the built-in speakers or other external speakers or any other headset, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Open the hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Note: If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

If the problem persists, please follow method 2.

    Method 2:

Check with the volume controls. Please follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    (a) right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.
    (b) check on "all devices evolving sound.
    (c) make sure that you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".
    (d) place a check on the speakers and headphones. Click on apply and OK.

If the problem persists, follow method 3.

    Method 3:

This occurs when you have the speakers, by default. We need to put the headset as default. Please follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Exercise the functions mentioned below to set the speakers as default.

    • Click Start and click on Control Panel.

    • Click sound, and then a new window will open.

    • In the new window click on the "Playback" tab and right-click in the window and click on Show disabled devices.

    • Now, check if the headset is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.

    • To highlight this helmet and click "set as default".

Also try to install the latest drivers from the chipset in the system and check if it helps.

If the problem persists, follow method 4

    Method 4:

I suggest you to refer to the procedure described in the article below and check if it helps.

  • Satellite A660-1FM - maximum resolution of the display of the external monitor

    Hi all

Maybe it is (probably) an easy question to answer, but I have a Satellite A660-1FM and want to use it with my external screen Samsung Syncmaster (forgot model). I got a HDMI-> DVI - D adapter and everything is going well, but here's my question:

The page of specifications of toshiba for my laptop (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-A660-1FM/1096013/toshibaShop/false/) shows a capacity of external resolution of:
    Maximum resolution: 2 048 x 1 536
    Max refresh rate: 100 Hz
Resolution No interlaced with the maximum refresh rate: 1920 x 1 200

But I get what I call resolution HDMI standard (no wonder, I guess) when connected HDMI-> DVI - D to my external monitor. I have already run this monitor on my desk at highest resolution of 1080 p, so the monitor is capable.
Wondering what I'm missing here, or is that a matter of graphics card specification is more than possible to the output of the laptop?

    Thanks for any help
    Andy

    Hi Khaled,

What is the native screen resolution of your external display?
Can you connect your laptop and monitor with HDMI cable only why you need an adapter?

To be honest I don't understand your question. If you already have the Full HD screen resolution why do you need more?

  • Satellite A660 - boot problems USB after BIOS update

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite A660 and have recently updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.80). Since then, the laptop freezes on the splash screen (the one with the Toshiba logo) whenever a USB flash memory is attached.
It works without the memory flash connected and if I connect it after I enter the starting or the BIOS Setup menu. I can even start her like that.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a serious regression. Is there a way I can downgrade to the version of the BIOS, or any other way to solve this problem? I rely heavily on external USB drives.

    Kind regards
    Claudiu.

    Claudiu salvation,

That is really interesting, I have to say so I tested on my new Satellite A660 and Transcend 4 GB USB Stick. Well, I also installed 1.80 BIOS but I can t view this problem HARD drive is set as first boot device and all the other BIOS settings are default. The Toshiba screen and Windows computer starts as usual.
    No problem at all!

Have you tested different USB devices?

In General, it is not possible to downgrade BIOS. It is possible to an authorized service because Toshiba on page you can download the latest version only but I doubt it s a bug in the new version of BIOS because it works on my A660.

    Hello

Have you noticed the same behavior with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium at Toshiba?

I think it s a driver or software issue, so it would be interesting to know if everything worked with original settings or not.

Have you installed most recent display of the official website of Toshiba driver?

  • Satellite L20 - no audio output using Win7 device

I bought a 2nd hand L20 satellite which has been upgraded xp to win7 on the bar spots says no audio output device is installed.
I tried to update driver in the device - not good management
Download driver Realtek AC97 - not good.

It will play audio dvd peripheral USB audio for headphones.
But how the hell do I get the sound to work on the internal speaker.

    Hello

    > It will play audio dvd peripheral USB audio for headphones.
    > But how the hell do I get the sound to work on the internal speaker.
This means that the sound driver is installed correctly and that the sound card is working. Just the speakers don't work. Right?

But to be sure, check the Device Manager and check if there is a yellow? next to the sound card. If there is none? It would mean that the driver is OK.

You bought this laptop as a second hand unit; are you sure that the speakers are not defective?

