Satellite Pro L870-15F and missing compatibility Windows 10

Hello

I have a portable Satellite Pro L870-15E.

I saw in a compatibility list, that I was sent via Tempra that my laptop is not compatible-10 victory.

How is it that a laptop that isn't so old or so cheap does not have to be compatible with Windows 10?

Concerning

How is it that a laptop that isn't so old or so cheap does not have to be compatible with Windows 10?

I guess that in this forum from a user to anyone will be able to answer this question, but from my point of view of a few each notebook / computer manufacturer must decide which models would get additional software support...
Toshiba released still many laptop models in a short period of time, and in my opinion that it is not easy to provide support for all series laptop... so somewhere it is necessary to make a clear cut...

But you can still install Windows 10 laptop and I am sure that the system will work perfectly, but probably some portable devices is not available due to lack of software...

  • Satellite Pro 4200 drivers and utilities for Windows 2000

    Hello

Recently, I decided to upgrade the OS on my satellite pro 4200 to Windows 2000, it was previously under Windows 98.

After the installation of Win 2000, many components are missing or not working not properly (display, missing utilities, etc.). I couldn't find the Win 2000 drivers in your download section.

Could you please help me?... is there any service pack with all the win 2000 drivers and utilities of this model? Where can I download from?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Littco said, all the drivers are on the Web site.
In addition, check if you can install a driver that was designed for ie Win NT or Win Xp. sometimes, these drivers work on W2k operating system.

  • Satellite Pro R850-15F - freezing randomly and the fan speeds up

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro R850-15F who gave me four years in refurbished condition and so it is quite old.
I have recently installed Windows 10 and things seemed to work very well.

However, last week, I noticed that at least once a day my laptop freezes randomly and immediately the internal fan accelerates, becomes much stronger and a cold air. Whenever this happens, I turned off the laptop and turn it back on it.

After that, it works normally again until the next time it freezes. I don't know anything about computer hardware, but I suspect that it is a problem of series and I wanted to get some advice in case my laptop is close to dying.

If anyone has any help or advice or suggestions to solve the problem, then I would be extremely grateful if you would contact me.

Hope to hear from someone soon,

    Flashback

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. To me, it looks like problem with some background process that as a result of extremely high CPU usage that locks the phone whole.
High CPU usage means more heat in such situation the fan starts to run a lot faster.

Have you noticed this behavior with a specific action or the use of certain applications?

  • Satellite Pro L870 don't stay on the Toshiba logo forever - no start

    Hi all

Does anyone know of a problem that could cause a no boot (a few stays on Toshiba logo forever) followed by starting on the second try almost every time on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L870 (Windows 8)?

    Thanks in advance

The laptop usually performs the POST (power on self-test) while the Toshiba splash screen is visible.
In power in the self-test, the essential components card mother (i.e. RAM) is enabled.

I think the POST should not be spent properly and so the laptop hangs at the Toshiba logo screen.

But unfortunately, I can't say with certainty what part could be affected it could be a RAM problem or a motherboard problem.

  • 'Lost' on Satellite Pro L870 webcam

I bought a SatellitePro L870-171, with factory pre-installed Win 8 64 bit laptop for Christmas gift from my wife.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to get familiar with the functions and utilities, I found the web camera integrated a few days ago, which produced a self-portrait on the screen! More recently, I tried to find the way to access the camera again as my wife will want to try "Skype".

I can't locate or obtain a new screen image - no doubt I have pressed the wrong button screen at any given time have disconnected?

The camera is a USB device. I checked with + Control Panel/Device Manager/imaging devices + and the camera is shown as working properly with his driver as "TOSHIBA Web Camera - HD" - there is no yellow exclamation of warning icon. By clicking on the device and selecting Properties tab indicates the device is working properly. looking at + system devices in Control Panel under USB Controller all seem OK. Looking at + Panel configuration/devices & Printers + does not show a camers. (For some reason, this laptop doesn't have an applciation of camera like on the Win 7 version (don't know why?) when the Toshiba web site is checked.)

