Satellite L500 - reset color calibration

HI -.

I've only had my L500 Satellite during the week. I have a problem with the images on the laptop with a blue cast. I calibrated color and get perfect only so he can reset when the computer is turned off and restarted. Tried several times without success.

Can anyone help?

Hey,.

Can you tell me where you have changed the colors exactly, please?

Normally, you can change the colors in the options of the display driver. After that, you will need to save the new settings and save them as new profile.

  • Satellite L500 - reset to factory default with 64 bit OS

    Hi all...

    First excuse my bad English...

I have the Satellite L500 with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), and I want to back without the factory, as how I bought it first.

I know that this method: you have 0 just by turning on the laptop computer, you receive the warning, and then you choose (out of the box)... etc.

But if I do this method yet will I receive 64-bit or 32-bit?

    Thanks in advance :)

    > I know this method: you have 0 just by turning on the laptop computer, you receive the warning, and then you choose (out of the box)... etc.

This is not the method for laptops Toshiba bought in Europe.
You power the unit and press F8
Then choose fix my computer, then choose disk HARD recovery.

It is the same for 32-bit and 64-bit

  • Satellite L500 - flicker and black screen turns green

Toshiba Satellite L500-screen color problem; White and black green turn turn pink. When the laptop is turned on after a while, the screen back to normal, but just for a second. Then he turns his back to the Green and Pink for black and white color again. The display also flashes.

    Anyone, please help me.

    Hello

Theoretically the two parties may be affected: Notebok display or graphic card itself.

Way simpler to check that connects to an external monitor. If the external monitor is ok, the graphics card is affected. Otherwise, the screen of the laptop must be exchanged.

Is your laptop still under warranty?

  • Satellite L500-1V1 resets WLan router every 10 min

    Hello.

I bought a new laptop from Toshiba (Satellite L500-1V1) a few weeks ago, and lately I have had these random disconnects Internet. I can't really remember if I had this problem in the first few days since I've especially done stuff offline, but I know that they came very early while surfing. I'm using a wireless connection.

Strange things, is that my PC seems to reset the router from time to time. At home, Im the only one using the internet, but when I'm with friends, their internet also seems to go away. So yes, my PC is causing each router it connects to move randomly every 5 minutes - 1 hour. Ill just say it once more, my mess from the PC to the top all other routers as well and not just mine.

Just in case where, ill add some info on the symptom. I sometimes play World of Warcraft and when I do, this question is more annoying. The enemies of the world will be frozen suddenly nothing doing, my character stops attack and no work spells or abilities. However, I can still run around, so I don't really disconnected first. After 10 seconds, I get disconnected, or I'll get a time of very high latency/MS.

I had no problem on this issue with my previous PC, but like all the others, my old PC decided to randomly disconnect the power cable. To be honest, I don't know what is worse... Cup feeding or disconnect from the internet. But the two things blows, that's for sure.

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I tried to update the WLAN driver, I tried to configure my router to a different channel (I don't know if I can put my wireless PC on another channel, but if that is the case, its not tested yet) and I also tried a cable connection just to know exactly whats going on. The connection of the cable has been stable for 6 hours, while the wireless can last barely half. I scanned my PC with AVIRA antivirus, but nothing was found.

I'd really like to fix this without turning in my PC for weeks to repair, which is not the purpose of this purchade. Any suggestions?

To be honest I ve ever heard this laptop can force the router to reboot. I use the connectivity wireless at home too and during the last 7 years have changed many laptops but have never noticed anything like that. OK all of us from time to time of WLAN connectivity issues, but especially after the reboot of the router or to change some settings, everything is fine and it works well again.

Your question is really unique and I think it should be tested by the service guy.
What you did is right and I really don t know what else you can try except to the test it again with factory settings (OS install with the original Toshiba recovery image).

Is a background application may be responsible for this? Maybe something is blocking the WLAn data transfer? Is that what you have installed Zonealarm?

Anyway, I can imagine a WLAN of application blocks connectivity but this problem with restarting the router is really strange.

