    Is there a way to schedule the backup to iCloud? I use a software that allows me to monitor text messages my children based on daily backups. However, I disable our WiFi during the night so that the children to standby.

    I wish I had backups completed at a certain time every day. Or at least to understand when backups will happen if I make sure WiFi is turned on.

    All advice is appreciated!

    You cannot schedule backups iCloud. However, you can pretty well assume that they occur every 24 hours so if the backups device today at 06:00, it will most likely around this time tomorrow and the next day, backup etc.. As long as you stay with diligence the time that the iDevice is plugged into the backup, it must occur at the same time every day, give or take.

    I solved the problem by following these steps.

    1 OEM12c > target > all targets > 'remove the motor pump target database '.

    2 OEM12c > target > all targets > systems > "to ensure that the target database system is also removed.

    3 OEM12c > Setup > manage Cloud control > Agents

    -Restart the agent database of the target container

    -It refreshes the C:\oracloud\agent_inst\sysman\emd\target.xml in the target database server where the agent is running

    4. in the server database, make a backup of the C:\oracloud\agent_inst\sysman\emd\target.xml file

    5 edit the file C:\oracloud\agent_inst\sysman\emd\target.xml

    -Remove all the entries that refer to the database of the target container

    -my case the xml file has several entries with different target system names pointing to the same target, weird container base, do not know how this could happen

    -J' removed all the and saved the xml file

    6, OEM12c > Setup > manage Cloud control > Agents

    -yet again, restart the agent database of the target container

    -Add the database to the target return container to oem12c

    8 OEM12c > target > databases

    -wait a few minutes for the target container of database state, to be 'green '.

    -Click on the database of the container link

    -Click availability > Backup & Recovery > scheduled backup...

    !!! It works fine now! I can create the backup job.

  • How to plan the backup archivelog in EM12c for a group

    I am aware that I can schedule a backup of archivelog to a single database, but it is recommended, or indeed only just backs up multiple databases is to consolidate upward under a group and then schedule a backup for that group.

    However, I think that Oracle can be left aside the backup archivelog to a group option. All that I can find a full or incremental backup option. Anyone know if it is possible to backup archivelog planned for a group?

    In addition, on a somewhat independent question;

    If I put in place a system of backup of 1st day of the month and incr full backup for the rest of the month and I have a retention time of 14 days, food will be possible after 15 days?

    You can schedule the backup archivelog as well as the full backup, there is a checkbox to do this, if it is enough for you. If you want to schedule a backup archivelog only you have the ability to create a multitasking job, with one step for each instance: Set rman environment and launch with the controls. That's the way I do my backups one after the other. But of course it is static, you must hardcode the instances in the work. There is no option to make backups only archivelog through em12c, at least not through the GUI.

    Regarding your backup problem:

    The recovery window tells rman to consider as possible, obsolete backups after 14 days. He still however will check that they are really obsolete. Your only full backup will become obsolete until you make a new. However, the incremental backup may become obsolete and deleted. RMAN was able to retrieve the instance with the full backup and the archivelogs, so the oldest incremental backup should be obsolete.

    You can ask rman which files are obsolete and explicitly specify the recovery window:

    RMAN > window recovery obsolete report 15 days;

  • Unable to perform the backup after changing the password for SYS

    Hello everyone, I'm getting the "unable to perform the backup because the database is closed" error after performing a backup scheduled on the database. The database is clearly open, already tried rebooting the database/system, but without success. This is probably related to the very recent change of password for SYS. As we changed it, we were able to run the backup... Can I ren hollow backupset backup RMAN command, but without success with Enterprise Manager.

    Does anyone have an idea? Thank you!

  • As a Time Machine backup, it keeps adding to the size of the backup?

    TM starts the backup and starts suddenly to add to the size of the backup, it will do. This means that no player will never be large enough to accommodate the backup because it keeps growing in size (as each block of data is added, the size of the backup continues expansion of the same amount). I have attached 2 screenshots showing what has happened in the minute to restart the backup. TM is backup on an external WD hard drive via the USB-3 port on my MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, end of 2013). 1.9 TB of data backup - there should not be a problem because the external hard drive has 3 TB of space and has been freshly formatted before being used for the first backup on this drive. As you can see from the screenshots, the backup is much larger than it should be.

