Satellite R25 Tablet screen - brightness Horizontal gradient - problems

Hi all

I have a strange problem with my screen. When I use two brightness levels lower my screen isn't constantly bright he has degraded landscape. Research on the left side, I have very dark screen, near Middle there is the normal brightness after dark Middle again and in the form of o end/right side is clear.

This anomaly is smarter than on two lower levels of brightness, when I want to extend my battery life.
I was replacing my Windows XP, but without any positive results.

The screen must be replaced, or y at - it another way to fix it?

I'm afraid that it is material. I can't say with certainty that the display is faulty but if bring you the technician can test it with special diagnostics tools.
As you can see fresh OS installation didn't help and he can't be software problem. Sorry, but I don't think there is anything you can do alone to fix. If possible continue to use display with acceptable light level.

    Hello
I own a U840-10V laptop and I have a little problem with my screen brightness from the first day I got it.
The fn keys work correctly. When I press the button Fn + F2 or F3 I see small panel brightness adjustment, but values 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 (except 4) seem to have the same level of brightness (the 4th is darker).

(I had problems with my backlit keyboard as well, but when I reset the defaults in the bios it worked perfect...)

so is that what someone knows how can I fix?

    Which is really strange.
It works correctly when you change the brightness level in the plan directly to settings?

  • Satellite P200D-139 screen with horizontal lines

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and the screen no longer works.
It turns on but the screen is made up of vertical lines, which slowly fade into a black screen.

I tried on an external monitor and it worked fine, (so probably cannot be a defective/motherboard graphics card). So, I thought that it was likely to be the inverter or the screen itself.
After trying a new inverter without success, I bought another second hand screen.

However, the new screen is exactly the same problem with horizontal lines display.
Sometimes, I catch a partial glimpse of a Vista screensaver for a fraction of a second, but then back to black. I m not a technophobe, so any info would be much appreciated.

Please help, as he leads me into the wall!

    > I tried on an external monitor and it worked fine, (so probably cannot be a defective/motherboard graphics card). So, I thought that it was likely to be the inverter or the screen itself.

Right. I think that the problem is related to the display

    > However, the new screen has exactly the same problem with horizontal lines display.
Well, it might be possible that the second screen is faulty, too that if you bought this as part of the second hand then it might be possible that you bought a screen that is not working properly.

What to say; It of difficult to say what you should do next. Buy a new screen and check it again? Well, I think that I would visit the next computer repair store and ask for verification of the display.
I think it's the best solution in your case

  • Satellite L850-1FF - screen brightness hurt returning to record

I am the owner of a Satellite L850-1FF (lots of gfx mem)

Toshiba has enabled keyboard software tool that allows me to set the brightness to help
FN + F2 + F3 to display darker or lighter.
    It works very well.

    BUT.

If I close the lid (so the computer goes into power saving) and reopen the lid, the curriculum vitae of windows - the brightness is at max, or near max. The Fn + F2/F3 does not work. He just openes the view menu of the keys which is no setting - BUT does not work.

Obviously, guessing a bug in Toshiba graphics card, or the keyboard driver adjust brightness tool.

I wish I could restart the tool to see if that helps, but don't have any idea what program exe file it is.

Toshiba - when will fix you this bug?

    I am very angry.
I have to close all programs and restart windows now to make it work again.

    Greetings,
    Johan

I assume that by virtue of being able to save, you mean standby, right?

After waking from stand-by, can you change brightness level using parameters in some diet plan?

It is not easy to say what can be the problem, but if you can change it in Windows power plan but not the keys of F I guess the problem is Toshiba specific tool.

Otherwise, when you set the brightness level in Windows power management, it should not be changed after waking from sleep. That's what confused me.

Can you please change the power management, set the brightness level and test standby? The same thing happens again?

Can someone tell me what Toshiba Utilities, I need to download and install to get this working.

    Thank you

    Hello Laurence

From my experience, you need the Hotkey Utility for display devices. The new version is v2.6.0.000. You can find this tool on the Toshiba site.
Please take a look at this site:

  • Satellite A100-812: screen brightness does not not & screen turns off after a while

Some power management features do not work after a bios update (5.90).
The display brightness can be changed in the power manager, or the top menu system. In the power manager, the cursor can be moved, but the brightness is not set. Toshiba menu system appears to hang on trying to change the brightness with F6 - F7 and won't move the cursor.

In addition, the screen does not turn off after the set amount of minutes in the power manager.

What is going on? How can this be repaired?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Some questions; Why you have updated the BIOS?
Are you sure you used the right BIOS?

In my opinion you shouldn't t to update anything if the laptop works properly!

However, try to access the BIOS, set the default settings and save the settings before exiting the BIOS.
If this does not help, I would pick up the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

    Good bye

According to tender specifications your L855 shipped with WIN7 64-BIT HOME PREMIUM so I put t understand what you did exactly. Why install the other version of the OS?
In any case, I just hope that you created the recovery DVDs until you have deleted the original preinstalled OS.

Have you installed the driver on the right poster? Check it please in Device Manager?

  • Satellite A100 (PSAA9): Win7 + setting screen brightness problem

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on my toshiba A100 (psaa9) machine and I cannot change the screen brightness more.

It's always a maximum brightness. FN key doesn't work, and neigther Control Panel I can change the nvidia manually through the brightness. NVIDIA driver is 7.15.11.7967, which is installed automatically with windows.

I have read suggestions on value-added package to install, but there is no package like that for my model.

How can I solve my problem?
    Thank you

    Hello

You must install VAP and Support of Flash Card Utility for the FN keys works!
Installation of VFR will not help you if you should not install Flash memory card Support utility.

As far as I know, these two tools are not phone specific, so you can choose the VAP and the published Flash card for example utility for Satellite L500!

I did it on my laptop and it worked fine!

    Hi mate

To be honest, I've ever seen something like that
Usually, the FN + F6 and Fn F7 function key should decrease and increase the brightness.
I wonder why it does not work properly.

Maybe it's a question of s an OS so you should recover the unit using the drive HARD recovery option.
Press F8 when the laptop is turned on, and then select Repair my computer and then choose HARD drive recovery.
The operating system would be installed again and you can check the brightness again!

Otherwise, it could be a hardware problem as defective FL inverter...

  • Satellite A55-S306 - screen problems

Satellite A55-S306 screen works, but begins to r-o-l-l and f-l-i-c-k-e-r. I can use an external monitor and it is fine.
    What would be the problem?

Sorry for the (-), but the forum is telling me that the words were more effective.

    Hey,.

If you are using an external monitor and it s very well, it seems that the card driver and graphic display working properly and doesn t cause this problem.

I think the problem is related to the internal LCD display or the cable of the LCD screen.

In my opinion, you should contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can check your laptop with professional diagnostic tools to identify the problem. In addition, they can repair and order original spare parts Toshiba.

I heard a key combination that makes possible the setting screen brightness.
Is this true and what is the key combination?

    Hi Daniel,.

Normal for thie keys Fn + F7 to increase brightness and Fn + F6 to decrease. But the different laptop models use different key combinations, so I would check your user manual to see which ones is correct for your laptop.
