Satellite L45 recovery stops at 17% - ERROR: 10-FC12 - 045D - error recovery

Well, the other day my L45 frozen, so I restarted it-to find that was missing a file of the operating system.

So, I tried the system restore, and it ran until the end where he said he had a problem and closed.
Then I tried the recovery disks. He ran everything from disc 1 to disc 2, began to restore, and then stopped at 17% restored.
I tried the disks several times again and again, it stops at 17% and gives me "ERROR: 10-FC12 - 045D"-"error recovery".

I looked everywhere for this error is specific to, but got no results.

Really, I don't think you can find explanations for this mistake because Toshiba use software RECO for the installation of the OS. My experience says that, in this case, there are two possibilities: either is defective recovery CD/DVD or HARD drive do some problems.

I recommend getting the facilities original Microsoft CD and try to install clean Windows if the facilities procedure finishes successfully. If maybe it is really defective HARD drive and after 17% there is a bad sector.

Check it out. In any case I recommend you contact the service provider authorized in your country. They can say with certainty what the problem is here.

The laptop works well otherwise, so I recorded that restore data, I needed and tried a system, but the computer can't find any restore points.

As a last resort, I tried the Toshiba product recovery disk which I had never used it before. He begins to read it ok, then asks for the choice of the English language. About 10 minutes later it stops with the error message "could not get a writing of the language of the INI file! Article: [Commom] key InstallCMD file D:\Setenv.ini.

I have since bought a new portable Satellite L450D that I write this, but I'm eager to try to lift my L30 and working again as a spare. I contacted Toshiba UK in case there was a problem with the recovery disk, but due to licensing issues they can only redirect me to the support of EU toshiba backup site to buy a new recovery disk. As I already have a recovery disk, I don't want to buy another for the same results. Does anyone have ideas on how I could get the recovery disk to load entirely and recover my laptop to its factory settings?

At first, I must say that you should back up all your important data to an external device like external HD or USB. When you use the recovery facilities disc all the partition is deleted.

I don't know why you cannot use livery recovery disk, but the only thing to do is to visit nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and show the problem. If they can confirm recovery DVD is defective, I assume that you will get a new free of charge.

  • Satellite L45-S4687 does not start

My Satellite L45-S4687 has power but will not start.
The DVD - RW turns for a while, I get a quick ghost on the screen, the led lights up, but then it stops.

May I know whether the hard drive or the failure of the cpu?

    Ken

Certainly, it is not a HARD drive issue because you see an error on a screen if the HARD drive is faulty.
The problem could be linked to the motherboard, memory, etc.

    But just a hint;
Remove the battery and unplug the adapter from the laptop. Wait about 30 minutes and then reconnect the two parts. Try to turn on the machine.
If it doesn't, then it s time for the technician to the laptop.

  • Satellite A60 - recovery and install xp problem

I have a laptop A60 which is slightly more than 1 year.

A couple of days, about 2 minutes after the start, the screen flashed with a new window (I was unable to see the content, it's appeared and disappeared so fast), then the laptop turned off.

I rebooted, could not boot into winxp I received the error message (please report this problem as a load dll required) missing file. The missing files were all of the system folder.

I then tried the recovery dvd. Everything looked fine, however, he kept failing at windows startup.

Whenever I start the machine now, I get the toshiba logo, which now has lines of Red pixels in the columns towards the bottom of the screen. The same effect occurs when I try to recover using the recovery dvd.

After trying this for some time, I tried to install my own copy of XP home. The laptop starts, attempts to load the files needed for the installation of winxp, gets to the core of the dll and stops with an error 4 impossible to continue.

The recovery cd and winxp cd are in good working condition - validated it on other machines.

Once, the winxp set up did go to the options page so I chose the repair console. I was able to run fixmbr and fixboot. It worked, then I could use the recovery dvd and successfully recovered it. About 2 minutes later, once he had everything installed, I got a blue screen of death and had to re-boot - to see that I was back to the initial situation.

I then used fdisk to set up new partitions. ]

Now, if I try the recovery cd, the laptop starts to load the ghost file and then the screen turns white after a while - the same thing with trying to install a new copy of xp.
I still get the red on the screen pixels when I try the recovery cd and when I start the machine and get the toshiba logo. However, when I try to install xp from my drive, the red lines, points, appear not at all.

My feeling is that I had a master seed virus and need a new hard drive.

