  • HP Photosmart C6280: problem scanning using HP Photosmart C6280

All of a sudden my all in one HP printer displays "No. Scan Options" and the HP Solution Center cannot find any HP product installed on my PC, although I am still able to print.

I found the help section relevant on the Web site which shows the topic "no option on HP Photosmart C6280 scan using Vista" but if clicked, no documents appear, the only question asked was useful document? !!

    Hello @CovBoy,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand you can't scan with your HP Photosmart C6280. When you try a scan of your computer that is running the Windows Vista operating system, you get an error message "no scan options".

I see that you were able to find the document for solving the problems, but it does not open for you. Try clicking on the link below and follow the steps listed, the same steps apply:

    Message "No Scan Options"

You are now able to scan or you still get an error message? Let me know I'll watch for your reply.

  • Can not scan using my Photosmart 2610 Scan button on 10.6 Snow Leopard

    Hello

Just to avoid any confusion, is not scanning the computer here (from previewing or HPScanPro). I refer to the scanning using the Scan button on my AiO printer.

HPScanPro has stopped working for me when I installed 10.6.  What I've read, the solution is to scan to Preview.app.

My problem is that when I press scan on the printer and select my computer in the list - and say then that I select "Tiff to Preview" in the list, it always launches HPScanPro which fails.

This feature was important to me because I often have to scan lots of pages one after then the other.   Simply push the button on the scanner, then by changing the page and by pressing on the button again allows me my scan in batches and worry then save all files at once thereafter.  This is a great time saver.

Is there a known workaround solution?

Just to update my original post, it seems that HP has updated the software for the Photosmart 26xx (2610 here) for Mac OS 10.6.  The software is dated 2009-10-21, but I'm sure it wasn't there until not so long ago.  Anyway, analysis of the scan key on the printer works again and several features appear to have been improved.  There is also a widget dashboard for ink level.

I am impressed that HP will continue to improve and upgrade their software for a printer that is no longer supported for some years now.  This printer has been a very good experience.

  • Photosmart C-4440: problem of scanning HP photosmart C-4440

Thanks in advance for the help. I have a Dell Dimension 4600i computer of Windows XP that I try to use with a printer HP Photosmart of A-I-O c-4440. (I have also a Windows 10 other home before someone is tempted to tell me just to get a new rig.) The 4600i and the photosmart otherwise work fine.)

Ok. Down to the problem. After I installed the C-440 first and tried to scan I got the 1706 error code: "error 1706. No source valid cvould lies in the analysis of the product. Windows Installer cannot continue." (Try to use the scan key tells me to scan using my computer).

So I tried a few solutions, online HP scan.msi file download and it would not install on my computer. Tried to do it from the disc (help to explore). Double click on scan.msi and has not worked. A box will open on my computer for about 1/4 of a second.

So I thought that I would try to create a path for scan.msi. Went to C:\program files and created a folder I named scan and drag a copy of scan.msi inside (I copied the HP installation disk).

Then I stopped doing 1706 and started getting the error code 1311: ' file not found Source: C:\Program Files\HP\Scan\Scan.cab.» Ensure that the fike exists and that you can access.

Now here's the weird part. If I retry about 5 times to scan after 1311 error, then try to cancel about 5 times, all of a sudden the printer starts the search and I get a page that gives this file options (pdf is already highlighted) and I can click Scan, then click OK and my document is scanned and I have a copy on my PC.

That HP has finally a fire that fix for this problem? Is the problem of my PC? Thank you.

    Dear rb011,

We have solved the problem.   Working from the support document link that you gave me I've found a partial success with option #2.  At first, it didn't work because I got a message, something like "the feature you are trying to use is on a network" when I tried to scan.

So I went on my C: drive and under HP in Program Files and I created a new folder that I named "Scan."  I then went to the hpdisk file that I created and I copied all files scan.cab and scan.msi (found in the setup in a business case).  What I pasted in 'My' folder "Scan".

Now, I can scan without error messages.  My computer takes some time to "think" before scanning begins (the Green must bar go left right several times while he is "recovering information").  But I'll take that vs error messages.

Intersting that the installation process has not created a folder to scan on my computer.

    Thanks for your help.

  • scanning using a shared printer

Hello, I shared a printer to a network via Airport Extreme.  Nothing wrong with printing, but the problem is that I can't scan using the same printer.

Is there anyway to scan a document using a shared printer? If so, how?

    Thank you.

Scan is owner of all the trademarks so no USB device can provide a universal testing service.

When you say shared printer is it connected via USB... then it may never work.

If the printer has network and connected by ethernet or wireless, it is quite different... you just need the correct printer software.

