Satellite C660 - 2 EV starts plus-Boot not found Bishop

I don't know how but my grandson has seriously broken the Satellite C660 - 2 EV

Boot from the disk - Boot Mgr not found

Boot from the recovery partition - Boot Mgr not found.

Boot from an installation (generic) Windows 7 disk - boots, begins to install, finds, he does not have a required driver (but don't tell me what it is). Allows me to access the drives C:, D:, E:, and X:

Boot from recovery Toshiba DVD. White bar gets about 25% on the whole of the screen then stops with "You have removed a USB support during installation" (or something like that, laptop currently in pieces).

Removed and replaced the memory and DVD player. Removal of the HARD drive connected to my PC via the USB adapter and scanned the two visible partitions (300 GB each) at the level of bad sector. No problems.

Help! I'm out of options.

Laptop must be functional (basically) as it starts from DVD (non-Toshiba).

HARD drive seems OK when verified externally and start (Non-Toshiba)

What remains?

Everything that you have done is good, and I would do the same tests.

The value of the default BIOS and test it with another HARD disk, if you can get one for testing purposes.
I can't say for sure, but somehow, I feel THAT HDD is the troublemaker.
Try installing the DVD of initial recovery on the new HARD drive.

  • Satellite C660-IHK - 'Reboot & Select good Boot device'

First of all, thanks for any help. I don't know anything about the inner workings of computers, so things, please explain to me how you would do for a baby! Here's the problem: my Satellite C660-IHK is one month. I have not much used, nor had any problem with it. Until last night. I turned it on, the logo appeared as usual, and then it went to a screen that tells me to "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key. I have no idea what that means or what I should do now.

On another chance, I pressed 'Set Up', which was located at the bottom of the screen when the logo first appeared. I went to 'Boot '. Here is the info:

    HDD/SSD
    USB
    WEIRD MATHITADVD-RAM UJ8BO
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN Realtex PXE

On this page, I am also told "choose the priority of the computer starts". Again, I don't know what it should be. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You see this message every time when you start your laptop?

    It's a little strange.
Start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. Use F9 and set it to check and default settings, if the problem persists or not.

If Yes, restart your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. Check if the HARD drive is listed there. If Yes, select it and press ENTER. Windows starts correctly?

  • Satellite C660 - is don't turn does not on

    Hi all

Just got a new laptop Satellite C660-PSC1LA-00J001, which initially had 2 GB of ram in the shop, but has been improved with another 2 GB to 4 GB (upgraded in-store). Have unpacked box and the connection of all the cords power supply etc., power button and a red light entry the. After that a little more an another green light came. After a few other time two lights are green. However, the screen remained black. I left it like that for two years and a half hours recommended to set the duration, but it did not a thing since. I tried to turn it off by holding the button for a few seconds, but it still doesn't react.

It sounds like this problem is to do with the new ram module that has been placed in it? I don't know that I'm confident enough to begin by removing and trying again or not. Shall I take back to the store? Or maybe you guys ideas to try. I don't want to destroy the laptop when I have not used yet. I know a little about computers but did not trust in case of problem with my limited knowledge. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Hello

The initial configuration is possible if your computer starts correctly and Windows should be started. If you n t see anything on the screen it seems to be a serious malfunction of equipment.

Anyway, these things shouldn't t happen on a new laptop and in your case I return the phone and ask for a replacement model. I m that the seller has other C660 models in range to take another one that you can be happy with your new Toshiba computer ;)

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 3 - number "plugged in, not charging."

Last year, I bought a portable Satellite C660 - 1 to 3 of the United Kingdom; even today, I'm using the factory settings and running the operating system originally installed Windows 7. Here's the question I started yesterday face to leave:
-Even when the battery is connected and the laptop running, the power meter shows a decline, with the notification level "plugged in, not charging." The orange LED keeps blinking

-However, when I completely stopped the laptop, without touching anything anyone (not even touch the adapter or the power cord), the orange LED indicates the battery charging process stops flashing and becomes stable

-Turn the laptop, for about 1 minute or so, the battery seems to be loading (message of orange LED flashes do not and "clogged, load"). However, soon again the orange LED starts flashing and the message of nuisance comes once again to the top

    A number of things:
-the battery seems to be working well and load properly when the laptop is stop (in fact, until a few days back, the battery used to show 02:30 hours of time available on 100% charge level)
is there a problem with the operating system? no idea on that

can experts help me solve this problem? I really don't want to approach the Service because of the long distance involved.

    concerning
    -Biren

    Hello Biren

Not sure if I can help you but I would like to give you some advice.

