Satellite C855-12Z - strange noise, even if the cooler is off

Hello again,

I have a toshiba satellite c855 12z and I heard a strange noise even if toshiba pc health monitor shows that the heater is off, it's like an air blowing inside the laptop, you need 2 coolers? or can it be the hard drive? When I bought the laptop was very quiet, now I always hear this noise...

Help please

It's always hard to talk about things that are not verified...
There are two things that could create a noise: cooling fans or HARD drive.
Cooling fans are not DISABLED the cooling module can run at a lower speed, but it is not completely off.

HARD drive runs too, but it should not create noise if the HARD drive is OK

  • SatelliteA200 - 23 k - strange noise coming from the fan area

I have my model A200-23 laptop Toshiba PSAE6E for 1.5 years and I recently returned from service.
I sent there due to a nonfunctional key.

All right, they changed the keyboard... but since I found, I have noticed some strange noises coming from the fan area...

The sound is not so strong, but it's pretty boring.
I cleaned using compressed air, but the sound has not disappeared.
It is still under warranty, but I don't think they would do something against this noise.

The laptop works very well, it is not overheating or something, but I cannot get used to the noise.
    Should Whatd I do?

    Hello

Hard to say what noise would that be
But if the laptop was removed by a technician of the ASP in the past, then you should get in touch with the same technicians again and have to explain your situation!
A screw has perhaps forgotten who knows
I think that the technician should take a new look on this laptop

I wouldn't recommend open and disassemble the laptop yourself because you could void the warranty

  • Strange noise coming from the fan on Satellite P100

My Satellite P100 just makes a noise like a seriously heavy drill. Nothing else happened significantly so I turned off immediately and left for an hour or so overheating had the broken fan.
Now back on and everything seems fine, but I'm worried. Is there something that can explain this? I got 5 interviews next week for which I use the laptop to prepare a presentation and I do not want to fail on me at the last minute...

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

that could be an object (something really little) is/was blocked in your FAN and is now gone. If this would be a problem of turnover so the fan would still some strange noises.

I suggest you do the following: use your machine as usual and if noise appears again then ask a technician to clean the fan/ventilation system. I Don t think it s some malfunction of the equipment.

What about strange noises? Who knows what you mean exactly and how us need to understand that?

  • Satellite Z930-12Z - add RAM and replace the SSD

    Hi all

I'm new here and read some articles also on the Z930-12Z Satelite but I have two questions on the Satellite Z930-12Z:

    1. What is the maximum RAM for Satellite Z930-12Z? There are two locations inside or accommodation?
I read this blog, but I don't understand if there are two slots or a slot...
    https://Forum.Toshiba.EU/showthread...Llite-Z930-12Z

    2. could I change the SSD? Is there a maximum GB for SSDS for my Ultrabook? No matter what SSD I install?

    I had these SSDS:
    2.1 Kingston SMS200S3 / 480 G SSD 480 GB (6.4 cm (2.5 '' mSATA)
    2.2 MZ-M5E500BW Samsung SSD 500 GB (mSATA)

No matter what SSD I install?

    Thank you in advance!

    Rebecca Bugday

Two DIMM slots with 16 GB support apparently. You won't need 16 GB. Take a set of 2 x 4 GB RAM dual channel, I'll leave a link to a few good things that I use for my cell phone 16 GB

    http://www.ebuyer.com/646124-HyperX-...1779&PKW=&Pmt=

Also, Yes, of course, you can change the SSD, you will need to get some kind of USB 3.0 in the first mSATA interface and clone the existing drive overall, because laptops do not want fresh windows install.

  • Satellite C855-1j4j does not turn on - the Bios Update interrupted

    Hello

I did the update on my laptop Satellite C855-14 days, and all of a sudden the power went out,
now the pc running either party but not nothing DON'T get PAST...

    What should do?

+ The message was edited: message has already been translated.

From my point of few the EPROM module must be re-flashed once more with special BIOS crisis recovery disk.

Usually, this procedure could be done only by authorized service provider available in your country.

