Satellite M40-107: cannot re - install Powersaver - Code 0x7E
Recently, I had to re - install Windows Xp on my Satellite M40-107 (PSM40E). Everything went well. Finally, I wanted to install the powersaver and I downloaded the latest version for my machine from the Toshiba web site. Installation fine until I press the complete installation (kerncentrale).
A pop-up window appears with the message: fatal error, this programme will be completed. Code 0x7E.
After restarting the same message appears until the powersaver is removed from the Board to run.
Who can help?

Hello
It seems that there is no general solution for this problem.
I found and read a few comments on the similar problem, and it seems that the Toshiba recovery CD installation will eliminate this error message popup.

Satellite M40-244 - cannot start from CD after driver change
Hi all
I have a Satellite M40-244 and the original DVD drive is faulty. So I changed the drive with one that is exactly the same (same brand, same date of manufacture).
Under Windows, the new disk is recognized and works perfectly. However, when I try to boot from the CD, I am not able to do. I successfully changed the boot sequence in the bios, I tried all possible combinations without success.
One thing I remember is that when I tried to boot from the faulty driver, I got the message 'Not bootable CD' (the tested CD is bootable and tested on other computers)
Any idea anyone, I desperately need to install a new OS. :-(
Hello
I doubt that you can boot from CD t if your drive works properly in Windows...
You can try another disc of starting, for example the Toshiba recovery disc or the disc from Microsoft, please?Alternative try to load the default settings in the BIOS.
Good luck! :)

As some of the drivers were not picked up, I was download the latest drivers from the Toshiba site, but when I install the Toshiba Power Saver, utility, I get the following error;

The only option I is 'OK '. When I start the machine and Windows journal, I was invited with the same message, even, when I try and uninstall the energy saver utility. Is it possible to completely remove the utility, or can anyone suggest how to solve the problem. Any suggestions much appreciated.

http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9573&MessageID=33773But how did you install the entire operating system? Did you follow the installation instructions on the page of the Toshiba driver?
The order is very important and necessary if you want to install the Toshiba applications on your operating system.
I also discovered that the laptop uses Power saver power saver utility and driver.
I think you need to first install the driver and utility. But everything should be described in the installation instructions

Satellite 1800-400: cannot run/install applications after installing XP
I bought a Satellite 1800-400 for my daughter for her school work, formatted, installed XP pro, and when I tried to install the software for a wireless card (3Com) for internet access, he said only: "the application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
So I tried another card (Belkin) software it says "D:\ is not a valid Win32 application". So I tried to install the printer software and he says: 'the entry point of procedure not found in KERNEL32.dll dynamic link library.
So I thought I'd try XP Home, exactly the same, Win 98 and WinME function without problem.
I have also flashed the Bios, but it made no difference.Someone at - it ideas
Simes
Hmm, it s very strange. For me, it seems that some applications are not compatible with Windows XP. I m not 100% sure why it happens, but I put t think that it s a RAM problem because the other Windows Me and 98 to work properly.
But nothing is impossibleWhat version of BIOS is installed on your laptop? On the Toshiba page pilot 2.20 BIOS was released.
If your laptop uses an older version, you can try to update. -

Satellite M40-107 does not illuminate
Whenever I press the power button on my M40 turns yellow after a second or two. Then it turns blue and I hear the machine into action. But before I get something on the screen it already turns off. Someone had this problem on an M40? Is this all just "death"?
I must be the luckiest person in the world. I bought the machine a couple of weeks to replace a desktop computer that died on me.
Hello
I think that sounds like a hardware failure. I recommend going to a Toshiba service partner.
Sorry I don't have more info.
Good bye

Updating Microsoft SQL Server 2005 that kb2463332 cannot be installed with Code D59
I fought it for about 2 years or more. I can't find anything specific to this message (D59) error. My computer has not been good for long time and I think this error and no being is not able to update has a lot to do with it. I am not illiterate, but do not understand computer Lingo. If you have the answer, tell me in simple terms. I looked 28 possible causes and none of them seem familiar and the codes aren't 'D59. Any help here?
Hello

If I have my Satellite M40 to format and install windows from scratch... will I still be able to use the recovery cd and get my comp. return to 'normal '?
Yes. This way your mobile phone will be clean preinstalled. When you are finished check it please this topic and do the same http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=5138&messageID=17384#17384
As much as I know Satellite M40 comes with the Express media player. If you want to have it once again it must be preinstalled in a first time. After the installation of Express media player install the operating system. I also recommend you create two partitions. You can do this by using the facilities expert mode. If you would like more information on this topic please read this topic http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=4462&messageID=14518#14518
Good luck!

Satellite M40: message: can not play because the DVD decoder is not installed
not serious... I am back... I did a little reading and tried to read another cd in the drive and the message came to say "can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed, so I guess that's the problem because I have a recovery * DVD *.» Anyone know where I can find a dvd for a Satellite M40 decoder?
> can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed
This message appears if you want to play DVD movies with an application like Windows Media Player that has no (plug-in) installed DVD decoder.
Usually the DVD can be played with special programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD for example! But this DVD decoder has nothing to do with the Toshiba Recovery DVD and the fact your new DVD Player cannot read the recovery DVDs.