    1 minute later screenshot:

    Before this behavior, I have had problems with Time Machine while using another backup drive (a drive LaCie Quadra) with for example, ignored backups, backups landed at calculation time, backups, partially blocked by a backup for more than 36 hours etc., error messages from read-only TM etc... I tried several solutions on this forum and none seem to have corrected these strange behaviors. It felt like I've solved a problem, shortly after another was about to begin.

    I stopped finally try the solutions suggested here in the forums, as well as some external sites such as Pondini and chose to use another drive (HD freshly cleared using disk utility - the WD drive that is currently attached to the MBP). The WD external drive worked well on the Mac Pro in the office, and I have no reason to suspect that this is the problem (I ran some tests after erasing it and there is no error reported).

    Well, the first symptom that something still was wrong was when backing up to disk WD has slowed to a crawl yesterday afternoon, but I left it on overnight. At noon today the backup was still running, but about ⅔ complete (very, very slowly - running data blocks are moving into very small pieces), but I have to bring the MBP to a meeting and everything stop. Then my back and everything by plugging, TM started upward and all seemed well, until I noticed that the backup data was almost 2.5 to. I restarted the MBP. It's once again, I noticed that Time Machine did not work as I expected. The size of the backup continues to expand... I was expecting TM that she had about 250 GB left to save, but as see you from the screenshots it much much smaller than that. I have let it run like that for about 2 hours, hoping that it was just a small mistake, but the HD continues to fill, only 185 GB of space left. Strangely, I can enter TM and see my data.

    Suggestions please? Very much appreciated.

    Stu

    Nobody answered, so I thought I'd share the temporary solution I came up with.

    I started in safe mode, deleted the backup external TM drive I was using and launched a full backup with TM (always in safe mode). I leave TM turn all night and a full backup has been completed. I rebooted, entered TM and restore some files to confirm that I was actually able to restore the backup pieces. Since that time, I did have problems with TM make scheduled backups, with one reading errors etc.

    I will continue to spend some time to know what triggered these questions... since I was able to make a backup in safe mode, this means that I have other avenues to explore.

    I will report back if I find anything.

  • WS 2012 and NAS backup failed to prepare the backup image

    Hello

    I'm trying to back up some of my data to Windows server 2012. I am using LG - 250GL Buffalo NAS.

    I use the scheduled backup option, but it is unable to prepare the backup image, error code is "0x807800C5", event id 517."

    However, if I rename my folder name, and then it creates the folder and with successful backup my data, only problem is that it is said version is not compatible. Once again, if I change the name of the folder, it's OK, but I can't do that everyday manually, everything save automatically at certain time.

    I tried to find a solution, but nothing works.

    Maybe my NAS is a bit too old and is not compatible with the version of 2012.

    What are my options? Should I buy new SIN or is it fixable somehow?

  • automate the backup of the computer while limiting the space used

    Hello
    I would like to help by using the Task Scheduler to automate a "computer backup."  I also use the "back up files" to back up my data files.  I want to use the same destination for two backups drive, but must limit the space used for each utility half the destination drive.  for example, I have a 150 GB C: drive.  the backup destination, F: drive is 500 GB.  I would use 250 for backup of the computer and 250 GB for backup of files.  is there a command in Task Scheduler that will automate the backup of the computer while minimizing space used for 250 GB?  Thank you!

  • Automate the backup of Config

    I'm looking to install a way to backup the configuration of my C370.  Currently, I know how to do it manually via the GUI.  Is it possible to automate this process and it backs up through the CLI?  I was searching through the CLI yesterday, but I couldn't find what would save the config on the command.  I guess if I could find the command that I could set up a job through our Kiwi CatTools to do.  I would like to know if anyone knows how to do this, or if you have found another way to do this effectively.

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hi Mike,.

    There are actually two ways to do this.

    You can save the configuration of the CLI by using the saveconfig command. You can load a configuration file using the loadconfig command. I would like to run these commands first, just so that you can see the process. Basically, you can script something around these commands that could do the job.

    We also have a section of Nice knowledge base that covers this topic as well. The approach is a little differnet but the results are the same.

    How can I schedule or automate the backup of the file of configuration XML from my device?  Where he lives?  How to do a scheduled backup of the configuration of a Windows system file?

    Environment:

    -ESA with AsyncOS 6.x or later.
    -A designated host for the introduction and the storage of backups.

    NOTES:

    Familiarity with the BONES of script and forecasts of the tasks is necessary to understand and implement these tasks safely.  Please understand that many of these concepts are beyond the scope of the IronPort customer support and these sample scripts are certainly not taken in charge.  Although these steps have been successfully tested, this article is mainly for purposes of demonstration and illustration.

