Satellite M70 - 160 upgrade memory module RAM

Hey, guys... I am the proud owner of a Satellite M70-160.
I am considering upgrading my ram memory (I have 512 ddr2 at 533 mhz) and I woul like an another 512 and I have 2 problems. The first is that the memories of toshiba is the best? I mean they offer 2 types of memory ddr2 512 PA3412U - 2M 51 and PA3412U - 1 M 51.

The second question is "can I use other brands of memory ddr2 512 RAM sticks?" I mean they have to be exactly the same as that which is inside the laptop? Because I have seen other brands than ddr2 512 to 50% of the Toshiba offer those... In fact someone at the main dealer of Toshiba in Romania offered me another brand, SILICONE - something... (or something like that).

Thank you very much!

Hello

I think that the two bars of Toshiba offer the same performance, because they are the two PC2-4300. You should also be able to use other modules of the same type. They are simply not tested by Toshiba.

Good bye

I use about 2.75 TB of hard drives (USB).

If you are happy with this old piece of hardware you n t need new laptop computer. Upgrade of RAM is OK and you can do it alone. According to tender specifications that your P100 can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.

Compatible memory modules for your Satellite are:
    1 GB (PA3411U-2M1G)
    2 GB (PA3513U-1M2G)

    Hello

According to specification for laptop, that your laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. Tested and recommended 4GB module has part number PA3677U-1M4G amd it's 1066 MHz.

Unfortunately in the specifications of the laptop I didn t find what's the speed of the FSB for Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset, but you can check it on the Intel support page.

  • Satellite M70: Question about types of RAM

    Hey,.

I plan to buy some additional RAM for my Satellite M70. On the Toshiba site, there are 2 types of 1 GB of RAM memory available: PA3411U-2M1G and PA3411S-2M1G. The other costs twice as much as the first, although they are all two 1 GB DDR2 PC2-4300. Can anyone explane me the differences between these two?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

The differences are not known to me. I think that one is a little older and the new version of the module is more expensive.

    I found it compatible: DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G)

You know this site of memory?

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: memory modules RAM that actually work for HP EliteBook 8440p?

Hi everyone again. I scoured these forums and others and can't find a definitive answer to the upgrade of my RAM memory.

    My system:

    HP EliteBook 8440p

    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 M640

    Professional Win7 64 bit

    133 MHz bus clock

    BIOS: HP 68ccu, worm. F.11 (2010)

    Dual core, hyper-threaded (4)

    (?) Mobile Intel QM57 chipset

According to Belarc Advisor, I currently have a 4MB of RAM Samsung under the keyboard module. The second location is empty.  First of all, more memory RAM is not sold in the UK? I know that the computer is capable of 8 GB and the Kingston modules, I just tried to install were 4GB each.  Sticks of Kingston are 8 GB (2 x 4), PC3-10600, CL9, 1.5V, 204 pins SODIMM modules and they do NOT work on this laptop even if they should.

Has anyone found the secret of exactly which modules memory will work with this specific model of laptop? It is issues of density? Problems of tension? Am I missing a driver. I have to sing the thing while I install memory?

Seriously, any help at all will be appreciated.

    Hello:

Please read this thread, and I posted the memory you need to NewEgg if you live in the USA/Canada.

The 8440p uses the same memory as the 6550 b.

  • Satellite M70-160: chart hangs after a few minutes of play

I recently bought a laptop from toshiba M70-160. I am happy with the technical characteristics and specifications of the system.

My laptop has 2.0 sonoma Pentium M Centrino, 512 MB of DDR2 RAM and 256 MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 700 graphics card.
I'm using the latest drivers to display on the Toshiba site. However, for example in Age of Empires III, NFS Most Wanted, GTA San Andreas and Civilization IV my grave graphics card down and crashes until I have reset my laptop.

When I install the ATI mobility catalyst 6.1 driver it crashes again, but this time by displaying a message on VPU recover (as the graphics card no longer). Sometimes after 5 minutes of gameplay.

Sometimes it crashes after 10 minutes or more even that I have reduce the graphics settings in the game. How can we solve this problem?

    Thank you very much...

    Hello

Toshiba recommends to use the driver of Toshiba graphics due to overheating problems.
Toshiba drivers are little different than the driver graphic original manufacturer s. Toshiba drivers include thermal protection and control the performance of the graphics card. This is important because the laptop cards graphics don t have own cooling as graphics cards office module.

Well, you can try using the graphics driver omega but at your own risk

  • Satellite P20 - GPV - upgrade memory makes the computer slow

My laptop came with 2 x 256 MB of ram. I bought 2 x 1 GB ULTRA of Tiger Direct. My computer is slower than before, so I went back to them. Should I buy memory Kingston as suggested by Toshiba? Should it make a difference?
What I would see as a difference?

    Hello

In my opinion you shouldn't t buy any bars of memory without name because for the most part the performance of the memory are not good.
You should always use the modules of memory recommended by Toshiba.
Kingston memory modules are very nice with good performance.
On the Toshiba site, you will find the taken in charge and compatible.
