Satellite U505 - S2960 - drive external Supermulti cannot burn

I use Satellite U505 - S2960 and I bought just driver Toshiba external supermulti for burning of jobs.

After I connected the external hard drive, it can read DVD but cannot burn a DVD.
The USB Sleep and Charge page always pop up the same I disable so I just uninstall.

It seems that the problem is not there...
I wonder how can I do my laptop to work with my new external dvd burner that is the same brand...

Either way, I am using Windows 7

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Hello

What exactly is the problem?
Why are you not able to write anything on a DVD? Do you get any error messages?

Sleep function & load allows to recharge USB devices like mobile phones or other devices using the USB port even if the laptop is in sleep mode.

I put t see a link between sleep & charge and external DVD drive

By the way; What burning software do you use? I use Nero. For me the best burning software

Do you need an internal Bluetooth module or an external Bluetooth dongle is also an option? Latter would be less expensive and installation is easier too.

  • Satellite A200-1If - drive external HARD after a while is "unknown device".

    Hello!

I have such a problem: I work with my external case alu Toshiba 3.5 HDD 500 GB and after awhile of copy of the files in the laptop it disappears and appears this luckily device recognized.
Can it be caused by not enough power in the USB port?

THX for any help or the workaround

    Hello

Yes, this may be caused by the fact, there is not enough power provided by the USB port. first of all, note that external USB hard drives 3.5 inches are generally designed to be used with systems of office due to their higher power needs (this is also the reason that many need an external power supply of their own). my suggestion would be to buy a 2.5 inch drive external hard USB is designed to be used with laptops. Another reason that the hard drive may disappear when copying files, is that there may be a problem with the connection of the USB cable between the laptop and the external HARD drive. I suggest to check that both ends are connected properly and not put any pressure on the cables and keep them stable.

I hope this helps you with your question

  • Satellite A660 - optical driver turns off when burning DVD

I have a problem with the optical drive of energy saving options that disables the drive while burning.

I tried all the suggestions mentioned here [http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Satellite-Laptops-A-Series/Optical-drive-automatically-turns-off-due-to-power-saver/td-p/223654], but it does not help.

I start at the burn in Ashampoo Burning Studio free, and he seems to be good until the end. When it starts the process of lead-out the popup of the optical signals Drive Power drive is turned off. It's funny because it is still running at the speed of combustion and it will not stop. The reader becomes unresponsive, even I can't the DVD out. Even, that it disappears from the list of devices.

The only way I thought so far to stop the car and release the DVD is in the shutdown/Hibernate the computer.

Once the dive starts working again the STRANGE Fn-tab functionality started working and I can turn it on/Off/ejection at will.

All the burned DVD - s are not valid, and so far I have not managed to burn a single functional DVD.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A660 - PSAW3E with Win7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Is there a way to fix this? Remove the optical drive power management?

    Hello

To be honest I have never heard of this issue, but it appears that the optical drive power management is part of the power of Toshiba configuration utility.
Part of the Toshiba value added package configuration done Toshiba power utility.

What you can try, for testing purposes, to remove the Toshiba added value of the system package, restart your computer and try to burn DVDs again to see if the same problem will occur again.

Toshiba value added package contains several tools such as utility cards flash FN so after his withdrawal, you will not be able to use the FN keys. In any case, after that trial, you can download and install Toshiba value added package again.

I mean, I know what kind of conflict is there, but maybe you should consider it.

  • Satellite L670D Simple Drive external HARD drive question

OS Windows 7 Home. Preload by Toshiba.

Have a Toshiba simpledrive 1 T. When plugged into the USB hardrive are rewritten with shortcuts. Hard drive in Explorer properties shows data from correct volume on the disk, but I don't have access to the drive. Shortcuts anywhere.

Disk formatted with laptop and work very well, but can not eject. Whenever I want to eject the disc, it is being used by another program. Cannot find the program using Xdrive. Once the X drive is off and then turn it back on shortcuts will be displayed again. Do not have the same problem with Xdrive on my PC - OS Win 7 Pro - works fine.

I've updated to Toshiba laptop drivers, Bios etc. Also updated Windows still no go. It must be a problem with laptop, but I seem to not be able to solve it.

    Help will be appreciated.

    Hello

Hmm, try connecting the HARD drive to the computer before booting the operating system Win.
Also, check if the software Xdrive isn't blocked by any other security software (antivirus, firewall tool, etc.).
I also recommend checking the power management of the Win 7 on your laptop. Check if the USP ports are not configured to save energy.

    It doesn't sound good.
I had a similar problem of combustion and the end of the story, I replaced the drive ;(
However, try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then again to restart the operating system should recognize the device again.
Then you could check if it able to burn the DVD s s.
I think you should also try burning different DVD media.

I have visited many work sites and the reader, and especially the calibration lens malfunction could be responsible for burning problems.
This could be a worst case and in this case, the replacement is necessary.

  • Cannot pair phone NOKIA N78 / Satellite U505 Service detection failed

After you run the wizard of BT, it detects the phone, but when the pairing is requested a * _ {color: #ff0000} error "failure of detection of Service {color} _ *" is always displayed.

Pair phone to other devices such as headphones and a laptop ACER Vista successfully.

Toshiba satellite environment is as follows:

Satellite U505, installed the software factory, running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, battery BT reports itself as version 7.00

Ideas, sought after and some forums suggest to raise the security level, unsuccessfully, that and all the stuff in my bag (she holds a certain number).

So my Iphone wife´s is all also detected but unable to pair as well. Suggestions please

    :-(

Strange. I have European Satellite U500 and I can connect my LG phone successfully.

Phone is detected automatically and the phone asked me to confirm the PIN. The PIN was shown on the screen of the computer laptop too. These two numbers are the same. I confirmed the PIN on the phone and the devices are automatically connected.
After it, I've transferred all saved photos from the phone to the Satellite U500.

I put t really understand what you're doing wrong. Open the help file for battery Toshiba BT if it pleases you and check if you can find help there.

  • Satellite A300 - cannot burn DVDs dual layer

Hi, I bought my laptop 10 months ago.

Since then I ve been burning a disc or two every now and then, no intense use of the driver.

Last week I tried to burn a DVD double layer, my driver seems not to be able to burn a. I used BurnXP free burning software that supports double layer and when he finished the first layer of the program collapsed in response, I have tried 2-3 disk, none worked.
Then I tried the latest version of Nero, everything seemed smooth (it burned down two layers) up until the finished burning process and then I got an error message that the procedure has failed.

I have tried different brands of disc 'TDK' 'Philips' "In extenso" or something. None worked.
I tried a Philips disc on my desktop drive and it it burned very well.
-Should I head to Toshiba service?
-Are there a driver/firmware to fix my problem?

PS: I tried to update firmware but can't find a firmware for my drive.
I have the ' matsita DVD-RAM uj-850 s and I used the right type of DVD discs--
    Type in advance.

    > So I tried the latest version of Nero, everything seemed smooth (it burned down two layers) up until the finished burning process and then I got an error message that the procedure has failed.
You have received this message, but have you checked the DVD DL after that?
Perhaps the data has been burned correctly?

I got a lot of time, the message that the burning procedure was not successful, but I then tested the disc and it was legible.

AFAIK that should the user manual contains also some info on drive tested and compatible.
Maybe you should use the DVD DL recommended in this user's manual.

But of course this could be also a material IRREGULAR deadlines.
In this case, you must request the ASP for the test and check!
