Scan on OSX Yosemite 10,10

Hi everyone, Nico here.

I ' t my first post here and English is not my native language, so please be patient :/

So I got my MBP (end 2013) with OS x 10.10 on it.

I also got my HP Deskjet 3050, and HP Officejet 4620 and want to print and scan from my pc with a Wi - Fi connection.

So, I always printed (also with previous OSXs) without problem, I added printers and both worked simply by pressing "Print". Different story with the option "Scan." To scan, I'm going to 'System Preferences'-> 'Printers' and I get two printers, on each of them are two buttons one is 'Print' and the other is "Scan." After having clicked on "Scan", I click on 'Scanner open' and the message I get is (roughly translated): "the software for this device is not installed. The software for this printer is not available at this time. Contact the printer manufacturer to obtain the latest version of the software"and this appears on both printers.

I have no idea where to find and download this software. I already unplugged then replugged the printer. I also connected the Officejet to your pc with the USB cable provided with the printer and it started to download the software... but I interrupted the process by clicking 'Stop' because I was installing the printer via USB instead of the wirless process > _ >... he had the button so I thought that stopping it would cause no problem. So now even if I connect the USB to the pc nothing happens.

I tried many things, but at some point it became too complicated... usually install a simple printer and should not be too complicated, especially on OSX which is usually very simple to use.

So I came here as the last option, please help me guys!

Hi @HKPiax,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you are trying to install and configure your HP Deskjet 3050 HP Officejet 4620 for a wireless connection for your Mac OS X 10.10. I'm happy to help you with this configuration!

I found this driver for your HP Officejet 4620, HP Officejet 4620 series full feature software and drivers, that it is compatible with Mac OS X 10.10.  If you need a guide on how to configure the wireless connection, please consult this guide, set up the printer to a wireless network for the HP Officejet 4620 e-all-in-one HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4620 e-all-in-one printer series.

However, for the HP Deskjet 3050, I recommend this guide, OS X Mavericks v10.9: installing and using the printer on a Mac. Even though it says to Mac OS X 10.9, I'm sure that it is compatible with Mac OS X 10.10. If you need to download the driver manually, please see this website, HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers. As there is no comprehensive software features and driver for this printer for Mac OS X 10.10 and Mac OS X 10.9.

Hope this information clears things up for you and have a great day!

Hi, I want to migrate thousands of images of Aperture library 3.6 to Lightroom and when I double click on Aperture App it won't open. I'm on OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 and I keep the nearly 200 gigabytes of photos on a separate hard drive so I can get more old photos looking at the content of the package and by copying and pasting in a recovery file, but it will be painful and very long. What do you suggest me? I thought that Aperture 3.6 was supposed to open at Yosemite or El Capitan? Thank you bripoppamac44

and when I double click on the App opening, it does not open.

What happens, when you try that? You get an error message? If so, what error?

Opening 3.6 works well with Yosemite 10.10.5.

  • Where to download Safari for OSX Yosemite?

I had trouble with Safari on my desktop Mac (OSX Yosemite) so I uninstalled.

Anyone know where I can download a new installation of Safari 9.0.2 without having to upgrade to El Capitan?

    Thank you

You will need to reinstall OS X. There is no standalone download for Safari.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive

HD recovery start: restart the computer after the ring, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

Repair the hard drive and permissions: at startup, select in the main menu disk utility. Repair hard disk and permissions as follows.

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu.

Reinstall OS X: Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

Note : You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest to use Ethernet if possible because it's three times faster than Wi - Fi and more reliable.

  • HP LaserJet 5100dtn: 5100dtn HP does not print duplex on Mac OSX Yosemite

    Hello

I recently bought a LaserJet 5100dtn. I work with Mac OSX Yosemite (10.10.3). I can't get my OS to recognize the duplex printing option. I have the duplexer attached to my printer, and I know it works because it printed a test page. I have the setting the paper handling > Duplex > WE * however, it keeps printing sided pages.

The problem is maybe that my printer settings have "duplex" grayed out.

I wonder if there is a problem with the printer driver? This printer is no longer manufactured (I bought mine used), then maybe there is a problem with the driver communicates duplex printing features?

Any help you could offer would be great! Thank you in advance!

Just post to say that I found the solution to this video on YouTube:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=3KI6rfQ_PJ4

The slight difference for users of Yosemite (this is an another OSX) is:

Go to Printers & Scanners > click the printer you want to print duplex (in this case LaserJet 5100) > in the main window, click Options & supplies > leOptionsonglet > duplex unit.

If you manually check 'Duplex' then 2-sided will not be grayed out when this printer is selected.

    Problem solved!

  • Selection of the trays to print from after update to OSX Yosemite 10.10

I recently updated my Mac to OSX Yosemite and downloaded and installed the HP software, but now I can't get envelopes to print from a tray that I select.  He should give me the option to select one of the two bins under the impression > menu of manipulation of the paper, but that option is not displayed.  I have to remove the paper and insert the envelopes into Tray1 print.

Hello @MickLead and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see from your post that you experience problems printing of selection.  I'd like to help, but I need to ask you a few questions.

What kind of printer do you use?

Are you connected via a USB cable, or wireless?

Please let me know what you find.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