    The configuration file dynamically generated during the use of the recording or email of the CLI or GUI configuration tools.  To have an effective backup, it is best to "unmask" passwords, which allows you to place a ground form of passwords for local administrative accounts in the device configuration file.  For this reason, we can not simply copy a flat file "running Setup" of the device.  This method allows us to access the device first, issue a command to dynamically build the current configuration, and either save or mail a copy of this file somewhere remotely, without any intervention from the user.  Once this is done, we can then repeat or schedule this task to occur on a regular basis.

    Quickly and automatically save the configuration with the passwords exposed files:

    (1) generate a SSH key pair to use.  Verify that you can access your device via SSH without having to enter a password.  Details on this operation is provided in article #283.

    (2) create script to connect to the device, save the config and copy (or by mail).  Two simple examples written in BASH:

    Example #1: Saving the configuration to a specific host
    #! / bin/bash
    # This saves the config and then he copies locally via SCP in a directory called backup/config-ironport
    HOSTNAME = test.com
    USER name = admin
    FILENAME = "ssh $USERNAME@$HOSTNAME "saveconfig Yes"|" grep xml | cut f 3 - d "" ' "
    SCP $USERNAME@$HOSTNAME:./configuration/$FILENAME./ironport/config-backups /.

    Example #2: Emailing an email address configuration
    #! / bin/bash
    # This sends the config to MAILDEST
    HOSTNAME = MX.test.com
    USER name = admin
    [email protected] / * /.
    SSH $USERNAME@$HOSTNAME 'mailconfig $MAILDEST Yes.

    NOTE: this similar logic can be applied in any scripting language OS such as VB scripts or batch for Windows.  These scripts are intended as examples only rudimentary.

    (3) use cron or or scheduling tool to start work on a regular basis.  Services like cron or Task Scheduler in Windows are easy tools that can be used to automate simple jobs like that.  For example, the * NIX CRON configuration file follows this format:

    minute (0-59), hour (0-23, 0 = midnight), day (1-31), month (1-12), day of the week (0-6, 0 = Sunday), command

    So a good example to run this script every day at 02:00 would look like:
    00 02 * /location/your_script.sh

    Otherwise, here is another method to automate a backup of the configuration.

    How to do a scheduled backup of the configuration of a Windows system file?

    With the following procedure, you can save the configuration on a regular basis of a Windows system file.

    1 install the emulator of terminal 'PuTTY' under C:\

    2. create a text file with the following line and name it "send_config.txt" and place it under C:\ (Change of [email protected] / * / to the email address you want the configuration file must be sent to)

    mailconfig [email protected] / * /.
    3. create a text file with the following lines and name it "send_config_batch.bat" and place it under C:\
    (Change the "hostname" for the host name can be resolved or IP address of your device and the "password" to your real password for the admin account).

    C:\putty.exe-SSH hostname-l - pw admin and password C:\send_config.txt m
    output

    4. Add "send_config_batch.bat" to the scheduled task window.

    The Configuration file will be sent to the address specified in the "send_config.txt".

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 backup works, but does not appear in the backup and restore control panel

    I have Windows 7 Pro and have had a running backup on a network drive for a couple of years now.  So far it has worked well.

    Recently, my wife asked me to postpone this off-peak hours and I went directly to the Task Scheduler and update annex it.  I also had to modify the scheduled task to wake up my laptop computer to perform the backup.
    Now, after making these changes, I can see the event log that the backup started at time exact (01:00) he succeeded 30 minutes later.  I can also see on my network drive that it saved at the right time and the registry keys indicate the location of the network right.  However, when I go in the backup and restore control panel, he told me to "backup Windows has not been setup" (which previously he would show me the network location and the last backup time and the other at the request of autonomy.)
    I know that backups are still viable can I do a restore to the correct network location and properly, it shows me that I have backups on this drive.  So, why the backup and restore screen is now showing me that no backup copy has been put up any ideas?
    I'm a little worried that this change to the schedule has whacked a key somewhere that is using the backup and restore screen and finally the backups will fail and I don't notice unless I am constantly reviewing the event logs (which, for domestic use, isn't it convenient for me).

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

    Although this type of backup includes your personal files, we recommend that you back up your files regularly using Windows backup so that you can restore files and folders according to individual needs. When you configure a scheduled backup, you can choose if you want to include a system image. This system image only includes the drives required for Windows to run. You can manually create a system image if you want to include additional data drives.

    Important: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
