Satellite U300 unable to operate after the Vista upgrade installation

A couple of days, I did a Windows Vista upgrade on my laptop Satellite U300 and since that time, my computer does not work. He tried to self-diagnose this himself, he told me to shut down the computer and restart. I do that and then the! 0xc0190036! 4099/69249 (Security-Licensing-SLC-Component-SKU-Home...) appears with a black background. I tried to launch the product recovery disc but computer wouldn't it.

Can someone offer me some tips?

Kind regards

Barry

Hello

It's very strange
How have you tried to install the operating system recovery disc?

Boot you from the CD and have you followed the instructions on the screen?
Or what is exactly happening?

Usually, the recovery disk must format the whole HARD drive and the laptop to the factory settings.
In addition, the Vista is already activated and it s not necessary to put keys series.

I see in the error message something about safety licenses. I m not very well what this may be, but perhaps could be a problem with activation, who knows?  :|
But as I said above, the Vista on the recovery disk is already enabled.

I recently installed an update of the BIOS for the U300-153 from the Web from Toshiba website.
Has been running Vista Ultimate at the time.

From that moment I could not access my hard drive. Restart the BIOS upgrade, it would hang on to the Vista loading screen. I tried to reinstall Vista Ultimate, but it always freezes at the point "finish installation". Have not tried to install other operationg system.

    Hello!

Weird, but in my opinion, it looks like to what you have tried to install an incorrect BIOS for your laptop.
Are you really sure that you have downloaded the BIOS for Satellite U300 PSU30E?

In addition, I would try to load the default settings in the BIOS. Check it!

  • Spontaneous running after the Vista upgrade

I have a portable dv2000t PC (EQ883AV) that I bought in 2006.  It has a "Vista Capable" sticker on it.

I won't bore everyone with details as to why, but my situation demanded a new installation of Vista Home Premium.

Everything went well except that when my laptop is put into Hibernate it lights up spontaneously after several hours.

I scoured the forums here and google around but you haven't found someone else who has had this problem.

Has anyone ever heard talk about this?

    Thank you

    Bill...

Google-ing a little more and I found an answer to this embarrassing problem.

First, a little more in detail about my specific problem and some problem reports I found there in the ether.

When I'm done using my computer I press the power button that is set to put my computer in hibernation.

Some mornings, I'd come downstairs to find my computer with the BIOS Power-On password 'Password' command prompt is displayed.  Other morning my computer not turn on because the battery was empty.

Others have reported their computers would wake up from standby or hibernate on several occasions, some repeatedly and then to go back to sleep.

So what's happening?  It is all linked to timers.

A program can tell Vista wait awhile and then call executable code to an address that offers the program.  This is an example if you use a program like Microsoft's Outlook email client where you can set a task reminder for a later date and time.  Outlook says Vista wait X number of hours, and then run some Outlook code.  This Outlook code then displays your callback.

But what happens if you put your computer in standby or Hibernate?  Well, before Vista you would get your reminder.  Or maybe your anti-virus would not happen.  Or maybe Windows Update would not be executed.  Vista has changed all that.

When Vista goes to sleep or into hibernation, it first checks to see if there are defined timers to turn off.  If there is, it takes the next set clock turns off and affects an alarm in the hardware platform for this day and time.  At the level of the material it is usually an alarm which belongs to the time clock (RTC) real.  Once sets Vista the RTC alarm it will sleep or standby extended.

When the RTC alarm goes off your system lights up.  Vista continues and is notified of the alarm after having exploded.  Vista checks its list of timer and executes the code associated with the timer when turned off.  When the code is actually running Vista go to sleep after two minutes of inactivity.

My problem has been compounded by the fact that I was using the BIOS Power-On Password.  My computer would sit at the prompt "Enter password" until I fell on it or the battery ran down.

What is the solution?  It's pretty simple.  Click Start, all programs, accessories, command prompt.  Run these two commands in the command prompt window:

    powercfg - setdcvalueindex scheme_current sub_sleep bd3b718a-0680-4d9d-8ab2-e1d2b4ac806d 0

    powercfg - setdcvalueindexGUID_mode scheme_current sub_sleep bd3b718a-0680-4d9d-8ab2-e1d2b4ac806d 0

What do these commands?  You change the setting of the attribute "allow windows automatically wake your computer from sleep on a timer for scheduled tasks and other programs ' (which is honestly what it's called!) in the subgroup of the sleep of your current Windows power plan settings.  The first command applies when you are running on electric power and the second when you run on current continuous (drums).  You can re-enable each attribute at any time by re-running the command change the 0 value at the end to 1 (0 = disable, 1 = turn on).

