Satellite P300D - 15 c - installation of Windows XP

Hello

Can someone please help me install windows xp to my Satellite P300D - 15 c?
The AHPI option must be changed to a compatible?

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi mate

First of all, I would like to ask if you read some threads here about the installation of Win XP on different notebook series before you posted this new thread?
Through the forum, I see a lot of discussions about this theme!

Generally, there are two ways to install Win XP.
Switching mode AHCI compatible you will not have to install SATA drivers, because the SATA controller would like IDE controller.
The second way is a little complicated. You can leave the SATA AHCI mode, but in this case you must include the SATA drivers!

AFAIK the P300D uses the ATI and AMD chipset and therefore, you might find the SATA driver files in the graphics card driver package.

I've included the SATA drivers using the nLite... is freetool and very well!

    Hi guys!

I was given a 2nd hand Satellite Pro 4300 notebook PC series of my brother. Its shows be quite slugglish (over the start time of 20 minutes). I think I'm a format and a new installation of windows 2000 (windows 98se running sound) may be useful. However, I don't have the original recovery disk, although I own an original copy of Windows 2000 Professional.

Would it not be possible to do a full format and install windows 2000? Or would I meet problems, for example with driver problems, later? I know computers cell phones can be a bit of a nuisance when it comes to facilities OS!

  • Satellite P300D-13N and Installation of XP problems (Sata driver)

    Hello

I have some problems with my XP Downgrade.
I tried to integrate the Intel Storage Manager driver in my XP CD, but unfortunately it did not work.
Probably because I've been incorporating all THE drivers, who were available, not only who should work for my chipset.
Anyway, in one of the threads of this forum, there is a link to [THIS how-to | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm] and I think I found my problem...

[Here: http://s5.directupload.net/images/080904/2eptrpzs.jpg] is a screenshot of my (sorry to make it in German) Device Manager preinstalled Vista.
As you can see, there is no information about the Version of controller.

So my question is, WHAT chipset is built into my laptop, because it is due to the fact that Intel drivers do not work AND there is no information on any Intel-inverter speed, I have no idea, I have to integrate into the XP CD to get my XP Installation working drivers. :(

    Help :(

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all I would also be important to know which laptop Satellite you exactly.
You can add this information please?

What information do you mean exactly?
I guess you need the drivers for your model and these can be found here:

  • Satellite L500-128 - new installation of Windows 7 64 bit

Hello guys. I want to do a few questions

I have windows vista in my laptop and I want to do a clean install with windows 7 64 bit. I noticed the drivers are ok in the site. So here's my questions

    (a) do I have to remove the hidden restore partition or not? (configuration eisa if I remember correct)

    (b) I got 4 dvds with the toshiba recovery disk creator. If I erase each partition in the laptop how to restore my DVD? With a program in Windows or just setting the bios to boot from DVD, then the procedure is automatic? What's the first bootable dvd?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

    Hello

one) of course, you can remove this hidden WinRE partition. If you have installed a new/other OS, this partition is useless.

    (b) you on the right. To restore the Toshiba Recovery disk factory settings you must boot from the disks. The first disc is bootable and you can boot from the installation. This happens automatically, only a few clicks are needed to confirm the installation and to create user accounts, etc.. Pretty easy and all the drivers and tools are installed too! :)

  • Satellite P200 - 1-4 - installation of Windows 7 x 64

    Hello world

I recently bought an opportunity P200 - 1 4 under Windows XP (instead of the Vista OEM marked at the back of the laptop...).
I had no original CD/DVD with this laptop and I am trying to install a Windows7 x 64 edition.
The problem occurs at the beginning of the installation, Windows 7 asking for a CD / DVD drive for the installation (which seems original, since windows7 can start and launch the start of the installation of the HD-DVD player!).
I have not found any post related to this and did not also find a driver for the HD-DVD drive installed on this laptop.