I was looking for Panel start with "camera" and all I get is a list of menu small
    -CameraSettingsUIHost.exe
    -ViewScanners & cameras

By clicking on the file EXE does nothing.
It is located in four files when you perform a search in windows for this.
By clicking on "ViewScanners"... "a dialogue window which should display the devices listed, connected and turned on. -There is nothing showing?

Click the Add button and crossed in the following windows, but only four manufacturers of cameras in the list, Dell, Kyocera, Lexmark, Xerox - neither of which is Toshiba.

Can anyone suggest what steps are needed to 'find' the camera again?

    I found on

a file from Toshiba Web Camera Application < tc30463200a.exe=""> , size 86 MB, for Win 7 32 bit to Win 8 64 bit.

    There are hundreds of laptops listed, but not my specific - the only L870 are «...» L870-ST2N01, L870D-BT2N22, L870-ST2NX1, L870-ST2N02, L870-BT2N22, L870D-ST2NX1... »

Should I install this application, although there is was that nothing installed initially?

Thank you in anticipation of the answers.

    Hello

First of all, you said you have a Satellite Pro L870-171 the link you posted above leads to the Toshiba driver page we your laptop is a European series, so you must use the drivers supplied by Toshiba UE driver page.

Your L870 Pro Satellite belongs to the PSKFPE series and the drivers can be found here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

However, I think that the webcam software is already preinstalled on your laptop, but you have looked in no position to webcam that you should not look in Control Panel, or in the Device Manager in you want to start the webcam program.
You must start windows explore and go to all programs-> Toshiba
There you should find the webcam utility.

  • Satellite Pro L870-18R - no boot after upgrade CPU

    Hello

Bought the "SATELLITE PRO L870-18R" alongside a "Intel Core i7-3740QM 2.70 GHz FCPGA988 L3 6 MB 4 Cores CPU 2.70 GHz" to upgrade the processor and get a beautiful machine.

Boots of machine as expected with its stock i3, but white LED will blink once and no post when upgrading the processor is applied.
Is their a bios that will support this CPU, otherwise what is the max processor that toshiba will move to. Little bit discouraged, I can't upgrade.

Is their a bios that will support this CPU

BIOS updates are not released to allow new media of CPU, but the BIOS updates are released to fix possible problems for laptop...

If this is not the case, what is the max processor that toshiba will move to. Little bit discouraged, I can't upgrade.

Still is it that manufacturers of mobile phones do not support updates on own laptops... This means that there is no further information on the possible processors and supported.

However, a new processor usually requires a BIOS and chipsets support... so in case you want to make these updates (of course only at your own risk) then you will need to use a CPU that is supported by the Intel Chipset. But there is no guarantee that this notebook would functions even if you use a processor that would be supported by the chipset...

  • Satellite Pro L870-172 error 003 when retrieving the recovery DVDs

    Hi all

Having a devil of a time with this portable darn. So I bought the recovery dvd. tried to boot from the disk and comes with no OS bootable. Thinking it could be a problem with the optical drive, I created a bootable usb key.

Received the usb key to start

So I goto Toshiba Recovery Wizard
Press Yes to say it will wipe the drive.
    Retrieves the software factory default
In the end, I get an error message

    Error: 003
    Recovery error

Press ok to start the computer

You can see the final screen here.
    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/s/1fq5yk4t9hjhmk9/2014-09-05%20at%2012.38.PNG?DL=0

    Can anyone help plleeaaaseeee.

The only thing I can think is that maybe when I created the USB startup key should I copy then disk2 on the stick as well using xcopy.

I think there are several reasons for the error.
The recovery media or the hard drive is may be defective. Wrong settings of the BIOS, etc...

I recommend you to check once more the Toshiba Recovery bootable disc.
I don t think that there might be a problem with the optical disc drive.
From my point of view, it could be a bad BIOS setting.

The Satellite Pro L870-172 has been pre-installed with the system Win 8.
Please check start secure as well as the UEFI boot mode option in the BIOS.

Generally, in order to be able to boot from different devices to boot, secure boot must be disabled.

