every time I have change and restart or start my computer it's always back to HD by default "mactintosh. I don't want to hold "command + alt" whenever I start ps, also I have ps as a car starts as soon as my system is restarted or switch.

advice is bliss as always

Thanks in advance.

Make sure that you don't have a permissions problem with writing to the Photoshop Preferences user ID file you.  It seems that your update preferences are not saved.

I treat the full error message to drive work. Because I can't open the items, I can't have preferences. When I call the reader at the start dialog box, he says he uses the 'boot' drive I don't know what it is. I tried to change it to 'C', but it is up to the start. What should do?

Read this post on a similar question:

The shortcut to open items is in the second post:

I think the "Startup disk" means the C: drive.

More information can help: which version of elements, what kind of drive C:, this title, how did you get your drive working (maybe a screenshot)?

the guys in the video are a good guy, but amd cpu is currently not optimal for adobe software. its good you went to intel and the i7 - 4790 k is a good processor.

has not changed orientation with the configuration of drive, here is a table with examples. Disk configuration

This table was written to disk, so using ssd can offer slightly alternative configurations. instead of placing cache db first on the previews/export drive, its ok to leave on the fast ssd with windows/apps/pagefile. the screenshot that show you the scratch disk/Visual sounds great.

    Thank you

They seem to be down now... strange! They are a really savvy group...

PrPro and Photoshop are some MILES away in the use of the arriere-systemes of a computer. Photoshop works on one or multiple images at once... PrPro should work on thousands of images 'live' running with the changes in the on-the-spot via recorded commands (changes & effects) applied to the original media file to create what you see in the program during playback monitor. Similar to Lightroom in the 'non-destructive' type operation. That's why PrPro has a LOT of reading & writing to do, much of it at the same time. He wipes the shit out of discs & connections disc & front side bus, and other data fly around.

So... more on Page of the Tweaker, tests on thousands of real machines of the Editor (when they are up, you can 'join' and download the zip file and test you the machine clean) and some detailed comparisons of the parts of the body on different machines, they have tons of data on how it works in real life compared to the theory.

It is strongly recommended to go to one of the two paths... is a record of say 4/5 * RAID0/5 table of material * for all but the OS & program files... or split to the top of the database cache, scratch files, project, media files and export on several disks as possible, until a drive by article... and use connections of SATA II/III or eSATA II or Thunderbolt for all connections. There are a few things that can help with disks less... read media is virtually unalterable, so it can be sometimes to a USB3 drive or a flash/thumb DRIVE on a port USB3 quick... Sometimes I get a flashdrive high-speed 128 GB PNY that I use for the media. Exports are almost all write-only once again can be a decently fast drive on a port USB3.

They have a list of combinations for those with 2, 3 or 4 disks available, suggested what to put where. Hope they are soon back upward.

  • Scratch disk problems when you try to start CS4

While he was working on a large file in CS4 my scratch disk filled. In preferences, I stupidly changed the drive working on my partition D (backup) and stop Psalm now when I try to restart CS4 I get the following message. "Cannot open file because the file is locked. Use the Properties command in windows Explorer to unlock. "I'm having no luck with that. Any ideas?

  • Photoshop Scratch Disk Error OSX Lion 10.7.3

I got Photoshop CS5 installed on my system for over a year, and it worked fine all this time under Snow Leopard. Now that I've updated for Lion, Photoshop does not open because of these messages:

Cannot open a file because the disk is not available.

Could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is not available.

The disk in question is a 80 GB of a 1 TB internal hard drive partition. If I delete the preferences file (pressing cmd-shift-opt when PS is started) then it starts very well. If I go into preferences and reset to use the scratch disk, then next time I try to open the program I get the same 2 error messages and I have to give up the preferences again.

There is nothing wrong with the disks, I checked the. And anyway, I use this drive work with Photoshop for the last year with no problems. It was only after I switched to Lion that he began to arrive.

I need to take advantage of the increase in performance that offers a scratch disk. Anyone have any ideas on what is happening or how to fix this?

    Chris,

Thank you for responding. I think you're onto something. I looked in the disk utility to see if I could fix the permissions on the volume to zero, as suggested Lundberg, however the option to do so was intoxicated because of this message: ' not available because the selected disc is set on ignore permissions. So I went to the score, shot to the top of the box to get the information and saw that the "Ignore ownership on this Volume" checkbox is unchecked . I checked to see what would happen, and that is always dimmed in disk utility to repair permissions, now Photoshop starts perfectly, even with the scratch partition defined as Photoshop Scratch drive problem.

It's the wrong way to do the correct answer?

Regarding your other suggestions, I was able to go on record to reach the record partnership, and I saw that he said I could read only. I could add my user account and give him permission to read/write through the dialog box get information (I'm afraid Terminal unless I have clear instructions). I want? I also looked in the /volumes folder and there is apparently nothing that it contains, unless folders are hidden I guess. I checked the permissions of my primary drive (boot drive, on which all my applications reside) and they claim that I have read/write privileges. However I'm just viewing it in the box to read the information. is not the right place to see/change? Because all this time the partition scratch claimed also that I have read/write permissions and who was obviously not true, as alone, he started to work right after I checked "ignore ownership on this Volume". But it is incredibly confusing because I was able to Save files on the Photoshop scratch disk. I couldn't just pick as a scratch disk.

