Scanning from C6180 is no longer possible on network

I use a HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-One with my MacBook Pro Mac OS 10.6.5, connected via USB to an Airport Extreme. I installed the latest drivers of HP printer which appeared under software update a few days ago.

In the past, sweeping has worked successfully on HP Photosmart software group under 10.5 and later on the HP drivers integrated under 10.6 using overview-> Scan-> include network printers.

Since an unknown point in time spent months (OS X update? update the printer driver?) I can no longer connect to the printer to scan documents.

The following HP installation instructions, I can send to add the printer to the printing Panel & fax. It presents itself as "HP Photosmart C6100 series", type "Hello." Selected drivers are "HP Photosmart C6100 series", the URL "dnssd://HP%20Photosmart%20C6100%20series._riousbprint._tcp.local." it displays correctly the levels of ink and warnings as a fold open. Printing seamless, not to mention that you are trying to use the photo paper source tray, which produces only errors.

However, I can connect is the printer to use the scan function. Through an excerpt--> Scan-> include network printers, the C6180 is not listed. When you try to open the print utility via Print Fax & -> Options & Accessories-> other-> open the print utility, the connection attempt fails with the error "couldn't establish connection - HP Photosmart C6100 series is not available for the moment." Make sure the device is turned on and connected, or try again later. Print works still during this time.

When the connection and adding the printer directly via the USB port on my MacBook Pro, scanning works without problem. However, I can not configure the printer via a direct USB connection and then reconnect it to Airport Extreme, as it turns right off line and I have to readd it.

What can be the reason for this? Is this a known bug?

Sorry, but I did not understand how your printer is connected to your Airport Extreme.  If it is USB, scanning does not work.  The USB port only supports printing on airports.

I recommend your printer connected to your router with an Ethernet cable.  If you can not do this, wireless connection.  Or the other of these types of fittings will support printing and scanning.

Connect to your airport one of these ways, and then reset the printing system:

-Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

    No, you cannot scan from computer to the printer. You have to put original on the glass and you can use the HP scanner on computer software to scan and save a document/photo scanned on computer.

    My question: do you have installed the software and driver on your computer yet? You should do this first.

  • Scanning from feeder OfficeJet Pro 8500 has

    I tried to search several times but I can't seem to find anything that addresses this specifically.

    I'm trying to scan multiple pages on my OfficeJet 8500 a on a machine running XP.  I deally I would that they in a single file, but if not possible I can deal with that later.

    However, unlike other scanners XP, I used, there no option to select the tray as the source.  This doesn't seem to work when you try to scan directly from the printer.  Instead, I get a blank image scanned from the glass, and no paper is fed.  Documents (a stack of 9 or more) * are * inserted in the charger as they should be, as much as they are when I copy successfully all the time.

    Please tell me it is possible to do - it seems like a no-brainer.  What I am doing wrong?

    Well, it works now.  Don't know what I did differently, but there you go.

    2. are you able to find the Chess Titans file in this folder "go to Start Menu > all programs > games > and click Games Explorer?

    3. what operating system is installed on the computer?

    Method 1:

    Try to activate the game using Windows features turn on or off.

    See Windows turn on or off features

    a. Click Start.

    b. click Control Panel and click on or off Windows features turn on.

    e. develop games and ensure that Chess Titans is checked and click OK.

    Method 2:

    You can try the System File Checker scan and check if that helps.

    You just buy a new HP Envy23 touchscreen all-in-one PC and then put the CD for my printer HP Photosmart B109n-z existing must only be presented with the option of an "out" when the installer loaded.  Plugged the printer on the PC using a USB cable and was able to print.  I no longer have the program of "Center of Solutions HP" on my new PC however and so cannot run a scan of the PC.  Tried to scan something from the screen of the printer touch but received the message "failed to scan.   • HP Envy 100 - impossible to activate the scan from the printer

    I use an iMac end of 2012 and spin the Mavericks. Envy is connected to my WiFi.

    I was never able to get the urge to turn on a scan from the printer. When I press on the analysis on the printer, I get 3 options and choose 'computer '. I can get some information from introduction to scanning the computer. He says this analysis for computer is activated automatically when the printer is first set up and I need to have installed the HP printing software. This means to me that something has not been properly Setup and I can't work it out. I just updated my software as a result of Mavericks. I regularly print to the printer and am able to activate a scan of my computer.

    I read a few posts on the software uninstallation. If necessary, I don't know what needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled and how I could do that.

    Can anyone help?

    HI - my apologies for the slow response.

    Would it not possible to check to see if "Scan to Computer" is enabled in the utility application from HP?  This application must be in the folder Applications/Hewlett-Packard.

    Once the application opens, you may need to select your device if it is not already selected.  The configuration option "Scan to Computer" should appear at the bottom of the document window (see attachment "Utility HP - selected ENVY").

    Try to open the "Scan to Computer" configuration item and display settings.  Please refer to attachments "utility HP - Scan to computer do not activated" and "Utility HP - compatible computer Scan" for what that might look like if the feature is enabled or disabled.

    Let me know what you see.

    Also - since your connection to the printer on a wireless network, have you tried to move the printer closer to the router or wireless access point wireless?  I'm curious to know if there may be some intermittent network connectivity that is to interrupt the function computer scanning.  I would try to move the printer right next to the wireless router access point / wireless to see if that helps the issue.

    I will continue to work on this issue for you to get the help you need.

