Satellite L655 - 17 H - won't turn on properly

I just bought a new Satellite L655 - 17H and it is already causing problems.

The laptop sometimes turns. When you press the power button on the laptop lights will Flash and then turn off quickly, but the laptop does not light. If you press the power button several times she always does.
I usually use my laptop without the battery and it was working fine. Sometimes it works if I put the battery and press the power several times, but not always.

Any suggestions on what this might be?

Hi Jade,.

How much time do you have your laptop? I ask this because in my opinion that s not normal behavior and if it of possible I return the laptop and pick up a new. Normally in the first 14 days it of possible, but it s based on your country/seller.
This t shouldn't happen on a new laptop that is only a few days old.

It seems that it was just chance but don t you worry not about it. It can happen to everyone ;)

    Hello

Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery.
Wait a while (a few hours) then reconnect both sides and try to turn on the unit.
If that does not help, then your laptop has developed a hardware problem and in this case the material should be checked by a local technician of ASP.

Perhaps it could be a motherboard problem.

  • Satellite U500 - physical button won't turn wireless power adapters

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a little weird.

For some reason, the physical power button on the front of U500 my wife will not turn adabters WLAN and Bluetooth enabled or disabled without a hard reboot.

If I swtich off button and the LED next to her remains on the cards continue to run and will not actually switch off unless I restart the machine and even if I turn the back button.

We know so at least the hardware itself works, but it really does work. I went through all of the software drivers and setting I could think of that could cause this, but haven't found anything abnormal. What do you think is happening here?

    TIA,
    Shady

When you leave the WLAN button ON all the time can you enable or disable WLAN or BT using the FN + F8 key combination?

  • Satellite A660 (12 X) won't turn on

I downloaded a BIOS update, and at the time wherever I run it, the laptop froze. No response from keyboard or mouse movement. I let it be for a few hours and it has not yet moved. I tried to turn it off, and it did not work. Long press the power button no longer works. In the end I had to remove the battery to turn if off.

Now, it does not turn. By pressing the power button doesn't do anything: no movement of screen, lights or fan. The only thing that still works is the witness of power cable.

I used the factory pre installed Windows 7.

Bad luck buddy I have no idea why the updates to the BIOS did not run successfully, but it seems that the update did not complete successfully and the module ROM was not properly flashed.
I m not very well if the new BIOS update using a disc of crisis could help you, but you should certainly contact the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country for assistance and support.
Explain to him that the whole story and possibly the crisis disk would be your last way to get if fixed.
Otherwise the motherboard must be replaced:(j'espère que cette isn t le cas)

    Hi I'm new here

Ive had my laptop for about 2 years and she had a lot of problems - broken screens, dust in the fan, etc.

yesterday I used it as usual when it off completely without warning.
I'm used to is happening because my laptop overheats and turns off like that on a regular basis.

However, when I turned it back on, it makes a high pitched noise that kept getting more high until the laptop turns off again.
I think the noise of the fan.

There was also a slight smell of burning plastic.
My laptop does not turn on and when I plug it in the orange power light does.

Also last week the hing on one side of the laptop is broken.
The screen still worked and all the wires were still intact

To be honest, all the details do not sound very good...
Everything looks like some causes of serious hardware problem laptop cannot be turned on.
I can't say for sure what the problem is here, but probably the motherboard or the CPU is dead.

In any case, your data on the HARD drive should not be affected, and I guess you could get access to your entire iTunes library. You must remove the laptop HARD drive Bay HARD drive and you will have to use an external USB 2.5 "HDD caddy to connect the HARD drive from the laptop to another computer as an external USB HDD.

This will allow you to move forward and back up the data to another job good HARD drive.

  • Satellite Pro L300D laptop won't turn on

    Hello

My laptop has decided that it will switch to me.
I have tried with battery and AC cable in French - nothing, cable of battery and AC in French - nothing.

However I left load the laptop with the battery in about an hour, and the computer is started when the button is pressed.
However, it starts to load and initial Windows is displayed but the screen becomes black (but always on) and freezes, I can't turn off it because now the power button does not work (I tried various times holding!)

I had a glance on this forum and cannot find any suggestions, I have not tried, so everyone has no more or should I just go to an ASP?

The laptop was purchased at the end of March so I'm really very annoyed at this fault happening so fast! :(

    any help is very appreciated
    Thank you

    Hello

    It its good doesn t...
The laptop must function properly and it should stop by pressing the power button for 4 seconds.
It should also start without any big problems

Just a question; is it possible to reinstall the OS and redefine the laptop to factory settings?
If this isn't the case then I would be highly recommended to contact the ASP because the guarantee seems to be valid and the ASP technician should repair at our expense

In my opinion, it's the best procedure

  • Re: laptop won't turn on

I have a Satellite A215 who just won't turn on. I have the blue light flash on the power cable and battery. I tried to take out the battery and memory.
I tried to use only the power cord power, but with no luck please please help got all my pics on laptop and it won't just turn

Have you tried a different memory location? On some PCs, you must have a Module of memory in the first place. Otherwise, it does not start.

