  Sorry, but I don t know why this combination. Max RAM on M40 is 2x1GB and I think you're in L650 2x2gb. Right?

  I put t know what L650 you have exactly, but some models can be upgraded up to 8 GB, so it will be better for you to upgrade with a 4 GB of RAM L650. Part number is PA3677U-1M4G.

  By the way: there are different bus clock etc new notebook you should only use modules compatible and faster.

  Hello to all here.
  I have a problem with my laptop. My laptop is a Satellite Pro M40.

  When I turn on my laptop, I found the backlight won't come... the screen will stay dark until it has fully loaded into Windows. I've checked all my food, and there all fine options. Even if I can get the Bios screen its impossible to read the txt because without backlight. I tried to hold the Fn & F7... joy of Noy.

  Someone at - it ideas?

  I didn't see anything like that before and I'm a bit confused why you can't see the BIOS settings, but running the OS. Use of the FN + F7 key combination won't help because this option only works on Windows and not on the level of the BACK.

  Hi I have a satellite pro M40 notebook and tab keys keep showing up, even when I keep on hanging down...
  its only 3 months, this could be a sign that it could break altogether and I have to report it under warranty.

  There are different reasons why you CD/DVD drive doesn t manage burned CDs.
  First all CD or DVD is compatible.

  In my view, Satellite Pro M40 is nice unit for school work, but I agree with you really is 256 MB minimum RAM and I recommend you buy more 256 MB or 512 MB, depending on your budget.

  The compatible RAM modules are:
  PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)
  PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)

  Problem is that this device uses shared memory and that means that RAM will be used also for graphic designers. If there is someone who has a good knowledge of PC that they check all running processes. Many of them are unnecessary and can be disabled. I also noticed that preinstalled Antivir asks (Norton) slow OS quickly. If all units are not connected to the internet I recommend you to remove it.
  By the way: there are many applications of good antivir which works well and don't slow down the operating system currently running.

  The only reason I can think is that the new hard drive is may not be configured correctly for your laptop. I know that some Toshiba drives are supplied as C - salt rather than the more usual master configuration, but these are normally reported as such on the nameplate.

  I just bought a Samsung LCD 226BW screen and my Satellite Pro M40 (PSM46E) makes me crazy. First of all, I could put the display driver in 1080 x 1050, but suddenly dissappeared option.   I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M40 with a CARPET * a DVD UJ - 841S drive. I used my 5 times to change regions, and now I'm stuck on NTSC. I read on this forum (and others) that it is simply not possible to unlock the region once the 5 times have exhausted.

  But believe me; It is not desirable and very risky!
  You may damage the disc and then you can not read or burn CD or DVD media!

  I put t know if it is possible to copy the DVD to the HDD in a simple way. I never did.
  But it of possible to reduce the DVD to the smaller size, then copy it to the HARD drive.
  For this procedure, I used DVD shrink. You can check.