WARNING: If you disable these settings, then your computer will NEVER wake up from sleep or hibernation to perform scheduled tasks.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A200 - black screen after the BIOS screen

    Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.

My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

    Check this box!

Start-up of the first screen with the F2 and F12 options down is displayed, the screen goes black, then a cursor appears in the upper left corner and flashes once or twice. Then the laptop stops and restarts and goes through the same process again and again.

That's all with the power adapter is plugged in. If disconnected, he goes through the above process and close with no reboot.

Start your laptop and enter the settings of the BIOS (F2). Set to its default value. Restart your computer, and press F8 to access the advanced boot menu.
To start the laptop in safe mode and let us know if it works, try it please.

  • Qosmio F30-127 is unable to read the Vista upgrade disc

    Hi guys,.

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio F30 (127) with the standard front load Mat * a DVD-RAM (model UJ-846) Player.

I have for months without any apparent problem burn a variety of CD DVD & (R/RW) and recently received my expected Vista Express Upgrade DVD which I assume adopts the format DVD RAM.

After the upgrade of the BIOS to v3.4, I successfully installed upgrading startup, but only one of the hard drives (RAID) which has been recognized in my windows session (with the recoil, I would simply have used administrative tools > computer management > disk management) ;-(

I reinstalled XP using the recovery disks provided original in preparation to retry the Vista upgrade a 2nd time to correct the alleged no recorded 2nd hard drive.

However, on the startup of XP, the Vista Upgrade DVD doesn't have to be recognized at startup (i) or (ii) in the case of a Windows session, without a visible change in the drive icon to indicate the usual recognition.

If I try to double click on the drive icon, I get the error message:

"D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.

I have read a number of threads of support which advises: (i) changing some registry keys, which seem to be unnecessary following a procedure of recovering costs of system; (ii) the transfer mode to DMA to PIO on the primary IDE channel in Manager devices, and (iii) the offending disk and IDE/ATAPI controllers Device Manager uninstall followed by a restart of switching. I tried (ii) & (iii) independently several times resulting in Windows Installer automatically the drivers for the hardware newly found followed by a final reboot, but the Enigma DVD persists.

I tried to install the latest drivers for the DVD RAM driver, including vF103 firmware update in the Toshiba download pages, but the status quo remains.

Ideas or current symptoms are swinging more and more towards the likely hardware malfunction?

    Thanks for listening...

For me, it looks like a hardware problem, maybe the lens of the player is not clean or not can not calibrate correctly in the right position

But try first to remove the drive from Device Manager and restart the laptop.
The operating system should recognize what it again automatically. If you want to read from this CD, and then try again.

If she will not change the situation, then I presume that it s a failure of the equipment.

    Hello

you have a post very confused as to what you ae trying to do

you don't have to get windows 7; It's up to you whether you buy it or not

and the upgrade of operating systems is different from the upgrade of the editions in a particular operation systyem

and if you upgrading vista from one edition to another and the installed operating system vista had SP2 and upgrade does not, you uninstall SP2 upgrade then reinstall SP2

  • problems with rv042g after the software upgrade

After the software upgrade it reboot the router on every 45 seconds

I tried this tool from Cisco RV0xxV3_FirmwareRescueUtility_v4.0.0.7 Web site without success, the problem is there, is one way that you can get the router up and running again?

Can I run a TFTP server and download new software, or I ther a FirmwareRescueUtility for rv042g?

    Mogens Demmark

The first firmware comes with RV042G is 4.2.0.03, so the firmware utility rescue v4.0.0.7 would not work.

Given that your will to power cycle automatically RV042G every 45 seconds, and the problem has not disappeared after that you did a reset to factory default, the unit needs a new firmware downloaded. Please, try the following steps.

    1. disconnect the power cable to the unit.

    2. hold the reset (using a paperclip) button, while plugging in the power cable.

3 look at the DIAG LEDS.

    4. release the reset button when you see the DIAG led are flashing.

    5. a flashing DIAG indicates that the unit runs in start mode, and a server tftp on the device is waiting for a picture of fresh firmware to the address 192.168.1.1.

    6. set up your PC with an IP address in the subnet 192.168.1.x, e.g. 192.168.1.100 and specify as default gateway 192.168.1.1.

    7. try to ping the unit with 192.168.1.1, and you should see a response from the unit.

