  Have you been able to solve the problem with the error code ox803C010A.  Too, I have a problem with one of my internal speakers not working not not and tried to access Microsoft fixit software to identify the problem until this error code appeared and put an end to everything.   Check if the default audio device is properly defined. Follow these steps:

  a. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click sound.

  b. click the read tab make sure that the correct default audio device is selected. (For most users, the default audio device is pregnant.)

  c. If your default device is not set to the right audio device, on the read tab, select the appropriate device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, click OK.

  d. on the read tab, select the playback device, click set upand make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

  If the sound settings are set correctly and that your speakers are already set as default device, go to "Check if an audio driver is installed" now.

  e. Select the audio device you want as audio device by default, and then click set as default.

  f. click OK to save your settings.

• Satellite L650 - ODD does not read most of the CD or DVD after BIOS update

  While DVD copy, asked me to do an upgrade of the bios for the included software on my laptop, so I thought that coming from toshibsa, it must be safe. I closed all my apps and let the update occur, restarted my pc and tried to continue to copy my dvd.

  Now my dvd writer does not read most of my CD or DVD, original as well.
  I managed to get hold of my previous Bios version after a battle before the update to see if I can go back to my old version, but the executable file runs a program that says the version is older then the one I use, so it will not load it.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated I have two days to copy 100 DVDs for a customer and I can't do it now,

  I don t think that the BIOS is the problem here, the point is that CD and DVD support details are stored in the firmware of the CD/DVD drive and NOT in the BIOS of the laptop.
  So in my opinion the update of the BIOS is not the reason for your problem.

  I think you should check if cleaning the laser lens allows you to read discs.
  Use a fluid wadding tip and alcohol to gently clean the laser lens.

I finailly got all my drivers installed and updated on the site variouus.  Now, when I check my internal speakers (no system sounds) I can not find the make and model of them.  All I can identify is that I have.  That the drivers are missing. No part number for the company name, etc. is connected with the internal speakers.

  I don't know what you mean by getting the drivers from "various sites." The only place to get the drivers for the hardware that is installed with your Dimension is the Dell Web site.

  Try a reset of the monitor. Unplug the power cord from the monitor and hold the power button of the monitor for 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and it lights up.  Does that help?

  Consult this Manual.  Go into the on-screen display-->> volume and turn up to max all the sounds?

  Don't forget that you have a green audio cable plugged into the monitor and audio output on your PC port. Don't forget to unplug the headphones.

  Try a PC speaker separated in order to eliminate the PC as the problem.  You can also try the monitor and cable on another PC.

  recently bought a Dell latitude E6420 i5 - 2520 M 8 GB and I have a very annoying problem with the speakers.

  The sound from the speakers worked until I plugged in the plug of headphones into the computer for the first time - when I unplugged the headset internal speakers stop working completely.

  What is strange, is that whenever I have uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers speakers begin to work again until I plug the plug of the headphones and again speakers stop working. Any idea?

  I bought this satellite A110-276 a few months ago. I understand that the connection of the external speakers automatically turns off the internal speakers. I have been using external speakers for quite awhile, but now when I disconnect them the internal speakers are no longer working.

  the socket where connect you the external speakers generally used a suspended metal contact to disconnect the built in speakers when the plug is pushed. Removal of the plug in external speakers is expected then suspended contact return to its normal position which will return power to the built-in speakers.
  It is possible that the plug of the external speakers folded contact suspended so that it is no longer completes the circuit to the built-in speakers. You will have to remove you nnotebook to have access to the outlet to check.

  You could ask your local authorized service partner to check for you so that you do not invalidate your warranty.

  FWIW, you cannot select the internal speakers if you have whatever it is connected to the headphone design. If you are using USB or Bluetooth speakers, you can.

  Problem is that series Satellite L a standard stereo speakers, and they are not so powerful but good enough for basic stuff. In some Toshiba multimedia laptops high quality built-in harman/kardon speakers and there is big difference in sound quality as the sound volume level.

  On my old Satellite L300, I had the same situation then I used the headset for multimedia activities, except that I wanted to listen to my favorite online radio station.

  I have a 19 x120e Fedora running.

  My speakers work for maybe a minute and then stops. If I put the computer to sleep, then wake him up once again, it'll work for a minute or two. When I plug in headphones or external speakers, it works perfectly.