    Any idea?

    concerning

I m bit confused after reading your ad.
Are you using the original installation disc for Microsoft?
Have you used this drive as boot drive (mention of the HD-DVD player is confusing me)?

For a better understanding explains step by step what are you made and what exactly happens.

  • Satellite A300 - after the installation of Windows 7 How do I recover to factory condition?

I recently installed windows 7 on my laptop and now I want to remove and restore my computer to its factory condition.

When I enter the "advanced boot menu" I choose "repair my computer", there is a menu in which I select "fix... something." Then it pops up a message that says there is nothing wrong with my computer and it's where all end.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello!

I think you are trying to restore Vista using the HARD drive recovery option to fix my computer. But note my friend, this option is currently not possible because you have installed another OS. This HARD drive recovery is available on a Vista operating system installed or let s says the version of Vista preinstalled Toshiba.

You can only restore to factory State, if you are using the Toshiba recovery disc. Boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P300D - buzzing noise when serving DVDs or videos

I've recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. Since the upgrade, whenever I have watch a movie or other video on my laptop, there's a hum intermittent all minutes from this last for a second or two and seems also makes video stuttering at the same time.

I tried different programs to play movies, windows media, etc vlc player, and I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest audio drivers, without that there is no improvement in the problem. Happens if I play a movie from a dvd or a video that is stored on the hard drive and the problem also occurs when you play the music.

My laptop is a Satellite P300D, 3 GB of RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate edition

    Any suggestions would be welcome.
    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Have you plugged external speakers to your laptop and you can notice this problem here? Maybe it's a problem of the internal speakers

And how upgrading to Windows 7? Have you used the kit upgrade Toshiba or Microsoft Windows 7 disc?

I never heard on an issue also, so I also recommend the update to the BIOS. You can check from Toshiba Web site for an update.
Before start you the update to ensure that all programs are closed and you are logged on as administrator.

  • Satellite P300D-13 has (PSPDCE) - downgrade to Windows XP SP2 from Prof. - pilot

Hello, first of all, I come from Germany and I hope you understand my problem...

I bought last week it really useful for computer laptop Satellite P300D-13 (PSPDCE) and have now a few huge problems...

I have download all the drivers of P300D Series for Windows XP and also installed the display driver.
My problem is that the sound is not as good as on Vista. He did not get the right sound for me... Is this a driver problem? But I can listen to the sound...

Another problem is that Windows XP found SM Bus controller, but cannot find a driver for it.

I know it was a big mistake not to burn a DVD of VISTA recovery but I have all the files for recovery on a separate disk DVD. If I have the Toshiba recovery software can I make a DVD of recovery with the old files of Vista on Windows XP? If all goes well, there is a solution...

I don't like Vista, it's like a very expansive toy for me. So I decided to install Windows XP Prof. SP2...

I hope someone can help me...

Regarding the noise I suggest you to check the website of conexant for some newer drivers, maybe they could improve the 'sound quality' of your audio output.

The SM-Bus is part of the ATI chipset and install it that you only have to google for "ATI SMBus" that returns thousands of links to driver ATI SM - Bus.
With the recovery it s not so easy because the file structure on the recovery partition is not similar to the image of final recovery on the recovery CD.

I suggest to make a picture of your XP, recover your machine with the recovery of HARD drive, burning media, and then copy the picture from your previous installation of XP on the C: drive. I know it sounds a bit like much work but it s worth. :)

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P300D-130 - activate the AHCI on Windows XP mode

    Hello

I recently bought this laptop and replace Vista by XP to get performance for games.
I've been reading about SATA (AHCI mode) and WinXP and for the installation, I put the Bios on the compatibility.
But now I want to install the AHCI drivers but its almost impossible. So please help me!

    My computer:
    Toshiba Satellite P300D-130 (PSPDCE)
    Chipset: AMD 780G
    hard drive: TOSHIBA MK3252GSX
    Southbridge: ATI SB700
I found a tutorial to install the drivers:
[http://www.tt-hardware.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=11513] (in french) that they use the driver intel, very simple, with intel, why not with amd?

