  I have a Satellite P10 722. It seems to be ready wireless (it has an LED to show the WLAN activity). I would use an internal Mini-PCI card in it. Ideally, it would be a b/g card.

  Anyone know what model/part number Mini-PCI card will work with this laptop.

  Sorry, but this kind of information can give you just the authorized service partner. I don't know if the P10 722 is ready WLAN but you can check only. In the lower corner of the unit, you will find WiFi coverage. Remove it carefully and check if there are two antenna WLAN (black and white) cables. If so, the device is definitely ready WLAN.

  Contact the Service partner and ask them for you to adapt to your model of laptop. As far as I know, the consultation is free.

  Just for info. One of my friends has P10 with WLAN (802 11b Agere) card.

  I would like to remove the internal hard disk of 60 GB of my satellite P10 804 and replace it with a bigger drive, but cannot find a way to enter in the case of removing the HARD drive.

  To my knowledge, the HARD drive must be placed under the optical dirve.
  To remove the HARD drive, first remove the battery and the optical drive, and then follow the steps below:

  1. remove the four black screws that anchor the shield of aluminum covering the HARD drive and pull it out.
  2. gently pull on the HARD drive the front panel of the computer to disconnect the system board, then pull it out.
  3. remove the four silver screws that attach the HARD drive to the HARD disk case.

  But be careful. If you have no experience ask someone with more experience in these replacements.

  This will not help you the battery icon appears only if the laptop is disconnected from the AC adapter and run only in battery mode.

  I had the same problem in the past and resolved is to install the patches mentioned before installing the audio driver.
  As I remember, audio device marked with exclamation yellow must appear after the KB888111 and KB835221 and portable installation restart a new high definition.
  You must install the audio driver to get rid of yellow exclamation point and to get the sound functionality.

• Satellite A100-338: how to move it or turn off bluetooth

  I have an A100-338 on a platform of vista Home premium 32-bit that supports bluetooth. It has a bluetooth stack, but how do I turn it on or disable bluetooth?

  I went to the toshiba download page and it suggests I have remove the battery and install the new driver called btmon vista and restart. It also States that I should then use the recovery disk to install the Bluetooth stack, see note 2 to read me first note text of new pilot (I might be missing just something here)

  If I use the restore disc according to the manuals provided by toshiba, the laptop HDD a100-338 will be wiped on his first day of purchase. Really, I don't want to do this, but wish to use bluetooth.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Remove the Bluetooth Monitor software. Download the latest v5.10.06 of BT-right here:

  and install it. Make sure that the wireless switch is enabled if you are using Bluetooth built-in.

  Hi Frank,.

  I'm not too sure about the P10, but on my A30 the hadr drive is under the DVD-ROM. It is secured in place by a single screw (accessible from under the laptop), and when it is deleted the DVD-ROM slides just to place revealing the hard drive.

  The hard drive is fixed with 4 screws (2 on each side)

  I have a satellite P10 I bought again. The HARD drive is dead and I need to install a new one. I have all the recovery disks provided with my machine, but not windows XP that was loaded first. How to get it without having to buy new?

  The HARD drive was replaced by the only agent of service Toshiba 9 months ago in London but they say they offer only a 3 month guarente therefore is not willing to pay another £100.00 + I all saved data.

  If you are not able to get Toshiba recovery media install WXP using the facilities of Microsoft CD.

  Have you read the manual of the router?
  Do this if you didn't check the manual and the instructions how to set up the router!

  Regarding the availability of Sat P10 and WLan.
  As far as I know the other Satellite P10 support different hardware specifications, which means that not all P10 have been equipped with the WLan card.
  You should check your device manager if the wireless network adapter is installed.
  If the laptop doesn't support wireless network card then I would recommend using a USB WiFi key which is the simplest solution to prepare the notebook WLan.

  I have a satellite P10 804 and it has a 802. 11B wireless card built (only part no PA3171U-1MPC). It's too slow to stream multimedia from my office.   Yes, surely. You can improve it, but you should not use original toshiba parts. You can enter a Wi - Fi card with the standard of g on ebay for example and install it yourself. the wireless LAN card must be placed on the bottom of your machine behind a cover that is fixed with a screw.

  I suggest, if you plan to buy a new one, take an atheros card because they are affordable, they are stable cards and chipsets quality is very good (send/receive/you connecting to a network) If you can´t do something wrong with an atheros chipset.

  I intend to do a clean reinstall of my Toshiba Satellite P10 series.
  I have the disc that came with the computer, IE.

  Microsoft Works and two disks mark product recovery CD. Is this all I have to do a re-install and what order you use the disc?

  As you can gather, I've not done this before and I wonder if I should consider an expert any advice would be appreciated.

  All you need are the recovery media. Launch the procedure of recovery using CD 1/2. ;)

  Expert installations using mode, you can create your own partition (C), or you can install the OS on already created partition C. recovery CD contains recovery image and this image contains following components:
  1 operating system
  2. all drivers
  3 Toshiba has designed tools and utilities
  4. different software

• Have need for instructions how to open and clean the fans on Satellite P10

  There are two fans under my P10-304, however, the right fan doesn't seem to work and the keyboard rankles enough easily. Even with a cooler, it doesn't help much. I wonder if I could open fans and clean them and also the heat sink? If I can, some instruction please.

  We just cleaned the radiator and fans of our Toshiba Satellite p10 it overheats and turn off, especially when we tried to launch a DVD or new software... so frustrating... The radiator was full of dust was so obviously draconian need a cleaning. Now, we can not log in. The screen remains black and nothing happens except the blue light comes on, the cooling fans stir a bit... but that's all... BIG SCREEN BLACK WHITE FAT... ARGGHHHHhhhh what we do... No matter what your computer gurus help toshiba would be greatly appreciated... NL

  I installed windows XP Professional on my Satellite P10 554.
  I bought it on ebay and the seller said that everything goes well with this laptop and the tests when I turn on the laptop saying the same thing.

  But after installing XP, it does not start!
  It is the boot screen with the blue line that moves. This line moves a little, that it stop and that all the time and nothing happens!
  I tried the same thing with XP home, and windows 2000, but it has the same problem!
  I really need this phone. I hope someone can help me!

  You mean the OS bar which moves while loads the OS. Am I wrong?
  Hmm, if you have tested the laptop with Win XP and W2K then I guess that you have installed the two OS on this laptop and it was possible to install it?
  Am I wrong?

  Sorry to say but if the laptop is unable to load the operating system the hardware would be a malfunction.
  I think you should first check the memory modules, then the HARD drive. Maybe one of the modules does not work correctly or some bad sectors can cause the problem.
