Sorry Anne but your ad is totally confusing to me. Description of the problem is one sentence without end and I can not find that a few clear, which means it.

Are you just confused with LEDs or there is another problem?
Maybe better description of the problem will help us to a better understanding.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L500D-163 (with card wireless 802.11 b/g/n)
Router: Pirelli Discus (having support 802.11 b/g).

    Hello

I bought a portable Toshiba, Satellite L500D-163, two days ago.

Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 10.04, the Wireless does not work. It shows all the available wireless network neighborhood, including mine, but it connects to my network.

I also have an Acer laptop that connects to my network wireless without problem.

I placed the Toshiba laptop side by side with my Acer laptop and tried all the options:
    802 11b, 802.11 g - WEP, WPA, WPA2
with simple passwords of the style: "00000000".

and SSID wireless to the router changed something as simple as "abcde".
Computer Acer laptop connected without problem in all cases, but Toshiba didn't connect.

In Windows 7, the connection information appears as connected but 'Limited' and the software Toshiba says that the laptop is not getting an IP address.

I manually entered the IP address (192.168.1.2), subnet mask (255.255.255.0) and the default gateway (192.168.1.1 router =) below the configuration in Windows 7 wireless card, but it did not work.

The laptop must support Toshiba, or y at - it an incompatibility with my router?

    Thank you.

    Great! Thanks for that!

  • Satellite P200-1JR doesn't do nothing - all the lights are off

My toshiba Satellite P200-1jr someday is dead and it is like new.
All the lights are off with battery or without or with only of food.

Please help me. I don't know what to do.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Don t think someone could help here in your case.
No lights (power led, led battery nor ac DC plug-in led) means there could be a problem of serious material maybe the motherboard is missing.

If the AC adapter is defective, then the laptop must always turn on using battery power ok, this is not possible if the battery would be too empty.

So usually a technician first test adapter and should try to plug an AC adapter right in order to test this.

But to me it looks like something wrong with a motherboard :(
Of course, this is only my personal opinion...

  • Satellite L500D - screen off sometimes

I bought this Satellite L500D several months and sometimes the screen goes black. It tends to occur when the charger is not plugged, but the battery is charged to 100%. "Indicators of the system" (the lights that are on when the laptop is turned on) are light and therefore the NumLock key, but whatever the button I push, the screen does light up not until I turn it on then the power button.

Apart from that, sometimes when I need to recharge the battery, I plug in the adapter but the laptop will continue to emit a beep or will pop up to say that it is connected but does not support messages. She will also be taken 30 seconds to recharge.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you

    Hi nic256,

Can you please tell us what operating system do you use?

If you use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba, I think that s a hardware problem and you need help from an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and fix what needs to be covered by the warranty on this new laptop.

    OS: Windows 7 32-bit

    Hello

You see something on a screen? So you can check if the internal monitor works properly or not.

    If not try this:
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Now wait at least one hour or overnight and then install the battery pack and plug in the AC adapter. Before you turn it on, make sure the battery is fully charged and try to boot up your laptop.

If you have connected to external devices such as mouse, keyboard, printer, etc. remove them until you turn it on.

  • How can I access the recovery on my Satellite L500D-00F partition?

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D-00F delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium and my OS is not working properly so I need to boot from the recovery partition, but I can't find a way to do...

    =============
    FULL ARTICLE: P
    =============

The first startup launched the hidden restore partition and I followed the procedure to install the OS of the computer.

At one point he asked me if I wanted to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7, so I choose the default option (32 bit) because I couldn't find anywhere in the specifications of L500D of the merchant that is was a 64-bit processor.

After the installation of the computer, it started Windows 7 properly and I could hear the startup sound, see my office for a second and the screen went black, nothing worked at all and I discovered that my computer was actually a unit of 64-bit, so that is probably why the video driver does not work properly, I guess. Whenever I start my laptop, I see my desktop for a second then it goes black and crashes like this.

    ====================
    END OF THE STORY: P
    ====================

In any case... I want to restart this recovery partition and reinstall my operating system using the 64-bit version.

How can I boot from the recovery partition on my L500D-00F... AND PLEASE don't tell me to hit F8 during the startup, I already tried this and NO I don't have a "Repair" option The first is 'Safe mode' and there is no option 'Fix' or 'retrieve '.

Also, in Windows Disk Manager (that I can use in some way when I boot in safe mode) I see two hidden partitions, a 10 GB and a 1.5 GB, so I KNOW they are there, I did not delete them and they should be intact.

