Satellite L30 Vista screen don't be turned on; extrnal monitor works only in Mode safe

Hello

I have LS30-10s.
first the laptop screen not lit up even if I saw a pale ghost of the icons etc.;

I tried the fact to unplug and now the switch down (battery is dead long) successfully intermittent and random;

I borrowed an external LCD (Lenovo $) and went well, and by pressing Fn + F5 would actually sometimes make the laptop screen live too.

I changed the screen inverter and that seemed to restore the laptop screen, but the next time I restarted + or + screen would work unless I chose safe mode.

Currently I can only use the screen external and only in safe mode.

Everyone knows this?

Hello

Just a few questions:
The external monitor works properly before disassembling the laptop and replaced the LCD inverter Board?
What exactly happens if you start the computer in normal mode?

Have you tried to start Notepad using a Live CD (PE Win or Linux live CD)?
I would also recommend to check if new OS install is possible.

Safe mode is just a test environment and the system does not access all recourses of material by using safe mode.
So, theoretically the issue could be related to a faulty hardware or system problems.

  • Satellite L30 - 10 s - two 1 GB memory modules do not work together

    Hi guys,.

So a couple of weeks ago, I bought a capsual of 1 GB for my laptop - I run vista 32 bit and I already have (1) 1 GB capsual and capsual 512 MB (1).
The problem is that when I put the two 1GBs together, only a GB of RAM shows. But when I put a new one just in my old 512 MB and everything is fine - display of 1.5 GB of RAM.

I read the other topics on this subject and it seems quite a common problem - but I have no idea what whatever it or speak it so any help on as BOS or something, I have to do would be great...

    Thank you a lot =)

    Hello!

Can you please send the exact specifications of these two RAM modules?

Hmm, I really never heard Capsual memory. I put t know why two modules of 1 GB don't work together, but maybe they are not compatible for the laptop or don t work in dual channel mode

In your case I would try it with Kingston memory. I always use it to improve my notebooks and I m very happy.
Normally, you can improve the Satellite L30 to 2 GB RAM Max and you need DDR2-533 modules to upgrade.

    Good bye

  • Vista can only boot mode safe after updating Panda Internet Security installed on the system

Original title: VISTA can only successfully starts in Mode safe. When you try the System Restore restarts in Normal Mode and restore failed "Volume Shadow Copy Service used by the system restore does not work"

Problem started (I think) after that PANDA INTERNET SECURITY did a update and says a restart is required (29/09/2010). System could not restart normally. Started, but virtually nothing loaded and couldn't do anything.

In Safe Mode, first mistake was a Protection Exception for TPSrv.exe (a PANDA executable)

Tried to do a Safe Mode system restore to point before PANDA update (28/09/2010). System Restore starts safe mode and then restart in Normal Mode.  After about an hour comes up with error message "Volume Shadow Copy Service used by the system restore does not work. (0 x 81000202) event log.

I also tried sfc.exe but found no compromise windows

    Hello

    Follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click the Start button and in the search box, type in: Services.

    b. press "Enter" to open the Services window.

    c. find related services that are listed above and check the status (on the road) and the Startup Type (automatic).

    d. double-click the service to change the status of started and set the startup type to automatic.

Try to do a system restore and check.

    Method 2:

Since you are able to boot into safe mode, I suggest you perform a clean boot and disable all non-Microsoft applications, then boot normally and control.

To perform a clean boot follow the steps mentioned in the link given below.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Follow step 7 to start the computer in normal startup.

    Method 3:

If you think it's a Panda Security software that causes this problem then, I suggest to uninstall Panda security of the system and check if you're able to boot normally.

  • Satellite A100-796 screen suddenly flips & occasionally turns black.

9 months ago, I bought my laptop (Satellite A100-796).
Since a week ago, the screen flickers from time to time very fast (for like a second). What's worse, the screen came to turn completely black twice suddenly while he was studying. It seems that the computer was still active, but the screen went black still (on the power but in black only). The only solution was to press the power button for like 10 seconds to stop the computer laptop everything.

