Satellite L500-1N1 - said Tempro - warranty Services waiting for registration

Hello

I bought the laptop (Satellite L500-1N1) 2 days in Israel (a store named "Bug"). I'm registered there (or so it seems) on this site and also confidence-Toshiba site ('any guarantee').

But when I try to see the warranty Toshiba TEMPRO, it says that warranty Services expects record, which is strange because I registered it.
When I click on "Update" nothing happens. When I click on register - and I try to save (in fact register again) - I get an error that it is already is registered...

How can I fix it?
You will appreciate any help...

Neer

Hello

You should not check the status of the Tempro tool warranty, but you should check the status on the page of European warranty Toshiba
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

You will find this Portal:
http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/vpoWarrantyRegHome.do

Check the option called:
+ Check or change your registration information.

I think that there, you will find all the details on your registration

  • Satellite L500-128 - where can I get drivers for Windows 7?

    Hello

Recently, I bought Satellite L500 with Windows Vista. I hope that make Windows 7 drivers Toshiba soon so I can install Windows 7 Professional on my laptop. Why does take so long?

Pilots would come I have a few weeks or should you wait until next year?

    Great, from the Netherlands!

    Hi Dennis,

First of all I'm pretty sure that Toshiba will come out Windows 7 for this model because I created this: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/KBA9A02PX0000R01.htm

I think that nobody can't say how long it takes until that Toshiba will get the drivers for this model now, but I can understand that not all drivers can be released in one or two days. I guess that Toshiba test riders before they download them and it takes a bit but I noticed that every day more and more drivers for Windows 7 will be available to check the Toshiba page from time to time.

About Windows 7 drivers on the page United States it of really nice to read that you founded another model with the same specifications then I guess that readers should also work on your model. I m waiting for a feedback on your part because I m thinking purchase Satellite L500 for Windows 7 too so it would be very nice to read your experience with the drivers here. :)

For me, are necessary for the driver to L500-1. On a site not found. If it is a good idea to use the driver other model of what to write.

To me, the driver under Windows XP, Windows 7.

    Hello

I searched a bit on the Toshiba site and it seems that your model is part of the PSLJTE series and as a result, you can download all the drivers for XP and Windows 7 here:

  • Satellite L500 damaged ports usb - warranty repair?

Two usb ports on my laptop L500 physically broken.
The central piece of plastic inside usb ports themselves are separated and are now not working not.,.

Don't you think that Toshibe will repair under warranty it is only 11 months old, or they will insist it's against accidental damage and refuse to correct.

    Thank you

    Hello

I doubt that the warranty does not cover damage
Plastic cover of USB port can not damage without the use of any force...
I think that the ASP from Toshiba technician could replace it and solve this problem, but you have to pay for this service. Unfortunately :(

But it's an opinion personal mu ask the technician to the ASP for more details

    Good luck

  • Satellite L500-1XD - impossible to find an update for PC monitor

This TBS advises updates PC health monitor and alert HDD/SDD.

HDD/SDD alert has a published in the relevant downloads section updated, but I can't find an update for PC monitor.

    Anyone have any bright ideas?

Otherwise, this seems quite a balanced system.

    > HDD/SDD alert is an update published in the relevant downloads section, but I can't find an update for PC monitor

If you could not find it on the page of the driver, it means is not yet available. I don't know why you were asked to update it but if PC health monitor works well don't need to update. I don't think that you will find something more in the new version :)

  • Satellite L500-203 (model No. PSLJ0E) did not recognize on the support site

Satellite L500-203 (model No. PSLJ0E) not recognized in all cases: by serial No., or automatically by selecting the option (product, series, model), so I can t he s pilots by TEMPRO or a Service Station, but update manually only.
Would you please add it to your database!

    Hello

The Satellite L500 PSLJ0E is a series of European for Toshiba laptop.
I found the drivers for this series on the European driver Toshiba page
I put t know why Tempro or a Service Station can not find it, but I could find it.
The number of PSLJ0E is the first number in the list.

To be honest; I did not upgrade to update all drivers if everything works properly.
I'm always that notice; never change a running system. and guess what? This is the best advice I've ever heard... ;)

  • Satellite L500-126-CD/DVD drive does not open very well unrolled

    Hello

I just got my second Satellite L500-126.
I traded my first for a new because the ESCAPE key got stuck sometimes and made a grinding sound.

Now, with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very well unrolled and 2 bars of silver metal bit come out with the car when I open it.
    Is this normal?

Also, when I close the dvd player, I hear a little noise "ping!"
Like a spring, or something. Is that also normal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 2 small bars of silver, but the reader of my laptop s contains two metals (runners, railway).
This is normal and these pieces are important to ensure that the drive can eject properly and could remain in a good position.
Still, you will hear a short click Open and close the drive.

    So I guess it's ok.

  • Toshiba Service Station has stopped working - Satellite L500 PSLS0A

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 PSLS0A-019002 with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed that I received as a gift from two months ago.

Apart from some do not like the weird and useless (to me) Windows Vista / 7 functions, the Office I get the error message "Toshiba Service Station has stopped working" who proceeds to find a solution, but apparently never find one because this situation repeats itself whenever I start.

On another thread in the forums of Toshiba, someone suggested to download the independent utility called Toshiba Service Station and put it back. I see no such utility listed on the page of downloads for my Toshiba model. Because I don't know what the Toshiba Service Station did (unless it goes by another name - Toshiba Bulletin Board perhaps?), I don't know what causes the error or how to fix.

Does anyone have a more accurate solution?

As the user above has said, you can remove it. It is not important utility and does not have a big problem in your system.