But I found an interesting announcement about how to flash the BIOS on U400 series.
See the last post [here: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=62852]

But I don't very well if this info would be useful and if it would work in your laptop to Mr. However, in case this would not work, contact the ASP from Toshiba for help

  • Satellite P50-B-103 - noise coming from the ODD box / ram

So the first thing is that I have a strange noise coming out of my drive/ram zone cd of my laptop, (its new).
    the cd drive is empty
The noise sounds like the laser moves around, but for a very short period of time

Second thing, it is that the update for the cd player install little matters what I do

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what it could be.
What you can do is to open a WEIRD door but just a little bit and work for a period of time see if you can hear the new sound.

The noise sounds like the laser moves around, but for a very short period of time

    Do again and again?

Second thing, it is that the update for the cd player install little matters what I do

What you want to install exactly? Which update?

  • Satellite C855 - 2 EV: how to remove the keyboard to replace the WLan

    Recently, I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 2 EV.
As the performance of the wireless network card is a little disappointing, I bought a replacement NIC.

However when I tried to change the map, I was unable to open the laptop.
There are a few screws under the keyboard that must be unscrewed before being opened.

Unfortunately I could not remove the keyboard.
Does anyone know how the keyboard can be removed?

    Thank you!

I hope you know that replacement of a card WLAN or upgrade is not supported for doing something like that will void you the warranty. Another thing is the compatibility. Toshiba doesn't offer information on compatible WLAN cards so I m asking you already bought the new wireless network card.

Are you sure that it will properly work 100%?
Please think twice before you do anything. In my opinion, it is not good idea to cancel the warranty for the new laptop.

  • Satellite C855-149 stop being disconnected from the network

OK, so yesterday I had to switch my cell of a room to another (it's a Toshiba Satellite C855-149).
Its usually connected to the grid, so I moved and everything was fine.

After a few hours, I decided to go back to my room and as soon as I unplugged my laptop charger (my battery was full), it will stop. The fact that since then.

It shows that the battery is at 100% and that the laptop is connected.
I started looking for advice on the internet and I found this program called BatteryInfoView.

    That's what it shows: http://imgur.com/H9n8phU

It looks like the battery isn t correctly initialized.
    Try the next solution.
Go to the Device Manager, expand the section battery and remove / uninstall compatible ACPI control method battery.

Restart the unit. After that, the deleted entry must be recognized again.
You can now check if the laptop turns on if the adapter has been disconnected.

If this did not help you, I recommend you remove and insert battery while the laptop is running.

    Your comments would be appreciated.

  • Satellite C750-A103 made a lot of noise - problem with the cooling system

My toshiba machine made a lot of noise... like a plane. And it gives me the message "a problem with your cooling system has been the detection.

Turn off immediately and come back for the service "."
What should I do? It has been recently formatted, also?

+ The message was edited: mode number + added

You did not provide details on your laptop model and system that is installed on the laptop.

Even his I don't know how old is the laptop, but according to this short message, it looks like there is a problem with the cooling system.

Probably notebooks cooling fan doesn t work properly and the unit cannot be cooled as it should this can lead to cell damage through an internal temperature longer.

  • Cooler on Satellite L505 making strange noise

I have a Satellite 505 for about 6 months, and a few days ago the cooler started making strange buzzing when he works on the high rpm. He fell, got shaked, nothing.
Is it possible to fix it (maybe clean?) without taking it to the laboratory of support?

You have enough new notebook with valid warranty, and don t waste your time with temporary solutions and communicate with the service of Toshiba. They should solve the problem.

Fan may be defective and must be replaced.

  • Language office (and all menus) are all in strange symbols, even if the language selected is English

I have a Vista Home Premium computer laptop (Toshiba Satellite) which shows strange lines and brands for all of the words on the desktop and menus. I guess it could be a different language, although it looks more like mutilated. I managed to check the regional/language settings (was not easy) and English is selected. Anyone know what is happening and how to fix this without reloading the operating system?

    Hello toryander,.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

When the problem started happening with the display of strange symbols and marks in your Vista Home Premium?
What has changed in your environment? Did you install a new program or install an update from Windows?

Have you tried running Safe Mode to see if it'll happen here?

If you know when the problem started, you can check and see if you have the system restore back to an earlier point in time. Note: System Restore does not save or delete your personal documents. This means that a document created and saved today is not deleted if you use the system restore. Only some system files and settings are changed when you perform a system restore.
