Satellite L50 - A - 1 6 - battery empty in the 40-60 min

Hi all

I have a big problem with my L50 - A - 1-6: it has a battery and I use it as desktop (connected to my tv).
The problem is the duration: without charge and from 100%, the battery drains in about 40-60 minutes.

My laptop was bought in 02/2014 and has 2 years warranty European (with 2-year return service in Italy).

1 years ago lasted from 2:30, but it is now impossible to use.

How can I solve?
How much for a replacement? or is it under warranty?

Thank you

Hello

As far as I know the battery is covered under warranty one year from the date of purchase.
If you bought the laptop in 02/2014, then the battery is not covered by the warranty more.

However, during the use of the laptop each dough will begin to lose performance... it's just a matter... but in general the battery needs to be calibrated from time to time in order to extend the working time of battery...
In order to calibrate the battery, you should a DISCHARGE the battery it would be completely empty and then must load it again until the battery indicator would show the battery status: 'loaded'.

This procedure should be repeated two, three times in a sequence

  • Satellite L50-A-111 - 0% battery power

    Hello.

Today while playing a game my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-111 stops and when I turned it back on, I closed the game and on the desktop, I noticed that the battery was at 0%, I checked the AC and everything was connected and after one minute it off again. So after a few attempts, I noticed that the latter always follows this behavior:

    1. when I turn on it return _with HQ power on_, the battery is at 0% available (plugged in, does not support) and _it will stay 5-minutes_ and just before turns out it will change in (plugged in, load) for like 15 seconds and then turns off.

    2. at the time unaware of _it the "DC IN / battery indicator ' is white (indicates the AC adapter is connected and the)
battery is fully charged.) 5 minutes and again for 15 seconds, it will change to amber (indicates the AC adapter is plugged in and the battery is being charged) and he repeats this behavior in the cycles of 5 minutes.

3 and this is the most bizarre situation, when I turn it back _with ignore AC power, the battery is at 0% and it stays on until it's really discharge the battery (I only did once)

    What I ve try:
change management the power to never turn off the power/sleep, did not.
Uninstall "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" and install it again (did not work)

I did not remove/replace the battery because I'm afraid of messed up, and I don't really know who will solve the problem.

Do you know what the problem is or what I can do to keep after more than 5 minutes?

    Thank you in advance.

Hmmmmmm... It is not easy to say what the problem is. I don't know if this can somehow help but try to reset your machine. How do models with main battery sets, which you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

Problem is that these questions can be tested with additional drums on most of the models of laptop but unfortunately your machine has set the main battery. If the problem will always be there do not open your machine. What you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country, to explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Satellite L50-A-160 does not start after the Bios Update

Hi, first of all, this is first post.

    I have 2 satellite L50-A-160 with bios 1.1

Problem: seems to go to sleep after a few minutes, even working on them (even with both)

So, I found an updated version 1.9, downloaded and running on one of the laptops. the biosupdate tool found matching the BIOS and a race.
In the middle of flashing, he fell asleep. turned on and not start. What can I do? Recovery options? I guess the same thing will happen with the other too...

What is the problem with these computers?

Besides; very poor battery, always shows 0% available and not charging...
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Best regards
    -always in the hope.
    GT

Have you tried to change in Power Options?

See screenshot and try to change the ones I marked (it can refresh the settings, just change the values) and see if this solves the problem.

and for the other laptop with no boot, a laptop sleep by updating the bios will surely mess it.

what I don't understand is why your sleep laptop BIOS update, as far as I know the sleep settings is active then on windows (since this is controlled by windows)
He does not sleep while in the BIOS you leave 1 year, sleep settings active only after loading windows.

have you tried to check the time of processor for your laptop? Maybe its overheating causing auto-off

  • Satellite L50-B-1F6 - default bottom right of the screen

    Hello

I bought a Satellite L50-B-1F6 (Corei7, 4 GB of RAM, 1 TB, IPS FullHD screen).

The first scratches on the screen near the time of the taskbar.

So I sent the product to my retailer for an Exchange to a new.
The new product has been delivered, open to the seller, and we have no scratches.

So I return the product at home. The House, once I removed the plastic protective film that is around the screen.
I then discovered another flaw in the bottom right of the screen, was not because of the plastic wrap.