  • Satellite L500-1DT - HDD the smart predict service failures

    Hello

I have a Satellite L500-1DT and the last days he started to say "your HARD drive has the smart predict function failures"-is that what I did for her or is it a problem to manufacturers? I only got two months.

Anyone know if I can fix it myself?
I have just in Spain and I'm here for the next two months.

    I'm useless with technology...

    Any help would be good.

    Thank you!!

    Kate

Please don't fix anything alone. New notebook has warranty valid so if something goes wrong the affected parts must be replaced and warranty will cover all costs.

Visit THIS page and read what means SMART.
In other words, your HARD disk goes wrong so please back up all your important data and contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

I don't know where you live in Spain, but to find the nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer visit the Toshiba support page under
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP contact them as soon as possible.

    Good luck!

  • Re: Satellite L500 - cut wire screen

Please help, when I closed my laptop Satellite L500 I smelled electrical, reopened and the screen is black.

I took it to a mechanic and he told me that he thinks that the cable/cord that connects the screen to the keyboard has stopped running through the hinges. He actually told me that he had the same problem on the same model specifications 2 weeks earlier.

He said that without opening upward and looking (which cost $250 immediately!) he couldn't be sure. My warranty missed 6 months ago. Any ideas?

    > Any ideas?
Is that there is hardware problem and should be checked. I know it's expensive, but you can try to contact other services and see if they can do the same job for less money.

You can now use your laptop?

  • Bluetooth for Satellite L500 installation failure

    Greetings,

I just bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite L500 yesterday. Everything is going well except fo the bluetooth. When activate using the FN key, Vista automatic configuration will automatically launch and the installation bar moves slightly and "new device inserted" sounds and then "deleted device" appears shortly after and then displays is interrupted, I waited a long time but nothing seems to happen, when I click on cancel, he invites me that the installer is still ongoing while he is not.

I take my camera to service center or is there something I can do to fix this?

    Appreciate your kind help.

    Thank you

    Best regards, Adel Kooheji
    Bahrain

    > I take my camera to service center or is there something I can do to fix this?
I don t think you should contact the service center at this time
I mean the guy will try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba Recovery disk and I think you can do that too without the help of the service people.
So if you want, try recovery of the operating system and check if you BT would begin again.

PS: your should create the recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool!

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in an endless loop

It's a so detailed bug report please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm that you have had the same thing happen to you, I will be grateful.

I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I've even worked for Toshiba so worry, I like the machine. But I have a problem with his recovery software. I just bought a laptop Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I have to sometimes panic calls from field in the sense of "it became too slow", "How do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe he had a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was ASR, which is how to bring the HD to "like new" condition.

So I started out in the machine, replied to the questions until I got in the appropriate operating system, then led the program "make a recovery DVD. Double layer DVD checked ok. With the freshly made DVDs, I swapped the HD for a spare part, I had (much less: only 40 GB instead of 320) and started the rescue DVD hoping it would fix my own system to the blank disc.

He did repartition the drive according to its schema, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for the data, including the recovery files. He did install the system in the Windows partition. It was then restarted in Windows 7 installed in order to complete the installation. There, the trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until what I stopped it.

    Loop:
    * reset
    * black screen with bright logo 4 color windows «windows startup»
    * black screen with slight blade and "Setup prepares your computer for first use.
    * blue white screen "Welcome" with "please wait" and the crossbar with green blob, saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer! »
    * blue screen saying it stops

    Repeat the above forever.

I saw him restart way more than 10 times over several hours. And whenever he's faking, that this is the first time she did it. Of course, this is not normal!

I tried to stop with ctrl-alt-del and the Task Manager, but the white screen would go even the Task Manager, making it difficult to kill any process or even inspect what they were on top. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it shuts. Then when it restarts it said that if I wanted safe mode. I tried. He went into the routine above and at one point he says that he could not proceed with the installation, if it was in safe mode. So he restarted in normal mode and then...! It is finally out of the endless loop!

Then he asked me all the usual language, record etc., questions as he did the first time I had turned on him. This seemed good. Finally, I walked into a newly installed operating system and everything seemed fine, except that I found out later that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even Redid the procedure hard disk provided instead of my rescue: first I have nuked the windows partition, then I save the HD (with F8), not with the DVD that I had done. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboot.

After that I stopped it, it kind-of-worked, as above, but now some programs were lacking, such as the Toshiba DVD drive.

(*) motivated by: better try now with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, that when the computer died at home of its owner, and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a line call. Been there before.

Now, that specific (DVD player), that I could download it from the support page and it installed fine. But what else might be missing or not working not that I have not noticed? The restore process is clearly not working as it should.

I'm the first or only to whom it happens? I'm doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should try?

I need to make sure that the restore procedure works perfectly while I still have the computer in my hands. If not, there is no chance that I'll be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie, once I asks me to clean the laptop by phone a few months from now.

    Thanks in advance

[Update: just looking for the right place where I could post what I found that other people report the same problem.] This is definitely a bug in the software distributed for W7 - 64 overlay, not a problem isolated to my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&TSTART=0 where the user kwarc described the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that I could recover my trouble free unit.
The installation of Win 7 went well and everything has been installed correctly.

    Back to you:
To me it looks like something wrong with installation maybe some HARD drive partitions were confues perhaps, HARD drive should again formatted, and then run the recovery procedure.
    You should test

    Regarding the DVD player:
As much as I know there is no DVD player for Win 7 64 bit. There are only available for Win 64 bit updated. If you need to install the DVD player for Win 7 32 bit version and then update using the patch released for Win7 64 bit.
