Satellite C870D - password startup

Hello

I hope you can help I bought my Satellite C870D about 4 weeks ago. Tonight I went to start it it came with the usual screen 'Toshiba Leading Innovation' he then goes to a black screen, showing a blue enter password dialog box saying. HELP what happened the only recently installed software was NERO video last night. I am really confused and have not been able to find advice on this, I tried to get into the BIOS with F2 & F12 but nothing helped. Tried contacting customer service but closed.

Can someone please help?
Thanks a lot is advance Ash

Is there anyone else with access to your laptop?
Is that your laptop is locked with BIOS password and, as far as I know, it cannot be defined in only one.
Problem, is that you can not delete it now if you n t the right password.
In the worst cases, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they can remove it for you.

Sorry, but it's a bit complicated now.

    Hello

    I'm really stuck here,
A few days ago my laptop (Satellite C870D-10 t) began to have problems with its slowness and browsers started to freeze.
Of control of virus then did a chkdisk and then the real problems started.

When I tried to start (recommended), or reboot I get the message starting windows normally when choosing repair startup would start loading windows files then stop after the windows logo and go to a black screen with cursor.
Security modes do not work either.

I must of retries to more than 50 times until I then opted for drive recovery HARD and restore to the factory settings. After I did it I had a similar thing happenend.

Windows first loading of files, windows logo, Assistant recovery: choose language, then the screen with the white cursor black... sometimes I got error F3-F000-0001
Only on one occasion did he go a bit more far but left after the same error message I think.
Restarting the disc also has not worked since the first time I did the HARD drive recovery.

    ANY HELP is very appreciated

    Hello

I think that the HARD drive is faulty.
The cursor blinking in the upper left corner is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
I recommend you to check the new HARD drive.

Also a problem of RAM may be the reason for these problems, but I recommend check (replace) the HARD drive first.

I guess I need a driver. Can someone point me to a site to download the correct driver?
    Thank you very much.

According to laptop specification your machine was shipped with preinstalled WIN8 64bits.
You have reinstalled this original version of the OS (recovery image)?

Original recovery image contains all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, so everything should be OK.

  • Problems starting with the Satellite C870D - 11 X

    I have a Satellite C870D - 11 X 8.1 Windows running.

The laptop was running progressively slower, but now when I start it sticks on the screen "Toshiba Leading Innovation". Finally, he moves to a blue screen saying that your computer needs repair "a required device cannot be accessed 0000185 0xc error code. I tried a reset by pressing '0' at the beginning, to the top and I see the process of disk recovery hard screen and press enter for Yes and I get the "Toshiba Leading innovation" screen with please wait. After the circular points are displayed for a few moments, then the screen becomes white.

Unfortunately, I don't have a recovery disk to try this option. I'm looking at a hard drive failure? I hear a feint clicking of the HD as if hunting for something.

If I buy a disc is it likely that I will be able to reinstall using this media?
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

At first, I must say that you have made a mistake after that you bought your laptop you didn t create disk recovery or the so-called recovery media with the original version of Windows 8 that you got with your machine.
I really do not understand why so many people make this mistake and do not create bootable recovery media installation backup image recovery.

In any case, on this path virtual that is not easy to say what the problem is here and, in my opinion, the better you can do is to back up all your important data and install original recovery image. After doing this, you can test the functionality with the factory settings.

A few days ago, I found interesting options paper of recovery limited after update to Win8.1 - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB4403L30001R01.htm

Order recovery media can be your last step.

    Hello

BSOD (blue screen of death) is primarily a result of software or hardware problems.
It could be a software compatibility issue or just one of the hardware components (RAM, motherboard) could be faulty.

I found some info on the BSOD * BCCode: 3B *.

    + Bug Check 0x3B: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION +.
    + Bug SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION control has a value of 0x0000003B. +
+ Which indicates that an exception happened during execution of a routine that passes from non-preferred to the privileged code code. +

    _Cause_
+ This error has been linked to the excessive use of expanded memory and resulting from user mode graphics drivers enjambment and passing data incorrect of the kernel code. +

So, it seems that 0x3B errors are usually caused by a defective video card drivers.

  • Satellite A200: password appears at startup

    Hello

I bought a brand new series of Satellite A200 and wherever I turn on my laptop it is asking for password.

Can someone help me get this password.
How and from whare I can get that.

    Kind regards

HM, it seems that it is a related issue of BIOS. In this case, please go first to the drivers download site and download the most recent BIOS for your machine. If the password does not change even after you have completed the update of the BIOS then go to the store where you bought the machine and tell them that your computer has a BIOS password since you bought it.

He thinks they should handle your problem in your interest.

  • Re: Performance very slow Satellite C855-1GN - startup procedure takes 15 min

My sister bought a Satellite C855-1GN installed with Win7 64bits in December (typical - 4 days of warranty now) and for a time found it getting more slower.

She asked me to take a look for her, and she is quite right, that this laptop is appalling insensitive to even the most basic tasks such as opening Windows Explorer, which takes more than a minute to open.

It's a similar story about any button on this machine, sometimes longer depending on what has been clicked. Getting even the startup thing of press office being visible (and even less usable) takes a staggering 15 minutes more.

Text input, such the password of user to connect to Windows, or a URL in any browser (IE and chrome installed by default) causes the circle of rotation equivalent to an hourglass at least 60 seconds before anything happens, as does pretty much any click button. For example, Windows Start button or right click on anything whatsoever.

