Scan and repair disk stuck on 27%

Yes I've seen questions on this subject, but it's a little different.

I have a laptop HP Envy m6 on Windows 8. He told me before the update to 8.1, I install the updates of Windows 8 remaining. Tried to install, but I get 8000ffff error code. I went in cmd and do the chkdsk command and restarted my laptop. It gets stuck on 27% when it is scanning and repair. Skip the process works, but it just ends up being a black screen instead of take me to the login screen. I tried the Safe Mode with network and still the same problem. All the patches?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you are facing problems with your computer of Windows 8 is it stuck at 27% when scanning and the repair process.

This could occur due to system conflicts.

I suggest you refer to the suggestions provided by Rajesh Govind replied on 21 March 2013 and check if this is useful.

I really think that Microsoft had to do something about this problem of emergency, my computer is frozen for a day (24 hours) and I had to force close down. Because who knows how long it will continue to be like this, I can't let go a week, which is not an option (not knowing NOT if it still works on something, or he is in a State of limbo forever stuck at 27%).

It is a question that MANY MANY MANY people have also had, which, for me, looks like a MUST FIX, yet MS does not seem to know how to fix this problem. * SIGH *.

The spirit in us saying why 27%? What is this 27% mark mean at least that much? I'm a power user who better know what is causing it get caught, rather than see just a number I do not know the meaning of.

This is ridiculous and unacceptable! Out a fix for this problem of 27% stuck ASAP thank you!

I know your question is around the age of 6 months, but this might help other people that it happens so that it is happening to me now and I did the research on it, and the most common reason for this is because the computer had a tune-up by done AVG. I don't know if you did but I certainly made (thought I was set, but apparently he screwed up again-.-) but AVG have addressed this problem (although I don't know why they don't just fix it instead of you tell how to). I don't know why Microsoft do not have, but it is the response of AVG: http://kb.avg.com/articles/How_to/Disk-scan-stops-at-27-after-using-AVG-PC-TuneUp

    Hello

No doubt the HARD drive is defective and must be replaced.
You should know that a HARD disk is part no reusable who was going to die sooner or later.

In my case, the HARD drive died twice within 5 years of the use of the laptop.
Now, I m using a SSD drive. I would recommend you replace it with a good SSD drive as this would considerably improve the performance of your laptop.

  • Question about scanning and repair of drive (C :)?

Everyone says that 'analysis and repair disk (c :))' on Windows 8 portable computers means it has not been closed correctly. I have a laptop Asus X501A which of course has Windows 8. When I stopped it, I always stopped him properly, as you're supposed to do. However, earlier this morning, when I logged on what he was doing "scan and repair the disk (c :)). I didn't know what it meant at the time, so I looked on my phone what it meant, and he said it means that always happens due to a bad stop. I thought to myself "How does this affect me? I always turn off my laptop properly. "So I looked for other causes of it, and only it was major changes to a laptop. Since I got this laptop, I did not really have major changes, so I thought it was strange. When you "scan and repair the disk (c :)) ', he got stuck on 35% completed for a long time, until he went to 100% full and restarted my laptop.

Why my laptop have analyze and repair my drive (C :)?

  • Cannot start Acer aspire V3 - 571G "scan and repair drive (E): 27%.

Hello! I have an Acer aspire V3 - 571G. But I have a problem now, when I boot, the screen with the Acer logo appears, with the message: "Analysis and repair Drive (E): 27% Complete" and it never moves from 27 percent. So I unplugged the computer sometimes and sometimes a message asking me to restore to an earlier version. Once I tried to restore, a screen with the Acer logo appears. Before I restarted the computer and had this problem, I downloaded a scanning software from disk on the Ookla Speedtest site, but since he cannot solve all the problems, I downloaded another similar software by AVG Netherlands BV and fixed all the problems. Then they said that I needed to fix something in the Device Manager (3 of my miniports were not work) so I looked on the net for a solution, that I followed and uninstalled all 3 miniports. After the AVG scan, it asked me to restart, which I did later and could not get more in Windows. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I finally solved this problem! After starting, press F9, and then click "restore." Then you will need to be patient and start the computer normally will be! Here it helps other people with this problem too.