But the big problem is to find the driver: in this forum, I see some post reported the drivers are in the display driver in a folder SBDrv name, but it does not work!

So I did some research on google, ati and amd Web site and I found some drivers and has tested them without any result: still the same message when I try to update the drivers: "the specified location contains no information about your hardware."

Here's a screenshot of my hardware:

Thanks (and sorry for my bad English)

On AMD laptops such as yours, you should display driver.
The display driver contains the SATA driver to a Windows XP installation on a functional level. The driver, you can also find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

If you downloaded the driver you have two options: you can copy the driver on an external floppy drive and load it after booting from the CD with F6 or you build your own installation with nLite disk: [www.nliteos.com]
I did good experiences with nLite. It s a nice and easy to use tool.

  • Satellite P300D Pro and Windows 7 - LCD problem

    Hello

I update my Toshiba Satellite P300D from Vista to Windows 7 Pro and the only problem is when I change rezolution of 1440-900 to 1280-800 or below my screen shrinks
Ye and 1 last thing I have hiden partition recovery, but now I can't start to set Vista.

Anyone know what to do about it?

Have you noticed a few problems with the native resolution of the poster?
It makes sense when you use non-native resolution LCD will be somewhat different.
So if the image is perfect with a native resolution, everything is OK.

If you did own option of recovery installation Win7 will be gone and you will not be able to install HDD recovery again.

Because many know that the SATA drives will not work when installing Windows XP, Windows XP does not have drivers for this type of hard drive.

    Hello

The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
There are a lot of discussions on this subject.

I found these two Toshiba HowTo that describes step by step how to do:

+ How to integrate the AHCI driver during the installation of Windows XP.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm

+ How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP Setup CD.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm

Seems the Satellite A200/S01 PSAF6A-06S01N belongs to the Australian series of Toshiba.
Drivers of this laptop are on the Toshiba on THE page but you can also download the Storage Manager Intel from the page of the European driver Toshiba or Intel page because the hardware is the same.

  • Need help with the installation of Windows XP Home on my Satellite Pro A300-1DZ

    Hi all.

I have a Satellite Pro A300-1DZ system unit, model no PSAG1E-OOFOO4EN (think they are 'o' and not '0', circle with slash through it) with WXP Pro.

I recently contracted a virus inside and as he removed, however it is not good so I want to re - install Windows XP Home edition. I backed up the computer, I have a Windows XP Home SP2 Pro edition disk and I have my product key.
I put the CD/DVD in BIOS to run 1 drive and tells me that I can boot from the CD, I press a button and it loads the CD, select the option where to install windows.

BUT! I can t go further than what windows does not detect the HD said he s not now, or whatever.

My question is this: Please can someone me step by step instructions on how to reinstall XP and a link to all the drivers I need to make it work?

    PLEEASE!

It's simple on my PC, also, please keep in mind, I am best suited for working on cars, I'm not stupid, but my calloused hands search for computers a little more difficult than Motors please not in many computer technical terms.
I myself am the slow education in the dark arts of computers. LOL :)

PS. the laptop has a Vista Basic sticker on it, but it is certainly the XP pro operating system. :)

    Hi jeff

    Here's your solution:
    1. go to bios with F2 when you see the toshiba start screen.
    2. Select the arrow to the left using the "Advanced".
3 press down until you get to "SATA Controller Mode".
4 change, using F7/F8, Chang [AHCI] setting [compatibility].
    5. make sure the CD/DVD drive is the first to start and F10 save and exit. computer restart when you are prompted to "press any key" press a button and hey presto as before windows will start the installation, but this time you won't get windows you said:

Set up did not find Ant hard disks installed on your computer.

Make sure any drive HARD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and any hard disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or Setup program.

implementation cannot continue press f3 to goto hell... uh I mean leaving the installation

And you can continue on your installation of Windows XP Home edition.

Hope I helped many other jeff's in the same boat. XD
