Satellite L755D: Start button / stop static is red when I stop

I have a Toshiba laptop, L755D.

Recently, when I stop the laptop and turn off the power, the power led turns on a few seconds after stopping.
He remains a static red color until I connect upward when it returns to normal color blue/white.
While the stop of the battery loses the power of 1 to 2%.

Can anyone help please?

> While the stop of the battery loses the power of 1 to 2%.
Check this box:
Why lose 2 to 4% battery by turning off then back on my mobile device?
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ9C012L0001R01.htm

It is normal for a unit to lose between 2-4% battery, when to stop and reverse.
Battery re-gauge it's self when starting back from an engine out of State. An accurate reading of the battery can take up to 5 minutes.

Original title: Start button / stop - "ask me what to do" - where is it?

Under XP, when I pressed the power button I could put it "Ask Me what to do." This is very useful for two reasons:

-My PC is under my desk, and if I'm not careful, I can press the power button with my knee...

-To turn off, I can hit the power button / stop rather than start etc, then choosing.

The feature exists on Windows 7 (press alt + F4), then how do you link that to the press the power button? Why this was removed?

    Hello

Yes, there are only work-a-rounds and that is why I suggested that
thread. There are also a few details about why he was abducted that
are especially that in general as it caused more problems than it solved. Then
for those who have used the function correctly, it is a concern when trying
to restore its functionality. To my knowledge, is not 100%
this case, just ability cannot be added in by a registry setting
as support has been totally removed. If this is the case, then the work - a-
towers or possible 3rd party solutions are the remaining options.

Please let us know if you find a better solution.

    I hope this helps.

  • T400: Start button / stop does nothing in Vista

Hello, I start button / stop set to "turn off computer" in the Power Manager settings, but when I press the Vista power button nothing happens. I use Vista 32 bit SP2. The power button turns the computer very well and of course now that it performs a closed hard but he executes any action when you press right on it.

Holding for 1.5 seconds will shut down normally (assuming that you have defined at the stop) and now it for about 5 seconds or more will make a stop 'hard' who just turns off everything without a load.

  • Satellite S50T-A - button / stop does not

    Hello

I am running Windows 8.1. After that most recent Windows Update and then restarted, the computer froze to the Toshiba start screen. Fan went into overdrive and so I pushed the power button / stop.

Now, seems dead - button / stop, black screen, no its HARD drive is unresponsive. Only signs of life are power and battery LED on the front of the computer. Press and hold the power button for more than 10 seconds do nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Stop switch force (hole) is available at the bottom of the laptop.
In the case of PC freezes, do not start or a power failure, which can be fixed by pressing the power button for 10 seconds (force shutdown) and now, use the stop switch to force

I found this info in this document of FAQ from Toshiba
[The stop switch of strength (hole) for models with one main battery fixed | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm]

A short feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • spectrex360: Start button / stop / flashing laptop won't turn on

I just got the HP spectrum x 360 on the Store of MS (signature edition). The power button on the side flashes and it won't turn. I know that the battery is charged, because it is connected and there is a connedtion that the led is lit when the power cord is connedted to the laptop. But the power button continues to blink and I can't turn on the computer. I tried to tap on the screen and the Microsoft keyboard key. Any way to reset this? Thank you

OK, I found the answer. It was a hard reset. Just hold the Start button for 20 seconds (or until it no longer flashes) then wait a bit and you can restart the laptop.

  • Start button / stop does not work

    Here's the thing:

I bought the OfficeJet pro 8600 last year.

Everything was ok until this month one (September 2014) after 13 months of use.

All of a sudden the power button no longer works, I mean, I can no longer turn the printer unless I unplug him the decision-making.

I followed all the instructions on this thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/officejet-pro-8600-plus-won-t-shut-off... and have my unresolved problem.)

Its firmware version is CKP1CN1435AR. The latest version on the HP site is CLP1CN1322CR. I downloaded it but I could not install because it presented the status does not apply.

I would like a concrete solution from HP support. If it is a firmware issue, please tell me where I can download a functional.

If it's a hardware problem, please tell me we can I acquire spare parts, after the warranty period has expired, can I fix it myself (I'm an electronic engineer). If you know that it's a hardware problem, you must know which component is defective and will save a lot of my work if you tell me where can I buy a new one, instead of telling me to take my printer to an HP support.

    Thank you in advance,
    Stanley

    To the right.

Finally, I managed to find the cause of a malfunction of the power button on the printer.

It is not necessary to connect the printer directly to the output. It is not necessary to reset. It is not necessary to update its firmware.

When you use the printer, I noticed that when I raise the front panel by pressing the button located to the right and pulling the Panel upwards, the light on the power button is off.

When lowered the Panel, the light on again.

So obviously, I concluded that the operation of the power button was based on mechanical moving parts work perfectly.

I pressed the power button and the printer still does not close. So, I pressed the front against the printer and to the left. I heard a sound like a click.

I pressed the power button and the printer turns off again.

I repeated the process several times with the same result.

Then I realized that simply lower the Panel was not enough for the power button work.

After having lowered the Panel, press it against the printer and a little to the left until it almost imperceptible click.

In doing so, the power button works perfectly.

I hope this can help owners of this printer, once HP has not helped.