Any help is appreciated, but don't tell me to hit F8 when starting, this has already been tried: P

    Thanks for the comments.
On this forum, that we have already talked about this and of course access to the data recovery is not the same for all models of laptop. F8 method is for example for models Europeans and several people from the Australia or even Canada reported on the use of the 0 button.

In any case, I'm happy to know that everything is going well.

    Good bye

  • Installation of recovery image on Satellite L500D

Am trying to re - install windows 7 on Satellite L500D. I'm having all kinds of problems with the computer because it has been infected by malware or viruses, don't know that. I have already backed up all my documents, photos and files pst on an external hard drive.

I press '0' when the power and then got the following options.

First option is 32 or 64 bits,
I chose 32 that the vehicle has currently 32-bit installed.
Warns next option, I selected Yes.
Next option is factory default software recovery (Recover State out-of-the-box). or erase the hard drive, I chose the default settings restoring.
    Then there's 3 options,
1 recovery of out-of-the-box-state (System Recovery Options include).
    2. recovery without changing hard drive partitions, or
    3. recover to custom size partition. I thought I chose Option 1, but it shows all partitions will be deleted and you will lose all data on the hard drive.

This means that I will delete the windows installs partition?
    Choose option 2?
Option 2 says "the first partition is deleted and you will lose all data on the partition. I am thinking 2 option?

On a separate issue, I could install the 64 bit version of Windows, if so it would be an advantage?

    Hello

Detailed explanations on the recovery image installation, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Please check it and I hope you find al the info you need there. I always use Recovery option out-of-box state > system recovery options are included.

Your system is infected of course and you have to complete resettlement in order to not make this so complicated. Back up all your data and install recovery image using option 1. No matter what will be removed and what not. Drive HARD integer should be cleaned.

I recommend you to use the version of 64-bit operating system.
Very nice article about 32 and 64 bit versions OS, you can find here.

  • Backup media Satellite L500D - 13P is not Win 7 64 BIT version!

As I read in many messages here, an example:

    and

and so on... The story was that I got my laptop with any OS, so I used the included 32 bit recovery disc, now I want to use the full 4 GB of ram and I tried the 64 bit recovery disc, so I ordered the backup media on the site mentioned on all the posts here, and for 34,90 EUR (quite expensive) , they sent me the backup media, but are a 32-bit version... for 35 I think at least they'd send me the two not only the (32 bit versions I already have...) any suggestions?

    Laptop Satellite L500D - 13p

    Hello

I never ordered this support, but maybe you should mention it in the order details.
However, if you get this recovery disk so I guess, you should have some contact, email addresses or phone numbers, etc. in the package.
Get in touch with these guys here and request the 64-bit version.

    Good luck

  • Can satellite L500D - I get Vista 64-bit?

I just buy new computer Toshiba Satellite L500D and I installed Vista 64 bit, but then I realized that some of the programs and games work dosent in 64-bit version of windows.

Can I still chance it if I recover this window or if I order Windows 7 (a free, I just pay what they send me) can I get it then? Or I can make clear installation and then chanse on 32-bit or install Windows xp and upgrade to Windows 7?

    Hey Buddy

All first if burn you the Toshiba Recovery disk using the Toshiba Recovery disk you can still restore Vista 64 bit any time you want. This disk contains an image of the factory settings and can be restored if you start from the disc.

Your question about the different versions of Windows (upgrade, etc) is quite complicated, but theoretically, you can install what you want. An upgrade to Windows 7 is possible if you are using Vista, update on XP isn t possible. In addition, you can pass only to the same version, which means that Vista 32 bit can only be upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit to 64-bit only.

  • Satellite L500D - 16K - where to find the new updates?

    HY guys,.

When I bought my Satellite L500D - 16K, I complained in forums dedicated to this notebook page contained very few pilots. After some time, a week or two, she 'suddenly' populated with drivers for everything. Now, after verification not for awhile, the model everything just disappeared from the model list! There is no L500D - 16K here!

The automatic detection tool, which has worked before, now says your model is not found. Even if I search by serial number, the system can not find! Is not professional at all.

Any idea where I should look for to see if new updates appeared?

