Satellite Pro A500 - Hibernate reboot issue in Windows 7

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A500. Currently, when I make a stop > Hibernate, on subsequent powerup, it starts Windows from scratch rather than doing a reboot! It seems as if he writes restart information the disk at shutdown, but it does not read the reboot!

A SNA find anything wrong, but obviously something is wrong with the part start/restart of the operating system (Windows7 in this case). What is wrong / missing?

Please don't get me wrong, but problem described is somewhat confusing to me.
What do you mean with it starts Windows from scratch rather than do a restart? I don't know how to understand it.

Are you using the original image of recovery or the own version of Win7?

    Hello

Have a look here in this How To doc:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

It would allow you to know which device you have and then you could find compatible drivers

I can tell you that in many cases drivers released for other series of laptop would be too much work. You can test the drivers released for Satellite C850 (not Pro) series

Try it please use the FN + F4 key combination. If everything works, you should see the small window in the middle of the screen with option offered hibernation.

By the way: is the combination of keys FN + F3 works for the sleep option?

    Hello

Have you tried to install Win 8.1 on the SSD drive using the MBR instead of GPT partition system?

To be honest, I m confused due to the error message; No hard drive found. Click on load a driver to provide a driver for installing mass storage.

As far as I know you don t need to add additional drivers try to install Win 8.1.
The system already contains the basic SATA drivers.

So I guess there must be a problem between the Win 8.1 and the SSD drive or SSD partitions.

As mentioned, try to remove the partitions and create a MBR partition then try to install the Win 8.1
    Also try MSC mode.

How is it that a laptop that isn't so old or so cheap does not have to be compatible with Windows 10?

I guess that in this forum from a user to anyone will be able to answer this question, but from my point of view of a few each notebook / computer manufacturer must decide which models would get additional software support...
Toshiba released still many laptop models in a short period of time, and in my opinion that it is not easy to provide support for all series laptop... so somewhere it is necessary to make a clear cut...

But you can still install Windows 10 laptop and I am sure that the system will work perfectly, but probably some portable devices is not available due to lack of software...

    Hello to all here.
I have a problem with my laptop. My laptop is a Satellite Pro M40.

When I turn on my laptop, I found the backlight won't come... the screen will stay dark until it has fully loaded into Windows. I've checked all my food, and there all fine options. Even if I can get the Bios screen its impossible to read the txt because without backlight. I tried to hold the Fn & F7... joy of Noy.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Richard

    Hello Richard

I didn't see anything like that before and I'm a bit confused why you can't see the BIOS settings, but running the OS. Use of the FN + F7 key combination won't help because this option only works on Windows and not on the level of the BACK.

If possible try to plug the external monitor and test again. In any case I put t think you can fix it yourself. Try please contact Toshiba authorized partner in your country. Explain the situation and see what they say.

If you discover that something please let us know. It will be really interesting to know why this happen.

    It is said:
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your windowsinstallation drive and restart your computer.
    2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".
    3. click on 'Repair yourconputer.'

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Oh I forgot to tell my computer toshiba laptop satellite pro u400
It came with windows vista preinstalled

    Hello

I think it is just a software problem (Boot Manager).
    Try to repair the operating system by using HARD disk recovery;
    Press F8 why portable power.
Then choose fix my computer, then choose disk HARD recovery.

If this is not possible, order the disk recovery from here:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Then, you will be able to reinstall the OS using the recovery disk

  • Satellite PRO A200-1 s 1 with Windows 7 x 32. Touchpad does not work

    Hello world
I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro A200-1 s 1, recovered all the drivers on the Toshiba site, everything works fine (less than the webcam that doesn't work even with the previous s.o. XP or Vista...). But my Touchpad does not work... No Fn + F9, no drivers, nothing works. And in my control, Manager of Panel devices seem to be going well.
    Any suggestion?

    Hello

You reinstall the driver for the touchpad?
    Check it!

Also check if the option disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected is not checked. That are in the control panel-> mouse-> device settings

  • Satellite Pro A120 - can I upgrade to Windows 7?

I have a Satellite Pro A120 (model PSAC1A-045005 - purchased in Australia) I want to upgrade to Windows 7, XP
The Toshiba Australia website says it is not compatible with Windows 7 and the Windows XP upgrade to Windows 7 is not supported.
Searching the Web I found some sites that say they have the drivers on the computer. Only one address is the following:
    http://driver-Toshiba.blogspot.com/2009/12/Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-A120-PSAC1-for.html

No doubt these drivers would be unofficial. They would be reliable or would it cause problems?
I use a wireless router so would be particularly concerned if it caused problems with this

To provide you with accurate answers, someone must have the same model of laptop and test it for you.
To be honest, you will be very happy if someone here will do that for you.

So my advice is: install Win7 and test these drivers only. If something is wrong or you will not be satisfied with the functionality, you can back up the operating system more former and supported when you want.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - recovery disk will reinstall Windows OS on the new HARD drive

Hard drive of my Satellite Pro A300 failed. It has now been replaced. I ordered a recovery disk.
This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

    Hello

Start-up of facilities you have to load the SATA driver. I think that your laptop has a Chipset Mobile Intel® GL960 Express with code CrestlineGM + ICH8-M name.

When WXP facilities charge ICH8 SATA driver. You can find it under http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/stormng-20070827133046.zip

    Please visit http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=35787&tstart=0