    (1) check if your BIOS is up to date. If Toshiba driver European page provides a newer version, then update the BIOS. In addition, set the default BIOS by pressing F9 and save modified pressing F10.
    (2) try to calibrate the battery. To calibrate the battery you completely discharge the battery and charge it again. Repeat 2-3 times in the line.
    (3) remove the battery and the AC adapter and press the power button / stop (30 sec long) and then connect the two parts and check if the LED begin to blink.

Finally, I think that the laptop needs to be tested using new, good battery to work. But if the issue still persists, then I guess that your motherboard might be affected.

  • Satellite C660 don't start from the HDDs or recovery

    Hi people,

Post this question for my neighbor, as there is now no internet access as mobile does not not - Satellite C660 running Win7.

In the event of power he gets the Toshiba screen then a white screen with the cursor at the top left flashing.

Tried to boot from the DVD of Win7 (you press F12 for boot & changed options on DVD), can hear the reader tries to access the dvd but then get the message 'impossible '. DVD of Win7 works in my laptop and desktop pc computer.

    Any ideas.

    Thank you

    Nigel

    > When the power he gets the Toshiba screen then a white screen with the cursor at the top left flashing.

    Possibly the HARD drive died.
That try you to the power of the unit and press F2
Now you should be able to access the BIOS.

If the disk HARD isn t appearing on the first page of the BIOS, this means that HDD isn't recognised by the BIOS, which means that the HARD drive is faulty.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 M 0 - battery does not work long

I have a new Satellite C660 - 1 M 0, and after using it for a week, the battery does not as long as compared to the first time that I used it.

I heard that a charge of initial battery life of 8 hours is required before the 1st use. Is this true?

    Hi richardvdoran,

The battery time depends on usage and what you do. For example if you run a large number of programs and work with a high CPU utilization low autonomy and requires AC adapter / CC soon. Also surf the Internet needs battery power.

You can improve the battery life if you use the eco mode power plan. This will reduce the brightness and other things to improve the battery life.

First battery charge time may be 8 hours but that's different and according to other things.

It works in the home premium to Windows 7. Will this fix if the system restore is installed?

The menu Flash card may appear at the bottom or top of the screen. It depends on the settings you can change in the settings of Flash Card Toshiba (all programs-> Toshiba-> Utilities)

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL-wireless button do not work running 8.1 Win

    Hello

my wireless button does not work. I have windows installed 8.1,
I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.

    Any suggestion?

As much as I know the Satellite C660 can't win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.
I think you can use Win 8.1 but be aware that there is no guarantee that you can use all the features of the special specifications.

    > I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.
I doubt that this is correct since VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

However, try to install the driver of Toshiba and Toshiba function Key Utility system to win 8.1
You can download this software that has been released for other series like Sat C870 for example.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - after the BIOS update can not connect to Internet

    Hello
I've recently updated my BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite C660 1.70.
Everything goes well, but when I rebooted and tried to connect to the internet, he could not.

I thought that there was a temporary error, but it's been 3 months and it has still not repaired.

Can you help me? Thank you!

Have you tested with WLAN and LAN connection?
Have you noticed the same problem using two connections?

  • Satellite C660-1F1 has start off without warning

Recently my laptop Satellite C660-1F1 start off without warning and I read in other forums that it could be an overheating problem.

You have advice on how can I fix?

    Thank you
    Paul

Yes, one of the solutions could be the cleaning of the cooling fans.
Dust and debris inside the unit and cooling modules may affect the functionality of fan.
The air circulation could be affected too then remove the dust using a jet of compressed air.
Its good tool to get these issues resolved without separate laptops.

  • Satellite C660 - 23 M: Volume OSD works not under Fn Key + 2 or 3 using Win7

I have a satellite C660 - 23 M and have recently reinstalled Windows 7 to get a clean install without bloatware.

I installed the utility Support Flash Cards and value-added products and, on the whole, the functionality of the keys Fn + F OK work and give an OSD appropriate, so that we can see what happens when you use key controls.

Unfortunately however, Fn + 3 (the volume) and Fn + 4 (increase the volume) everything works properly with regard to actually proceed with a reduction or increase the volume control, do not show a suitable simultaneous OSD that allow to confirm the effect and adjust the level of the volume actually set.

Can anyone help with a fix/solution please?

Maybe stupid question now, but worked it as you wisch with Win7 preinstalled original?
I ask this because on my NB520, I use the same combination of keys, but volume OSB is not displayed on the screen.

I can just see this symbol in the taskbar to change.
