Satellite Pro P-100-key FN + touchpad errors

When I go to turn off my touchpad (FN + F9), it no longer works. The only way I am able to deactivate/activate my touchpad is to run through the BIOS on reboots. I would like to confirm the reason and finding bugs...

I deleted the Toshiba FN keys that always declined because he had a tendency to freeze and monopolized the use of CPU/RAM while in classes.

Someone had this show before / know how to fix?

Are you running Vista?

I would setup PVAT on the Toshiba site, I think it's the package command FN functions.

I found the FlashCards thing to be in the way as well, so I disabled it. In programs from the Start Menu under the Toshiba folder, you should see a Flashcards utility where you can choose to disable the Popup FN bar but keep the FN feature.

    Hello

I have tried to find the solution to my problem but have not found anything better than to put at the service.

Satellite Pro has 100 Notebook left turned on with lid closed (with adapter sector and battery).
A few hours after I opened it but display was extremely dark, though I could see outlines of window. I tried opening and closing lid - but no effect. So I decided to turn off the laptop. I pressed the power button / stop shortly and hold it down for a long time, but without effect. Later, I removed the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Laptop turns off and now we come to the problem.

I inserted back the battery and plugged the power adapter. Power LED and battery led lit and blue (normal situation, means 'battery' and "connected to the power adapter"). I tried to turn on the laptop. However, pressing and holding the power button / stop are completely without effect. No new led and power led and battery LED change not (constant blue light), no noise, nothing happens.

I also tried to turn on laptop only from power supply and from battery without effect. Also tried to remove 1 of 2 RAM modules. Laptop maintenance for a few hours with adapter disconnected and the battery changed nothing.

    The questions are:
-Could you fact defection "open/closed lid switch" causing this problem? And where can I find this switch? It is not close to display, and it is not a small button.
-What could be the possible solution except to the service?
-What could be the problem except the motherboard?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

To be honest, I think the best way is to bring the laptop to an authorized service provider because it's definitely a hardware malfunction.

I put t know what causes this problem, or what is the reason for this, but a mobile technician can check this. Here he s a forum from user to user and you will not find a technician of laptop here. We can only speculate on hardware issues but not stable.

In my case the ASP guys helped me as soon as possible and I have my phone back to only a few days later. Then contact them and explain the situation. They will tell what to do now.
And here you can find the nearest ASP:

  • How can restore factory settings Satellite Pro L300-100

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-100.
It kept freezing then nothing seamed to work on it. My operating system is windows Vista professional. So I decided that I had to do a full restore from CD.

So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional.
So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

So I now have Windows XP Professional on my computer none on my drives work.
My cd does not work like obv that settings are not on the disk.

Is there anyway way to restore my computer without the disk that I don't have to buy one when the wrong disc was in the first place. Of course, I know that I should have checked the disk, but it is like an accident full and the disc was not correct even in the first place

    Hey Buddy

First of all a few words in that regard:
    > So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional. So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

It was not a mistake or a fault that the Win XP disc with the laptop.
Your laptop computer was preinstalled with Vista BUSINES version and Toshiba portable computers that are preinstalled with Vista BUSINESS get besides a Win XP OS as an option to downgrade!

In addition you didn t receive the Vista BUSINESS recovery disk because the Toshiba laptops with the option of recovery and HARD drive recovery, Toshiba disc creator software that allows you to create an OWN Vista recovery disk.
BUT it can be done if you have not formatted the HARD drive...

You can find lots of information about this recovery disk you manual there are some info and also a reminder has been preinstalled on your system that says; It s is strongly recommended to create a recovery disk.

Well buddy. To cut this story you have just only one solution:
You must buy the drive for recovery from here:

    Hello

Why do you think the motherboard is ok?
Maybe it s a controller keyboard problem
Did you check if the cable is correctly connected?

In my opinion if you are sure that the keyboard is ok 100% the problem to be attached to the motherboard because there is no other party that is placed between the keyboard and the mobo.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro P200 (Fn) keys

    PSPB7C-S030BC

Hello, I recently downgraded my Toshiba Satellite Pro P200 from Vista to Windows XP. Everything works well except the function (Fn) keys to control the screen brightness, volume. Some function as mute but most do nothing when I try to use them. All the installed drivers although Device Manager shows errors or lack nothing.

I tried to install all the drivers for the keyboard, the Fn keys, keyboard shortcuts, and still I can't work at all. Someone was able to get these keys to run after the installation of WinXP or you know what drivers/software I'm missing? These keys can be used in XP or they work only in Vista?

    Thank you.

