Satellite C660-1TN. Win XP Pro SP3. GF 315 M graphics driver

Laptop Satellite C660-1TN. In accordance with company standards, it is necessary to work in Windows XP Pro SP3. The NVIDIA® GeForce® 315M video card driver is not established. Thank you

Your business standards are quite old. It should be time for a corporate update to the new standards. ;)

Anyway, new models of laptops are not supported for older operating systems, and new models of laptops are designed for the new operating system. New laptop models have newer material designed also for newer operating system.

Problem is not Toshiba or support for Windows XP Home edition. As far as I know even Microsoft doesn't support WXP more.

Check if NVIDIA supports Windows XP Home for GeForce 315 M.

Hello. I want to create a dual-boot installation, both using Win XP Pro SP3 on a large hard drive while having an extended partition available for data. I expect in the next two years, going to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. Put the two primary partitions to 20 GB enough or should I go ahead and do 40-50GB each in preparation for a future upgrade. Thank you!

20 GB is too small to install and run Windows 7 well.  I'd go with 40 to 50 GB. Boulder computer Maven

  • can I switch from win xp pro sp3 Windows XP Professional x 64

I have an old computer Pentium (32 bit system) (2001) with max memory 2 GB and I wish to Exchange my c: drive to a new 64-bit computer that has the capacity of up to 16 GB of memory.  I am currently using win xp pro sp3 and I don't want to move to Vista or 7 because I'm very comfortable with win xp pro screens.  I'm assuming that win xp Pro x 64 edition is similar for win xp pro in that regard.  Current box has four scsi drives, 2 CD/DVD, 4 pci for creating music cards readers, card Radeon video (2 screens), 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium CPU, 2 GB memory Rambus.  I'm go to Gigabyte GA45T-ES3G-ATX, CPU 3.0 Ghz 775, 16 GB memory Kingston Hyper X, videocard PNY 450NVS Quadro (4 screens), 2 SSD drives (100(c drive)/500 GB).  I opted for the Gigabyte motherboard because it has a pcie x 16 video card and 5 pci slots.  I use software Cakewalk mainly which has a capacity of 64-bit and some of my cards have drivers 64-bit available.  Other software will be able to run in 32-bit mode (x 86).

My plan is to clone the c: drive current, load it on the new ssd drive and upgrade to Win xp Pro x 64 load if possible.

    Andrea

First and most importantly, there is no way to upgrade from XP 32 bit to 64 bit, you must perform a "clean installation" of the 64-bit version and then reinstall your applications. Don't forget to back up your data files.

Secondly because the card mother old and new are very different (device drivers and chipset), it is unlikely that, after cloning your hard drive to an SSD, the computer would even start.

I'd rather you 32-bit version of Windows XP is a 'Reticular Full' version (OEM versions are related to the 1st motherboard it is installed on and can not be activated on another motherboard) is to reinstall XP 32 Bit to one of your SSD drives (you did not mention RAID), then install the drivers from Gigabyte.

If you must go the 64-bit road know that 64-bit XP was not very well supported by software vendors and is not widely used.

Also note that this socket 775 motherboard uses memory DDR3 and no common DDR2 for cards 775 mothers socket.

  • Satellite C660 - 1 DR - impossible to install the audio and video driver

    HY!

I just brought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 1 DR today and I can not install audio driver, I get it on the site but when I unzip install is complete but still nothing is installed and I can't install the video card ATI Park XT 512 MB can't find the driver.

    Any help is great.

    Hey Buddy,

What operating system you have installed on your C660? Have you installed the latest Service Pack before you begin with the installation of the driver?

Generally, all the drivers for your laptop can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

If you have installed all the drivers, no yellow exclamation point shouldn't be in Device Manager. Did you check that?

  • Satellite A30, Win XP Pro SP3 - modem does not work

Another problem with this laptop Satellite A30
The built-in modem does not work.

    * Explanation: *.
The driver is correct and downloaded from the Toshiba support site.
The modem is identified as "Toshiba software modem amr" and is installed on com3 port.

When I click on "diagnosis" and "ask modem" (right labels can be different, since my is an Italian win xp, I just translated the Italian labels), a window pops up saying: it is impossible to open the door (port), the modem is connected to.

I tried to change the com port of the modem to different numbers, but the problem is the same.
I don't know if the modem is a real map connected somehow to the main Board or is built right on the main map. It would be the first case, I may change see ad. BTW, the mini slot pci is already occupied by the gigabyte of Wi - Fi, so the modem must be elsewhere.

This is strange, since I've done at least 2 other win xp pro on this machine facilities, always download and install the appropriate drivers, and the modem has never worked.
    Thank you
    S.

I upgraded my Toshiba Satellite C660-24F to windows 10 pro. After the upgrade it restarts again and again showing the dead blue screen with the message
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. (athwbx.sys). How can I get rid of this error?

athwbx.sys which is mentioned in your message, belongs to the Atheros WLan driver...

So, I think that the BSOD appeared because of compatibility problems between the Win 10 and driver Atheros...

    Possible solution:

I think that deletion of the Atheros driver in Device Manager should help you to solve this...

Please keep the device connected to the internet using LAN.

