Satellite L300 - 20 d - recovery system disk backup is missing

I have Norton Protection against viruses and when I backed up my laptop I saved the backup in the D drive which is partition backup drive...
I want to factory reset the laptop but I can't do t it says can t find disk backup

Is there a CD I can clean the laptop with... I think there must be something missing in the D drive backup.
Can someone tell me how to sort plsss
I have no backup disk and no CD came with the laptop that I lost.

The history is somewhat confusing.

Factory settings you can have on two different ways:
-using the installation discs for recovery
-with the help of HARD drive recovery option > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

> I want to reset the laptop but I t this, as it says t find disk backup
Can you please explain to us how you tried to reset the laptop to the factory settings and on how you got this message?

  • Satellite L300 - Download the recovery disk?

    Hey there,

can anyone help? I got a Satellite L300 and today I wanted to reset everything. So, I started a recovery of the product. Too bad I haven't checked the DVD before you start. It struck although I use it before. So recovery stopped in the middle of nowwhere. I can't complete recovery - I can't launch computer - and I can't copy the disc on another computer (tried of course).

Is there a site where I can download a disk image of the recovery of product anywhere?

    Thank you!

    Hey horst,.

You can download t the Toshiba Recovery disk, but you can order a new one by clicking here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

By the way: If the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba is still installed you can also use HARD drive recovery option. So go to the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. After that, you have factory again and you can create a new recovery disk.
But remember: it is only possible on preinstalled OS. I guess it is Vista?

  • Satellite L300 - deleted file recovery

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 and by mistake I deleted the HARD drive recovery folder located in the E partition, now I can't do my system restore in case something goes wrong. I wonder how do I reinstall HARD drive recovery disk creator.

    Hello!

If you deleted the folder in HARD drive recovery you can t create a recovery disk more.
Also, you are not able to reinstall Windows without disc.

Reinstall the Toshiba recovery disc creator will not solve this problem. It is only the program doesn t contain recovery files.

So in your case, you need a recovery disk. You can get one from a local ASP or you buy a new Toshiba here directly:

  • Satellite 1640CDT lack of recovery boot disk

    Hello
I'm trying to reinstall Win 98SE on a 1640CDT of friends old Satellite that is to come with a lot of errors when loading. I've got two product recovery CD Toshiba but not the product recovery startup disk that will contain all the batch files to load the cd in my opinion. I can create a workable Win98SE boot disk, but as it lacks the batch files to do anything with the CD it is not very useful. Any ideas where I could get Boot Recovery Disk of Tosh or other options to load the system back from the recovery cd?
Any assistance received with gratitude :)

    Hello

You must start the laptop with restore disc 1. If you have lost this disk, you can buy one from a Toshiba service partner.

    Hello

Seems that the laptop can not find the bootable source.
This means that the HARD drive is malfunctioning or the boot sector is defective.

By the way; have you tried to change the boot order in the BIOS?

  • Acer Aspire M5 w/Windows 8 - e recovery system disk does not start

My M5 of Acer one-year-old has failed and now I have a blue screen that says "the Boot Configuration data file is missing some required information, File: \BCD, error code: 0xc000000d.» I ordered an e recovery disk that was supposed to solve the problem. The instructions say "Insert system disk labeled disk," "restart the computer and press F12...» "When I do this, the tracks of the disk of the system for a minute or two, stops, and a minute later the laptop stops. I don't think the system disk is accessible to all. My Acer is two months out of warranty... it's so frustrating. The advice is much appreciated!

Just an update... Blayn was very helpful and directed me to the Acer support. The problem has been resolved by directing the bios to boot from the hard drive instead of the hard drive. It was a little difficult to achieve... I couldn't have done it without the excellent guidance and support from Acer. My Acer has worked very well since, and I appreciate help in this forum!

I create an Image of my laptop system recovery. Use disks or a (memory stick) USB flash drive? If I use a USB flash drive, GBs how do I need?

It seems that your computer does not contain an internal DVD drive, USB support would be most appropriate to your situation. If please see the computers HP - perform a recovery of the system HP (10 Windows) and select "Create recovery media" for instructions on creating the support of HP recovery on a USB flash drive. When you start the process and select the USB option, we'll tell you USB flash drive minimum requirements. In most cases, a (maximum) 32 GB USB flash drive will work fine.

  • Satellite L300 - issue of recovery CD

I need to restore factory settings and have somehow managed to delete my recovery partition...
After a few bit of playing and reading I thought it better to order just a recovery CD from the backup media on Toshiba thingy.

Now, when playing around, there was not a lot of people who said that their recovery CD did not work because they had no recovery partition.

So, before you start throwing £30 autour, I figure it better to ask:

    * Is the restoration of recovery CD of my laptop to its factory settings WITHOUT the recovery partition? *

    Thanks for any help :D

    > Will be the recovery CD restore my laptop to its factory WITHOUT the recovery partition settings?

    YES!

If you have the recovery DVDs, then you could use it to restore the laptop to factory settings.
Many people deleted the recovery image of HARD drive on the second partition and were NOT able to create the recovery disk. But if you have this drive then the HARD drive recovery files are not necessary to perform the recovery procedure.

