    Hello, can someone help me?

I am looking for an audio driver for my Satellite L40-143 PSL40E for XP.
This laptop was a Vista originally, but I decided to downgrade to xp.
After installing xp doesn´t find the Audio device.

I tried a number of drivers, but no one was good especially this model is different from the others maybe it's not possible to use xp on this unit but I didn t feel like giving up.

    So please help.

    Hello

The sound card is ADI AD1986A of Analog Devices Inc. chip.
Chips aboard made it part of the mother board s.

I recommend this HowTo which allows you to check this sound chip and search online for the right driver:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

Additional info; to my knowledge, you also Win XP SP3.
This is necessary because SP3 contains fixes needed for sound.

  • Driver package necessary for Satellite L40-143 PSL40E

In the download section of the model Satellite L40-143 it constitutes a restriction on the compatibility of the driver. It is said that it only works on models with the numbers of models PSL48, PSL49, PSL4C and PSL4B. Looks that no one is able to answer my question here. Who can I ask for more?
    I can't ask the dealer.

  • Satellite L40-143 (PSL40E-04E00LGR) - memory upgrade

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop: Satellite L40 - 143 Modell Nr.: PSL40E-04E00LGR

I can find my phone on the support site and the following information for the memory (which is consistent with the information I have):

    Standard: 1,024 (512 + 512) MB
    Max Erweiterbarkeit: 2.048 MB
    Technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

I understand I can go to a maximum of 2 GB. I have two questions:

    1. question:
By clicking on: 'Zubehör' I get the suggestion to buy the next memory:

    1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3411U-2M1G
    512 MB memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3412S - 2M 51

It is however 533 MhZ DDR2 PC4300, in my manual and on the technical page details it says PC 5300 at 667 MHZ, well? What is the good memory to buy?

    2. question:
I now have 512 + 512 MB in the notebook. Can I buy a single module 2 GB instead of the two modules of 1 GB?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

In your case, I would like to buy RAM with the specifications of the user manual. In the worst cases it runs only on 533 MHz but I tried a little with Google and it seems that the laptop is using 667 MHz modules.
Moreover, I can recommend high-quality Kingston memory.

Regarding your last question, you can only buy two 1 GB modules. It is the maximum capacity for each RAM module.

  • Satellite L40-139: new graphics driver is causing the problem after waking from sleep

I have a three month old Toshiba Satellite L40-139 (PSL40E) with 1 GB of RAM with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. This laptop worked very well for me for the basic headquarters far tasks, and I would have no problem recommending.

In the last days I've updated the software and drivers from the Microsoft Update web site.

Since the update driver Mobile Intel(r) 945 Express Chipset Family (to version 7.14.10.1350, dated October 18, 2007), the screen resolution at 800 x 600 after awakening from the sleep state. The only way I found to fix it is to restart the PC.

Other articles published on the web, I understand that this particular driver (Mobile Intel(r) 945 Express Chipset Family driver 7.14.10.1350 version) has caused many other problems on a variety of hardware and software platforms.

Does anyone have a definitive solution for Satellite L40?

    I looked at four options.

    1. let the new installed driver and restart Windows each time after waking up from sleep mode. Rather, I must not do this.

    2. using the Restore Point created by Windows Update before the update of the driver, roll back to an earlier time. This seems to be a good course if it works.

3 download an older version of the driver and reinstall it. I don't know which version would work but note that others have had success with the 7.14.10.1280 version. I guess a similar version could be included in the driver Package that can be downloaded from Toshiba Europe site, but have heard that the time required to download this software can exceed ten hours and am therefore reluctant to try.

    4. the fourth option is not really possible. I should be able to "Roll-Back" the driver in Device Manager, but the button is disabled.

Although only a minor problem, it is very irritating and I would like to address them without causing other problems. Does anyone else have this problem? Someone has fixed it successfully?

    Hello Peter

If I understand correctly, you use your usual laptop for daily work and you don't need any computer high-performance notebook. If I'm right I have to say that you should be happy if the laptop works well and stable.

I don't really see any reason why you wanted to update chipset driver. In any case, you should try to roll back the BONES of time earlier and I hope everything will work again. There is absolutely no risk, and you can test it.

    Please post the result.

WLAN on my Satellite L40-143 does not work since I Modem Alice-1121.

    Who can help me, please!

    Hi kenny_21,

If you have a new WLAN router you must change the configuration that I think

The new router is visible under WLAN connections and can connect?

If so try to connect. The standard router password can be found in the manual of it and no doubt, there will be new addresses MAC first before connect you. I put t know the exact configuration.

Also check the options the WIRELESS card with TCP/IP. Usually, you need automatic IP addresses.