  • Satellite L500-126 - vertical lines on the Green/gray color dark

    Hello

I have a problem with my new toshiba satellite L500-126. With certain colors, like green, dark gray, I see vertical lines on the screen, only the part of the screen were the color is.

For example, on this screenshot I made. I see vertical lines inside the chatbox. There you can see the chattext. I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines. Am I a bad screen? Or is this normal on this model?

    Hoping for an answer,

    > I looked at this picture with another monitor. But I don't see the vertical lines.
In my opinion, the case is clear: there is something wrong with the internal monitor to the laptop and it must be replaced.
    What do you think?

I mean that if it would be a software problem then you would have the same lines.

I guess that your laptop is still under warranty because the Satellite L500 is fairly new. Contact an authorized service provider and ask for help. Normally, you should get a new free exhibition. :)

  • Strange colors on Satellite L500-1GG

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 1YU with gorgeous video card and colours - natural. We bought a new netbook - Toshiba Satellite L500-1GG, which has strange colors and I try to change thanks to Intel Driver for Mobile on the control panel and yet they are not the same naturalists as the old mobile computer. We're supposed to new versions have better technical characteristics.

How might solve the problem with the colors, brightness and contrast, so photos, web pages and videos will look like normal and naturally colored?

    Hello

I doubt that there is something wrong with the colors of the display.
I think you used a different type of display in the past and so the colors are unusual.

The L500 was fitted with a CSV HD 200 15.6.
The A200 supports a LCD with screen 15,4 "WIDE XGA CSV

I think that it s is the internal screen and it s not question the display settings

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in an endless loop

It's a so detailed bug report please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm that you have had the same thing happen to you, I will be grateful.

I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I've even worked for Toshiba so worry, I like the machine. But I have a problem with his recovery software. I just bought a laptop Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I have to sometimes panic calls from field in the sense of "it became too slow", "How do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe he had a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was ASR, which is how to bring the HD to "like new" condition.

So I started out in the machine, replied to the questions until I got in the appropriate operating system, then led the program "make a recovery DVD. Double layer DVD checked ok. With the freshly made DVDs, I swapped the HD for a spare part, I had (much less: only 40 GB instead of 320) and started the rescue DVD hoping it would fix my own system to the blank disc.

He did repartition the drive according to its schema, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for the data, including the recovery files. He did install the system in the Windows partition. It was then restarted in Windows 7 installed in order to complete the installation. There, the trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until what I stopped it.

    Loop:
    * reset
    * black screen with bright logo 4 color windows «windows startup»
    * black screen with slight blade and "Setup prepares your computer for first use.
    * blue white screen "Welcome" with "please wait" and the crossbar with green blob, saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer! »
    * blue screen saying it stops

    Repeat the above forever.

I saw him restart way more than 10 times over several hours. And whenever he's faking, that this is the first time she did it. Of course, this is not normal!

I tried to stop with ctrl-alt-del and the Task Manager, but the white screen would go even the Task Manager, making it difficult to kill any process or even inspect what they were on top. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it shuts. Then when it restarts it said that if I wanted safe mode. I tried. He went into the routine above and at one point he says that he could not proceed with the installation, if it was in safe mode. So he restarted in normal mode and then...! It is finally out of the endless loop!

Then he asked me all the usual language, record etc., questions as he did the first time I had turned on him. This seemed good. Finally, I walked into a newly installed operating system and everything seemed fine, except that I found out later that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even Redid the procedure hard disk provided instead of my rescue: first I have nuked the windows partition, then I save the HD (with F8), not with the DVD that I had done. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboot.

After that I stopped it, it kind-of-worked, as above, but now some programs were lacking, such as the Toshiba DVD drive.

(*) motivated by: better try now with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, that when the computer died at home of its owner, and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a line call. Been there before.

Now, that specific (DVD player), that I could download it from the support page and it installed fine. But what else might be missing or not working not that I have not noticed? The restore process is clearly not working as it should.

I'm the first or only to whom it happens? I'm doing something wrong? Is there anything else I should try?

