  I have an old toshiba A30-151 that has fallen down a while a go because of the power connector snap into the power socket. This had happened before at the back of the power supply, but I managed to solder back together. Unfortunately it broke again and has so the PIN inside the socket.

  So after having managed to get into the nitty gritty of the laptop and have the motherboard out, I had a replacement for welded to the. Problem is there is a missing piece. I have a picture of this here:

Now I have not tested yet cause I have to go through the process of implementation of back together which is tomorrow nights work. I was wondering if it will work without it, if I can get a replacement part for this, or if I could figure out what it is (for example a resistor) replace it with a piece of stock to its equivalent.

  I realize this is probably a little extreme, but any help in this matter would be appreciated.

  The computer store where I bought my laptop in August advised that the pin of the connector in my charger is broken and this also broke the load pin in the side of the laptop.   This is the power connector on the power supply that is broken, or is the connector at the back of the laptop you?

  If it's your laptop then it is normally soldered on the motherboard and will result in the replacement of the motherboard unless you can find a suitable replacement connector and try to re - solder it.

  If the adapter connector, you can cut the broken one and weld on a replacement that you should be able to get most of the spare parts electric stockists. Ensure that you get the correct polarity since it is DC current.

  Unfortunately I n t have the L300 and I can't say much on the subject, but on my laptop the DC port doesn t pass. He fixed s and I think that it would be advisable to contact the ASP in your country. The technician must check to ensure that there is no hardware problem.

  I installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my brand-new u. Satellite L300D-12
  So far, everything works fine, but there are two things bother me.

  1. I have problem with suspends to RAM. It does not work. If I use the option to boot, the screen goes black but the laptop is still running (you can hear it).
  In addition, nothing happens when I press the power button to exit the sleep option.
  I completely close the laptop and restart to be back in Ubuntu.
  Maybe someone has some ideas how I can fix the problem?

  My/etc/default/acpi-support have these entries:

  The Satellite L300D-10U belongs to the series of PSLC0E and it supports the Realtek LAN card.
  LAN driver can be found on the page of Realtek.

  You ask how to disable the modem? I think you mean how to reset modem DSL
  Well, usually your modem should support an ON / OFF button simply turn it off and then turn it back on.

  If you are unable to access the internet then you should first check if your modem is properly configured and that the right data ISP (internet service provider) was used.

  Sorry, but that's all I can say right now I think you should just check your modem settings, make sure that the NIC is properly recognized and connect the model of the laptop using a LAN cable.

• Satellite L300D will not start

  I have a satellite L300D 11v. Power I have three lights green, power, suite and battery, DVD looking for some time nothing happens.

  Tried many things.
  Interchangeability and remove the ram with restarts
  Removing and replacing HD
  Remove the battery, hold the power button for a minute then power application and try to turn on,.
  As above with the battery.
  None of the above has worked, I suspect either of the BIOS chip lost his memory or it is fried.
  I will try to reinstall the BIOS memory, but without the work of the OS I'm not sure how do.
  And I'm not sure that the update of the BIOS I downloaded from Toshiba is correct because of the manual I downloaded was the L350, and yes I have enter the correct details to try three times.   Yesterday afternoon I went on my laptop but the screen was black, it seemed to the power upward but always because I could see the lights flash like the battery, power & HDD. I ve tried to take the battery and back, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds +, but nothing seems to work. What else could I try? My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300D.

  It may be a problem with one of your memory modules, if you have two memory cards in your laptop try just using one at a time, but if you have only one then you need to test with another.