    Hi Glady,

What Toshiba page you are looking for exactly?
AFAIK Satellite L500D - 16K belongs to European laptops models and so you must search on this page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

On the European page click support & downloads > download drivers. The next page you will find:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

He's looking for series Satellite L500D and PSLTHE and you can find the new updates for her! :)

  • Satellite L500D - SSD and RAM upgrade question

    Hello

Who are you? Ttime for some great upgades for this laptop and some few questions and I'll be happy to answer for me.

    1. is there an empty space to install a second hard drive SSD?

    2. If there is not can put off the hard drive DVD and in the empty space to fit an SSD? I need something like that? ---> fb4d http://cgi.ebay.com/CF-Card-2-5-Serial-ATA-SATA-SSD-HDD-UDMA-Adapter-/190537923405?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5cf1
    This is an adapter.

    3. the quantity of RAM max supported Satellite L500D? I installed 2GB and I have an extra plug and I want to install a single 4 GB RAM and 6 GB RAM total

Its sounds good to you this idea? I thank you and have a nice day

    Hey,.

As you can see on the underside of the laptop doesn t supports a second HDD because there is no second Bay HARD drive on the underside.
The map you posted is unofficial so no one can say whether it compatible s part or not. For laptops Satellite AFAIK there is no CD/DVD Bay adapter, but you can ask a provider of service authorized for more details.

The maximum RAM capacity depends on your phone model correct. L500D was delivered with different hardware, so you must post your exact model laptop number.

  • Satellite L500D - 11 p & Win7 64 bit

Hello everyone I just bought the Toshiba Satellite L500D - 11 p Notebook PSLK3E-00N00TGR with a Win Vista pre-installed 32-bit & 64-bit. I want to install my own OS Win7 64 bit. First of all, I hate Vista, then I want to use 4 GB of Ram on this point, so I need WIn7 64 bit OS. But his Support Page of the driver:

    NES http://de.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=de&mode=allMachi & action = search & teddProduct = 856 & selShortMod = 892

There is no Win7 64 bit drivers for L500D - 11 p. Will there be a period of time, or is there another possibility Toshiba itself will correct that emit little, oder pourrais I just use the 64 bit Vista driver for Win7 64 bit OS?

    I don't know why there r Win7 32 bit drivers, but not Win7 64-bit available.

Specification of the material of this Satellite L500D - 11 p is almost the same with respect to the following model:

    Satellite L500D-144,
    Satellite L500D - 13H,
    Satellite L500D-14W.

These 3 NBs have preinstalled Win7 64 bit. Can I use instead their Win7 64-bit drivers? As I said that Win7 64 bit OS is preinstalled, similarly, 64-bit drivers but the drivers download page there are also no Win7 64 bit drivers for these 3 NBs. How is this possible, if they have even their all preinstalled and work? I'm a little confused, maybe more than just a little. But if the 64-bit r only preinstalled and working, where did you get em Toshiba or going where I get them and how much better, where will get 64-bit drivers for Win7 for my Toshiba Satellite L500D - 11 p?

    > These 3 NBs have preinstalled Win7 64 bit. Can I use instead their Win7 64-bit drivers?
    Of course you can do!

You can try all the unique drivers that have been released for other series as well.
I mean, in the worst case that the pilots would not work, and you wouldn't be able to install it
What do you have to lose?

In my opinion you should try it.

  • Satellite L500D - cannot install all drivers for Windows 7 64 bit

    Hey,.

the problem is that I installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit yesterday. Before I was using Vista Home Premium 32-Bit, so it must be a clean install. I downloaded all the drivers for my laptop model (Satellite L500D-10R) from the Toshiba site. The problem now is that not everyone can be installed because with several I get the error message, for example with Chip Set Utility I get the error «this system is not satisfying the minimum requirements...» "in addition, when you try to install the Eco utility I get an empy message and stops the installation. What can be the problem here?

And what's with Wi - Fi. When I plug in the ethernet cable to the Internet works correctly, but when I try to connect to my router (the ofc ethernet cable disconnected) he cannot identify my computer and gives me an error of network interface controller and says the reason is 0 x 00028001.

Here is the error message (sorry for the language):
    + Deleted information - non-English language.

    Hi mate,

With regard to the Intel chipset error message I can suggest only install this manual dirver via Device Manager. I had the same problem and if I could install the chipset driver.
    Check this box!

Regarding Eco Utility, you must install all the drivers first, then Tools. Value added should be the first tool of Toshiba you install.

You installed a driver for your wireless network card?

Perhaps you need to restore the factory settings if you are not an expert of installing the driver ;)
