Satellite P10 fan runs continuously

Hello

Since new my laptop fan is running as soon as it is turned on, battery or sector makes no difference and is noisy. I tried the power settings for the Middle mode or silent mode which makes it much better, but the machine turns off after a while which is irritating to say the least.
I had messages on battery bad installed, but healed with auditor of battery and the update of the Bios updated.

Someone has ideas about how to stop the fan and continue to use the laptop without crashing or is - it just the processor runs hot and must constantly the fan to operate?

Makes no difference how many programs are running either.

Hello

The processor produces a lot of heat and the use of the fan is very important.
From time to time, it is important to clean the cooling modules and fans, because dust and debris. Dust and debris could have a bad influence on the circulation of air.
This is why the unit will stop automatically to prevent damage.

I think you should check the cooling modules and clean carefully.
But generally, there are not a lot to do. The fan should run to cool the devices inside the laptop.

  • Fan runs continuously at a higher speed

I have a HP laptop. This problem started a little over a month ago: the fan started to run constantly at high speed and I was afraid that my LT was overheating so I went online to find solutions and the offered was "cleaning". I blow the air frequently, because I have a dog. So without taking it apart, I think it's relatively clean.

After 'cleaning' didn't solve the problem, I have blocked some programs (many) start with the startup of the computer. That worked wonders. Not only the fan seems to 'calm down', but picked up speed and freezing (flash plugin AHHHHH drive) until reduced to a minimum.

Now, he resumed running continuously and at high speed. I went to check and make sure that the start menu had not changed. It seems still good. When I run the Task Manager, it will display an application that is running, but 20 to 30 processes and services from 50 to 60. I have maturities adjust this number if I knew which ones it was safe to stop. I tried Googling some of them, but could not understand what is needed and what is sure to stop and exactly how to do it.

    Any thoughts?

Rather than guess about potential overheating, download a program to monitor material as one of the following conditions:

    SpeedFan

    HWMonitor

    Core Temp

As much as that processes and services 'need' to be executed, you essentially already do the correct thing - searches on the names online.  If there are specific processes or services that you wish to get more information, provide the names and maybe someone here will have some tips (without guarantee).

You can also right click on one during the process in the Manager of tasks and select Properties.  The location of the file (under the general tab) and information on the Details tab can provide clues about what made the process.

I have a new 15 "MacBook Pro retina, I have Aproblem with the fans running constantly. This only seems to happen when the mail is opened. If leaving the app e-mail the fan speed reduces and stops. When I open the application mail in seconds the fan starts to accelerate and run. Close the application and the fan stops. This does not happen with any other open app. All of the suggestions. I have already reset the SMC and LANDAU.

  • The fan runs continuously

I had this problem for a few weeks and I don't know why. The fan on my Dell laptop starts to run as soon as I turn it on and it does not stop. My son cleaned it out to ensure that it is not full of dust, but that has not changed anything. the computer will not even hot and the fan is running. I can't imagine it's good for the life of my computer to have that going on - is this a big deal?

Actaully, it is quite normal to have your CPU fan runs whenever your PC is on. He does not even use a lot of battery, so you shouldn't worry.

  • Satellite R630 - fan runs all the time

    Hello everyone,

I have a Satellite R630, and I'm happy with it. But there is one thing that makes me angry... the fan! It runs ALL the time. I browse a little... the fan works. I work with the office, or something... the fan works. To clarify: the CPU is not used, there is no heavy processes running, and the Notebook\CPU is cool. There is no reason why the fan should work, all the laptops that I had before where calm in the same situations. Of course it is not a problem if it starts working if necessary (a game, looking for a HD video or something). But not without reason!

Someone at - it a solution for this problem? A tool to fix the fan speed\intervals manually, or better: an update of the bios (in the version 1.4 and 1.5 I can choose what I want... the fan did not stop execution). It is also quiet in Linux or any other operating system.

@Toshiba: (!) Please do something. The only solution for me right now is to return the laptop to the store. :-(

    Best regards

    Hello

Hmm... If you have already installed the latest BIOS updates, you should check the cooling of Windows Power management settings. Generally you can switch between different methods of cooling as you can read here:

  • Satellite A660 - fan runs fast

    Hello

Today, I bought a new laptop i7 A660-1FM. I'm pretty happy with it so far except the noise from the fan.
The minimum speed at which it works is 68%, from to 75 and sometimes 90% sometimes.

It never goes below 68% even when nothing is running (sitting on the desktop only).
Is this normal? My top in the previous round of Tosh just fan cuts in and out as needed.
This new machine is much too loud, as I use it most of the time in a quiet room.

I played with all power options, including cooling settings, but makes no difference.
Please help as I really don't want to have to talk to the PC World (the place I bought) I know they'll be totally useful United Nations.