  • HyperMemory on Satellite Pro L870 - 18G

Hey, I have a Satellite Pro L870 - 18G with equipped with an AMD Radeon HD card 7670 M. I read up on the specs and see that this specific map using HyperMemory who works with the RAM installed on the laptop. I want to install 16 GB of RAM instead of the standard 4 GB installed and so I'm interested how this will affect my graphics.

According to Toshiba´s description clean it will work this way:
+ 2,048 MB dedicated VRAM. Available graphics memory can be extended with the system memory, with HyperMemory technology: up to 3 823 MB with 4 GB of installed system memory and up to 8 GB of installed system memory 5 871 MB +.

Where can I see if HyperMemory is enabled and I see the amount of memory the graphics card is currently 'give '?

    null

    Hello

If you expand the RAM to 16 GB of RAM, the majority could be shared with the graphics card.
The graphics card driver affects the part of the RAM memory graph automatically, which means that its impossible to change this value manually.

In case more graphics memory is required, the pilot would share this part automatically.

Hi - the touchpad on my Satellite Pro L870 - 18G (Windows 8) has suddenly stopped working (after less than 2 months use of)-which makes the phone rather difficult to use. There is nothing wrong with the driver - according to the Device Manager, but I tried to reinstall when even (did not help).

Maybe the touchpad is disabled. Is there a any reaction when you use the FN + F5 key combination?

  • Satellite Pro P200-14W and WXP - no driver for PC memory controller

I installed Windows XP on the Satellite Pro P200-14W and installed all the drivers I could find on the Web of Toshiba site following the instructions provided.

I always have a controller memory PC that appear in hardware Manager who is not driver related to it.

My main problem however is that at random intervals (sometimes when you pull the power cable) the defects of the screen and turns into a mess of the desktop computer and the computer must be restarted because it does more. I tried several types of graphics drivers, but this does not stop the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you have installed XP on this laptop Vista you must also update the BIOS to the version of Windows XP.
Seems that at this time it s a 5.00Win version of the BIOS.

To get rid of the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, you must install the
Flash Media Driver. This is the driver for your bridge Media Slot. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.

    Hello

Have a look here in this How To doc:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

It would allow you to know which device you have and then you could find compatible drivers

I can tell you that in many cases drivers released for other series of laptop would be too much work. You can test the drivers released for Satellite C850 (not Pro) series

  • Satellite Pro L670-18F - pilots missing after updating BIOS

I have a Satellite Pro L670-18F and I recently updated the BIOS to version 1.5, recommended by the site, but now my internet speed is VERY slow and I have some devices in the Device Manager without drivers related to the bios (from Googling) and so I realized that the bios has been a problem.

Does anyone know this laptop came with to downgrade the BIOS version? Also, if I reinstall windows will I receive a new bios version or will it would not affected?

    Hey,.

Did you download and install the correct version of the BIOS of your laptop? Satellite Pro L670-18F belongs to the series of PSK3FE AFAIK, so have you chosen BIOS for this series of model?

In addition I recommend you load the default settings in the BIOS. Just press F9 key if you are in the BIOS Setup.

If you reinstall Windows, the BIOS will not be affected. BIOS and Windows are different, you will always have the latest version of the even you change your operating system.

  • On Satellite Pro L870-173 keyboard problem

Hi, I am the owner of a laptop from the Satellite Pro L870-173.
By writing an e-mail the keyboard functions has changed.
Some keys have a different meaning, examples

    Space lab = o
    4 = o v4v4
c = the optioo for a secodon display

    What can I do?
    Is originally a default keyboard?
    Do anyone have an idea?

    The system is a 6v4 - bit win8o
The keyboard settings is always the same: German language

    Thank you very much!

    > Do someone has an idea?
    Yes, I have an idea.

    > Is originally a default keyboard?
    I m afraid, Yes.

You can confirm my idea connection external USB keyboard to the laptop.
In case your external keyboard would work correctly, the problem is definitely related to the internal keyboard.

    Hello

I want to say clearly that portable computers technology design is not the same as on the desktop and if you have a good experience with desktop computers, you'll know that upgrading the graphics cards is not so problematic, but on laptops, the situation is very different.

Laptops design and construction doesn't allow such flexibility for upgrades, upgrading the graphics card is not possible.