If this does not work, then the motherboard or video card might be faulty. Take it to a Service Center for repair.

But please don t ask me what exactly wrong s or what part malfunctions.
Without any control it s simply not possible to provide the final diagnosis.

Toshiba has changed the motherboard a few days ago, but the problem persists. Update BIOS. My laptop is the only one affected

    Thank you in advance,
    Maurizio.

    Hey Buddy,

    > Toshiba has changed the motherboard a few days ago, but the problem persists
So have you contacted already technicians again? You must tell them that the problem is still not resolved and it must be another reason for this problem. Then get in touch with technicians again to clarify this issue.

Have you connected external devices while laptop is turned off?
-Online if yes remove each of them.

Load default settings in the BIOS?
-Online if it is not this. Enter in the BIOS, and then press the F9 key to load defaults.

Otherwise, it would be time to service as I have already written. It must be a nuisance material

  • How to turn off the LCD on Satellite L655-1JV?

    Hello!

I have a * Toshiba Satellite L655-1jJV * and I would like to know how I can * turn off the LCD screen *. I tried to use the F5 key, but it does not give me the option to change (always the LCD on except if I connect an external monitor.)
Of course, I mean, turn off the lcd screen so that, for example, I rose from the monitor, and I'm listening to music...

I'm really looking for the answer!

In s manuals document is clearly described when you use the FN + F5 key combination and has nothing to do with it turn off the LCD screen.

If you need not display and it should be OFF while you listen to music please change the display settings in power options. In the power settings, there is option turn off the screen. Set it to 1 minute and everything will be OK.

  • Re: Satellite C660-1F1 won't turn on even with the AC adapter is plugged

    Hello

    I need help.
I have a portable c660-1F1. It will come with the charger plugged.
Trying to hook up without the battery and it will not turn on. I don't know what the problem is.

I took the battery and took out the charger and you press the button power for 30 seconds and nothing.

Did a CMOS reset and nothing.
Took one on the memory and replaced it, but nothing.

I don't know what the problem is. I even took the internal battery and see if that makes a difference.
    Nothing happened. Still won't turn.
I think it may be the internal fuse if there is?
Or if could be the port if the laptop? The charger works fine.

The battery life is very good and I think I'm out of options and I'm afraid that it might be the motherboard and if yes, then I guess I can replace the card mother, but don't know if it works.

    Can someone help me?

    > The battery is fine and I think I'm out of options and I'm afraid that it might be the motherboard and if yes, then I guess I can replace the card mother, but don't know if it works.

    It looks like the motherboard.
It would be the worst case, because the new motherboard is really expensive: about 300

Do you think that its worth a try? I have not... in that case I would ask a technician to check the hardware.

What would you do if you buy a mobo and finally you will discover that it is not question of mobo?

My laptop (Toshiba Satellite L750) comes from the usual turn on, I tried removing the battery and the charger then hold the power button, remove the battery and the charger, keeping the battery but no charger, but all without success.

    Ideas?

EH... it is not easy to say what the problem is, but probably power electronic is a troublemaker.
When you connect power AC is one of the power LEDs ON?
Is something that has happened these days with your laptop? I mean we don t know what you did with your laptop.

I think that the new battery must be tested, but before you do make sure you use the latest version of the BIOS
I mean its battery problem or electronic books power supply and before portable s equipment is turned on, the laptop must be tested using the new pile of work well.

  • Re: Display the update driver on Satellite L655-1Jn

I'm waiting for the update of the display driver for my laptop Satellite L655-1Jn.

Is it possible that the update has been release 8.7? In the ATI site, the latest available driver is 11.10, is there another way to install the new drivers without waiting from Toshiba that I think that it won't happen because the latest version was more than 6 months ago!

    Thanks to tips to help

    Hey slash

As you probably know display driver support is limited to mobile units and the display driver update will not be offered so often.

Due to the specific and limited design laptop cooling capacity manufacturers are very carefully with this stuff. New driver can force a graphics card to run with more performance and more performance produces more heat. When the temperature is too high or laptop turns off automatically or it may happen that graphics card will be damaged.

I checked the download page for some newer models with the same graphics card, but the latest display driver for all models is 8.712.2.1.

    Hello

I am using TOSHIBA SATELLITE L655-1HC, recently upgraded to 10 of Windows, but my Bluetooth is not be disabled.

I tried everything, but no result at all. I think maybe it's like the driver support for Windows 7.

How can I for me? or is there another solution to make of (the necessary key is missing, by the way).

    1. go to "Device Manager".
    2. in Device Manager, expand Bluetooth.
    3. right click generic Bluetooth adapter and update the driver.
    4. re-start.
    5. now you should be able to turn off/turn on the BT