Initially, I suspected some kind of malware / too much garbage installed. A ran full scans, no problem. Disabled / uninstalled all the bloatware, that I could find, still no difference.
Close all the features, always terribly slow for energy savings.

Windows experience / Task Manager / resmon all report nothing out of the ordinary or anything by eating resources. In desperation, provided Out Of Box Experience with the help of the hidden restore partition... who took more than 24 hours to complete, and is not an exaggeration.

I went to bed, then work during the day, and he had not yet finished until I had been home for a couple of hours.

This machine now has a completely new (although specific Toshiba) install Win7, and runs just as horribly slow. I'm still waiting for the office, 17 minutes after power on before typing this. It took several resets and is yet to install anything.

6 GB of RAM is ample. While not a P3, 5 or 7, there is no way that an Intel B950 double heart clocked to a class, certainly not top than 2.10 GHz can be this slow (that is a few months ago), I had the terrible Celeron in my time, which were infinitely faster than that.

Has anyone else had a performance of same pathos of this model? If so, we are anyone of you is able to solve it? Or should we bin just this paperweight?

    Hello

In the past, we've discussed several times on similar problems, and some people were dissatisfied with the performance of the portable nine pre-installed with original recovery image.
Small example, you can check this thread. In general it is described you can do with this machine. You, I prefer to use the word optimize operating system preinstalled. It will run better and faster.

Otherwise it can also be problem with HARD drive. If your sister love this machine, I recommend a small investment in new hardware. Exchange HARD SSD drive. SSD aren't so cheap anymore so you can buy one, I would say, with 250 GB and I think that there is enough free space for their work.

You can't imagine how fast they are. I use on my old P500. Laptop starts in just 40 seconds.

I m pretty sure with new SSD and optimized original Win7 that you got your sister with this laptop will have a good and pretty fast machine.

  • Re: Satellite L650 stuck Startup Repair mode

    Hello

I was asked to look at the Satellite L650 laptop for a friend because they could not get going.
Not sure they did before me do yesterday, as far as I know, it's that they couldn't turn it on. I wanted to get into Safe Mode, but it went to the Startup Repair Mode and is stuck in this at all times.

It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Have you tried from the DVD player, but it is up to the use of the hard drive, even tried running in my network, but without a bit of luck.

It does not go to the repair step because it gives me the opportunity to enter a password.

Someone at - it ideas how I can work around this problem, you can.

    HAL

    Hello

I think you have only two options here:
    (1) you are going to use HARD drive recovery options
    (2) or you can start the recovery using the recovery disk

    For HARD drive recovery:

    Recovery disk:
A friend created one in the past?

  • Satellite A300 - "password" on the splash screen

Hello, I have a problem with my Satellite A300-14 PSAJ0E-00W00PSK.

    * Screen with input "Enter password" appears every time when I turn it on can guess when I put wrong password 3 times, my laptop turns off. I had installed windows 7 with ubuntu for 2 years with no problems, but I can't boot any operating system present (even when I boot with the CD/DVD inserted with windows/ubuntu).

    * When can I get correct password? Or there is another solution to this problem? *

Thank you for all the advice!

I assume that your laptop is locked with BIOS password.
BIOS password can be set only but I put t understand your situation.
You have blocked your notebook with BIOS password or someone did it without your knowledge.
Do you have an explanation for this situation.

In any case, if the BIOS password is not known to you, you must contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask for help. They can remove for you.

  • How to change the motherboard on my Satellite L655D password?

I need to change the password on my laptop Toshiba Satellite L655d motherboard, but I don't know where I can.
I'll be very grateful if someone can help me.

    Concerning

    Full Saravia

Password motherboard, you mean the BIOS password. Right?

First of all, he must know the old password you?
If you do not know the old password to the BIOS, you will not be able to remove this
In this case, you will need to contact the ASP from Toshiba (service) in your country.
The technician would be able to remove an unknown password.

  • Start on Satellite BIOS password click on L9W Mini-B

    Hello everyone,
I am now digging some time arround to find a solution to my problem.

    I have a 'locked' Toshiba Satellite click Mini (L9W - B) convertible.

Is it now somehow a "starting password" on this subject.
Im not sure if this is a BIOS/UEFI but I think so.

The quick apears just after the Toshiba Logo.

I don't know what happened exactly,
the Tablet has set a certain time arround in my wifes office.
(And the battery has been drained, of course).

    I have therefore two theories.

    1. My wife put accidentally ==> a password (but she said she never did something like that. And I couldn't think to set any password...)
    2. Or somehow, the password is "activated" by the drop in power

Because on the first time after loading, it carried a message, the cmos & time date was wrong and now is the value by default, or so.
-I couldn't remember the exact words.
But I never heard of this kind of behaivior of your laptop / PC before.

Can someone confirm that this is a UEFI password prompt?

Is there a way to clean the bios/uefi?

(As on laptops / desktop you can erase it by a rider or by removing the CMOS battery.)

I don't know if the click Mini has a TPM device on it. ==> This would mean that the unit is now garbage?

I tried to enter the boot menu (as described for the for the other Toshiba Windows Encore tablets).

but that has not worked so far.

(Programmable volume or Volume brightness and turn on with or without plugged AC.)

I think that investment for Technical Support would not make sense for such a low camera in range...

Are there no possibility to put it to the factory settings?

All the suggestions of the community?

    WTF?