I need to make sure that the restore procedure works perfectly while I still have the computer in my hands. If not, there is no chance that I'll be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie, once I asks me to clean the laptop by phone a few months from now.

    Thanks in advance

[Update: just looking for the right place where I could post what I found that other people report the same problem.] This is definitely a bug in the software distributed for W7 - 64 overlay, not a problem isolated to my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&TSTART=0 where the user kwarc described the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

    Hello

First of all, I must say that I could recover my trouble free unit.
The installation of Win 7 went well and everything has been installed correctly.

    Back to you:
To me it looks like something wrong with installation maybe some HARD drive partitions were confues perhaps, HARD drive should again formatted, and then run the recovery procedure.
    You should test

    Regarding the DVD player:
As much as I know there is no DVD player for Win 7 64 bit. There are only available for Win 64 bit updated. If you need to install the DVD player for Win 7 32 bit version and then update using the patch released for Win7 64 bit.

  • Satellite L755-1HW - colors look unnatural on screen

I recently bought Toshiba Satellite L755 and I am generally happy with it. It is an improvement in my Toshiba Satellite L300.

However, I have a problem with the way it displays colors. At first glance, everything looks ok, but some colors still don't look right.

For example, gold on my old Toshiba looks like "gold"; on the new this is a kind of yellowish and usually yellow seems to dominate in certain ways and Red is often not really red. On the other hand, the old Toshiba seems to have a better image. better contrast and well saturated colors more natural without any problem as indicated above.

The colors on the new look of display as they have been filtered and have some sort of tint of a color not identified. I compared a number of photos on two laptops and the difference is consistent.

My L300 works on default settings; the only thing I adjusted is brightness. I tried to adjust the settings on my L755; brightness, contrast, gamma, hue, saturation, but without any improvement.

I did color calibration and when I get to the 'shades of gray' they seem to like everything else in this test and yet something is wrong. I would be grateful of any advice and I hope that this is not just a display of poor quality.

I can't connect the laptop to a different view, but I can paste get if necessary.

I guess you have reset default display color settings and you have reinstalled the display driver and you still can't have a good screen.

I use this free of color calibration software and it works great, it is important to adjust your brightness to a reasonably light level before starting the software.

Also do some profiles under different lighting conditions, I found if I've calibrated under the light of the day come nigh-time under artificial lights up my screen looked yellow, so I calibrated my monitor overnight and it looks great day and night now.

  • Satellite L500 connection ok but no Internet after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello
I just upgraded my Satellite L500 to Windows 7 everything is fine except that I have no internet access. I have a strong connection to my wireless home network and can connect to other wireless devices to the network ok. I also tried to connect using cable, but I have the same problem - connected but no internet access.

I ran ConfigFree utility and it does not find a problem. I ran the troubleshooter in Windows and it is unable to solve the problem but tells me that the wireless network doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

I have reset the modem and the router, without effect.

I checked all the drivers and BIOS are the latest versions.

I tried to enter an IP address manually rather than get an automatically. Still no luck.

Any ideas I can try? I hope someone can help.
    Thank you.

    Hello

For me it sounds like that the problem is the router, and not the laptop because you wrote that with cable connected even happens on WLAN connection.

If you go into the menu of the router, what is the status of the internet connection? Your router has a connection or not?

  • Satellite L500: WARNING: problem with cooling system message

    Dear Toshiba

Some may perhaps explain to me how that happens.

We have 2 x L500 computers laptops, one was bought and activated a day of July 2010 (Computer1)
The other was purchased 1 day later the same store and activated the same day - 1 day later (machine 2)

Yesterday machine 1 responded with the warning message, there is a problem with the cooling system - please turn the machine off and return it for service.

Machine 2 responded today with the exact same message, just after turning on after 4 hours OFF... an unusual situation say you or are - this sort of built in: service to generate the functionality?
I'm not convinced it's a stroke of luck and there is nothing wrong with a machine that I could see.

Anyway to reset every machine has solved the problem, see how long it takes to return.
As you may have guessed, two machines are out of warranty by a few months now.