I am tryng to perform a recovery of the laptop above. My daughter-in-law did not purchase backup discs, so I had to buy a new set of discs from Toshiba. Everything is fine until I get to the page "That is the name of your computer," where it stops and goes no further, but the mouse still works and continues to play background music.

I tried several ways to reinstall the operating system, but it always stops at the same point.

  • Satellite L300 and error recovery

    Hi all

When you use the recovery disk I get the following error: HDD01 is missing.
The laptop was fine before recovery

    See you soon

    Rob

    Love all here: _
    If you are not able to recovery the laptop because your HDD recovery option doesn't work more or because you t n t have the recovery disc, then you have two options;

You order a new Toshiba Recovery disk, or you use the original Microsoft disc to reinstall the Windows operating system.
    But there is little difference between the Toshiba recovery disc and the disc of Microsoft;
TOSHIBA disk contains all the tools and the driver Toshiba but MS disk contains only a Win OS and you will have to download and reinstall also the tools and the driver of Toshiba.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300-1AY DVD recovery hangs at startup

I'm trying to recover my system from the recovery disks.
I created them since installing Vista from Toshiba.
Recovery has worked for me before. But now, there is just a black screen (and a restart after a while).

I gues this has to do with the partitions of hard drive that I have modified/deleted the original.
I do some partitions before I run recovery? Or do I have to remove them all before you start the recovery disk?

Or I have to do something to force the recovery disk in repartition my hard disk?

    Hello

I guess you used the recovery, Toshiba disc creator to create a recovery disk is right?

    Back to your question;
The recovery disk would be to format the HARD drive and erase the partitions automatically if there s anything and how many partitions have been created.

But good course in some cases, the recovery could crashes due to HARD drive problem
You have a Win XP disk? If so, try to boot from this drive and format the HARD drive again then use the Toshiba Recovery disk and try to install Vista.

    Good luck

    Hello

I've never tried, but I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?MessageID=228171

Select this check box. It may be useful

Alternatively, you can try to install the new copy of the Windows operating system using the USB.
There are a lot of instructions how to do this with Win 7. Just google it
After installation of cool Win 7 you could install the drivers of page European driver Toshiba.

  • Satellite A660 Win7 - power management system action center is missing driver

I replaced the battery on my laptop Toshiba A660-15J and a few months, is back with the battery high capacity and now Action Center 7 win keeps popping up with the message that I need to download and install the missing driver for power management system.

The power supply has been replaced not at all, nothing has changed, except for the battery.

Costs of light on the functions of the laptop, as it did before the battery change.
It turns on and is red and after a few hours, it becomes white and the battery level shows that it is 100%

The problem is that this center of windows 7 says that missing one driver ACER? -> WTF?

The link to download it from DOES NOT

It seems odd that the link that windows provides its on a site of acer, but since part´s manufacturers other´s manufacturers use it does not at all surprise me.

I want just the clarification and confirmation of what I have to do here, and why to toshiba Service does not show this update?

I read that the BIOS update can fix this, however there is NO bios update for my laptop.
I have also contacted MICRO$ OFT but I'm still waiting for a response from them.

I also read other messages on various toshiba forums that relate to this same problem, but they used to say that the model is not supported by toshiba in this country...

I clicked on the link on this forum directly on the site of Toshiba Australia, so please do not tell me that my model is not supported on this forum of Toshiba Europe!

    The exact message:
Download and install the driver for your power management system
Your power management system is missing a driver.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Press or click on to download the driver of the A + c + e + r society Web site
Download and extract the driver files
Type and click on save or save as, and then save the file to your desktop. If you can t choose where to save the file, you will need to find and copy it to your desktop. When you download files, most of the web browsers save them in the folder to download on your computer.

Maybe that's the problem. The new battery is fully compatible?

Here, I found some accessories for this model:

    Compatible battery are:

  • Satellite L300. Observation on the issues cover the recovery of Vista on a new HARD drive

    Hi all

I need to reinstall Vista (on a Toshiba Satellite L300) runs the "recovery disc" created by Toshiba disc creator before recovery and using a disc of "nine" (Toshiba MK2035GSS, 200 GB).

    Issues related to the:

    (1) I have to partition and format the new drive before starting with recovery disks / DVD (s).
or which will be done through the recovery process?

    (2) what is the reason for which the current disc is divided into two size equal C: and D: partitions, while
D: partition seems to be reservered for the system, but only 5 GB are used?

    (3) what is the purpose of the partition 3. ("inactive") with about 1.5 GB of space?

Thanks in advance for your support and help!

    Whalter

    > 1) I have to partition and format the new drive before starting with recovery disks / DVD (s).
or which will be done through the recovery process?
No, because the HARD disk should be formatted during the recovery process.

(> 2) what is the reason for which the current disc is divided into two size equal partitions C: and D:, while
D: partition seems to be reservered for the system, but only 5 GB are used?
On the D partition, you can find the files and folder from HARD drive recovery. HARD disk recovery allows you to recover the laptop HARD drive and in this case, you don't need the recovery disc

(> 3) what is the purpose of the partition 3. ("inactive") with about 1.5 GB of space?
It is a Vista partition and is necessary for the backup files. Vista is able to repair the operating system if something bad is going to do this the necessary files that are stored on this partition.
