> According to Toshiba site the CPU is supported for this model of laptop.
Really? As much as I know updates don't are not supported:

Referring to this document, Toshiba support nor recommended to make changes on their mobile systems, since the basics in these mobile systems are not expandable as in a desktop system.

By the way: you said that the cooling temperature is ok. Do you mean the CPU temperature or the temperature?

  • Satellite C850 - 13 c turns off after upgrade CPU

    Hello

I have a Satellite C850 - 13 c with the b820 cpu celeron. I bought a core i5 2450 m to upgrade, but after I installed the new processor, the laptop turns off each time after 30 minutes exactly.

The problem happens also in bios mode. In the first 30 minutes, the laptop works perfectly but it just closed down without warning.

Aparently others had the same problem with this laptop model, even with a core i3 cpu upgrade.

    I've tried so far things:

-Ventilation control system - everything ok, temp is not above 40 ° c
-Updated bios updated to the latest version
-People with mobility reduced all the main functions of the cpu in the bios
    -The battery bios reset
-Tried with AC adapter only, only battery, same result.

This model just don't treat a larger cpu?
    Please help :(

So generally the CPU upgrade is not possible with this show you are yourself and any exchange of material is at your own risk only.

Problem is that Toshiba doesn't any info says on the upgrade of CPU and functionality with different processors. Thanks to a specific design, there is danger of overheating.
In your case, it is interesting that laptop off after exactly after 30 min.

Unfortunately I can't help you with this, but this case is very interesting announcement I will continue to follow the discussion. Let's see what other people will write about it.

  • Re: Satellite A105 stops after 60 seconds (NOT a heat problem)

Satellite A105-s4344 stops after EXACTLY 60 seconds. The mobo was removed from bevels and all devices removed unnecessary (DVD, HDD, WiFI etc.). Swapped CPU and RAM with those well known. AC adapter / CC exchanged and battery by the well known. Does the same on the AC or DC inputs only.

I have not yet flashed the BIOS (at 60 seconds, that would be silly). But, I'm looking to replace or flashing with an EEPROM burner. Currently has V 2.0

I don't know what heat genration detection using this system, but it is a possible cause if it is one of the later generations (visit http://www.topbits.com/how-to-monitor-cpu-temperature.html if you don't know that I'm referring to).

Before reballing North and South of the bridge and flashing, I thought that I would get feedback from you folks. Just to cover all bases ;)

    > P.S. the first person to ask what OS I use will get an instant ticket to the bottom of my list of respect.
:) :) :) Best thing I've seen in this forum.

    Back to your problem.
I'm not a technician but this is just my opinion on all of this. The fact is that after your laptop on CPU switch in seconds only reaches very high temperatures. You can turn on your laptop and just enter the BIOS settings and the same should happen again.

I can't say for sure if it's 100% thermal or not question but what else can be responsible for decommissioning? CPU will be warm in just a few seconds. Significant change structure with temperature change and I can only imagine a contact will be interrupted.

On this forum, we have had many reports similar as when portable cold starts and works well, but after that little time is off without reason. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it sounds like heat or deliver bad contacts. Let's see what other people have to say about it.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - after upgrade to Windows 7, the FN keys do not work

    Hello world

I have a Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE and have just upgraded to Windows 7. Since the upgrade I can no longer use the function key and the top and down arrows to control the volume. Keys F6 F7 & still control the brightness so I don't know the function key still works.

Anyone know if it is a driver problem or nobody knows how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

You need to install the package of value added for Satellite Pro L40. This package contains all the necessary drivers for the FN keys. Then please install or update VAP if you have already installed an earlier version.
Here you can download: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Can you confirm that FN keys work with installed VAP?

  • Activation questions Win 8.1 on Satellite Pro C850-1EQ after upgrade

    Hello everyone!

I face a problem after the upgrade of my TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C850-1EQ preinstalled version of windows 8 to 8.1.

After installation windows ask the product key to activate windows 8.1, but I don't have this activation key.

I called Microsoft (Greece), but could not help me and told me to call Toshiba (Greece).
The man of Toshiba technical support told me to remind Microsoft!

In addition, he told me to check here (https://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/) before starting the process. Step # 7 says "don't forget your Windows password. You may need to enter after update. »

Now, I'm back to Win 8.

Is there a way to learn my activation key before installation of w8.1?
I tried to find that the use of various tools, but nobody found the key.
In addition, after 8.1 install, a message says:

    + Error code: 0xC004C003 +.
+ The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked.

I trust Toshiba and I want to use the latest version of w8.1.
I'd be grateful if someone Toshiba technician could help me with this problem.

    John (from Greece)

    Hello

    > I'd be grateful if someone technician Toshiba could help me with this problem.
    It's community of users

    > Is it possible to learn my activation key before installation of w8.1?

No, the preinstalled Windows 8 Toshiba is already activated and during the upgrade to 8.1 Win will not ask you to enter the serial key...

    Windows 8 is activated?

Try this: create DVDs of Toshiba Recovery (or flash USB memory stick). Use the recovery media to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings. Update of the Windows 8 at the last State and then do the upgrade to 8.1 Win

  • Satellite L300D BSOD after upgrade to Windows 7

I got this laptop (Satellite L300D) for a little more than a year with windows vista (32-bit) running and there were no problems. However, I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 (x 64) and became the problems since the first reboot.