If any of you have a similar problem, would be happy to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Ernie

    Hello

One of my friends had the Satellite L500. As far as I know the laptop works pretty well.

I do not know if this message was created because of a software problem, but the laptop should automatically stops down if the cooling modules would not work properly and the temperature would goes up to a higher level of m

So I recommend watching the temp for the next time level and of course, you could get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country if notice plu temp or a hardware problem with the module cooling

  • Satellite L500-1WP - higher screen resolution than HD?

    Nice day!

I use Toshiba Satellite L500-1WP. I bought a new monitor Dell U2711 with max resolution 2560 x 1440. I tried to connect this monitor to my computer using a HDMI cable, the video card identifies the monitor as a HDTV and made max resolution 1920 x 1080 possible.

Is it possible to do these 2 works as well as the resolution, I need (2560 x 1440), or I have to buy a new computer with DVI-d port?

    Hey Buddy,

You should check the user manual here, I founded an information that the computer can display up to 2048 horizontal and 1536 vertical pixels at up to 16 million colors.

So for me, it looks like you can use the native screen resolution of your external display t but normally 1080 p should be pretty good. :)

  • Satellite L500-1U7 - how do I clear CMOS?

    Hello everyone!
I have a problem with a laptop Toshiba Satellite L500-1U7.
He was blocking down by himself for a reason, and started after the reinstalling with W7 clean blue screens content poping up.

I wanted to test the memory and HARD drive with software and pulled out one of the two memory cards.
After this computer does not pass the POST and I get only black screen.

I wanted to erase the BIOS but I can't find the battery.
And I can not find some repair manuals to find the battery or find a way to reset the BIOS.
    Where the CLEAR BIOS jumper?

Can anyone help in any way, perhaps with a similar experience?

    Thank you!

Yes, the battery is soldered on this laptop, but on some other laptop models the battery CMOS can be removed. But not on this series.
But even if the battery is removable, it wouldn't erase the EPROM settings!

I guess that your motherboard is faulty since the power on self test cannot be passed correctly.

  • Satellite L500 - white screen. No attempt to start until the key.

It is a Satellite L500, which was submitted to a process of recovery. The battery is as flat as possible and does not load.

Turn on the laptop and the normal BIOS information is displayed with the option to press F2 or F12 at the bottom of the screen. The BIOS is configured to boot from the HARD drive first.

Left to do his own thing, the screen turns off and nothing happens. A press any and there is no prompt text to touch anything, and the system begins to boot from the HARD drive. She proceeds to start successfully and the laptop runs normally (bar the old battery).

I have reset the default BIOS and there is nothing, I see that it would otherwise cause.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Maybe it sounds silly now, but it is not easy to understand exactly what is happening.
    > Left to do his own thing, the screen turns off and nothing happens.
All this occur after the installation of image recovery and first start after the installation of recovery successfully? Or pre-installed OS is already configured and ready for first start?
    >.. and the system begins to boot from the HARD drive
You see nothing n the screen when this happens?
    > he proceeds to start successfully and the laptop runs normally (bar the old battery).
After reading this sentence I presume boots OS OK and you can use your laptop. Can you confirm this?

When you restart the operating system the same occurs again and again?

Have you tried to reinstall the recovery still image?

  • Satellite L500 - video card do not calibrate

Hello, I have a portable Satellite L500, who now works on Windows 7
My problem is that the screen is not calibrate.

My screen has a thick black line on the right and a little on top.
The bottom bar is hidden on the screen and I can't get the black areas with the mouse.

I tried to update the drivers, the resolution setting, reset the video card settings, but nothing helped.

    Any ideas?

    Stand by.
I assume that you have installed the Win7 clean version, right?
After the installation of clean operating system, you should be able to see all of the office without a few black lines. According to my Win7 experience has no problem with graphics cards and especially the native resolution is set by default.
What you need to do is to install the right chipset driver, driver SATA and, of course, display driver available on the Toshiba download page.

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have exactly (L500-xxx)?