The question is: is it ok that I simply chose to ignore permissions on these discs and I messed with the partnership, file, or should I do something else?

  • Once again... "" "scratch disks is write protected...". ' error message? -Mac

Recently I found this error message appear again, different from that of a previous post. "The"scratch disks"is write protected or unavailable. To open this project, the "scratch disks" will be set to your Documents folder. Do you want to continue? »

On our portable system Edition (Mac 10.6.8 CS 5.5) on some occasions when I plug a firewire drive, PP open, create a new project, I get the above message. When I click "Yes" to continue and open the Panel of projects all the disks scratch that I put for the disc show just that I had chosen them, not the documents folder. What gives? PP is looking for old projects, I created on different portable players, even if I'm not trying to open them (and they are not connected)? Seems strange.

Oops, I didn't read your initial post correctly.  The Scratch disk settings are stored in the preferences, and so if you do not have the last drive connected that you set as your Scratch disk when you exit the last, then you will get this message.

There is nothing wrong with that: your last drive selected is not available.  You see a message similar to the PCF, when you changed the external drives, or took the last than the one you used offline.

The 'write protected' part of the message refers to the situation caused by the permissions mentioned in my first answer.

I never chose to scratch disks (I don't capture Ribbon.), so I've never seen this message myself.

  • Scratch disk settings and freezing of the burned DVD

Hi, I would be very grateful for the help with the following please. Recently, I changed my settings to disk for the last 2 projects and now have problems. Please tell me if they are connected. So far, my scratch disk settings were all together on the C drive, IE. the same drive as the windows operating system. I've now changed such that all on the i drive, IE. a secondary internal hard drive. My new problem is that when I send my project to Adobe Encore via dynamic links and add menus and burn to DVD, my finished DVD is freezing and skipping in various random places.

I use a system quite high-end on windows 7 64 bit. I use TDK dvd - r discs, as I've been for the last 15 years. In reading some forums, I understand that these TDK discs are not the greatest, so I'm awaiting delivery of some Verbatim 43549 16 x DVD-R 4.7 GB. I should have these here tomorrow, but I am not at all convinced that is my answer. Because I have used TDK discs for so long and have had the occasional coaster from them, I don't see that I have now have me coasters of 90% of their share.

So, to summarize! Are these correct scratch disk settings, or am I confused things having Exchange on hard drives? It is the only thing that I'm aware that I've changed in the last 2 projects and am now having this problem. Your help would be welcome, Charlie is estimated

Is that what you said "Labels"? As in the printed label stuck on the DVD?

It would be a big Doh!

Labels printed (such as the creation of a stamper lablel) will make your DVD jump.

  • Isn't 'permission' to use the scratch disk.

    Hello

    I am running CS5.5 on a Mac.

When I start a new project and I try to put my drive to work, I told myself that I don't have permission and my "documents" folder will be set as the drive working. However, once the first has finished loading I am able to change the scratch disk. Yet, it would be nice to get it working properly.

I tried with a few discs and still get the same message. These readers work very much like the "scratch disks" to the PCF.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I am just at first of FCP and am trying to learn my way around.

    Thank you.

  • PS7 and Scratch disk full, using XP SP3 with 1 HD... How to fix?

I searched the forum, still couldn't find an answer or difficulty...  I installed my old PS7 on my new computer running XP with SP3 on an Intel Dual-Core, 1. 5 t HD (single player), 3 GB of RAM - not enough money for the PS, the computer upgrade took first dibs...  PS7 refuses to open - aprΦs the dΘmarrage, comes up with an error pop up indicating the Scratch disk is full and then stops.

My old system (W-2000, only HD 20 GB, with 1.8 processor Pentium, 1 GB of RAM) worked perfectly with PS7 - never had any problems...

I tried all the possible corrections...  HD is not even close to fragmented as it is a new drive; not quite yet installed programs, or use on computer, disk cleaning required; forced creation of the preferences (name changed to .old) file; and did the ctrl-alt-shift to start by default.  No idea what's happening, or why would he say the drive to complete work.

The partition is too large n thrown out of the logic of internal swap file, most likely. Obviously, at the time when PS7 was hot, 1.5 TB drives were not around...

  • "Scratch disk is full" error even if we can't?

    Hello world

Quite desperate for help that I have a looming deadline for a project.

When trying to crop in photoshop, I get an error "Could not complete your request because the"scratch disks"is full". It is on a new machine and nothing similar happened to me before. After display of the drive working in photoshop options, this is my C drive which is my OS SSD and has 114 GB of space.

This could be the cause? I'm confused.

Many many thanks to anyone who can help!