What you are missing BIOS is designed for Windows XP Home edition. This is the version 5.20. Visit the download page of the Toshiba BIOS under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > support home > update BIOS.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro L20 - Fuction key does not

    Hello

I have a satellite Pro L20 running xp pro. We use at the school, connected to a projector to display on the screen for children to see.

the problem is that we use the Fn + F5 key on the laptop to scroll the screen option (two screens or not) but nothing happens, it seems that it does not meet our request. and the projector read no source found. Some days she turns on automatically, but when it doesn't. We are stuck, I tried to look into the display properties, but nothing here to try n force both screens light up. Help

    Azab

    Hello

Also try switching to the external device settings Intel. You can find it under Advanced display settings. I also recommend you to reinstall the TOSHIBA utilities. I'm not 100% sure but it may be responsible for the function FN + F5.

Also check Toshiba HWSetup under the view tab. Activate LCD + analog RGB option.

    Hello

The blue screen occurs due to the failure of the serious software or hardware failure. You the case looks like a hardware problem. As John said in the first response, it could be the graphics card or something similar.
You guarantee is valid and I really recommend to contact the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country for the control of the machine.
If replacements are needed this should be done for free because of the valid guarantee.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - typed keys missing

We have about 20 laptops, Satellite PRO L20 (model No. PSL2YE-00H00EG3), and all have this problem): keyboard missing from time to time a key is pressed. All keys are affected and the question is very worrying, given that you can have a miss every 20 letters typed.

We have tried to update the BIOS to version 1.5 to version 1.8, but we had no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello

You said that this problem occurs from time to time. In this case, it would be possible that some 3rd applications have a bad influence on this keyboard as described in this announcement.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9494&TSTART=30

You also suggested that you tried to upgrade the BIOS. Did you, or was it just a tent?

    Hello.

On my Satellite Pro L10, the Enter key does not work. I tested it in the BIOS and it works but it does not work in Windows XP. If someone from the software fixes or advice I would be very grateful

    Hello

It's a very strange question, but you should be more specific about this. How did you test the feature key of entry? Is there the same result if you use Notepad or the same conversation programs Office applications? Your device's pre-installed with recovery media?

As much as I know it isn't common Windows problem and it is unclear to me that there is a patch for this problem.

Hi I have a satellite pro M40 notebook and tab keys keep showing up, even when I keep on hanging down...
its only 3 months, this could be a sign that it could break altogether and I have to report it under warranty.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Usually it of possible to remove the simple keys on the keyboard.
If you want to back up the key on the keyboard if Cap you only have to push down the CAP.
Then the CAP must be placed on the keyboard and shouldn't pop off t.
She she s is not possible, then of course, you can try to contact Toshiba service partner in your country to replace the CAP button or the entire keyboard. (I'm not sure about the part by replacing m)

  • Satellite Pro A300 - FN key works only with xp downgrade

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 and downgraded the o/s to XP.

There is a problem with the FN key on the keyboard, it does not work. I don't know if this has something to do with the downgrade xp?

    Any ideas please?

If you have downgraded to Windows XP with the Microsoft disk, you must install the utilities Toshiba and Hotkey Utility.
This is necessary for the FN keys in Windows XP to check for these utilities from Toshiba Web site:

My problem is that the Fn shortcut keys do not work.
    Help, please.

    Hello

The FN keys should work after install Toshiba common Modules.
Depending on your other threads you have not installed the common Modules on this laptop and I assume that this is the reason why don t FN keys work properly.

    The solution is simply.
-Go to the page of the European driver Toshiba
-Choose your laptop computer and downloaded and install the common modules

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Fn keys does not work with Windows Vista

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site ([http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT]).
BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32 contained in this file: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080404121735.zip]

After the installation of the operating system, I installed "Value package" ([http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-20080109135106.zip]) that contains the "utility Flash Cards". In my understanding, the installation of the "value added package" should allow the use of Fn keys.
This doesn't seem to be true or not true.

    Here's what's happening.

-Prior to installation of the 'value-added' package, all Fn keys did not work.
-After installation of the "value added package", if the process of TCrdMain.exe is running, all Fn keys do not work.
-If I remove the startup TCrdMain.exe and I restart the PC, only a few keys Fn function (Fn + ESC, Fn + F1).

There is no way (or I have not found a way) for all keys Fn works.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance,

    mme000

I am not sure, but it may be because of the SP1. I installed Vista Ultimate on A200 and stuff all listed (drivers, tools and utilities) from Toshiba support page.

Contains your Vista DVD facilities SP1 or you install on your own? If you install Vista Ultimate Edition (without SP1) and all the stuff on the Toshiba support site order Instructions of facilities.

  • Re: Satellite Pro C870 - No Wireless, code 43 error

Have two new Satellite Pro C870 where the wireless has been disabled at the start of the second. NETWORK card wireless in the Device Manager has an exclamation point and showed "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

After you perform a restore of the system, as indicated by the support, the question was always there.

Just before sending the two laptops off the coast for repairs I undid a parameter called "quick start" in the bios (otherwise defined by using a utility from Toshiba).

Issue seems to have erased after that.

    Is everything OK?
If this isn't the case, I recommend you to reinstall the OS using HARD drive recovery facility. After that this laptop will again have factory settings and everything should be OK again.
