Satellite C660 - browser slider slide down of internet pages

Hi people,

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite C660 I on the temporary loan out of warranty.

Win 7 Home 64 bit. SP1. 4 MB of ram.
Recently, the original HARD drive failed and it was replaced with a Samsung HP - M 160MBB with a new Win 7 full reload from scratch.

The old HDD has been completely destroyed and there was no available recovery disk.

The problem is that the slider will not slide down of internet pages - sound of intermittent problems.

I go on the internet and open any long page (for example, google news, a newspaper or even the site of Microsoft Troubleshooting).

When I want to read further down the page I would usually put the trackpad pointer or the mouse pointer over the vertical slider on the right left click and hold and drag the slider to the bottom of the page.

* Sometimes, that works well, but more often the picture vibrates and the cursor jitters and refuses to leave his post or pops up after a short trip down *, so that you can not read any further down than the original bottom of the screen.

Sometimes it clears itself.
Sometimes he might work ok for a while but then returned to this problem, it is not really usable as it is.

It doesn't seem to be any obvious reason or because of this behavior, and sometimes I use the trackpad or usb mouse.

I am on wireless and the signal is 'excellent' but I tried with a cable connection and the same thing happened.

It doesn't happen with the horizontal slider, if for example, I reduce the width of the window in order to show the horizontal slider, even if it still occurs with the vertical slider.

However if there is an additional vertical slider on the left side (in the case of Google News with his mini menu) this cursor behaves in the same way if the right slider is ongoing upward.

There seems not to be with the long Word or Excel documents, suggesting that it is limited to the internet.
I tried with IE9, Chrome and Firefox and the problem arises * with all three * browsers.

The previous owner suggests now that this has happened with the original HARD disk, and the previous version of Windows 7.

I checked that all the drivers are up to date. Win 7 is fully updated.
No apparent virus problem.
I swapped mouse without success.
The Device Manager said that all affected devices are working OK.

I tried the MS recommended routine clean boot without success, I suspect mainly because wireless internet becomes invalid if the fault would become unclear.

Any ideas please?
Cheers. Junior

Hello

I can say s material certainly NO problem.
You take on internet browsers so I guess that the same issue does not happen using Word or other applications where the bar scroll right is available.

Maybe the problem is caused by some add-ons installed for internet browsers
Who knows what applications have been installed on the systems

    Thank you

    > The only way I can put internet on my laptop is unplug the router of the socket and plug again.

In my view, this has nothing to do with your laptop.
It seems that the problem is related to the new router.

By the way: I guess you have not had any problems with your laptop before moving to the new home. Right?

    Hello

I have a Satellite C660 (Windows 7) that I've had for more than a year. I had no problem with the connection to the internet before, but last week I went online and had a small yellow triangle down, at the bottom right of my screen against the bar of connectivity. When I click to connect to my router, it says that it is connected with a signal excellent but says that I have no internet access.

    Can someone please?

Have you tried to reboot your router?
Please, do it and check if the problem still persists.

  • Satellite C660-258 - Internet connection issues

Recently, my laptop started to suffer serious problems when you try to connect to the internet.
My download and upload slow to a crawl (only for laptop)

Usually (according to speedtest.net) I get around a download about 4 but on my laptop it reaches maximum 0.09 dl.

Whenever I restart my laptop it works kind of during about 10 minutes (I get about a 1 download), but then it slows down to a crawl.

I confess that I am not the most tech savvy people so I only did the basics (turn it on and try again, other connections, reset the router, connect through a cable) but none of this has worked.

Any help you could provide would be most welcome.

    Hello

To be honest I don t understand your problem you have a problem with the internet connection is slow?

Usually, this is not a problem or computer in the system but the problem with the connection provided by the internet provider (ISP).

However, you compared the speed using LAN and WLan?
Did you check the internet connection by using other WLan hotspots or other WiFi network?

    Do this!

I'm really confused as to what to do. Internet days might work for a while and then all of a sudden the exclamation point appears there and I can't get working again.

If anyone has any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix Tournay would be GREAT. as for now I can't use the internet wireless on my laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think there could be a problem with your WLan router.
I recommend to reset the router and try again

If this is not enough, clear all settings of encryption like encryption, password encryption, mac address filtering, etc. and try to connect again to open WLan.
But this just for testing purposes

If the connection would be functions, you must configure the router once more.

