Satellite Pro A10 - Sound crackles and fluctuates
Hello
I have a Toshiba A10 which has a card his SoundMAX. Often during playback of music or other audio sound will sometimes become crisp or oscillate between two fields. I use the latest version of the driver on the Toshiba site and using XP Home SP3.
Thank you
Hello
Have you noticed when running other software it's the bottom?
In your case, I recommend to check the CPU usage while the issue appears.
It would be possible that the sound crackles because the CPU is stressed and overloaded.
You can also install tool called DPC latency checking.
It is a freeware tool that analyzes the capabilities of the system to properly manage the flow of data in real time.
It may help find the cause of interruption in time real audio and video streams.

Satellite Pro A10 - no sound?
Hello
I have a Satellite Pro A10. For some reason, the computer plays no sound whatsoever. This includes CDs, DVDs, windows startup intro, no sounds of online video.
Ideas for basic checks for me please?
Big thank you.Hi, I have the same problem myself! I tried everything but nothing helps, some bitten computer tell me it's a chip that has blown on the main map, I thought it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop than to get it fixed!
a mine for less than a year - the power supply died after a few months - the mouse pad has been temperamental for a few months and now this! good luck with it, if you hear of any cheap magicians who can fix it then let me know!

Satellite Pro A10 PSA15E: NO sound after installing Win XP
Hello world
I had to reinstall Win XP Home - which went well, however - now there is no sound and it says no audio device is installed. I tried to install the audio drivers on the Toshiba CD but they go as far as unpacking but then say "not installed" and Setup stops.
I went to www. support. Toshiba.com and follow the menu to identify which drivers to download? but there are several possibilities for the

Satellite Pro A10: No sound after upgrade to Windows XP Home SP2
Hello
Just use the recovery disks on my Satellite Pro A10, no problem with the sound, and then upgraded to XP Home with SP2, no noise.
What I've read elsewhere, this is a problem and there seems to be an answer. I spent hours looking for drivers updated without success.
I have also contacted Toshiba support, after blow and blow that they reported the following driver, 5.12.01.3542, which is the same one that I have already installed and does not work.
Certainly there must be something out there that works.
Ant.
Install the driver of his most recent available FRO this sound chip and perform all the Windows updates available on the Microsoft page!
Update just the BONES together!

Satellite Pro A10 display and DVD issues
I have a Satellite Pro A10 about 2 1/2 years and have never had a problem with him, but the other day when I tried to watch a DVD, look at a program (InterActual Player) opened as usual and then a few more seconds later the display will change in very low resolution (something like 14 colors, almost a negative and all image was massive Although I don't remember the actual numbers) and he said that I had to reboot in order to return things to normal. I tried the same DVD in Windows Media Player, as well as to try other DVDs and initially that the DVD would play in Media Player but not Interactual but now the same thing happens any DVD or player that I use.
Also, I went on the computer this morning and got a message saying that the battery is low (although it was because I had not plugged the computer again, nothing to do with the last errors) and the computer is in standby. I plugged in the computer and you press the power button to wake the screen is very dark but visibly pixelated (I think that's the word, he had visible points, as if someone were holding a magnifying glass up to her) and got very slowly brighter until there has been a series of narrow bright stripes, like a giant pixel or a tv test screen.
This could be a problem with the display drivers (even though I tried to update and we found since I always see a message 'Cannot find the requested string' by the icon for display in the control panel), the screen itself, or something else entirely?Sorry it's so long, but I thought it is best to include all the details in case it has been important. I hope someone can help!
Hello Nicola
As you know on this path is not easy to say what may be the problem. In my opinion, it is important to see what is happening exactly. I assume that your problem is not caused by the display driver. Try to properly test and notice where the screen is very dark.
If this problem is repeated again and again that I recommend you backup your data and reinstall the unit with recovery media. On this path of unity will be factory configured and you can see if the problem still occurs. If so, it may be just caused by a malfunction of the equipment.
Good luck!

Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, Windows XP Service Pack 2
Hello world
"I have a ' Toshiba Satellite Pro A10: P4 - M 2.2 GHz/XP Pro/15" TFT/40 GB / 768 MB.
I have installed Windows XP Service pack 2 in my book.
After the update to Windows XP SP2, the only way to start my computer after putting in "sleep mode" or "hibernation mode" is witch power off and then start up.
I reinstalled "Toshiba Power Saver", but nothing came of it.What can I do about it?
Kind regards
KrasteffObviously the Service Pack 2 does not match current preinstalled saver.
First installation, you have is to wait for an updated version of Toshiba Power Saver, which is XP Service Pack 2 tested. But so far, you have no "Standby" or "hibernate".
Installation of the second. If you need to "Standby" or "Hibernate" feature, uninstall Service Pack 2 and wait until there is a solution to the problem of energy saving.
The two sounds is not perfect, but I think the second installation is the best way. Toshiba will surely bring a new Service Pack 2 tested Power Saver version.
Good bye