Can someone please advise me on this... What do you think that is the problem? If you think it's a virus master seed aswell, can you please tell me what you know how I can fix this or I have to buy a new hard drive. What a RAM problem or a problem with the hard drive controller?

For now, I am going through several thoughts, but keep coming back to the boot virus master = new hard drive!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Paul,.

In this case, my inclination is to suspect the RAM modules. This is based on the assumption that the screen initial 'splash' is not on the hard disk but is stored in the CMOS chip. The fact that your get the Red pixels when it appears would indicate a problem until the hard drive is still accessible.

If you have restored your system using the recovery CD then the Master Boot Record will also have been restored (and is not infected).

Of course, it is perfectly possible that your hard drive may also have problems that would explain the symptoms that you experience when you try to restore you system, but want to try simply to clean the dust from your CPU radiator (with a vacuum cleaner hose) before you try to restore again.

The restore process causes a lot of heat to be generated, and you may well find that it is having a negative effect on your laptop.

    Kind regards

It's strange, but you should try to reinstall the laptop with the Toshiba recovery disc.

Maybe you should first check the Toshiba website for a new driver and BIOS:

Really, I have no idea when it comes to computers, so go easy on me.

    Hello

The data stored on the HARD disk are not the problem. Problem is how to get your laptop to work.
To be honest after reading your statement where you wrote that you are not familiar with computers I n t believe you can do something.

Believe me the best thing you can do is to ask for professional help. Contact the nearest authorized maintainer to check your laptop. They can tell if something is damaged it and how to fix it.

Try to restore the operating system to an earlier time when everything works well. On this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Try also to remove sound card since the Device Manager, and then restart the device.

All the drivers for your device, you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

You can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and replace the file, but it may be easier for you to make boot CD of a Hren.

When you start the Hiren's CD, choose the XP Mode of Mini and it has an interface in XP style Explorer where you can find and replace the winlogon.exe suspicious or missing file.

There should be a copy of winlogon.exe here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Rename your current c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe file (if it exists) and copy / paste the replacement of c:\windows\system32\dllcache.  If you do not see here, search your HARD drive and find one.  Another possibility (depending on your environment) is c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386, or c:\i386 d:\i386...

You just need to replace the file winlogon.exe somehow.

When you are finished replacing, restart as usual (remove the CD bootable of course).

With the help of Hiren, you can also copy offshore on an external device (USB key or HARD drive), all personal security files.

Do you have a Hiren BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the latest version, the download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract the Hirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.

These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.  It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.

Using the Mini XP, you can access Internet, maneuvering around your system, search for files, copy files, replace the files and run the scans for malware, edit the text files (like the c:\boot.ini) etc.

There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system or copy your important personal files on another device (like a USB device or an external drive) in the case where you just give up and decide to reinstall your XP (I hope that you will not make this decision).

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • After upgrading RAM, computer stops and gives error when restarting: "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK".

Original title : OFFICE XP STOPS (MESSAGE of ERROR)

I get the message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK". I just added more memory to my 512 RAM. I USED MY XP TO REBOOT DISC, BUT THERE ARE ALWAYS AFTER PRESSING THE KEY 'R '. ONCE IT STARTS AND SE PAST JUST STOPS AND THE ERROR MESSAGE IS POSTER AGAIN UPWARD. I HAVE THE SAME 'MSCONFIGED' IT NORMAL TO SELECTIVE. I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO SAFE MODE, BUT NOW IT WON'T. I GET JUST THE ERROR MESSAGE.       > WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

    Hello

    You can view these methods:

Method 1: As a first step, check to see if the hard disk becomes detected or listed in the Basic Input/Output system (BIOS). Also, be sure to change the boot order in the CMOS settings so that thehard drive is the first on the list.

Note: To learn how, see the documentation provided with your computer or contact the manufacturer of your computer.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from configuration can resolved BIOS/CMOS settings. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 2: If the manufacturer has installed the Recovery Console on your computer, perform the check disk to fix this.

At the recovery console command line, type:

    Chkdsk /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

    For more information, see:

  • How to fix STOP: C0000221 unknown error

    Hello

I get the following error - STOP: C0000221 unknown error. The message appears for 3-4 seconds a blue screen then the screen goes black and I get the Windows Error Recovery screen. If I choose to start windows normally or in safe mode, I always get the blue screen with STOP: C0000221 message. Therefore, I am locked into this cycle of error messages and I can't really use all the fixes I found in the forums. What should I do?