Whenever I try to play music files at high volume, the sound goes away after 10-15 seconds or more, but at this time I plug in a headset and then disconnected after 2 seconds, the sound from the speakers of the laptop back, but after 10-15 sec disappears again.

I tried to reinstall the current driver, with the right system I (windows 7 professional 64-bit)

It is not virus problem (I can play with headphones and listening to higher volume).
Also disable the built-in microphone, believing that it was a bad configuration or the coupling of the signal, this problem seems to indicate that it is a technical failure

Have you noticed the same thing using earphones?
Theoretically, it could be just a problem of speaker and no sound driver problem.
But that would mean that the speakers of the laptop must be replaced.

    Hi guys

Have you heard something called Virtual Sound Toshiba tools?
I think that it s preinstalled on the A110. On my laptop, this request has been pre-installed, and there are different options that might help clear this issue.

I put t know exactly what that problem because nobody has described the problem detailed, but you should check the options in open detail settings.

But I went to the audio output of the laptop by accidentally turning off the TV as a device on the selection screen of the "playback devices". Now I want to spend my audio back to my TV, but the device is no longer an option. How it add or repair?

    Hello

    Method 1.
Please update the video card drivers, but also the audio drivers and then check if you have the ability to change the audio device by default.

Update your sound driver in Device Manager:
    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel
    b. click on system and Maintenance
    c. under Device Manager, click on devices and equipment display
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    d. expand sound, video and game controllers
    e. right click on your Audio Controller, and then click Properties
    f. Select the driver tab
    g. click the Update Driver button.
    h. Select the option automatically search for an updated driver

Windows will now look for an update for your Audio drivers locally and on the internet and then will guide you through the process of installing the driver.

  • Volume down 5% after you connect the removable device

    Hello
A few months ago, I noticed something very strange: whenever I connect a removable device as USB flash or external HARD disk drive or even my smartphone, the volume goes down to 5%, but only to the browser & media player. Can I change the sound volume by using the volume mixer but it's annoying to do whenever I have something to connect to my PC.
I reinstalled the drivers for my sound card & for each device, I usually connect & also I reinstalled the browser (Opera browser) & Winamp without success.
Also, I had some problems in the past which could be linked to it. After you install SP1, whenever I am connected to windows I was warned that the Audio Service does not work although it was running. (solved this one).
Another problem was related to the removable USB devices. Apparently, Windows could not assign letters to all my removable devices, even if I manually assigned a letter to a device of some. I does not solve it, but I use USB remove to assign letters and it seams to work fine so far. ( Windows 7 assigns letters of readers to external hard drives & Windows 7 assigns letters of readers to external hard drives )
    Any ideas?

Nevermind, I think I got it.

Control Panel-> sounds-> communication tab-> when Windows detects communications activity-> reduce the volume of other sounds of 80% has been verified

I went to do nothing and so far it sews and work.

Do not know exactly why hard drives have been detected as of communication devices, but my guess is that this has something to do with the Winamp/WMP library, because I'm always asked by these 2 apps to add the new device to the library, even if there is no file audio/video/photo on it.

  • My Satellite L450D-11W is slow after you complete Sytem restart

    Hello

I recently rebooted my laptop from the Toshiba recovery disc after problems with laptop computer slowing down to a snails pace trying to do something about it

Even after that the laptop has been completely restored and with no other loads other than those originally installed pre programs I'm still encountering problems with a very slow response to almost anything

I checked the memory & hard drive and there is no reported problems

    HELP PLEASE!

Problem is that after the installation of clean operating system the first thing that happens after that connection to the internet is Windows Update download and updates installation.
By default, it is set to automatic and all that is in the background and runs automatically.
Change the settings for Windows update.

Another thing is that lots of preinstalled things starting with OS and it slows down start-up s to laptop. Disable auto-start for all unnecessary applications and what you can do is to remove all those that you don't need. Simply delete them from the system.

One important thing that may be responsible for the slow response to laptop is also pre-installed antvirus application. In the past I see it on my computer so I removed original McAfee preinstalled and installed free Avira antivir.

There are therefore several steps that you can do to help your laptop to start much more quickly and of course a little fast.