  • Windows 7 USB Flash drive - if I click on Scan and difficulty after you insert the disk, it erases my files

Original title: Windows 7 USB/Flash drive problems

In Windows 7, if I plug in my USB drive, the message box appears titled ' do you want to scan and difficulty of removable disk (e :))?»  If I click on Scan and Fix, he deletes my files (or so I thought).  I hope that the files are still there and I have simply can't see because the drive is FAT32 and not NTFS (it says that most of the drive is NOT of free space, so I assume that the files are still there).  What should I do to see / access files?

Note: A reader, I never selected "Scan and repair"... so I can still see/access files.
On the other drive, however, the first time I plugged it on Windows 7, I clicked Scan and Fix and it erased all the files on this drive (I guess).  This of course got me very angry.

    Hi MichaelGramm,

It seems that the file format has been corrupted. You might consider formatting the drive in NTFS file system and check if this solves the problem. For Windows 7, the best choice for hard disks is NTFS.

Note: Make sure that you back up the data before formatting the disk.

See these articles for more information on formatting disks and flash player:

    Caution:

Formatting erases all existing files on a flash drive. If you format a flash disk that has files on it, the files will be deleted.

  • I get startup repair screen when I try to boot my laptop from dell inspirion windows 7, I run the scan and detects any errors. When I ran repair usb key received the error 0x400110020000100A

I get startup repair screen when I try to boot my laptop Dell Inspiron windows 7, I run the scan and detects any errors. So, I tried to use a USB repair for a laptop Dell Latitude Windows 7 pro and I still can't the computer to start. Tried to restore to the factory settings, can not. I have no image, backups, all missing, restore points?

After that I tried to launch the USB repair I got 0x400110020000100A error code and I received error (0x8007027E) indicating the device will not start without a reboot.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not computer illiterate, but am not pro either. Just use them not program them or even understand all languages!

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Dell Inspiron laptop about 4-5 years.

    Running windows 7 Home Edition.

Does not start little matter what I tried.

If I remember correctly, I looked in MS-DOS mode and noticed that it said something like "x: win...» "that seemed strange to me because I thought that it should say"c: victory... "but as I said I am not a computer wiz so if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

I'm about to rip the hair off my head with my laptop. My latitude was blue planned, surprisingly I fixed it (don't ask how, you couldn't tell). Then my dell inspiron would not start right after my dell latitude fell out of my truck and landed on the sidewalk, wanted to kill the person, the screen is broken. I can use it but it is very difficult, see a mosquito net and not perfectly clear, works well. lol someone knows somewhere or that would install a new screen for a reasonable price? I live in the Boston area.

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue. I appreciate your time and effort in resolving this issue.

You can try the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot and repair the following items in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    • A master boot record (MBR)
    • A boot sector
    • A Boot Configuration data (BCD) store

Note: When you are troubleshooting startup issues by using the Windows RE, you should first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If the Startup Repair option does not resolve the problem, or if you must troubleshoot more steps manually, use the Bootrec.exe

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

If the problem persists, proceed to method 2.

    Method 2:

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Tool command prompt open in the mode of the Windows recovery environment .
    2. You will see X:\Sources
    3. Type chkdsk c:\ at the flashing prompt to launch the utility Chkdsk. replace c:\ with the letter of the drive that you want to run the Chkdsk utility. If the hard drive is d:\, then type that instead.
    4. After the "chkdsk c:\. "insert \f command to fix errors on the disk volume or the \r to recover bad sectors and then press ENTER.
    5. Restart the computer once the chkdsk command has completed.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive, it attempts to repair this sector, if all available on which data may be lost.