  • No function of scanning for Photosmart C4280 all one after updating to Mac OS x Lion

I downloaded the update day and new drivers, either, Apple and also the drivers of support.apple.com noted elsewhere in this forum. and the function of the printer worked very well for a usb connection of airport network, but the scan function disappeared. There is no scan.app in the Hewlett-Packard folder and there was before. In theory, the scan function should be networked through the airport like the function of the printer, but I was never able to get there. Now, no function of scanning even with usb directly to the computer. Please, please help. I'm going crazy here.

    Hello

First of all, the printer connected by USB thrugh airport should provide print you only the functionality, it provides no functionality of scan.

As you can find below, only print sharing feature described by specification from Apple:

    http://www.Apple.com/airportexpress/features/printing.html

Then, while the printer directly connected by USB, you should be able browse Iamge Capture.

There should not be any folder Hewlett-Packard, the scan functionality provided through Capture of Image as a complete software not available for operating system features.

Please follow one of the options below to find how to scan using Lion:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01910186

If you are not yet able to scan, install the latest drivers for printer HP package and try to scan the image:

    http://support.Apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.dmg

Please let me know of any questions,

  • Unable to scan using HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515

I'm unable to scan using my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515.   I bought this product about 1.5 years back.  It was working fine then.  Now the printer works, but the scanner gives a not found error "HP Deskjet 2510".  OS: Windows 7 - printer connected via USB

I used the doctor HP Print and scan.  He repeatedly fails to the HP Twain scanning.   I also tried to disable mcafee firewall as suggested.  But without success.

AhalyaHello and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have problems with scanning.  I would try to help.

I would say uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once it is uninstalled, I suggest you put your system in clean boot mode in the configuration of Microsoft.  You can do this by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would like to reinstall the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • When you try to scan, print says "configure the pc to start scan. using mac.

When you try to scan on PIXMA MG5722 I get the message 'set the PC to start scan.  I can scan marketing PC but no printer.  With the help of iMac.  Need to scan documents on the printer using the printer scan button.  How can I fix it?

    Hello.

According to the version of Mac OS x that is on your computer, you may need to scan using the software on your Mac.

If you use OS 10.11, please scan from the Scan IJ utility instead.  This program are in the Canon Utilities folder in Applications.

  • DeskJet 2540: 2540 Deskjet doesn't scan - using Yosemite! 0.10

Bought a printer from "all in one" 2540 yesterday - are unable to scan (Using Yosemite). Printing software uninstalled and reinstalled - no error just won't give any access to a facility to scan. Really angry against all printed HP suggestions and quite happy to return immediately and get a good printer/copier/scanner. Very, very angry that in 2015 stuff still just simply does not work, but they still sell. If there is a solution can someone tell me where it is printed?

    Hey there @Silvester1984!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I see that you are unable to scan.  I would be happy to provide you with some suggestions that may fix the problem.  The first thing I suggest is to test the Capture of IMage scanning.  Image capture is an application that is integrated into the Mac operating system that should allow you to scan.

To open Image Capture, click the spot light (in the shape of magnifying glass on the right)

    Type 'Image Capture '.

It should appear as the first option

    Open Image capture

Once you open the Image Capture, select your scanner from the left column of the window.  The scanner will be probably under "shared".  Once the selected scanner you should have options for the scan on the right side.  If you do not see many options then click on "View details" at the bottom of the window.  Scan using the Image Capture test to see if there is communication between the Mac and the scanner.

If please after back and let me know how it goes

If you have downloaded a software Fax and scan, and it works with vista you would be nice to share this information and the site? Thank you

Sorry, I don't know that anything for free. Maybe others.

There is a free trial with Snappy Fax.

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/reviews/Snappy_Fax_2000/snappyfax.html

Snappy Fax allows you to send and receive faxes from your computer. You can use your scanner to scan documents and then sent a fax to any fax machine, or use the print command other applications to use the virtual fax printer, allowing you to send faxes directly from most Windows applications. In addition, the program also supports faxes sending via the internet, filtering of unwanted faxes and transfer incoming faxes to other fax or e-mail addresses. Additional features include import address book, faxes by email (with zip for images support), OCR, spell checking and much more.

  • HP Color Laserjet 277dw MFP: how to scan using the smaller files, such as JPEG and PDF formats

The scanner automatically saves files as TIF, which are too big for my needs. How can I change this setting to save the files scanned in JPEG or PDF format?

(I scan using only HP Easy Scan of my computer, because my home computer is not on a network, I can't use the scan features Control Panel (scan to e-mail, etc.).)

    Thank you!

This document crosses using HP Easy Start to scan:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04788799

But basically when you save the file, you can select the format.  In the drop down next to Format: select JPEG or any other file format you want.

To set this as a default use the Edit option in presets to create a new or edit and existing preset.
