Satellite L50 - A-1 DG - memory upgrade

Hello
I have Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG with 4 GB and I have questions:
(1) I want to update. Could add 8 GB of crucial (http://www.crucial.fr/eu/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=92951A9AA5CA7304) to an existing 4?
(2) if I replace the HDD with a SSD do you know if it will be possible to connect very quickly as with a ultrabook (spec intel)?

Thanks for your help

Vince

According to the specifications of the laptop it has 4 RAM slots and can be upgraded up to 32 GB of RAM.
Rams compatible are:
4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

I advise you to buy high-quality Kingston modules and you will be safe from the 100% compatibility.

With SSD I think that there is no problem at all. I upgraded my laptop older and it works perfectly.
Which would you buy?

    Hello

As I am ready to upgrade the memory of my laptop, for the moment, my laptop has 2 x 2 GB DDR3 PC3 - 8500 1066 MHz (at least that is what the spec said). I intend to remove them and put in 2 x 4 GB, but PC3-10600 @ 1333 Mhz. * is my plan feasible or memories of 1333 Mhz are not compatible with my laptop computer motherboard? * problem is get 1066 Mhz is pretty surreal, where I live, because they are quite rare and most shops offer only of 1333 Mhz and higher.

Thanks in advance for your answers/suggestions.

    / Q

    The fact is that Satellite A500 - 1 H 1 supports the Intel Core i3 - 330 M CPU processor and the CPU supports DDR3 modules - 800 1066 Mhz RAM.
Generally, it should be possible to use faster RAM modules as 1333 MHz (DDR3-10600), but the speed will be limited to 1 066 Mhz.

  • Re: Satellite P200d-12U and 4GB memory upgrade

    Hello

I was given a Satellite P200-12U with 2 GB of friend of a friend and asked to be upgraded to 4 GB.
Have purchased and installed the memory, but noticed BIOS and still only registered WINDOWs 2GB.
    Then went into BIOS

    JASAA BIOS V1.40

and I noticed that the options are usually very limited, and that memory is indicated but not selectable.

Do I have reason to think that this machine is limited to 2 GB? And may refer the 4 GB to the shop?

    Hello

    I own a Toshiba Satellite A500 - 1 H 4, and I would like to improve my memory of 4 & 2 GB 4 & 4 installation.
Given the complexity of the subject, I need some information:

-What are the detailed specifications? Memory of 1066 or 1333 MHz? Should have 200 or 204 pins?
-do I replace both of the chips or one would suffice?

    Grateful for answers.

    Also, sorry for my English.

    Hello

AFAIK the upgrade of RAM is mentioned in the user manual.
Have you checked this in the past?

    The laptop runs of DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500) DDR3-SO-DIMM (204 PIN)
    memory modules.
You can upgrade the RAM to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) because the Intel HM55 supports 8 GB of RAM.

I recommend using two exactly the same modules to avoid some compatibility problems.

  • Satellite P100-219: overheating after memory upgrade

    Hello guys,.

I've recently upgraded to 4 GB RAM in my laptop, and he did it again.
Computer laptop stops immediately after awhile. CPU or GPU gets really hot. Works fan CPU, GPU was not used intensely. Simple web browsing/cat/emailing.

What becomes hot however is part to the left of the memory/wlan compartment. Is it possible that a chipset gets hot after just upgrade memory?
I tested the memory with Memtest + for more than 3 hours. No errors.

Moreover, the last time that my phone was in ASP it had returned with DMI saying it's Satellite L20! I dunno if that could be related...

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
    mentorek

You have blown the dust anyway? As you say, maybe another component is overheating rather than the CPU or GPU. The CPU/GPU heatsink can be shared with other chips.

Have you installed RAM high performance? His best choose RAM that has the same Timings CASE/RAS as the original factory of RAM.

The name DMI does not cause something like this.

PS. If you're running Vista, you must pass the BIOS and driver nVidia on the Toshiba site

  • Satellite L40-143 (PSL40E-04E00LGR) - memory upgrade

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop: Satellite L40 - 143 Modell Nr.: PSL40E-04E00LGR

I can find my phone on the support site and the following information for the memory (which is consistent with the information I have):

    Standard: 1,024 (512 + 512) MB
    Max Erweiterbarkeit: 2.048 MB
    Technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

I understand I can go to a maximum of 2 GB. I have two questions:

    1. question:
By clicking on: 'Zubehör' I get the suggestion to buy the next memory:

    1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3411U-2M1G
    512 MB memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3412S - 2M 51

It is however 533 MhZ DDR2 PC4300, in my manual and on the technical page details it says PC 5300 at 667 MHZ, well? What is the good memory to buy?