I have installed new software, so I don't really know if it of a hardware problem or not? Everyone recognizes these symptoms, or you can give me any advice? I always had a pick-up-and-return-guarantee, do I have to use this right now or is there a quicker and better solution?

I really hope that someone can guide me through this, given that the laptop is very precious to me.

    Kind regards

    Liem

We should read about some facts. The fact is that this issue must be linked to a hardware malfunction.
Kody said the FL inverter could be faulty, but I think that the internal display could also causes this issue

There is only one real way of this knowledge. The parts must be checked!

So contact the ASP in your country and ask for verification of the laptop.

    Best regards

  • Satellite L30-101 - screen is black

    Hello

I don't know what is happening here, but at the start of the laptop screen is black

the ilight power is on and I can hear the boot HARD drive, but the screen is blank

    all ideas
    Thank you
    Sarra

    Hello

You can see an image on the external monitor?

If you see an image on the external monitor, I think that the internal display FL inverter is faulty and must be replaced.
If the display on the external monitor is black as it seems to be a malfunction of the equipment of the graphics card or the motherboard.

    Check it!
To repair your laptop, you can go to the authorized service provider nearest. Technicians can repair it for you.

  • Satellite L30 - 11 d is not completely turned off

As the title says, when I select 'Shut Down' in the start menu under Vista, the system says it stops, but w/lan stays on and if you press the eject button, the dvd opens.
Also the battery will drain overnight, so it's obviously not turn off completely.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello

Chose the option of closure or sleep?
Please note that the default option is set in the standby mode. This might be the reason why the laptop didn't t stop correctly.

    Check again!

  • Function keys no longer work Satellite L30 - Vista

Substitutes for the function keys functions (flight / wireless/numlock/etc.) do not work - I deleted the drivers somehow.
Can someone tell me how to run again?

Sorry buddy but that no one can help you. Some info to offer or accept that nobody will offer no solution to this.

  • Satellite L30 VISTA - DVD player does not empty and clean recorded DVD

DVD - RW 4 x discs ignored. When I try to 'burn' of ULead DVD Movie Factory or play a previously "burned" DVD made on my old model Qosmio, the DVD tray opens (with the disk in it) and with the message "Please insert disc". If the tray closes with the same disc always in it, it does exactly the same thing again.

Product Commercilly DVD is most recognized and played. This problem exists since the laptop was purchased. Would appreciate any help.

If this problem existed on the first day, why did you wait so long and not tried to resolve as soon as possible?

I recommend you to install the Nero trial version and check the functionality of engraving. Try please to create CDs or DVDs burning data or maybe some movies on DVD. Test these media. If you report about the same so I can believe that there is a serious problem.

One last thing. Try to start with recovery media. Please let me know if the recovery procedure starts correctly.

  • Satellite 210CS - the screen stays black (even to an external monitor)

Dear Toshiba Forum members and guests.

Several months ago, I found an old laptop. When I turn it on, the screen remains black. And when I connect an external monitor to the laptop via the VGA input, two screens are black. I used a flashlight, pulled on the LCD screen of the laptop, but I don't see all the details on the screen.

I thought it was because of the empty RAM slots. This week, I bought a RAM-unit and installed.
I tried to start the laptop again, but nothing on the two screens (even though I used a flashlight).
I searched the Internet for certain solutions, but nothing works. I also tried updating the BIOS, found on the Web from Toshiba site.

    Some information on the laptop:
    Toshiba Satellite 210CS/1.3
    PA1230E
    48 MB RAM
    1.3 GB HARD DRIVE

    Date of manufacture: 4 ^ th ^ October 1997

If you want more information or you would like more information, please put a comment in this thread.

I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

I think there must be some serious hardware problem.
I don't think that someone will be able to tell what part exactly failures because it could be any inner part.
You buy the RAMs again. Well, in this case, we can exclude RAM problem, but there is probably a motherboard, CPU or a graphics card problem.

