Satellite A75-S231 - BSOD when I insert a CD or DVD

When I insert * any * CD or DVD (Formated or a cache or with multimedia content) in the mattress * a multi player, I get the Blue Screen of Death with the error message "Bad_Pool_Header".
The Tech line reads: Stop: 0 x 00000019 (0x00000020, 0x88D59B8, 0x880D59D0.0x1A030001).

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but the problem remains. Does this mean the carpet * a Multi Player is bad?

Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

(1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.

If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

This utility can remove the filters for you:

  • Satellite A75-S231: error NFP LIST CORROMPRE - fails to load Windows

I have a Toshiba Satellite A75-S231. I started the computer and it kept freezing a few minutes after the start, gives me an PFN_CORRUPT_LIST error.

Now, he is unable to load even in windows, the computer blue screens during the loading screen and immediately restarts. After you run a memtest and get the error, it seems more likely that it is a memory problem.

It has 512 MB of RAM when buying and I bought a stick of 1 GB for more memory, 1 GB key seems to be fine, but I think the 512 MB is integrated and this is whence all errors of memory.

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove the original 512 MB memory which seem to be part of the laptop, or how to prevent them from causing the problem. I feel that I can just be completely out of luck because of how integrated this memory is with the rest of the laptop. If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi mate,

I Don t think that memory is embedded. It s probably on the top of the motherboard and not on the bottom, where you have installed your stick of 1 GB.
To remove the module, lift the keyboard which shouldn´t be a big problem. Under the keyboard, you will find the module (probably under a plastic cover) which can then be replaced by another module.

Please give a look, remove the cover of the keyboard and the keyboard or if you are not familiar with electronics, bring your machine to a technician who should take a look and remove the module from the upper part.

But believe me, you'll have the chance.

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite L300-1AP BSOD when installing Windows XP

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

    Hello

Recover the laptop once more and test it using the new system recovered.
Of my knowledge year it causes might be related to drivers of software installed on the system, but since you do not have anything, I recommend the system recovery.

    Hello

Have you checked if this happens with every PCMCIA card?
I noticed that the Vodafone card causes BSOD on some portable computers with CPU P4 s and activated the hyper-threading technology.

But there is also a problem with the firmware card Vodafone.

  • Satellite Pro R50 crashes when you insert the HDMI cable

    Hello

I have been using my R50 Pro Satellite (8.1 Windows 64-bit) for about a year now and there is a problem I'm hard to solve.

Whenever I plug a HDMI cable into the laptop, the machine hangs with a black screen. Unplug the cable does not return the laptop to its previous state and does not accept orders from the keyboard. I am therefore forced to reset the machine.

On this forum (and some others), the first suggestion is often to download the latest Intel drivers, what I did on this site:

    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/innovation/...jsp?service=UK

so, I am reasonably confident that my machine is up to date in this regard.

I'm sure this problem has been encountered before, I did not find a solution yet.

    Any ideas?

    David

Try the latest graphic driver for www.intel.com
    Also update the BIOS.

    Hey Buddy,

    And why with SP1 beta?

In any case, before you start a lengthy discussion, it would be important to know which laptop you have.

    Hello

How do you reinstall the OS and did you use the clean Toshiba Recovery CD?

Eventually, he is only a software malfunction. But according to some reports s of people having the same problem, it could be a memory module.
If you use 2 modules then try to delete one and use the laptop with a module.
In this case, you can locate the defective module.

    Just a few questions:

-What laptop do you have exactly?
-What Windows system do you use?
-Have you tried to recover the laptop back to factory settings?
-The nasal sound also seems to play mp3 files stored on the HARD drive?
-When has this issue been published?

  • Satellite A75-5211 just turns off

Hi, I had this problem in the past once and he's back now. My computer is a Satellite A75-5211. When I play any game on it (like MVP Baseball 2005), at some point the computer just turns off without any warning. It's as if all the power is just part of him! I can start again, and then everything is normal.

In the past, the problem disappeared for a few months, but it happens regularly now. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. Also, I use the program hardware sensors monitor 4.2 and it tells me that my CPU1 temperature is 60.0 ° c, while the temperature of the HARD drive is 37.0

If this problem cannot be solved by a technician in person, where is the nearest place that I can go? I live in Canterbury, UK.
    Thank you
    Sebastian

To me, this looks also because of overheating.
This probably occurs because the game is a heavy application that requires complete laptop. In this case the CPU and graphics card produce a lot of heat, and therefore the temperature rises to a higher level.
Then the operating system shut down the laptop to prevent damage.

As mentioned you should check the fans and cooling modules and possibly try to clean with the vacuum cleaner. In addition, there should be enough free space around the laptop to the circulation air properly.

  • Satellite A75-S206: question on the use of the battery

    Hello

I just replaced my battery Satellite A75-S206.
When I installed the battery, it fully charged.
When I turned on the laptop, the battery light turns off and the laptop only works on a power supply of power.

How can I change the setting and make work under voltage when it is plugged and on battery power when you are away the CAP?

    Thank you

    FAS

The laptop is still running on the battery if the AC adapter is not connected.

If you connect the AC adapter to the laptop then the laptop will automatically switch to power and the battery will be charged.

Everything works automatically. Then you n t need to change the settings.

    Hello

I m a bit confused now... When you get exactly the BSOD? After complete installation of Windows or after that?
By the way: BSOD code what you get exactly?

I often read on codes of BSOD when installing XP so I guess that you didn't use the correct driver SATA. You need the Storage Manager to properly install Windows and you can find this driver on the Toshiba site.

By the way: you can also use the forum search to find similar topics.