    8. run a program client tftp (with a command line) and push an image good firmware, for example

    TFTP-I 192.168.1.1

  • Satellite L30-113 - no sound after the downgrade from Vista to XP

    Hello to everyone.
I recently bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L30-113
    with vista preintalled.

As many users around the vista of the world seemed very slow for me so I decided to go back to Windows XP Pro.
The problem is that I can't hear any sound in my laptop.
In fact I found some drivers for Realtek controller High definition audio
    but they have nothing did.

I give the floor to toshiba in Greece and they told me that this laptop is designed only for windows vista!
    Can this be true?
    Help, please

    Hello

In my eyes, you have misunderstood something. Of course, that the laptop can handle Windows XP and it should work correctly, but as you say the device was shipped with Vista and so the guys at Toshiba support don't provide any support for WinXP on this laptop.

As far as I know page driver Toshiba also provide drivers for win XP. Therefore, visit European driver of Toshiba page and choose the good laptop-> PSL33 Sat L30-113

You will find a driver 5.10.0.5273 version XP. This should work!

    Have a nice day ;)

  • Satellite L30 - 10Y: error checking after the 2 GB of RAM

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30 - 10Y ^ months ago I walking the RAM 1.5 GB by adding a card of 1 GB of RAM in the 512 MB card provided it worked well.
I also have walking my son Hi-Grade lapto with exactly the same specifications of RAM that worked well also. So I decided to grade until my L30 10Y with another card of the same specification to bring it up to 2 GB as specified by TOSHIBA.

I booted the computer to find Hay presto after the message following the start screen appears * "_the file is possibly corrupted.
The file header checksum does not match the calculated checksum_ "* the computer then froze and I turned it off."

Controls, I did tried two cards into the two slots without change, 1 card in both slots (an empty) works very well. Other card in the two sons of slots (works Fine) the two card slots in my computer (works very well) all three cards and 512 MB card in the configuration of the slots and cards (works fine). The three cards 1 GB in all configerations cards and slots to the error message and other times 1 long beep and 2 short.
Yes, the cards have been installed correctly. Impossible to change something to do with the BIOS, even though it may be accssed. Cannot run dvd player although I can select.

I went back to 1.5 GB and reinstalled all OS the drive recovery Toshiba try all over again the same results. Running windows Vista Edition family Basic, Bios is the last download. RAM is compatible. Cheep Hi-Grade son accepts that all RAM in all Configurations without sentence windows XP operating system.

Can anyone think of anything either, I have not tried, or I just have to go and by a Hi-grade computer?

    Hello

I read your announcement carefully, and it seems that you have checked that everything what is possible
So in my opinion the two ram modules are not compatible set
It's the only plausible explanation for this problem.

    AFAIK the L30 - 10Y needs DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.

Finally the short beeps are coming from the BIOS and it means that the error has been detected.

  • Satellite U300-14Z - no sound after installing WIn7

    Hello!
I have the problem (series Satellite PSU30E) next: laptop computer was Windows XP, who suddenly "fallen" and again once it has not issued (as explained by problem SATA drivers). I installed Windows 7 64 bit, but after installing it turned out that the * Device Manager has no audio device *. I reinstalled the system, is now a Windows7 Ultimate x 86 license.

All options work, but the sound did not always appear. Installing the drivers doesn't help - * OS still does not see a sound card *. What could be the tools to solve the problem?

    Hi whooz,.

Is that what you have already installed the audio driver from Toshiba Web site? As far as I know Satellite U300 supports Windows 7 32 bit then an audio driver should be listed and works because readers are pre-tested by Toshiba.

But it is also important that you install the chipset driver and should be installed first. So start with installing the audio driver.

Also, try to load the default settings in the BIOS.

  • Re: Satellite U300 - 13 k - no sound with Vista

    Hello

    I formatted my psu30e toshiba Satellite u300 - 13 k with a vista 32-bit sp1.
I had installed the driver so I had my local and wireless network as well as vga, but what lack us is the sound.

I downloaded the audio driver off driver downloads, but still not getting whatever it is, no idea why this is happening?

    Hello

Which operating system was installed before?
    Was this Win XP?

If you have installed the Realtek audio driver and if there is no yellow exclamation point in Device Manager then it means that your sound chip was recognized correctly and sound should work.
In your case I recommend that you check the sound options such as mute and volume controls in the Panel-> Control Panel and sound-> Realtek HD audio manager.

    See you soon