    It works this way because they are TWO different operations. There are a few free software around which allows us to merge several PDF files into one file. You should probably do this way. The following link is one of them:

    I recently bought the new HP Photosmart 5510 all in one - and I am not able to scan from my printer to my computer.

    I am however able to scan by launching the scan of the computer. I talked to HP customer earlier this evening and we ran printing + scan doctor and can't find any problems.

    I am running Windows 7-64 bit and that you have installed my wireless printer using the Installation CD supplied with the printer today.

    I could not finish troubleshooting with the technician that I talked to because I had to go to work. The person that I spoke with proposed possibly the full functionality of software downloaded from the hp.com site, which I'm happy to do, but I think that it is useless, because I have the CD of installation here. (The rep that I talked to was very nice, but I prefer not to have to uninstall and reinstall if it is not necessary)

    Because as I mentioned above, everything works perfectly and I am able to scan - but not directly from the printer itself.

    When I try to scan from my printer to my computer an error message appears on the control panel of the printer indicating that: there is no scan destination options of analysis chosen / no..

    However, I can't find anywhere with my HP software where I could add / make sure that the destinations were there. (As I could on my other printers. (IE. By the solution Center)

    This printer does not appear to be a solution center that I could find and the scanner installed with the CD icon doesn't give me any options regarding changing the settings of the parser

    I wonder:

    1. the Hp Photosmart 5510 does not have the capacity to scan from the printer control panel?

    2 OR the CD installation provided with my printer only has the base drivers as the agent of tech support suggested? Which means to scan from my printer I need to download drivers for your hp Web site?

    3. or is the problem because of something else entirely?

    Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

    1. open Control Panel

    2. click on uninstall a program

    3 uninstall the Photosmart 6510 in the list

    4 restart your computer

    5. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    I'm afraid that the specific model, as a former model, only provided woth print drivers and no longer support scanning from Mac OS X 10.5, as you can find below:

  • HP7520 all-in-one: can't scan from HP 7520 printers for iMac using Yosemite 10.10.1

    We have a new iMac that runs on Yosemite 10.10.1.  I try to get analysis of printer function works, but the HP printer window does not register the computer.

    So I downloaded and installed the driver for OS x 10.10 from the HP website.  The window on the 7520 now lists the computer when I click on the scan function, but analysis fails and the window indicates that the computer is not connected.

    The name on the file you downloaded says it's for "Snipers", so I thought that maybe it doesn't work with Yosemite?

    When I opened the printer on the iMac, the scanning settings, it tells me that "enable scan" function does not work and I need to download the latest version of the software of HP.

    I thought I did.

    Is it possible to make this work?

    Thanks to two posts, I could solve this problem.

    I'll re-post the material to make it easier for someone else to follow if they have the same problem. I've marked this as the solution, but the credit goes to those who have posted responses in the thread, not for me.

    "The version of the driver HP - inkjet ink-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.44.dmg is compatible with Yosemite, it's just that the name has not changed.

    As I understand it, you are not able to use the analysis of the it function.

    Can you confirm if you have installed the full package including the HP scanning software. HP Scan is required for the scan of the computer to operate fully.

    (Yes, I had downloaded the site HP.com drivers for the 7520... but anyone who reads should make sure to do this).

    Open HP Scan and try scanning see if it works. (Goto Finders > Applications > Hewlett Packard > HP Scan)

    If you can't find the HP scanning means that the complete package is not installed. You can run the installation package and install the HP Scan.

    at this point, I clicked on the logo of apple (at the top left of the screen) and clicked on this computer, and there is a box to check updates.  When I clicked it, it showed he had a 3.0 update available drive.  (see below) I downloaded that, and the problem was solved!  Whoopie!  Just do not forget that you must download the software from the HP 7520 driver / in addition and make sure you install the "Scan" function Also, you need to, open the HP Hewlett Packard utility, enable the analysis of the computer and you should be able to scan from façade.

    If fails:

    (I never managed to this point because the driver download 3.0 in the box Update Apple to solve my problem, but perhaps others might want to continue with the following steps if they still have problems)

    Allows you to uninstall completely and start again.

    Go to the Hewlett Packard under Applications folder and run the HP uninstaller.

    Go to System Preferences > printers and Scanners > right click on the printer and select Reset Printing System ( Note: if there is another priner listed here will be deleted and you will need to add them)

    Go to disk utility and select the hard disk on which we install > click on check disk and authorization, then repair disk.

    Go to System Preferences > sharing make sure you have the name of the computer

    Run the update of Apple systems to ensure you have the latest version of the software available. (Make sure HP Printer Driver version 3.0 is installed, you can also manually search for it on apple's site)

    Run the installation package and make sure you only select all.

    Now, open utility HP Hewlett-Packard folder, activate analysis to the computer and you should be able to scan from front.

    I have a HP Officejet G85 all-in-one.  HP offers not only drivers or software downloads with Windows 7 support.  They recommend just plug the printer, let Windows 7 recognize it, and the WIA drivers will be installed for the basic functions.  They suggest scan from paint or Windows Fax and Scan.  However, when I try to either, it says that no scanner is connected.  The G85 is recognized as a printer and print very well.  Is there something I need to do to get Windows to detect the scanner as well?  Is it possible that the scanner WIA driver do not settle?  I tried to unplug and plug back in, but still that the printer is detected.  Thanks for any help.