The surface of the screen and power off and causes unpleasant reflections.
My dealer doesn't want, because we controlled the entire product.
    I post pictures of defects.

Do you have also serious about finishing your Satellite, and then I get a refund or exchange of the Toshiba screen.

According to me, there is no much to do the material is affected and replacement of equipment only made a real option to fix.

If the dealer doesn t want to replace the product, contact the Toshiba authorized service provider for repair.

But I m wondering about the dealer of laptop I put t know where you bought this laptop but in my country, each product is guaranteed by a guarantee, and in case of hardware problems, the dealer is forced to solve the problem.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 - plastic cover on the unstable left

    Hello

I get my new Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 PSKTQE-00C00GGR - unfortunately I had to realize that the housing in the area of the optical drive (left) is extremely unstable, for example: when you press the left button on the touchpad is also only the laying on of hands to write.

Is the "normal" or is this a production error?

    Message has been translated

    Hello

I came here to see if anyone else has this problem
I have exactly the same computer that you (Satellite L50 - B PSKTAE-05N00QFR), but its case is a bit fragile at the screen

I think that if some different computers from Toshiba have a problem with the box, there is a link
They do economy with housing, and it is also less than before

My computer is out of warranty, so I have to find me a solution
But I hope your problem will be solved

    Good luck.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM - how to replace the memory module?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 B - 1 HM, product number: PSKTAE 072017CE. It has 8 GB of RAM but is expandable to 16 GB.

My question is, should I buy a 8 GB memory module? (and I would add up to 16 GB).
Or should I buy a 16 GB memory module to completely replace the memory of 8 GB?

Memory 8 GB Toshba module I've found is the following: P000577360

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Hello

Googling around, I found also specification for your model of laptop and if I understand it is just your machine can be upgraded up to 16 GB for you can use 2x8GB.

Compatible 8 GB of RAM for your machine has PA5104U-1M8G part number.

I n t have this model of laptop, so I put t know if there is coverage of RAM placed on the lower side of your laptop. If this isn't the case, RAM could be placed under the keyboard so RAM upgrade must be performed by the Toshiba service provider. Removal of material or to open the case of the laptop on your own is the warranty.

    Be careful about this.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 12 G - can't change the brightness of the display

    Hi people,

For some reason that I can't find out, since yesterday I can not change the brightness on my deskop.
    It's a Satelite L50 - B - 12 G with Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

(F2 and F3) function key does not move the scroll bar, and when I try the same thing on the control panel is like this:
It is not simply to change the brightness

At the same time, when I'm with an open office document or on a web page, don's work the cursor as usual... it is slower to move from one cell to another cell in Excel for example.
The sane is to arrive with the page down key.

Can anyone help on this? It becomes very annoying.

    Best regards
    Jose

How did you try to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen?
Did you press the FN key also?

Well, as you said the F2 and F3 keys increases or decreases the brightness of the display
The extra pressure of the FN button depends on the key mode feature which is located in:
    Office Assist-> tools & utilities-> Control Panel-> keyboard

Permit special mode button allows you to use special features without pressing the FN key.

That's why I recommend that you check this setting!

  • Satellite L50-A01Q - WLAN not detected after installing the Atheros WLAN driver

I have a C50-A01Q. I recently replace the hard drive for an SSD. I installed Win8.1 via a DVD downloaded from Microsoft. I also installed the Download Driver Atheros Wireless LAN from Toshiba. However, the system does not recognize the WLAN. Someone reinstall windows 8.1? How did you get the driver?

Maybe your laptop has a Realtek or Intel WLAN card inside. Specification of your laptop does not for me so I can't say with certainty what WLAN card is inside.
Try to install other drivers and check in Device Manager.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 17 c - regional character keyboard not working properly

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 17 c. After upgrading the BIOS to the latest version, some of the regional Polish characters do not work.
I'm not sure that just a rootcause is update BIOS, is also possible that other software using the same key combination.

    The keys that work well with alt together: 'e '. « o », « a », « l », « n », « s »
    Key that * does not work * with alt: 'z', 'x', 'c '.

Anyone could help with this problem?

    Thank you very much!

I've read about this problem of keyboard and it seems that this is caused by the BIOS.
Wait for the new update of the BIOS. Keep an eye on the Toshiba Service Station update messages.
Where new BIOS would be available, you should receive an update message.