On the first reboot after installing windows 7, the computer off just after the "Starting Windows" screen Turn on again took me to the repair of the system where he performed a system restore and I was able to start successfully even once. I thought that the problem had something to do with the automatic updates, so I disabled the and tried to restart to see if the problem has been corrected. This time, after the "Starting Windows" screen I got a BSOD of unrecoverable system error. After several attempts to reboot and multiple attempts to repair system (which usually says she didn't) it started correctly again.

This problem has been going for about 3 weeks now and it is quite irritating. The results of the system of compensation for claims that a "Boot critical file is corrupt", but it starts eventually after several attempts to start. He also has a habit of turning at random during the race (it happens about once or twice a day). So from now on, whenever I chaque fois que je tente tries to start my computer it shuts down after the start screen or give the BSOD and restarts and the only way to make it work seems to be to keep trying to start and hope for a successful boot of the system upward (this happens finally after a few failed attempts).

I did some research on this and came to [this | 1251 http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?modelFilter=L300D-ST3501&rpn=PSLC8U&category=&selCategory=3&moid=222 & os = & ct = DL & selFamily = 1073768663] page. I think that's exactly what my problem is (need to update the BIOS), but if I understand correctly installing windows to do this only for 2000/xp/vista and I am unable to use the second option to boot from the disc as I get the BSOD before he gets to that point. I should try the windows install option although I am running windows 7 or is there another way to update the BIOS? Or I'm off completely and the problem is with something else?

I wasn't sure what information I would like to add to this post so if need more information please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

Edit: Oops, just realized the page I linked is not link to exactly what I had opened. I do not speak of 'critical BIOS updates for Windows 7 64-bit' under 'support form '.

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know what code BSOD, you get exactly. Can you post this information useful? Normally, on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, you can find additional information about most of the BSOD codes and so you can start to solve this problem.

BSODS are often associated with drivers or RAM/HDD. The latter, you can check with special diagnostic tools, Memtest86 for RAM and Drive Fitness Test for the HARD drive. These two tools are free and you can find it using Google. You can download an iso image of them to create a bootable media where you can start the test.

Regarding your update to the BIOS: I put t know what L300D you have exactly, but according to the Toshiba site it shows an update of the BIOS also for Windows 7 64-bit. You can try to install it.

  • S50 satellite - B - problem after upgrade Win10 touchpad

I have a brand new S50-B-15F that I unboxed for the first time today. I have updated to OS to win 10, but the trackpad stops working after the initial upward boot (even if a USB mouse works fine). I've seen similar comments on this forum for another model of S50 (and referring I think to the pilot of the momentum) but not sure if this applies to my model. Could someone advise on the steps to solve this problem, keep it as simple as possible!

  • Satellite A200 stops after the post

    Hello.

I replaced the motherboard that was dead with a used one on ebay, the user declares that it functioned very well.

Anyway after that I set up everything, it starts for a few seconds and then stops.
Then I tried connecting the Council, except in the case of the laptop and it's the shutsdown, after awhile, except in certain positions, or if I press somewhere, then he has not stopped.

I have reviewed everything carefully and I don't see any evidence of anything whatsoever that could short the motherboard...
I took a few pictures for you to see how I managed to do work for a long time:

    http://I54.Tinypic.com/ojnix5.jpg
    http://i51.Tinypic.com/2upekw8.jpg

He got up on the upper right. If I normally put it will not work.
The strangest thing is that if I go into the BIOS by pressing F2, he used stop! forever there remains, after the POST, that is the case...

But if meet the thing and tighten all bolts, even its worse, shutsdown in 1 or 2 seconds and doesn't show any video...

    What do you think is?

    Hello

I think that it of almost impossible to say what could be bad exactly.
If the MESSAGE cannot be passed correctly, it means that something is broken on the motherboard.
    Have you checked RAM?

Faulty or incompatible RAM can cause this problem but it s just a suggestion

PS: what about CPU? Is it compatible with the new card mother and chipset?

    Hi all

I have with me the notebook toshiba Satellite A300.
Bought the UNITED Arab Emirates. I just upgraded my pc to windows 7 and it seems to have affected my battery life, I guess.

Anyone has idea about hw long battery last, I mean hours.

Now, I can only use it for nearley 30 min... Some blog said of updateing the bios.

Is this the reason realley or is the problem of windows 7 with my battery, experts advise please.

    Thank you, vb sbar

    Hello

I don't know if the update of the BIOS would help, but if the new BIOS is available for you notebook series, then it s a m updated value.

But you should also check the Win 7 power management settings.
    Please check this Toshiba HowTo:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=41

It s on vista but Vista power management is very similar to Windows 7.

Here you must change the battery more user-friendly options.

I think it's due to a lot of background with windows process 8 can someone there help me walk the battery disappear so quickly. I can't downgrade to windows 7 that I deleted the roll back data.

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

I put t believe that the battery discharges more quickly because of some processes that run in the background. This question might be possible on tablets or smartphones, but this isn't a case for the use of the laptop.
You can try to change the power management settings Windows 8 in order to save the battery.

But in my opinion, your battery is almost the end of life.
I'm don't know how old is the battery, but in my case, the battery is a little older and he holds just load for 5 min.
So, I think that replacing the battery would resolve the issue

In my view, this question has nothing to do with the virus, but maybe with overheating.
    How old is your laptop?
Have you ever cleaned cooling grids or cooling fans? Fan may be OK, but how it looks behind the grille. Perhaps there dust and traffic blocks the air properly.
