spectrex360: Start button / stop / flashing laptop won't turn on
I just got the HP spectrum x 360 on the Store of MS (signature edition). The power button on the side flashes and it won't turn. I know that the battery is charged, because it is connected and there is a connedtion that the led is lit when the power cord is connedted to the laptop. But the power button continues to blink and I can't turn on the computer. I tried to tap on the screen and the Microsoft keyboard key. Any way to reset this? Thank you
OK, I found the answer. It was a hard reset. Just hold the Start button for 20 seconds (or until it no longer flashes) then wait a bit and you can restart the laptop.

HP Deskjet 2514: Start button / stop flashes when I try to scan HP Deskjet 2514
I had a problem where my printer would not prevent printing, even though I cancelled it. I watched and followed these instructions.
From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R. In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter. Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button. Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find that the documents have been deleted.
I didn't know that one to remove, so I deleted everything in the folder. Now, my printer prints, but whenever I try to scan something, my power button flashes and it won't scan. Help, please!
Hi @Donna924,
I read your post and see you were able to solve the problem for print jobs would not cancel, but now you are unable to scan. I'd love to help you.
Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
Download and run the print and Scan Doctor, he will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. This software will also troubleshoot jobs stuck in the queue, which you could use in the future if the problem persists.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

If there is anything else I can help you, let me know. Thank you.

I GT5622 desktop and for awhile I was getting a lot of blue screen of the error codes and the computer would shut down or freeze and I have to press the power button to go back... Told me to clean the inside out with can air that I did, now it comes on sometimes and sometimes it won't I'll have to keep start to come, it will just make a sound for me noise from the fan and the power button LCD light will not be on now, LCD power light flashes and the rather I'm on the internet or not whenever I move the mouse the power button blinks and I can hear the fan start strong I need my computer for school, please help with this problem... Thank you
See the documentation provided with your computer or the web site of manufacturer support. The flashing light is almost surely you give an error message and if you can interpret what it is telling you by looking at the model/types of flashes on the support web site, you can then replace or repair what is defective.

Scan does not not on my HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-One. The power button flashes when you press scan. Everything else works. I tried to unplug it from the wall socket and reconnect it. Not solve the problem. What else can I try? Or, is it a piece of junk now and needs replacement? My laptop (windows vista) did not go into repairs several months ago. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

T450S does not start, button / stop flashes 3 times
I have a T450S which is a few months. It worked fine until the other day when it wouldn't turn on.
When I push the power button, the Green LED flashes three times. Then, the LEDs on the keys F1, F4 and Fn comes on for a few seconds and turns off.
Here is what I tried:
-Load for a long period.
-Remove the battery for an extended period.
-Remove the battery and now the power button for 60 seconds.
-By pressing the button in the hole reset of emergency.
Nothing has made any difference. Any ideas?
Update: I called Lenovo support and send it for repair.

HP-G62226TU: my laptop won't turn on when I push the power button
Hello
My laptop does not turn when I push the power button / stop and nor adjacent to the plug adapter lights turn on when I put the power supply. It behaves like completely dead. I pressed the button for 30 seconds as suggested in the following thread.
My laptop is 2.5 years old and was working fine without any problems so far.
Please suggest.
Thank you

OK... I learned to get the motherboard changed. How much it will cost in India for my laptop?
What do you suggest I should do?
How much will it cost in India? I have no idea. I live in Europe.
I suggest to ask a repair shop of PC or laptop.
If the cost of repair is more than 50% of the current value of the laptop, you would be better sourcing of a notebook replacement.

Original title: Start button / stop - "ask me what to do" - where is it?
Under XP, when I pressed the power button I could put it "Ask Me what to do." This is very useful for two reasons:
-My PC is under my desk, and if I'm not careful, I can press the power button with my knee...
-To turn off, I can hit the power button / stop rather than start etc, then choosing.
The feature exists on Windows 7 (press alt + F4), then how do you link that to the press the power button? Why this was removed?
See you soon,.
Chris
Hello
Yes, there are only work-a-rounds and that is why I suggested that
thread. There are also a few details about why he was abducted that
are especially that in general as it caused more problems than it solved. Then
for those who have used the function correctly, it is a concern when trying
to restore its functionality. To my knowledge, is not 100%
this case, just ability cannot be added in by a registry setting
as support has been totally removed. If this is the case, then the work - a-
towers or possible 3rd party solutions are the remaining options. Please let us know if you find a better solution.
I hope this helps.

T400: Start button / stop does nothing in Vista
Hello, I start button / stop set to "turn off computer" in the Power Manager settings, but when I press the Vista power button nothing happens. I use Vista 32 bit SP2. The power button turns the computer very well and of course now that it performs a closed hard but he executes any action when you press right on it.
Holding for 1.5 seconds will shut down normally (assuming that you have defined at the stop) and now it for about 5 seconds or more will make a stop 'hard' who just turns off everything without a load.

PROBOOK 4530 S: MY LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON
my laptop won't turn on... I tried a hard reset and still its doesn't turn is not on... If I plug the power supply cable there is no sign of life whatsoever.the power light does not turn on either
the fan does not turn on... it is not even a single sound or sign of life... I changed the batteries... I changed the charger/power supply but still nothing.i have tried to reinstall the memory and even changed the hard drive, but still nothing and I now suspect the motherboard
Have you tried to connect the laptop to a power adapter and then gently shake the power adapter connection to see if the power led blinks on and outside?
Who will let you know if the problem is the connector of the DC adapter on the motherboard. They are not lacking.

Pavilion 15 laptop: Start button / stop does not turn off
After the upgrade to windows 10, "sleep" mode did not work, however a windows update corrects this problem. The only problem I have seen today is that when I stopped my laptop the power button stays on your battery and I have to manually turn off (by pressing for 5 seconds). What I do is turn on the computer again and stop it again, and then it turns off completely. I m afraid that force close down may harm the computer. As info... I bought my laptop this year, came with windows 8.1. Any help? Thanks in advance.
- Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.
- Navigate to HP Software and Driver Downloads site (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html) to find the last pilot approved for your model. Filtrer filter by version, select Microsoft Windows 8.1 on the menu drop-down. Find the download in the category 'Driver-Chipset' If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is listed, download. [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe) works for most models.]
- If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is NOT listed, download the driver appropriate directly from Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine). [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23091/Intel-ME-9-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC) works for most models.]
- Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
- Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
- In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
- Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
- Click on stop to stop the service to run.
- Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
- Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver. If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
- NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10. The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
- Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver. (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
- Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
- Restart your computer.
- Rejoice! You can finally sleep and stop again.

Re: Computer laptop Qosmio F15 does not start when the Start button / stop is pressed
My Toshiba Qosmio f15-av201 does not turn when you push the power button, even if the lights of ac adapter & battery are both on (on). Indeed, the yellow light that is supposed to turn on the power button when the laptop is turned off does not appear. In addition, there is no sign that shows the laptop tries to start when the button is pressed, not even a peep. The laptop was recently dismantled (open) to clean the fans, who made the famous monstrous noise which toshiba qosmios are apparently well known for.
Everything seems to be connected correctly in its correct place. Nothing seems to be damaged. So, I have no idea where I can get out of here. Pending issue.Help will be less appreciated.