  • START BUTTON / STOP DOES NOT ILLUMINATE

I have a hpe-500y that a few weeks and the power button which is normally blue when on or yellow in sleep mode does not work, is there a way to reset this or is it a warranty issue? computer turns on normally and works very well just know light.

    Hello

It's almost certainly a hardware failure of the LED charge to illuminate the power button.  I highly recommend that you have this repaired under warranty - depending on the time you got the PC, you may still be able to get the retailer to replace so it may be interesting to contact them about this.

If you need to contact HP for repair under warranty, you can do here.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Try to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?
You can also try to use the FN + F5 combination to check if the display will change back to the internal display.

But look, man, if you are not successful then I guess there must be a serious hardware problem and only the laptop technician might know what's wrong.

  • Start button / stop is stuck on Satellite P20 after pressing on it's too hard

    Hello

What happens now is when I power up it starts and closing.

How can I fix the button, someone has any ideas?

I think that you don't need to look for the answer in the forum. For me, it makes sense that the laptop must be disassembled and the button should probably be replaced.

  • Toshiba satellite 1900 lights. Start button / stop is probably lacking.

    Hello world

I have a terrible problem with my laptop. It lights up. I had to press the switch with all my power to make him run.

    The chronology of my problem:
Initially it if turned on when I pushed with great force. But now, it is not possible to provide energy in it. The power supply is working and the green light, which means power unit, shiny all the time is. I don't have a battery in use.

Only the laptop will not work.

So who can help me? How can I solve the problem by myself in order to avoid high costs?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

in my opinion, it is impossible to fix this problem yourself because you didn't have the expierence and you can't special order parts!

It may also be that not only the power button is damaged but also other parts!

Then please contact a Toshiba Service partner!

  • Satellite M40 - start and stop issue

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop Satellite M40 on stop to the low process sometimes also on windows start and I think it's BIOS associates.

When I start my laptop, sometimes (not always) I get an error message in a blue screen saying that my BIOS is not fully ACPI-compatible... I reboot, and if I wait a while, the system boots normally, but if I just restart immediately, he'll get the same message.
It happens sometimes that the computer goes further opening in the black screen message: contact tomorrow: toshiba

The other problem, I don't know if it of related or not, is that the computer is not shut down or restart. I have to do it by pressing the button for a while. I thought it was an application that I had in my system that was the cause, but I have just formatted the hard drive and the same mistakes are still ongoing...

When it stops, it stops right on the message: 'Windows is shutting down... ". »

I updated my BIOS with the new available for download here to toshiba support, and I think it was the trigger for all these problems... now I don't know how to go back, or even if it's the reason.
I really hope someone here can help me, because I just wanted all the information related to the internet without success.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Satellite M40 is well-known for me because one of my friends has one at home. Laptop very nice.

So, what can I say? It's really not easy to say what the problem is here, but if you use Windows XP Home edition for a long time, it can happen that one day to happen strange things. I believe that no one here can say with certainty what the problem with your machine.

If possible, you should clean OS installation using recovery media delivered. After doing this, you should see what is happening. In this case, no one can say that there are programs that have bad influence on the execution of the operating system.

  • Satellite T130 - restart button stops, instead of reboots

When I click on "Restart" in the menu start, my laptop (T130-H) stops as usual. However, stop and don't try to reboot at all. Its almost as if the restart button was actually the same as the stop button.

Anyone know what could be causing this? Is there a setting that can be changed somehow?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Normally, on Windows 7, you can customize the close button in the start menu. As you can also do that on Vista.
What I founded on this option of stop button:
    http://www.gilsmethod.com/how-to-customize-the-Windows-7-shut-down-button

In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are using the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba or have you installed Windows 7 yourself?

  • Windows XP SP3: Hang all night @ "Windows is shutting down"... "Start button / stop is my only option?

I don't know where else to ask this... been going from one site to the other, books, etc., for hours looking for titles of threads that fit, but always leave out this something... medium or average power down.  do not use the power button, except if no other option out there.

When I left my pc last night, everything seemed fine.  I decided to leave it on and not yet started to disconnect, etc..  Not sure if there was anything during the night (update?) which requires a reboot, but, when I'm happened to pc this morning it was hanging at the "Windows is shutting down" screen... "Windows and continued so for a few hours I tried to understand.

This happened to me for the first time last week.  I don't have another source to the internet at the time, so I have 'given' and ended up using the power button.  I rebooted and immediately stopped to see if it would happen again, but everything was fine.  (Knew I should have troubleshooted!) The pc seemed so far.

I read a number of suggestions to solve problems in other posts, but they all begin with the assumption that the pc is in a State of "exploitable".

Step # 1 is need now is my only option to turn off, forcing a stop down with the power button?

I'm going batty at this stage.  Any guidance appreciated.

    It might be.

I know that superantispyware does not remove itself completely as you use their uninstaller or add/remove.

Obviously, it's one of their drivers still installed, you must remove this item and then check if you still have a problem.

    Post back with the results.

There are several posts on this problem, perhaps one of them will help you if removal of the driver does not.

  • Start button / stop play ringtone

    Hello

Yesterday, I bought the Z5 and if I hold down the power button, my ringtone started playing.  If I pressed again, it will start playing again on the other ring and my only option is to use the key to toggle to turn off the sound, but when I turn the volume to the top it will still play so my only option to stop it is to restart.  It is whenever I have press and hold the power button.

If someone could shed some light, I would be so grateful!

    Thanks in advance.