Test media check out cable - Satellite Pro A10
Hello
If anyone can help me, I would be most gratefull.
I just installed a Western hardrive digital 120 gig on a toshiba laptop Satellite Pro A10 on XP. at first start it comes up with this media test failure check cable. It takes time to boot into windows, then the sound of windows appears about 10 seconds after office charge up. any help on this?
Also the DVD rom drive does not read DVD only CD.
Model DVD is SD-R2412
And y at - it anyway tke that windows loads faster and it should install the driver sound max or the Realtek AC.
Can someone let me know ASAP thanks syclonus.
If you order the boot priority and start first of all of the HARD drive you will get this error more.
Then will the BIOS with the ESC key and change it.Did you test different DVD in the drive? I think it might be a hardware problem. For a long time, I had a similar problem, my drive wrote DVD CD only.
There is a lot of advice how to make Windows faster. I can give you the same examples: defragment your HARD disk, check to see how many programs is in the msconfig startup folder. Disable or remove any programs you don't need.
In addition, you can disable all services that you don't need (run > services.msc). Make sure what you do, but I always disable updates automatic, Security Center, time Windows, help and support, themes and so far away.
Clean the registry. To do this, I always use the CCleaner tool. A very good tool and it s freeware.
And if make you faster Windows startup sound comes perhaps at the right time. All the drivers, that you can get on the Toshiba site. It of not necessary to install one or several sound card drivers.

Satellite Pro A10 - Win 7 with WLan PA3171U-1MPC
Hello
I have a Satellite Pro A10 with a PA3171U-1MPC Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card, 160 GB HARD drive and 1 GB of RAM, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 for my son.
He worked in XP before.
States of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:
"Before installing Windows 7, go to the device manufacturer's Web site to download the latest driver for this device.
After I installed Windows 7, install the sound driver. »Does anyone know if there is a driver (Windows 7) or a WinXP driver will do the job?
If Yes, where can I download a (my XP image has been corrupted, I'll do a new installation).Thank you very much
SteveHello
Firstly by Satellite Pro A10 is not Win 7 supported and therefore, you will find not all Toshiba drivers for this model of laptop. The unit is just too old.
I put t know if Win XP WLan driver compatible with Win 7. I think that it s is not compatible. Driver Vista may be compatible with Win 7, but not Win XP driver.
In the worst case, you will need to use an external USB WLan dongle to get wifi on this laptop.

What are the specifications of the Satellite Pro A10
OK this question isn't quite as noob as it sounds, well not quite...
The question is, I look at a Satellite Pro A10 for a friend, and he seems to have no Modem connection or wireless, despite the modem plug and the switch at the front for the wireless connection. The machine is second hand, and we see that there was only a software modem of Toshiba used but it seems to have disappeared. None of the devices appear in Device Manager or anywhere else. Before starting the assumption that they are faulty is there anywhere on the Web from Toshiba site where I can put the serial number and look at the specifications of the machine when it was purchased (as you can with a Dell :)). It is an old machine and If the wireless has been upgraded optional and it did not buy so it won't of course work but I need to know.

Satellite Pro A10: DVD rom sd c2612 stopped reading discs completely
OK, I have a Satellite Pro A10, recently it is just stopped reading discs completely! Ive got no idea what wrong with and do not know if you need to replace? I prefer not too.
If anyone has any advice on repairing it I would appreciate it. If not if anyone knows if there any compatible DVD readers writing? also the best place to buy?
Help, please!
Hello
This does not sound well :( I think it could be a hardware problem maybe something wrong with the lens of the drive
Anyway, usually it of not possible to fix these issues or it s not worth repairing, because the costs are too high
Thus, it seems that you need to replace. But be careful. Not all readers are compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings.
I would recommend so contact the ASP in your country to get a compatible drive.But please try this proposal;
Sometimes, the Player cannot read the Middle due to the incorrect registry key.
Remove the upper and lower filter filter in this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}and restart the laptop. Maybe it helps
Good luck

Satellite Pro A10: RTC battery is low or CMOS chesksum unstable
I have a Satellite Pro A10.
When I turn everything first laptop computer on I get RTC battery is low or CMOS checksum is unstable - press F1 to set date/time. When I press F1, I get a beep and it's everything that happens. I'm unable to had to set up or do anything at all with the installation program.
I kept it plugged in for 24 hours, but still the same results. I replaced the CMOS battery with a new. But even once, I get the exact same results.
All that happens when I press F1 and a sound signal. Is this a sign that I have probably a problem with the motherboard?
You can access the BIOS and could try to set the default settings, and then save the settings and start again.
If it doesn't, then it must be another reason for this message. My first thought was that this error pops up because the BIOS battery is empty.
Usually such charge as described in your ad should help get rid of this message.
But it seems that there is a more serious problemI m not quite sure what this could be, but the hypothesis that a motherboard could malfunction is not wrong.
I think that a fault of mobo might this causes too.But in my opinion a mobile technician must check to make sure what's wrong.

Satellite Pro A10 - CD/DVD drive - updated?
I have an A10 and a few remnants of the A15 which I cannibalise the parts.
The A10 has DVD playback only, while the A15 motorway had features of reading / writing DVD.Desperately the A10 BIOS does not recognize the A15 CD/DVD drive.
Anyone know if it is possible to obtain this recognition - could I swap chips BIOS with the A15 for example? This machine is my toy and I have it running with a Pentium 4 M 2.4 GHz and 1 GB of ram (frustrating it does not accept the sticks of 1 GB!).
It's a gift so if I break, well I'll be sad - but not heart broken...
Hello
You can only use the BIOS that came out for the Satellite Pro A10 series and which is available on the Toshiba page. But why you n t use a CD/DVD drive that is compatible with the model Satellite Pro A10?
The manual provides details on supported devices.
I found the user manual [here: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20090121085356.zip]On page 4-7 you will find info on the STRANGE devices supported by Pro A10