In early startup options (Safe Mode) have you tried other options like the "last known good configuration?

If that wouldn't work, see this article if this can help:

    How to fix Ntdll.dll errors
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/a/ntdlldll.htm

Since you cannot start the computer, you can start your troubleshooting on number of article 8, which is "Test your memory of the damage." If you cannot perform the memory test, and you have 2 sticks of RAM, skip a turn in turn and check or you can use/borrow RAM from a known working computer.

  • What is good for Satellite L300 recovery CD?

I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had the Windows 7 operating system, but the recovery CD was Windows XP.
And my hard drive was the only partition and Microsoft office was not working on this laptop and I used this CD to solve these problems.

But I lost my previous Windows 7.

Now, it's Windows Xp SP 3 on my computer.
But I'm not satisfied with the XP Windows 7 fault.

How can I get it again for free?

Please let me know what is good for "Toshiba Satellite L300" recovery CD. ?

    > I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had the Windows 7 operating system but the recovery CD was Windows XP.

Hmm, that's strange, I don't have any idea of what Satellite L300 is, but generally a L300 series has been pre-installed with Vista Home Premium

So I m wondering why Win 7 came preinstalled and why you get the Win XP Recovery disk

Usually the L300 should be equipped with a HARD drive recovery partition containing the image of Toshiba.
It should be able to recover the notebook using the recovery of HARD drive and this should help you to reinstall the Vista operating system.

In my opinion that you should talk with your dealer maybe that the laptop was a replacement unit?

    Hey,.

For me, the matter is clear: the battery can't hold a charge so the laptop will be shut down because it has no power.

I think you need to replace the battery with a new one and you can get a provider of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guy and ask that they can tell you how much it would cost.

  • Satellite A500D-10F stops during playback of Skyrim

    Hi guys,.

I installed it a while ago and it failed high heat at the start of the game. After a few minutes of play, the computer laptop everything stops. No error message or anything. Meanwhile, Skyrim was still running, I noticed fan of the laptop seems to be stronger and he blew off of hot air. Reduce the display resolution works on other games when that happens, but I was hoping to maximize the ability of the laptop regarding Skyrim, as much as it is lacking in high heat. In fact I don't really understand why even the older games such as neverwinter nights 2 gives me this shutdown problems when it should play with no problems at all founded.

Is that you could suggest that could avoid this... and not to mention having my play time go beyond 7-8 minutes that when running on the laptop... It would be just sad playing this game on 1020 x 768 when your screen can accommodate higher than resolutions :D

    Thank you

  • Satellite L45-S7419 - cannot get device WLAN working for XP

Hello all and ty in advance for anyone who can help.

I have a serious issue that I have not been able to understand and finally just abandoned.

My father has a Satellite L45-S7419 which has wifi 802. 11 b/g, built in at Bestbuy which came with Vista there is quite some time and I finally had the time to put XP on it (which, in itself, was a challenge) and I am unable to get drivers that work with the built-in Wifi.

In Device Manager, it shows the device with a yellow "?" and no driver installed. Unfortunately, Toshiba has no drivers for XP, but fortunately (I thought at the time) realtek had drivers for RTL8187B. Who called on the site - (RTL8187B driver auto Installer Windows (Win2K/WinXP/Vista support), Win2K/WinXP/Vista driver ver.1158 1158 20/11/2009)

I installed the drivers, but the device is not simply either recongize or it some how is not the correct drivers, because the appliance does not work.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do? I tried everything that I can with my knowledge. I tried another way to install and uninstall the device first Manager device, installed the drivers then that the "new Device Manager" jumped upward and the device of RT8187B popped up, but still get the "new hardware found" and the right afterwards "the unit works may not properly" or something similar. As if I had just install the driver itself.

Any help would be appreciated wildly. Ty!

    Hello

Have you checked if the WLAN function is? Therefore, you can use the switch of hardware on the laptop and the combination FN + F9.
    Check this box!

Can you also tell us what version of BIOS is installed on the laptop? In your case, I'd install the latest version of the BIOS. Sometimes, I could here it solves different problems WLAN. It s worth a try! ;)

I think that, in the worst cases, you must use the preinstalled operating system (Vista). There are all the drivers and tools pre-installed so I m asking you to install another OS. Now, you need to install a large number of drivers and you must spend a lot of time for that so I always prefer the preinstalled operating system.

    Welcome them