  • Satellite C660 - 19G - the warranty without Internet?

I just bought a Satellite C660 - 19G. It is for use at home, and I have no intention of never connect to the Internet. So, how can I save the guarantee - which seems to need an Internet connection?

Can anyone provide an address (snail may or by e-mail) that I can send the details in order to register the warranty?

    Hey,.

Of course, you can save your laptop without an Internet connection but as far as I know that's possible only if you go to the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > devices & Services > Warranty & Service registration

But it sounds strange to me if you want to register your laptop by email if you don t have an Internet connection at home and how you can access the forum?

In any case, visit the Web from Toshiba to save it. :)

  • Satellite C660 - no Internet connection after updating BIOS

I am a novice user and have a Satellite C660 under warranty that I don't use for surfing the net and Ebay so I hope I can explain my problem!

Toshiba bulletin board said that the need to update BIOS, so I followed the instructions but since then I have no internet connection, and cannot restore the connection that I lost all help Toshiba Bulletin Board today lost and none of the programs to sort the problems work - e.g.set assistants etc. I did not yet create rescue disks, but if I try to create them now I'll be able to restore to factory settings?

Can someone tell me if it's a failure caused by the BIOS update or I would return laptop to John Lewis for repair? Thank you very much for reading this

    Hey Buddy,

The default settings in the BIOS load after update? If this is not the case, go into the BIOS and load the default settings. You can enter the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows start and then press the F9 key to load defaults. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

You can access the Internet now?
You try to access the Internet with LAN or WLAN connection?

Also check device manager if all devices are recognized correctly.

    > I did not yet create rescue disks, but if I try to create them now I'll be able to restore to factory settings?
You can create the Toshiba Recovery disk every time. Just launch the pre-installed Toshiba Recovery Media Creator and follow the instructions on the screen. You need just a few blank DVDs to create the discs. Disks contain a factory image of settings which can be restored each time and how many times you want to so with these disks, you are on the safe side ;)

  • I lost the Internet connection on my Satellite C660-1F1

    Hi to you all

My problem is until last week I had installed on my Satellite C660-1F1 internet.
Now I ve lost connectivity, I can t enable wireless by FN + F8.

It s saying not available on my device connection. Could someone give help, please?

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I guess that there must be a mistake.

At first be sure that your router is working properly and the WIFI is enabled it.

Check it please as next step WLAN on your laptop satellite. Open the Device Manager and check if the WLAN card is installed and registered properly. Next step is to activate the card wireless network on your computer.

If your laptop is the WLAN light remember that power is on. If everything is OK check if your WLAN is visible for your laptop.

Please check it and send comments.

Can you please tell us what operating system do you use?
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop (WIN7 64-BIT HOME PREMIUM)?

WLAN and LAN devices listed correctly in the Device Manager?

I m wondering really you can access full Internet using the connection to the local network.
I can't imagine you have this problem on the first day of use, right?

  • Satellite C660: Wireless Internet when remove the power supply drops

    Hello
new Tosh Satellite C660 laptop works fine when the power supply cord is connected, soon as directed power is removed drops internet connection, usually to the second web page (the first web page is accessible, failure occurs usually when you try to access a new page)

When I connect the power cable, internet connectivity returns as usual!

I've been on the Advanced page setings power management,
I have power settings "balanced" set up, and for the realtek card wireless put the plug and batttery power to maaximum settings (before they were to the maximum for diet and balanced for battery) even if it has no impact.

The connection between the laptop and the wireless box seems 'excellent' level, the internet is the element which is a failure.

I use the standard realteck card from the laptop (Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) a D-Link Wireless N Router (DIR-615 ver1.00) and standard Modem provided by Virginmedia who bring them my services to wide band.

    All suggestions are welcome!
    Rick

    Hello

Try the Realtek WLan driver Realtek page.
    www.Realtek.com.tw

I read here in the forum that it has helped to get rid of these questions.
Of course, you must also disable as mentioned in your message to save energy.

Here, the other thread which confirms this driver update allows:
