  See the documentation provided with your computer or the web site of manufacturer support.  The flashing light is almost surely you give an error message and if you can interpret what it is telling you by looking at the model/types of flashes on the support web site, you can then replace or repair what is defective.

  Scan does not not on my HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-One.  The power button flashes when you press scan. Everything else works.  I tried to unplug it from the wall socket and reconnect it.  Not solve the problem. What else can I try?  Or, is it a piece of junk now and needs replacement?   My laptop (windows vista) did not go into repairs several months ago. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

  I have a T450S which is a few months. It worked fine until the other day when it wouldn't turn on.

  When I push the power button, the Green LED flashes three times. Then, the LEDs on the keys F1, F4 and Fn comes on for a few seconds and turns off.

  Here is what I tried:

  -Load for a long period.

  -Remove the battery for an extended period.

  -Remove the battery and now the power button for 60 seconds.

  -By pressing the button in the hole reset of emergency.

  Nothing has made any difference. Any ideas?

  Update: I called Lenovo support and send it for repair.

  Have you tried to connect the laptop to a power adapter and then gently shake the power adapter connection to see if the power led blinks on and outside?

  Who will let you know if the problem is the connector of the DC adapter on the motherboard. They are not lacking.

  1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.
     • Navigate to HP Software and Driver Downloads site (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html) to find the last pilot approved for your model.  Filtrer filter by version, select Microsoft Windows 8.1 on the menu drop-down.  Find the download in the category 'Driver-Chipset'  If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is listed, download.  [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe) works for most models.]
     • If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is NOT listed, download the driver appropriate directly from Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine).  [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23091/Intel-ME-9-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC) works for most models.]
  2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
  3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
     • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
     • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
     • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
     • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
  4. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
     • NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10.  The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
  5. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
  6. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep and stop again.

  My Toshiba Qosmio f15-av201 does not turn when you push the power button, even if the lights of ac adapter & battery are both on (on). Indeed, the yellow light that is supposed to turn on the power button when the laptop is turned off does not appear. In addition, there is no sign that shows the laptop tries to start when the button is pressed, not even a peep. The laptop was recently dismantled (open) to clean the fans, who made the famous monstrous noise which toshiba qosmios are apparently well known for.
  Everything seems to be connected correctly in its correct place. Nothing seems to be damaged. So, I have no idea where I can get out of here. Pending issue.