    2. question:
I now have 512 + 512 MB in the notebook. Can I buy a single module 2 GB instead of the two modules of 1 GB?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

In your case, I would like to buy RAM with the specifications of the user manual. In the worst cases it runs only on 533 MHz but I tried a little with Google and it seems that the laptop is using 667 MHz modules.
Moreover, I can recommend high-quality Kingston memory.

Regarding your last question, you can only buy two 1 GB modules. It is the maximum capacity for each RAM module.

According to specification for laptop, that your computer can be upgraded up to 32 GB of RAM.

  • Upgrade memory on Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1NL

Yesterday, I bought the Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1NL of argos. It came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade to 8 GB. Does anyone can help with the upgrade process. Will also be empty RAM level warranty.

    Concerning
    SD

I m not L50 - B owner but I guess that there is no separate access to the modules of memory at the bottom of the unit.
    Right?

In this case its necessary to remove the plastic cover of the bottom and this will definitely void the warranty!

If you want to keep the warranty valid, don t update the RAM yourself.
This must be done by an authorized technician.

    Hello

I want to improve my new laptop to use 8 GB to 4 GB. The site of the main product specification provides all the information, I need to know if I should order DIMM or SODIMM memory modules?

Also, is it possible for a client to easily make this themselvess by removing the panels without having to take the thing completely detached?

    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/laptops/satellite/l50-b/satellite-l50-b-1DZ/

    standard: 4 096 (1 x) MB, RAM DDR3L (1 333 MHz)
    maximum extension: 8 192 MB
    technology: DDR3L (1 333 MHz) RAM

Appropriate advice or technical manual covering this would be great.
The on their site are too "basic" user guides

    Kind regards

    Peter B, UK

Well, the procedure for the RAM upgrade is a bit tricky. There is no RAM module Bay separated with easy access.

To access the free RAM slot, the plastic cover of the bottom must be removed.
You need to remove the ODD (optical disc) as well as the battery and next by the screws around the cover.

But remove the cover would mean that you would negate the warranty.

I put t know if you want to lose the warranty, I think that security is a very important fact which should be considered before performing this upgrade procedure.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM - how to replace the memory module?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 B - 1 HM, product number: PSKTAE 072017CE. It has 8 GB of RAM but is expandable to 16 GB.

My question is, should I buy a 8 GB memory module? (and I would add up to 16 GB).
Or should I buy a 16 GB memory module to completely replace the memory of 8 GB?

Memory 8 GB Toshba module I've found is the following: P000577360

    Hello

Googling around, I found also specification for your model of laptop and if I understand it is just your machine can be upgraded up to 16 GB for you can use 2x8GB.

Compatible 8 GB of RAM for your machine has PA5104U-1M8G part number.

I n t have this model of laptop, so I put t know if there is coverage of RAM placed on the lower side of your laptop. If this isn't the case, RAM could be placed under the keyboard so RAM upgrade must be performed by the Toshiba service provider. Removal of material or to open the case of the laptop on your own is the warranty.

    Be careful about this.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q - problems after upgrade to 8.1 windows

    Hi all

    I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q.

I decided to update my laptop to Windows 8.1 Win8, unfortunately, it was really bad decision.
After that my computer is very slow. It takes forever to push the power button to be ready to use browser. Even Chrome does not work correctly. Before the update, my computer was big, fast and stable.

Is there anyone who had simillar problem? Is it possible to go back to Windows 8 without destroying my C: drive?
Maybe I should install something more?
    All drivers or another update?

I just install Win 8.1 update and nvidia drivers graphics.

    Hello

To be honest, I put t understand the decision to return to Win 8.
Win 8 contained many bugs that have been fixed with Win 8.1

Two days ago, I upgraded my new Satellite M50 - A Win Win 8 to 8.1.
It took some time but finally win 8.1 run on my laptop and its great!

First of all, you must update the 8 8.1 Win win recommendation of Toshiba:
    Details:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
All Toshiba drivers, utility tools must be updated!

With regard to the starting time:
You know the hybrid mode? Default (Win 8) did not stop you probably know other systems like Win 7 offshore. The 8 winning performed the closed hybrid that allows you to boot up the laptop faster. But this has been closed not real mode.

Here is a good description how toggle this mode:

  • Satellite L50 - B - 2 5 - upgrade of guaranteed RAM VS

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite L50 - B - 2 5 and Im wondering if I lose the warranty if I upgrade the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. I have a 4 GB RAM module and I want to insert myself, but I am afraid of losing the warranty if I open the case.

    Thanks for your help.

Way General upgrade RAM will not void the warranty but your L50 - B has a specific design and it is not distinct from the cover of RAM in the lower corner. So you do not have access to the RAM slots. In your case the whole bottom cover must be removed, and you should not do this.

My advice to you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