From my point of view of the few you don't have many options: perhaps you could found some other good treatments Satellite 210CS somewhere in the internet since it is not very easy to get parts for this oldie

  • Satellite L755D: black screen after startup or switching of external monitor

I have a strange problem with my Satellite L755D. I normally use an external monitor that works very well.

If I want to switch to the laptops monitor using Fn + F5, the laptop monitor remains dark, but you can see (more guessing) office.

Just the bright background lights. Same thing if I boot without the external monitor. In the beginning (phase BIOS?), you can see the normal symbols, then the screen turns to.

Funny, is that these two problems do not appear when I cut the power supply and the laptop runs on battery only.
Any ideas, what the reason could be?

    Thank you
    Mason

Funny, is that these two problems do not appear when I cut the power supply and the laptop runs on battery only.

Maybe you should check the configuration of power plan that is used only in battery mode.
It might be possible that the backlight settings have been set at a lower value by using the power of the battery.
I recommend you to check this in the ATI catalyst and windows power options.

  • How to set the Satellite Pro M10 screen as secondary in a configuration double monitor?

I tried to use the laptop as a secondary display screen in a dual monitor Setup, but I can not change in display properties. To choose an external monitor like main screen is grayed out. Only option is to use the external monitor as a secondary screen or a clone, but this isn't what I want.
    I tried the things:
    * Laptop computer in a docking station
    * Update the video card drivers
    * Use UltraMon

    Any ideas on that?

    Hi Steen

Can you please tell me what model of laptop you have? Is this other older or the new brand? As much as I know this option is not available on all Toshiba laptops. On my Tecra I'm not able to use this option, but I know with certainty that on some cell phones, something like this is possible.

  • Satellite L30 - unrecognized USB device

I am a pc novice, trying to help my mother to fix his Toshiba satellite L30 series.
None of the usb ports seem to work. They all worked very well before.

A printer is installed on this computer seems to be the only change, and it worked for a while.
When he stopped it appeared to turn off the dvd/cd player and I had to download new drivers to do this, which now works fine.

But when I plug anything into the usb ports, they come with the annoying "device not recognized" I clicked on the message that does nothing. "
I restarted and disconnected from the.

I reloaded the printing software and removed and reloaded it several times.
I've removed all the usb ports and restarted it if they are reloaded.
Nothing is known about the ports not even the mouse, she had used before. I hope someone can help.

As I said I'm a newbie to pc and I dare say use a mac, so please talk to Slowey! Thank you all.

    Hello

I think that you need to reinstall the chipset driver:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

    * Note *, I found in this forum that drivers from the chipset built into the display driver, then I guess you have to install the display driver.

  • Satellite Pro L300D - screen is totally dark

    Hello
We have a problem with this L300d where we can do pretty much on the screen, but it is quite dark. We believe that it is the backlight that has disappeared and is tempted to replace just the screen.

Anyone know what whether other problems, it could be, or if it's a problem at all?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi pecccl,

    > oes anyone know anything other problems, it could be, or if it's a problem at all?
There is no problem to solve this problem if you use original spare parts Toshiba.

But if the screen is totally dark and an external monitor works that he could be the display FL inverter internal. This part controls the backlight of the screen and if it defective s you should still see a picture, but very very dark. Maybe you move the display to a certain position to see that.
Advantage of FL inverter is only because what he s much less expensive than display

In General if you don't know which part is faulty you must contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can check and replace the defective part.

  • Noisy fan on Satellite L30

    Hi, anyone can help me?

I have a big problem with my Satellite L30-134 FAN
It is very noisy; I can't work on my computer.

How can I repair or replace?
I tried to get into the fan, but I had not cut open the box.

I hope someone will help me.

    Hello!

The fan always runs at the highest level? Perhaps you need to clean it with a jet of compressed air. You must not remove anything.

You can get a new fan of a FSA (authorized service provider). You can search here: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
They can also replace the fan.