    > Is this normal? My top in the previous round of Tosh just fan cuts in and out as needed.
It depends on the internal temperature.
Please don't compare other portable different with different material specifications.
A660 was equipped with processor with high performance and a 3D graphics chip. These devices create a lot of heat and need to be cooled.

But you can also slightly reduce the activity of fan, change its settings in the Windows 7 power management.

    Check this box:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=41
It s on Vista power management, but it of very similar to Windows 7.
    There are a few options.

  • HP Pavilion g7-2240us Notebook: fan run continuously?

I took my laptop yesterday after he had the replacement hard drive.  I've been setting up since and I noticed that the fan turns off ever.  I don't remember what is the case of the previous two years.         Is it OK?  Here is a way disable manually?   What should I do?

It should run all the time to avoid the accumulation of heat, but not 100%.  Change your profile settings to yield power or Power saver.

I looked at performance monitor and the CPU is a little more than 50%, most of the time.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - cooling fan runs constantly

    Hello

Bought a satellite pro A120 "Intel centrino duo" in January and for the last two weeks, the fan runs continuously. Even when the cold portable OS, it runs complete but even just word processing or done yesterday it runs very hot. I need to access the fan to have a look for dust etc but I couldn't for access!

If anyone knows how that would be great. Either that or somebody can suggest any way to stop the laptop gets so hot. I tried on mode low power - without change, and it also works on different surfaces, but no change.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you
    Dougie Freedman

    Hello Dougie

In my opinion you should not do much and check anything because your laptop is new and under warranty. If something is suspicious to you, please contact your dealer local or much better is to contact directly the authorized services.

Explain the situation and let it check your laptop.

  • Satellite P10 - laptop off suddenly during application

My Satellite P10 has a problem for about 1 month. In many applications (for example games) he died suddenly, without message or similar warning.

Is it possible, that it's getting hot?
It worked without any problems for over a year half!

Could it, that it is only some dirt in the ventilation? And then I clean it myself without any problems?

If I had a PC I just opened and clean. But this is my first laptop and I don't have too much experience with the intereor of it.

    Hello

I normally clean any dust from my A30 on a weekly basis, by blowing through the outlets on the back of the notebook, or using a vacuium domestic cleaner of the hose to the fan intake grills oin the bottom of the unit. This avoids having to remove the heatsink from the CPU that might invalidate your warranty.

I also make sure that the notebook is never directly placed on the carpet or pillows or other soft surfaces because it either block the air inlets or provide a source ready of dust and debris that will be sucked into the unit.

It is a setting in Device Manager to allow cooling for 'maximum performance' or 'Noise Minimum'. The effect of the first is to allow the CPU to run at maximum speed (which may involve fans to their maximum, while the latter will cause the CPU to slow down when it gets too hot, allowing fans to run much more slowly. I think that the post of 'Heaven', associated with a chip fauly on the motherboard that was the fans run continuously.

  • Satellite A110 (PSAB0) running hot after BIOS update

I've updated the BIOS on my Satellite A110 (PSAB0) to the latest version and now the laptop works warm - fan runs continuously and the battery runs out of full of emptiness in a few minutes.

Y at - it a setting or an other update to address this problem or how to restore the old BIOS?
I'm sure that I opted to save the old version during the update, but I can't find it on my laptop.

    Thanks for any help

Have you tried to reset the BIOS to its default settings?

Also try to update the Toshiba Power Saver and common Modules and make sure the power options are on dynamic processor to avoid the CPU to run at full speed all the time.

  • Battery Tecra M11-130 with not power and the fan runs constantly

We are having a problem with the battery on one of our laptops. When left for an hour or two the laptop turns off because the battery is dead. We have mounted a battery new but still only get about 1.5 hours.
In addition, the fan runs continuously. I looked at the PC Healthcheck software which shows as follows:
    * Power *.
    Other costs 14%
    40% of energy consumption system
    Good battery
    * Temperature and fan *.
    CPU temperature 67%
    System internal temperature 56%
    88% fan speed

    I would like suggestions.

    > We have mounted a battery new but still only get about 1.5 hours.

1.5 hours is a common value, you should consider that dough working time depends on its portable use.

Battery needed to dump a lot faster if the CPU would be stressed out a lot in your case, that something could run in the background, lose power CPU performance and the dough.

In addition, you said that the fan runs constantly this could discharge the battery too.
Therefore, it would be interesting to know what process emphasizes the central unit.

Start the Task Manager and check the processes tab. In the CPU column, you can find the process that emphasizes the central unit.

In addition, to change the settings for the CPU performance and cooling of the activities in the options of Win 7 powers that would help to increase the performance of the battery.