So after uninstalling the Atheros WLan driver and you restarted the laptop, Win 10 should automatically find a driver compatible WLan to internet automatically...

There is a known issue with Windows Update that address priority before you visit Windows Update

Manually download and install the latest cumulative security update for IE8 and restart before

visit windows update via the shortened link in your Start menu.

It often happens that the installation of SP3 will break the windows update feature by not properly installing the windows update agent.  An older version of the windows update agent can be downloaded and saved in the C directory and installed by an execution command.

Windows update agent is available during one of the linked pages

A reboot is probably a good idea after each intervention.

Now connect to windows update manually through your browser using the shortcut in the start menu link and your chances are better that it will work.

When the latest version of windows and to connect to Windows Update will detect the old version of Windows update agent installed update agent will be installed after consenting to the ActiveX installation.  It will be the first thing that happens when connecting to Windows update if things continue normally.

If there are still problems with Windows update try this utility.

You can say what you want to say, but that does not correct.
It is and has never been, an edition of Windows XP called
    'Corporate Edition.' See below.

    > There is a very big difference in the product keys for Corporate/Home/Pro/Media Center. What often confuses a lot of people say there is no Enterprise edition or that it is a code name for a pirate software is the fact that it is an essentially the same as professional.

You talk about "Volume Licensing" of Windows XP
Professional Edition. What you are saying is correct, except that your name
for this volume license is incorrect. It is * not * called "Corporate".
Edition' and the term 'Enterprise Edition' has been used almost exclusively
    for pirated copies.

  • Satellite C660 - 1ZM Win 7 64-bit: carpet of mouse and USB - 'code 52' driver error

    Hello

Having recently set up a new Satellite C660-1ZM running Windows 7 64 bit (upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate) for a friend, the mouse pad and USB ports have suddenly stopped working. Pilots show an exclamation against them and the error is 'code 52' associated with the driver signing. Windows does not seem to recognize the signatures of the drivers for the published drivers that came pre-installed machine disk, so the devices do not work. I've updated the drivers (chipset Intel [which includes USB]; Synaptics touchpad) to the last published on the Toshiba web site - and we have the same problem.

By pressing F8 at startup allows you to select "disable driver signing checking" in WIndows 7 boot options, which allows the drivers and all is going well, until you restart - how you must press F8.

I think that among the many Windows updates has somehow messed up things, but we cannot prove easier than. The machine has been running for a week or two, then the mousepad suddenly stop working around August 8, 2012.

    (1) are there valid signed drivers who spend some Microsoft controls required for signature, including any controls they have potentially just imposed by some recently imposed update drivers?

    (2) does anyone know exactly how to disable the verification of signature permanently, drivers so a reboot will not require F8 key pressure and so forth?

Uninstalling the mouse pad driver and reboot gives the basic functionality of the mouse, without the skill of Synaptics. However, the USB ports don't always work because their driver does not load, so an external mouse does not work.

It's a hellish nusiance. The system of the keyboard to uninstall the drivers etc at the wheel is not fun.

    Cheers, Colin.

    Hello

Have you received the error windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device? This means the error code 52
Given that the USB drivers are parts of the Windows operating system, I don t think that this could be a signature issue I think that some files are damaged.

Try to uninstall/reinstall the driver and remove the unit and it s drivers in Device Manager before you reinstall.
Normally this should help, if not, well try to repair the system.

Switch on and press F8. Then choose fix my computer.
Now, choose the first option that would fix the system.

There is NO valid key on any Windows drive - with the exception of the right brand OEM disc for your machine.

Another key found in or on a disk is invalid.

Are only valid keys (with the exception of Volume license keys)...

Actually, it turns out the link video was a Youtube video and YT uses the HTML5 player when possible and descends to Flash Player if need be if they always support such.

With a little work, you can get the video to work in Firefox on the old WinXP EOL of HTML5.

  • Acer Aspire its problems after Win 7 Pro and the new installed HARD drive

I have an acer aspire 8735 laptop g-6502 which has recently undergone a WD 500 GB drive HARD failure. I replaced that with a 7200 RPM Hitachi 1 TB drive and given that I don't have a Win 7 original used a disk Win 7 Pro with an extra friend.

Windows 7 Pro and HARD disk installation went smooth. But now when I plug an HDMI cable to watch through my Marantz receiver, comes from the video, but I have to do manually the Marantz the default audio device for sound. When I unplug the HDMI, I must return to the parameters of sound and unenable Marantz and re - activate the Realtek audio.

Before the drive died HARD, happen all perfectly when you plug the HDMI cable in and the fact to disconnect without any fiddling around with settings.

I also have a few other questions:
    1. the touch volume control next to the numeric keypad does not control the volume more
    2. the keyboard key used to have a setting to display it. You can use two fingers on a tablet to drag the image to the screen bigger and smaller.

I looked the site of Acer and also used my drive Application and drivers to reinstall everything that looked related to these issues. When first, I installed Win 7 Pro I let Windows find the appropriate drivers. It worked for some things but not others.

Any ideas? I have a few scratches on my face and my forehead in frustration pain making me beat me here. Funny, but true, so all ideas are appreciated!
